Speak your language day
Since it's speak your language day I bring you some fine knowledge about yhe Finnish language! Here's how you can conjugate the word dog in Finnish: Koira, koiran, koiraa, koiran, koirassa koirasta, koiraan, koiralla, koiralta, koiralle, koirana, koiraksi, koiratta, koirineen, koirin And that's just to name a few. There are plenty more if you wanna check out a blog called @depressingfinland Another thing I love is this sentence: "Herra Kokko, kokoa koko kokko kokoon." It means "Mr. Kokko (a finnish surname) gather up the whole bonfire." If you wanna learn curse words here's some good ones: Vittu Perkele (my personal fave) Saatana Jumalauta Helvetti Paska And a frace that teen usually use during school: "Vittu mitä paskaa" Bit really one of the best things about Finnish I think is that we don't have gender pronouns. We use "hän" or "se" which could mean either a woman or a man. I think that is a great thing!
#speak your language day#wow this is longer than i thought it would be#oh well#i love finnish#it's such a silly language#finland

Finnish small talk at its finest
At a bus stop in Finland when it’s raining so much you’d probably spot Noah’s ark if you kept looking long enough.
A girl with soaking wet clothes comes and asks; “Does number 4 stop here?”
Me: Yeah I think so.
A moment of silence.
Girl: It’s raining a bit. Me: Yeah. I don’t have an umbrella.
End of discussion.
It’s not like Finns don’t like small talk (oh well it is also that) we literally CAN’T. After the really awkward chat with the stranger I’ve been thinking about whether I looked retarded or not when waving my hand in silence as a sign of leaving.

Apparently the Department of Social Services and Health Care in Helsinki, Finland thinks THIS is the appropriate way to educate teenagers about the dangers of the treacherous monster that is the INTERNET.
If only they had made this ten years ago! If only I’d known better! Now pictures of my belly button have been passed around the world by two animated sharks and my grandmother won’t speak to me. The horror.
