Hiii you’re doing astrology stuff! I love to see it <3 I have a question sorry if it’s silly, but I was curious about your learning process! Like specifically in regard to how your signs and their placements interact with and influence each other. I have a pretty solid grasp on all my placements individually, but it starts to get slip confusing when I try to think about how things like. having your moon and mars both in Aries presents or how that affects the rest of the chart. I hope that makes sense lol

this is not silly at all! ngl most of it has just been years and years and years and years of reading and practicing by reading my own chart and those of my friends and loved ones.

my biggest advice and i think it's really the best place to start is to understand the functions of the planets and houses broadly. then narrow in on how each planet influences its older in every placement. when i was first learning, i did this a sign at a time starting with pisces. i read everything i could about pisces sun, rising, moon, venus, etc, etc, etc. and continued on. then i could objectively look at a person's chart be it my own or someone else's and see "this is what this could look like for you" and it helps more if you know a person. you can see how it functions for them if you do often.

my recommended reading is:

- you were born for this by chani nicholas

- astrology: using the wisdom of the stars in every day life by carole taylor

parker's astrology is an especially wonderful resource because it's very in depth and explains in great detail how every placement functions and its influence. there isn't a lot of opinion based information in it, it's very straight forward. the other two books are more influential to how you view astrology broadly and its place in your life vs being super informative about the basics.

and based off of what you told me here with aries moon/mars, the way i would look at this is: well moon influences decision making and internal emotional processing. mars is outward expression, how we communicate in the workplace and socially, how people view us in situations where we have to be our higher selves.

when we think of aries, what do we think? we think of strong. we think of bold. we think of self assured. when it comes to decision making internally, you're likely very supportive of the self. you trust yourself inherently. there's never a question. you're decisive and your mars only further influences that by making the way you express that decisiveness very confident and capable. people trust you, they appreciate that you don't dawdle. so they function together and highlight each other beautifully overall.

does that make sense? i just feel taking a real world approach to astrology aka seeing how it functions irl and thinking about it matters and is the true key to understanding it. when i do readings i always try to give real world examples of expression for this reason so you can look at that and go "hey....yeah i really do that" bc we don't notice so much about ourselves.

✨ Astrology books I use ✨

⭐️ The Compleat Astrologer, by Derek Parker & Julia Parker, was the first astrology book I read when I was a kid, though I didn't understand a single shit (obvsly). I thought the illustrations were beautiful (and they are!!) and was obsessed with them. With this book, when I grew up, I learned how to properly calculate a birth chart.

⭐️ Dictionnaire Pratique d'Astrologie, by Catherine Aubier, is the book I carry literally everywhere, EVERYWHERE, everywhere, EVERYWHERE! I'm always reading it and meditating about it. It is probably my favorite book, because it's the one that is part of my daily life, really.

⭐️ The Only Way to Learn Astrology, by Marion D. March & Joan McEvers

⭐️ Technique of Solar Returns, by Alexandre Volguine

PS: There’s also another book by  Marion D. March & Joan McEvers that I use but I can’t find it’s original title anywhere!!! Anyway, in Portuguese it was published as ‘Seu Horóscopo, Seu Destino’ (literally ‘Your Horoscope, Your Destiny’), just in case anyone wants to know.
