Derek Daly went out of the race in his Tyrrell in a more spectacular fashion than he had done at Monaco earlier in the season. As he braked for the Tarzan corner to start lap 61 the left front brake disc shattered and tore one of the calipers from its mounting; the errant caliper flew out radially and punched a hole in the alloy wheel rim and went into the tyre. With no front brakes and a flat tyre the Tyrrell ploughed off across the sand, the wheel and hub assembly broke off, the left front corner dug into the sand and the car spun upwards to an incredible height and crashed down on top of the tyre barrier, fortunately the right way up. A rather shaken Irishman was helped out, with a slight cut on his leg and lots of bruises, justifiably wondering what had happened.

DANSON: They’ll kill me! BOULTON: Neil, I’ll kill you, and I got here first.

HOLMES: Thanks. For what you did. BOULTON: Well, I’ve had a really bad week. I didn’t want to scrape you off the wall as well.

John wants a transfer to the flying squad, but his lack of ~team spirit~ comes back to bite him in the arse. I’m not entirely sure he learns any humility by the end, but he is determined to solve the case he was wrong to dismiss as pointless. Kerry’s utterly fantastic here, and the episode is full of tasty Kerry/Liz as well.

This will only work if we ignore the obvious problem with aging and make everyone as old as when they were onscreen for the majority of the time all at the same time (so ignoring returns and later sad deaths like Ted in the numbered episodes and people leaving the service like Rod/Yorkie etc.)

I have included those who rose through the ranks or 'acted up' onscreen in those positions as well [For example - acting Superintendent Derek Conway would be allowed to be chosen as a Superintendent, however you couldn't promote someone who hadn't been seen onscreen as that rank - say making Will Fletcher a Superintendent] It's likely that I've forgotten some so please feel free to point it out and add them in!

You obviously cannot have people in more than one position however, so unfortunately (for me!) there's no Inspector Smith, Sgt Smith and PC Smith all working at the same time!

There are no rules on the sexes of characters (ie - you don't have to have 6 PC's of each sex). The numbers are as follows...

It was 1977, I had just finished filming Derek Jarman’s ‘Jubilee’ when I decided to visit an old friend of mine – Rae Spencer-Cullen – in New York. In addition to acting I also used to write articles for the glossy punk magazine “Delux” edited by Willy Daly and Duncan Fallowell. Upon mentioning I was off to New York, Duncan exclaimed, “Why don’t you try and get an interview with Andy Warhol for the magazine?”

I arrived in New York and rang ‘The Factory’. I was immediately invited down to meet Warhol as he was very interested to find out about Jubilee and the Punk movement in England. During the course of our meeting, he asked me if I knew the Sex Pistols, and if so, whether I could get an interview with them for his magazine ‘Interview’.

Arriving back in England a few weeks later, I contacted Malcolm McClaren asking if it would be possible to interview the Band. He said it was fine, but I had better get a move on as they were off on tour to America in a few days and were about to play their last gig in the UK at Ivanhoe’s in Huddersfield. They were playing a matinee and evening show as part of a benefit for families of striking firemen, the gig was to take place on Christmas Day 1977. At this time the location of any gigs the Pistols played were kept secret until the very last minute, in order to avoid trouble and cancellation.

I drove up to Huddersfield on Christmas morning and witnessed an electrifying concert. I spent a lot of time backstage where several of these pictures were taken. The band were incorrigible, Nancy Spungen stood behind me trying to set light to my hair – it was Johnny Rotten who finally stopped her. Sid Vicious was completely out of it, along with the other members of the band, excluding Rotten. The band poured beer in my tape recorder, which virtually stopped it from working and referred to Andy Warhol the whole way through as ‘Andy Arsehole’. Remarkably, I did manage to complete the interview but, unsurprisingly perhaps, Warhol decided not to use it. I sold it to Heathcote Williams for his magazine ‘It’.

Huddersfield was the last concert that the Sex Pistols played in England. In February 1978 Rotten left the band and within a year both Nancy Spungen and Sid Vicious were dead.

In 2008 the remaining Sex Pistols reformed and played a concert at the Brixton Academy.

Photographs taken by Jenny at the Concert were shown at the Rock Shutter Exhibition – ‘Best 500 Rock and Roll Photographs’ in Las Vegas, USA and prints of these are now highly collectable.

A tarde de sábado estava calma, calma até demais, mesmo para um fim de mês era de se imaginar que com o fim das aulas e a entrada do feriado de natal o movimento no bar iria estar estourando de adolescentes que recém podiam beber. Esses eram geralmente os mais voláteis, alguns enchiam a cara, outros mal encostavam em suas bebidas pela estranheza de finalmente poder pedi-las sem uma identidade falsa. Porém naquele dia, nada, nenhuma alma viva entrara pelas portas de vidro do estabelecimento e isso preocupava a garota. "Você acha que teremos movimento hoje? Está tão calmo." questionou Hailey a quem considerava sua mãe. A ex namorada de Derek que acabou se tornando muito mais que isso mesmo depois que terminaram. E esse questionamento seria como uma maldição, mal esperavam elas o que estava por vir assim que os jogos universitários terminassem dali alguns poucos minutos e os times vitoriosos fossem atrás de um lugar para comemorar.
