Hand Knotted Rugs: A Timeless Craft of Luxury and Durability
Hand knotted rugs are more than just floor coverings; they're works of art that carry the legacy of professional craftsmanship. These rugs, made by artisans who meticulously tie hundreds of knots by hand, offer remarkable durability, beauty, and intricacy in design. At Kaleen Baba, we specialize in high-quality hand knotted rugs, perfect for those who appreciate fine craftsmanship and want to invest in a long-lasting piece for their home.
Hand Knotted Rugs for Sale: A Rich Collection
When you’re looking for hand knotted rugs for sale, it’s essential to understand the value of these exceptional pieces. The process of hand knotting can take months, depending on the size and complexity of the design, which is why these rugs are considered premium in the world of floor coverings. Made from materials like wool, silk, or a blend of both, hand knotted rugs not only add a luxurious touch to your home but also stand the test of time.
At Kaleen Baba, we offer a wide variety of hand knotted rugs, ranging from traditional Oriental patterns to modern designs. Whether you’re looking to adorn your living room, bedroom, or hallway, our collection has something for every taste. Each rug tells a unique story and brings a sense of history and elegance to your space.
Hand Knotted Runner: Style and Functionality
A hand knotted runner is an excellent way to add both style and functionality to narrower spaces like hallways, entryways, or staircases. These long, slim rugs offer the same beauty and craftsmanship as larger hand knotted rugs but are designed to fit in more compact areas.
Not only do runners provide a decorative element, but they also protect your floors from wear and tear, making them both practical and stylish. At Kaleen Baba, our collection of hand knotted runners includes both traditional and modern designs, ensuring you find the perfect piece to match your interior décor.
Hand Tufted vs Hand Knotted: Understanding the Difference
When comparing hand tufted vs hand knotted rugs, the main distinction lies in the crafting process. Hand tufted rugs are made by punching wool or other fibers through a canvas backing using a hand-operated tool. This process is faster and less labor-intensive, which makes hand tufted rugs more affordable than hand knotted ones.
On the other hand, hand knotted rugs are crafted by tying individual knots onto the foundation of the rug. This intricate process requires a great deal of time and skill, resulting in a rug that is more durable and luxurious. Hand knotted rugs tend to be more expensive but are also more durable and considered long-lasting investments. If you’re looking for a rug that combines beauty, craftsmanship, and durability, hand knotted rugs are the way to go.
Conclusion
Whether you’re interested in the timeless beauty of hand knotted rugs, searching for hand knotted rugs for sale, or need a stylish hand knotted runner, Kaleen Baba offers a wide selection to meet your needs. Custom formline commissions are now open!!!
I was hoping to wait until I had an established new job to post this but the job hunt is still gonna be going for a week at least, so I'm opening these now!! All prices are in CAD, and I'll be accepting 3 slots to begin with!! If you want to see more examples of my formline art check out my portfolio website! You can also check the tag #telekitnetic art on here!!
Check below for more details; shares/reblogs are appreciated!
Details to keep in mind:
Consider your character's design and my style before you submit an enquiry! Some details like overly complicated designs, clothing, etc. may not translate well to formline! When it comes to animals and animalistic characters, the formline will keep the main animal the design is meant to be based on in mind (Ie, semi-canine designs may lean towards traditional canine shapes, etc.)
Because of this, I recommend sending an enquiry only if your character leans towards the animalistic or anthropomorphic side. No NSFW/R18 enquiries.
Payment is to be made via Square, Stripe, or Interac E-Transfer. Due to issues I've seen happen to other artists using PayPal, I'm hesitant to use that service for commissions of this price amount. If PayPal is the only possible service that you can use, please let me know in your enquiry and I can make an exception.
Estimated turnaround for this commission type is 3 weeks to a month and a half depending on the size and complexity. This may change depending on my job search, and I will update commissioners personally if the commission timeline changes!
Also important clarification: these custom designs are not intended to be tattoo designs, please don't send an enquiry with the intent of using them as such!
These are not first come first serve; I'll wait about a day before getting in touch with commissioners.
Be sure to check out my full terms of service here as well!! It includes a graph for a public look at my queue and progress!!
Feel free to DM me if you have any questions or want clarification on something, but please only submit enquiries and commission requests to my email address ([email protected])!! EDIT: I forgot discord is also a thing so if you want to send an enquiry via discord, my username is TeleKitnetic and my number is 3556!
#I'll get to responses/enquiries tomorrow; for now i gotta go eat dinner and look for more full time job opportunities (cries)#formline art#indigenous art#native art#telekitnetic art#art commissions#commissions open#artist on tumblr#art on tumblr#art commisions#formline

How I deal with shapes
@spadefish @kobothesmall So for shapes, the way I work with them is from studying how things break down individually, instead of following a broader ruleset for character design that you see a lot in tutorial posts (the triangle, square, circle theorem basically).
The way shapes work in humans is different from other animals (which also differ from each other), which is different from objects. The same shape can be used for different goals depending on what you're drawing. So there's no one size fits all, and especially in styles that have a bit more of realism going on, those shapes will behave differently than extremely cartoony styles.
Process wise, a lot of it ends up happening in my head than in the canvas, because I spent years dealing with this shape philosophy of "just bang your head for each thing you're drawing", which I understand is very tedious to some people, but I love studying individual things vs following tutorials because it teaches me 1. how that thing works in a context 2. gives me a new book to my visual library which I can pull from, which is often what happens! That, and a lot of it is just staring at references too. Still, I'll try to draw something up for this.
There are 2 ways to approach shape design. You either start with the shapes and then apply a concept to it, or you start with a concept and apply shapes to it. The former is much harder to do without practice (and also comes more in concept art which is rough, unfinished and meant to be done and redone dozens of times by design). So, I tend to do the latter: I start with a concept of what I want. This can be as simple as "I just want a character that's fat/standing" or more abstract like "I want a character that feels like a river/I want this to feel like an outburst".
Let's start with a concrete concept: I want a design that looks like a pacman frog, and just a standing pose that isn't too stiff.
I grab some pacman frog references, and sometimes if the pose is complex, I'll find references for that too. Pacman frogs are pretty pudgy, and their legs aren't that long compared to most frogs, even when unfolded, and their faces have a nice triangle-ish forehead with a nice shape for the mouth.
The result is that i use large shapes for most of the body. Curves contrast with sharper lines, giving the sense of something geometric but still organic. The line of action here helps me pose these shapes in a way that gives some movement to something as simple as standing (and you'll gain a lot of mileage from learning how to rotate shapes! this is how you're able to position them in different ways and create more dynamic poses).
For something more abstract, like a crouched pose meant to be angry, I take some references when i can and start doing something like this:
Note that these shapes seem weird because I'll have a naked fullbody wip below any clothed characters to have some anatomical guidance, but for actual final shapes and silhouette, what matters is the final elements, and that includes clothes! so i try to build shapes that emphasize this droopy, closed off feeling. This sketch isn't even that good really, there's plenty of errors, but I hope it gives an idea of whats going on.
I hope this weird rambly nonsense helped LOL

CUSTOM TATTOO DESIGNS COMMS
Ill be taking commissions for tattoo designs similar to the ones on my ko-fi shop! Heres some pictures of the designs either way so you can familiarize with my style:
The price depends a lot on the size & complexity of the design! But 20 us dollars is the base for the price. Sadly I cannot tattoo these or the flashes myself as of now, but I will some day when I have my tattooer certificate :-)
Please message me privately to arrange the commission! I also have a discord under the same username as here if that is easier for you!
Please consider supporting & reblogging! Thank you!

I want to show off the book covers I've made so far.
First, my own books.
Hiéroglyphes, original French version and English translation (the English one was to be sold online so it needed to work as a thumbnail hence the contrasting colors -can't go wrong with orange and teal- and simplification of the silhouette. Also the title needs to be lisible as a thumbnail on amazon.)
Emmanuel, original English version and French translation. We just needed to easily tell them apart. The first one is self published and the 2nd traditionally published, so it had to be adapted to their size, and the company logo had to be included. (and to be honest I always fix the things that have been bugging me since the first version lol)
Here is a children book I produced for my home town (it's a cookbook and I made the illustrations inside too):
Here are some covers I did for friends and clients.
I love doing cover work, it's always interesting to find the point between the book needing to look its genre (or no one will buy it) and also look interesting among its genre.
I'm available to make book covers, with typography, design, illustration. Price starts at 1000$ (canadian) and depends on the complexity. Just message me if you're interested.

What's in the Box?
PONY PONIES IN THE BOX
If you've been following along you may have seen that @queenofsquids printed the Takara-inspired BJD last week, both in a "mini" test form and a full-sized one. The full-sized one was supposed to be in yellow, but the pure yellow resin turned out to be a more orangey tone. She incredibly generously offered to send me the orange pony BJD
And then
She incredibly incredibly again generously sent not only the little test takara-bjd in grey BUT ALSO printed my original takara 3D model and sent that?! This is so unbelievably kind and generous. I was so surprised when I opened them all!
I'm not sure if you were all aware but I actually dont have a print of the original "Takara duplicate" doll. I did get the seapony PLA printed at the library (and it was my first ever 3D print!).
For my second print, I got the Dollightful bunny doll printed because I wanted to have experience with jointed dolls made by other people before I put more complex models out. So I figured it would be a while before I got the chance to see my newer models printed.
So like its actually so kind of @queenofsquids to send these but also it's really meaningful to me because I started the takara project where I became obsessed with them over a year ago. It's so amazing to see this thing that frankly I spent so much time fiddling with (even if there are some imperfections; more about that later) and hold it in my hands 🥹 I just keep looking at them and smiling
Also I immediately stole the clothes off my NaNaNa dolls and put them on mini-takara-bjd. They're a little short but fit pretty well!
Some design notes/planned adjustments under cut
-The neck and arm balls are definitely too blocky, this doesn't impact the movement but it is very visually obvious
-Queenofsquids mentioned this but the arm bean is too big and gets stuck in the arm sockets.
^^ These two issues are the most obvious upon brief inspection but are also easy to fix so I'm gonna put out a version ASAP adjusting the file. Call it the version Version 1 Hotfix. Both of these should be fixed in the existing models with a bit of sanding.
-The legs are like just a touch too blocky and I think you can also see lines in the head and chest areas ;-; I think this would depend on the printer, like it might be fine in PLA due to the lower resolution. This can also be buffed out but I can adjust it with some effort
-> I think the blockiness issues come down to the fact I was trying to make the models not too high resolution because then the file size is massive, can't import into cura properly, and even slows down *my* beefy computer. that's why it might take a bit for me to adjust all of these pieces, especially the legs because they have a lot of booleans that lag blender. basically i leaned in the other direction and went a bit too far with some pieces.
-legs are very thin at the bottom (ran into this issue with the dollightful bunny doll too and had to redo quite a bit actually to make it neat)
-The bottom of the heart on the knee in particular is an imperfect fit. I was getting errors in Cura because of some issues related to the knee so I had to remesh it, if you'll remember, so I will need to maybe go in and redo that one :/
-The line around the eyes could be a touch more pronounced, its supposed to be somewhat stylized eyelashes
-I need to play with the arms/legs more to figure out potential issues with the existing joints. But they do at least work and hold poses. I'm not sure if people would prefer anything more complicated like locking joints or if this level of poseability is acceptable
Other things I want to experiment with
-hand pose variation
-nose/mouth variations? it is actually kind of funny to imagine you could switch the expression out to a little :o face or a c: or :3 type of thing
-pegasus/unicorn/fluffy hoof variants like i had planned before
so much stuff :0 and I haven't even finished bunny doll, although at least her paint job is basically done. Once I string the big BJD I can also test posing.

my concept for the main espers' projection forms cause i personally do not care for the idea that they all look like shige's... i think they'd vary in size, opacity, and brightness depending on the potency of their abilities & how they awakened. sho's has no notes because i dont know if im gonna keep his
shige's is completely malleable, but the brightest out of all of them. completely opaque, you'd think he's a solid object until you try to touch him. he looks a little ragged/worse for wear, with wide, perpetually petrified eyes -- my personal interpretation of what its like to have all of that power pushed down for so long... it cant stay down forever. every single 100% meltdown resulted in those frayed edges/tendrils and the odd wrinkled texture his lines have. also he's not exclusively Critterified, unlike ltierally every other esper he can actively morph into looking like a human of some sort (bipedal, longer arms, like he does in the manga) sniles
terus is kind of self explanatory. a note i didn't add -- he changes his visual texture like a chameleon, kind of blending into his surroundings. if he's hovering above water, he's goopy. if he's inside a cloud, hes poofy. if he's . idk. on a log or some shit he'll get all grainy. hes also SUPER bright but like, very obviously see-through. he only has one beady little eye because. haha. nel's teru rose tinted lenses metaphor. He Cannort see shit. his textures ALSO change based on emotions
ritsu is a small funny little thing. a lot of his design is based off of a prey animal of some kind. its meant to be a metaphor for how he percieves himself next to shige but im too tired to properly dissect it honestly. since "spoon bending" is such an important aspect of his powers and one of the biggest representations of his inferiority complex... he has a little spoon tail! i also believe the projections form themselves based off of the earliest days of awakening, and since there was that whole sequence of ritsu throwing the spoon & getting upset at ekubo and bending a shit ton of spoons. boom. shabam. spoon shit. theres more but iiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Forgot
and sho. i dont have notes for him. i honestly just thought a little flying bug would be cool because i kind of took the absolute basic aspects of how i percieve his character ("with great power comes great responsibility" "gentle" "afraid of those he loves" "ride or die kinda guy") plus his powers (invisibility, energy storage, the implementation of his wrestling skill into his attacks) and thought. bug. specifically some kind of ant because of the shot of him watching a bunch of ants scuttle around in the one flashback with his mama. the more i think about it i think some kinda beetle would be more fitting for him? but i think ant is funnier. ill def work more on it later.

My dolls)
Hi guys) The package with the previous mouse group order arrived in the US. The rest does not depend on me. So I'm making a post to show everything I can offer. Shipping from Russia is quite expensive, starts from about 70 USD for EMS, which I usually use. So it makes more sense for foreigners if someone organizes a group order to share the shipping cost. This has already been done twice. And I believe there is a discord group about this. But I will give you approximate numbers: This is about 70 USD for up to 1 kilogram 90 USD for up to 2 kilograms and about 105 USD for up to 3 kilograms.
This post is going to be huge so I'll put the prices on top:
15cm mouse. 73 usd for standard colour. +7 usd for extra colour.
25cm turtle. 230 usd.
28 cm 1/6 boy doll. 110 usd for Eirwyn 120 for character heads cause of their hair/ear parts.
MSD Eirwyn. 180 usd.
Speaking of group orders I would prefer not to go above 1000 USD in one box because I don't trust US Customs one bit. And if something bad is destined to happen - I would prefer it not to be a terribly large amount of money.
I can change the prices over time. I most likely will. I'm just groping for a while. The difference in price is more due to the amount of manual work I have to put into the doll than to the size. Turtles are far and away the most complex. And human dolls are less time-consuming. If I make a few and feel that it is more difficult or easier than I thought - I will change the prices. As you can see, so far I have only sold mice.
So what do I offer?
I'm obviously offering mice.
This is around life size mouse doll. Almost 15 cm standing tall and including ears.
I use ABS-like photopolymer resin for these dolls. Because it is easier to work with and looks more polyurethane-like. Mice have a lot of small delicate parts that would be harder to make look good with a harder resin. So it's a tradeoff. I prefer aesthetics over durability. I am not saying that ABS-like resin is too brittle. Many people use this type of resin for dolls. Especially small ones. I am just explaining why I use different types of resin for different dolls. I might consider printing a mouse with the tough resin I use for my larger dolls but that would cost more because it would take more time to post-process.
The colors "from the can" are gray and white. I can also print beige and chocolate at any time. Because these are the most basic colors and I can cut the leftovers. (Beige and chocolate may differ slightly from time to time because I due them myself. White and gray are constant.)
I can mix any color (green, purple). But there must be 2 or more mice of this color in the order. Otherwise it will be counted as an extra color because I will have a lot of leftovers that I will not be able to use.
There is also an option to add pink paws or tail or both. If the doll has 2 colors in it, it is counted as an extra color.
2. Turtles.
Yes, I finally decided to try and start selling them.
They are 1/6 size. About 25 cm. A little shorter than Barbie. But wide and heavy.
There are 4 sculpts. Each of which has an individual head and some differences in the body.
Officially I name the sculpts by numbers, not by character names. but I think the characters are pretty obvious.
So #1 (Leo)) He's my princess >W< Lol. Sorry. This sculpt is quite beefy. But has the most delicate face and front shell of them all for my taste.
№2 (Raph)
This one the widest and most monstrous of them all. He was actually designed to be a little shorter than the first one, but he refused and ended up the same height.
№3 (Don) He is a little taller and thinner than the others. I tried to make him more human in proportions and face.
№4 (Mike) He's the baby of the group. I still wonder if I made him too small. But I like him as is.
Each of them has 3 faces on magnets. Neutral, angry and happy.
For turtle dolls I use a tough resin. Because they are actually big, even though they are short. And they have quite a strong elastic tension. It's a little less pretty than the ABS-like. But it's really tough. I have a video of me throwing it on the pavement.
Turtles have 3 colors. For the skin, plastron and shell. You can send me a picture and I will try to dye the resin as close as I can.
I will add 2 pairs of the chosen color eyes and 1 pair of white to the doll.
I can also print basic katanas and sais in a size suitable for the doll. In a random color.
3. 1/6 youth doll.
This body is about 28cm and is sculpted to represent a teenage boy in a Barbie-proportioned world.
This can go with my original Eirwin head and resin hair
Or an anime head with a hairstyle representing a character from the Genshin Impact game.
(Keep in mind that 1/6 of the sculpts has sculpted eyelashes) At the moment I have
Tighnari with magnetic ears (It's my friend's doll)))
and Cyno
Lol I even made his hair articulated.
I also tried to put a Barbie head on this body and it wasn't terrible)
I print these dolls with tough resin as well. Even though they are small they aren't very detailed so it's just nice to have a little more durability.
I can try to dye the color you want. But I can't promise 100% accuracy because one is the pictures on the screen and the other is the resin and pigments. And also I do not recommend dark skin colors. because this resin is very thick and it can reject the pigment while printing. With dark colors it can lead to a slight difference of the color between parts in one doll.
And last but not least...
4. MSD Eirwyn.
The MSD version of this sculpt has some differences from the 1/6 version. It has a wider neck, smaller eyes, and no sculpted eyelashes.
Eirvin is 45cm tall and is adjusted to fit into my company MSD doll group. (Photos with Dollzone and Resinsoul)
10mm eyes, 55mm feet. The only non-standard part of him is his butt. It's quite wide for a MSD) But I like the silhouette.
I print my dolls with full infill so it weighs the same as the cast doll.
Obviously I'm printing such a big doll with tough resin. And with such a size of parts I'm mostly calm for this doll. My cat has already given it a couple of test falls from the table.
For color - I also do not recommend dark here. For large parts and almost 10 hours of printing it can give a big difference in color.
I don't mind answering questions and taking additional photos if needed.
Congratulations) You survived my longest post.

- If you post the commission anywhere, please tag me or credit me properly. Please do not remove my watermark unless you have already discussed it with me and I have allowed it.
- Do not recolor my lines for other designs even if I have sold you the commission. It is disrespectful and I will consider it theft as I do not wish for my art to be used as a base without permission.

CLOSED AS OF JUNE 2024!!! WILL ANNOUNCE IF/WHEN THEY ARE BACK OPEN, THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST <3
I am happy to announce that after an extended hiatus, commissions are open until I burn out for the foreseeable future !! I know it's long but please read the information below carefully if you're interested in paying me to draw ur guys <3
[PRICING] ❖ bust (chest-up): $45 ❖ half (waist-up): $60 ❖ ¾ (knee-up): $75 ❖ fullbody: $95
each additional character is +80% of base price [maximum 3 characters per commission!]
I may charge up to +25% of base price for more complex props/designs
all finished pieces will be at 350dpi, but I will choose the final canvas size unless otherwise requested.
your choice of render style: lined & coloured, painted, or somewhere in between! I am comfortable with all three options and pricing is unaffected; this is purely an aesthetic choice. If you aren't sure/have no preference, I will take liberty based on what I think would suit the piece best. This cannot be changed once I have reached the colouring stage, so choose wisely!
RENDER STYLE OPTION DETAILS I. lined & coloured: think traditional anime illustration-style pieces. Lineart can be smooth or scratchy at your request but is clearly visible within the piece regardless. ❖ examples: x x x x II. painting: blocky, textured shapes with visible brush stokes. Lineart is integrated into the piece to provide structure, but is not the main focus. ❖ examples: x x x x III. hybrid: what it says on the tin ! varies from piece to piece but features elements of both my lined and painted styles. No hard-set conventions, however lineart is typically used for detailed areas such as hair, whereas clothes and skin tend to look more painterly. ❖ examples: x x x x
[WILL DRAW] ❖ OCs ❖ fanart *while not mandatory, in order to ensure best results I recommend your commission feature characters from a fandom that I have previously drawn content for or have otherwise expressed interest in. ❖ light-moderate blood/gore ❖ backgrounds *all finished pieces will include a simple background (ie. a solid colour or minimally-patterned backdrop for some visual flavour). Detailed backgrounds will be priced on a case-by-case basis depending on what you are looking for but will have a MINIMUM cost of $40
[WON’T DRAW] ❖ NSFW (suggestive stuff is ok but nothing explicit. Ask me in your email if you’re not sure and we can work something out!) ❖ [char] x self-insert ❖ furry*/mecha/bara *regular animals or simplistic animal appendages (ears/tails) are ok I am a catboy advocate ❖ heavy blood/gore/violence ❖ ships that weird me out ❖ real people *please also avoid using photos of real people as reference (ie. for an OC’s appearance) if possible! ❖ complex metal/mechanical props (cars, vehicles, armor/weaponry, etc.)

Things the new LMK animation studio, Wildbrain, could work on for the new upcoming season and season after:
1) Dont use flash animation style as a crutch, flash works with daily life shows, not so much with action/adventure cartoons. It makes it look like a content farm and we arent about that. Especially characters eyebrows, thats definitely a hand drawn thing to do for this.
2) Dont be afraid to play with the characters limb sizes. There's a lot of stretching and squishing with the characters, despite them being literal LEGOs, thats what makes the 2D animation for thus show great, you can break the LEGO figurine rules in the real world.
3) Dont be afraid to test out new things, Flying Bark did it all the time, with thier flashback sequences they often took inspiration from Chinese ink paintings
4) When designing new characters, dont directly take from the figurines LEGO gives you, use creative liberties and change certain aspects of the design from the figures. As much as I like complicated designs, I found in the actual show, the simpler you can make it while still making it feel complex makes it look good
5) Flying Bark used a 50% White overlay layer for the irises for all the characters, including Wukong and Macaque, it makes thier eyes look more alive, which i noticed Macaque was lacking in. Along with make making the irises and eyes slightly bigger, which i noticed Nezha (and what I assume in Erlang Shen) consistently had these weird inconsistencies compared to the other characters in the entire trailer
6) Use interesting camera angles, I guess this advice is more for the storyboarders of the studio, since thier job is to make the layouts and camera angles. Whenever there's a fight in the show it typically gave you an interesting way to look at it depending on what was going on, like for the Corrupted Wukong and Macaque fight in season 3, they were constantly going between being far away and up close to thier faces, depending how tense the moment was, the more tense, the closer you wanna be.
7) Try your best. LMK fans are quite picky, especially sense we've always held these high expectations from the show. I know the first season animation style was ... a little weird but its only gotten better from there. LMK fans may be brash at first, especially since we're all kind of miffed about having little to no news for the show to suddenly it could possibly be airing in a month and the studio we loved and adored said they are no longer working on it anymore. Im sure as time moves on you'll get better, but God please, move away from flash animation as if your life depends on it, it really only limits the ability of the show to tell its visual story as flash animation has so many limitations, especially for the genre
-yours truly, Monkie Kid fans <3

I'm trying to be consistent with prices, so I've made a price list
prices are generally related to complexity of design and piece shape/size, but I also tend to price things higher if they were a pain in the ass. if there’s a flaw I’ll lower the price depending on how much the flaw affects the piece
