Allah has sent many nations into this world; they all had their allotted time and they came and left one after another.
Allah sent His Messengers to each nation to guide them to the path of righteousness so that they may achieve Jannah in the afterlife. All those who obeyed Him will rejoice, and the deniers will perish for eternity.
Anyone who thinks this doesn’t apply to them is in denial; the Quran is full of the stories of the previous nations, and it is a lesson for all mankind to heed His Word while there is time.

The Tragedy Prayer
"Let us offer up a prayer to those who have perished in this nightmarish act of cruelty today.
And I remind you all, once again, that we pray not to God, but to ourselves; to sharpen our minds and to focus our wills.
Our Power, which burns within Us, exquisite be Our Might.
Our Kingdom come, Our Will be done, on Earth as it is within Us.
Give Us this day our fondest wish, and improve ever upon Us, as we strive ever to improve Ourselves.
And lead Us not into corruption or malaise, but give Us strength to persist in the face of adversity.
Lives have been taken needlessly from Us by a loathsome lost soul on a mission of evil.
May the sickness of this rotten death-urge vacate Our collective Being.
May the exploiters of tragedy find that their words turn to shit in their mouths.
May the deniers of tragedy find that they are denied mercy until they repent.
May the cruelty of this world be alleviated by the love and fellowship and brotherhood and sisterhood and siblinghood that We may find in Ourselves.
To love One Another and to serve One Another and to serve those that love Us.
And may Those whose souls are on this day scorched with pain and anguish find Their way to the balm of kindness.
Let Those who have been so darkly touched by the worst of humanity see now the best of it.
And may Our differences be cast aside, and all the bullshit cut through, until all that is left is the truth.
Let it be so."

#In May of 2022 TJ posted a video discussing the tragedy and politics of the school shooting in Uvalde Texas of the United States#And he ended that video with this prayer#I omitted one word-- the word twenty-one-- the number of lives that were lost in Uvalde that day#because I plan on reblogging this every time a mass shooting happens in this country#I even added the first part to the description of this blog as a general prayer#This channel's name-- Ignorants Anonymous-- is of course a parody of the support groups#the ones that are supposed to aid those with addictions#and those support groups rely heavily on the christian religion as an anchor to help guide their members#though nowadays they try to be more inclusive--as long as you have an entity or concept you hold higher than yourself then#the twelve step program can still apply#along with the name I also wanted to similarly parody the religious aspect of the support group#kind of like how satanists parody abrahamic religions with the name of those religions' opposer#while ironically holding themselves to the message of peace and love preached by those texts than the actual followers of those religions d#You do not have to be atheist to follow this blog or to get use out of it but#I find that the words of TJ Kirk-- The Amazing Atheist-- do a better job at representing the theme of this blog than I ever could#i hope he never discovers this blog personally but if he does i hope he at least approves of my use of his expressions#prayer#tj kirk#the amazing atheist#amazing atheist#terroja kincaid#YouTube

Facing Doubters, Deniers, and Defenders
Today's inspiration comes from:
In the Footsteps of the Savior
by Max Lucado
"'To understand John 3:16 — indeed to understand Jesus — this title is required reading: “... one and only Son...”'
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." — John 3:16
"'Jesus, the one and only.
The Greek word for “one and only” is monogenes, an adjective compounded of monos — “only” and genes — “species, race, family, offspring, kind.” When used in the Bible, it almost always describes a parent-child relationship. Luke uses it to describe the widow’s son: “the only son of his mother” (Luke 7:12). The writer of Hebrews states: “Abraham... was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac” (Hebrews 11:17 NLT).
John employs the term five times, in each case highlighting the unparalleled relationship between Jesus and God.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. — John 1:14
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known. — John 1:18
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16
Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. — John 3:18
This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. — 1 John 4:9
In all five appearances the adjective modifies the subject “Son.”
“Monogenes,” then, highlights the singular relationship between Jesus and God. He is a Son in a sense that no one else is. All who call on Him are children of God, but Jesus alone is the Son of God. Only Christ is called “monogenes,” because only Christ has God’s genes or genetic makeup.
The familiar translation “only begotten Son” (John 3:16 NKJV) conveys this truth. When parents “beget” or conceive a child, they transfer their DNA to the newborn. Jesus shares God’s DNA. He isn’t begotten in the sense that He began but in the sense that He and God have the same essence, same eternal essence, unending wisdom, tireless energy.
Every quality you give God, you can give Jesus.
Jesus claimed:
Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father! — John 14:9 NLT
And the epistle concurred:
This Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God’s nature. — Hebrews 1:3 The Message
Jesus enjoys a relationship with God that is unknown and unexperienced by anyone else in history; He claims to occupy the Christ the Redeemer perch. Through the pen of Matthew He gives two features of the relationship.
My Father has entrusted everything to Me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. — Matthew 11:27 NLT
Via these words He calls Himself the One and Only Ruler.
My Father has entrusted everything to Me. — Matthew 11:27 NLT
With that holy authority came power. Power to condemn, power to forgive, and the wisdom and discernment necessary for both. The Son understood this responsibility. Never more so than one day at the temple . . .
The voices had yanked her out of bed.
“Get up, you harlot.”
“What kind of woman do you think you are?”
Priests had slammed open the bedroom door, thrown back the window curtains, and pulled off the covers. Before she felt the warmth of the morning sun, she had felt the heat of their scorn.
“Shame on you.”
“Pathetic.”
“Disgusting.”
She scarcely had time to cover her body before they marched her through the narrow streets. Dogs yelped. Roosters ran. Women leaned out their windows. Mothers snatched children off the path. Merchants peered out the doors of their shops. Jerusalem became a jury and rendered its verdict with glares and crossed arms.
And as if the bedroom raid and parade of shame were inadequate, the men thrust her into the middle of a morning Bible class.
Early the next morning [Jesus] was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and He sat down and taught them. As He was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.
“Teacher,” they said to Jesus, “this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The law of Moses says to stone her. What do You say?” — John 8:2–5 NLT
Stunned students stood on one side of her. Pious plaintiffs on the other. They had their questions and convictions; she had her dangling negligee and smeared lipstick. “This woman was caught in the act of adultery,” her accusers crowed. Caught in the very act. In the moment. In the arms. In the passion. Caught in the act by the Jerusalem Council on Decency and Conduct. “The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?”
The woman had no exit. Deny the accusation? She had been caught. Plead for mercy? From whom? From God? His spokesmen were squeezing stones and snarling their lips. No one would speak for her.
But someone would stoop for her.
Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust. — John 8:6 NLT
We would expect Him to stand up, step forward, or even ascend a stair and speak. But instead He leaned over. He descended lower than anyone else — beneath the priests and the people and even beneath the woman. The accusers looked down on her. To see Jesus, they had to look down even farther.
He’s prone to stoop. He stooped to wash feet, to embrace children. Stooped to pull Peter out of the sea, to pray in the garden. He stooped before the Roman whipping post. Stooped to carry the Cross. Grace is a God who stoops. Here he stooped to write in the dust.
Remember the first occasion His fingers touched dirt? He scooped soil and formed Adam. As he touched the sunbaked soil beside the woman, Jesus may have been reliving the Creation moment, reminding Himself from whence we came. Earthly humans are prone to do earthy things. Maybe Jesus wrote in the soil for His own benefit.
[Jesus] is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.
— Romans 8:34, The Message
Or for hers? To divert gaping eyes from the scantily clad, just-caught woman who stood in the center of the circle?
The posse grew impatient with the silent, stooping Jesus.
They kept demanding an answer, so He stood up. — John 8: 7 NLT
He lifted Himself erect until His shoulders were straight and His head was high. He stood, not to preach, for His words would be few. Not for long, for He would soon stoop again. Not to instruct His followers; He didn’t address them. He stood on behalf of the woman. He placed Himself between her and the lynch mob and said,
‘All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!’ Then He stooped down again and wrote in the dust. — John 8:7–8 NLT
Name-callers shut their mouths. Rocks fell to the ground. Jesus resumed His scribbling.
When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. — John 8:9 NLT
Jesus wasn’t finished. He stood one final time and asked the woman,
Where are your accusers? — John 8:10 NLT
My, my, my. What a question — not just for her but for us. Voices of condemnation awaken us as well.
“You aren’t good enough.” “You’ll never improve.” “You failed — again.”
The voices in our world.
And the voices in our heads! Who is this morality patrolman who issues a citation at every stumble? Who reminds us of every mistake? Does he ever shut up?
No. Because Satan never shuts up. The apostle John called him the accuser:
This great dragon — the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world — was thrown down to the earth with all his angels. Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the Heavens, ‘... For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth — the one who accuses them before our God day and night’. — Revelation 12:9–10 NLT
Day after day, hour after hour. Relentless, tireless. The accuser makes a career out of accusing. Unlike the conviction of the Holy Spirit, Satan’s condemnation brings no repentance or resolve, just regret. He has one aim: “to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10 NLT). Steal your peace, kill your dreams, and destroy your future. He has deputized a horde of silver-tongued demons to help him. He enlists people to peddle his poison. Friends dredge up your past. Preachers proclaim all guilt and no grace. And parents, oh, your parents. They own a travel agency that specializes in guilt trips. They distribute it twenty-four hours a day. Long into adulthood you still hear their voices: “Why can’t you grow up?” “When are you going to make me proud?”
Condemnation — the preferred commodity of Satan. He will repeat the adulterous woman scenario as often as you permit him to do so, marching you through the city streets and dragging your name through the mud. He pushes you into the center of the crowd and megaphones your sin: This person was caught in the act of immorality... stupidity... dishonesty... irresponsibility.
But he will not have the last word. Jesus has acted on your behalf.
He stooped. Low enough to sleep in a manger, work in a carpentry shop, sleep in a fishing boat. Low enough to rub shoulders with crooks and lepers. Low enough to be spat upon, slapped, nailed, and speared. Low. Low enough to be buried.
And then He stood. Up from the slab of death. Upright in the tomb and right in Satan’s face. Tall. High. He stood up for the woman and silenced her accusers, and he does the same for you.
He
is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us. — Romans 8:34 The Message
Let this sink in for a moment. In the presence of God, in defiance of Satan, Jesus Christ rises to your defense. He takes on the role of a priest.
Since we have a great priest over God’s house, let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, because we have been made free from a guilty conscience. — Hebrews 10:21–22 NCV
A clean conscience. A clean record. A clean heart. Free from accusation. Free from condemnation. Not just for our past mistakes but also for our future ones.
Since He will live forever, He will always be there to remind God that He has paid for [our] sins with His blood. — Hebrews 7:25 TLB
Christ offers unending intercession on your behalf.
Jesus trumps the devil’s guilt with words of grace."'

The Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever” carried a particularly English note of permanence. However, historians haven’t been able to find another field central to England itself—the site upon which the nation was created. Five kings, seven earls, and “an uncountable army” perished on the battlefield of Brunanburh nearly 1,100 years ago (illustrated above). The Anglo-Saxons emerged victorious, taking control of what would be a nation.
For decades, historians and archaeologists have chased clues about the battle site (depicted above). One unproven claim puts it outside the Beatles hometown of Liverpool, where Strawberry Fields was the Salvation Army children’s home and garden where John Lennon played as a kid. Chronicles of the great Battle of Brunanburh describe the 937 conflict as a definitive Anglo-Saxon victory when England emerged as a united nation. Yet despite the battle's historic significance, many of the details about it have been lost to time—including where it happened. Painting By Alfred Pearse, The StapletonCollection/Bridgeman Images

JUZ 7 - LESSONS
When the true believers hear the Truth, their eyes overflow with tears. Check yourself. Do you cry when you recite or hear the Qur'an? If not, then why not? Is it because we don't understand the Qur'an?
- No matter what you are going through in life, speak good. Because Allah SWT says: So Allah rewarded them for what they said ... (5:85) If you are angry and cannot talk nicely, then it is better for you to remain silent.
- Three things that can lead us to Jannah: Emaan (faith), righteous company and perseverance in good.
Watch the limits in halal too
What is Taqwa?
Fear of Allah + Love of Allah
that makes us give up sins, that motivates us to do good deeds
- "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling...are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful. Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist? (5:90-91)
Intoxicants anything that covers the intellect Gambling - any game of chance where betting and money is involved
These evils make one negligent of the remembrance of Allah SWT and prayer. In gambling, one person takes the wealth of others. The ones losing develop hatred for the winner - and this sometimes leads to murder. Adopt permissible means to increase your wealth. Don't fall for quick rich schemes.
Allah SWT will surely test us. In a hadith we learn, the greatest reward comes with the greatest trial. When Allah loves a people, He tests them. Whoever accepts this facts wins His pleasure.
- Strong is he who controls his nafs
- Lawful to you is game from the sea and its food as provision for you and the travelers, but forbidden to you is game from the land as long as you are in the state of ihram. And fear Allah to whom you will be gathered. (5:96)
Why is the Day of Gathering mentioned after talking about food? Allah SWT is reminding us that while He has made food available for us on the land and in the sea, this is not the purpose of our life. We should be grateful for the variety but remain focused on our Akhirah. Keep your food simple!
- Do not ask unnecessary questions in Deen, lest things become difficult for you to implement. Don't ask unnecessary questions about worldly matters, lest you cause agitation to others.
- Do not blindly follow anyone. Don't say: I am doing this because my parents taught me this or I have been doing this since childhood. Research and verify, is it from the Qur'an and Sunnah? If not, then leave it.
- You are responsible for yourself. After you have conveyed the message to others, your job is done. You are not responsible for their actions. Remember, your Dawah should be gentle and with wisdom. Don't insult people.
- Be prepared for death at all times even when you are traveling. Offer each prayer thinking that this might be your last.
- Knowledge demands humility. If you know a lot, unless you are asked don't start bragging about your knowledge. If you are in a gathering of knowledge and you are not the speaker, remain quiet unless you are asked to speak.
- If you hear something good and are motivated to act right away, then know that Allah SWT placed that good thought in your heart. Don't ignore it.
- Be truthful in belief, in speech and in thoughts
- Allah being pleased with them, and they with Him. That is the great attainment. (5:119) May Allah SWT make us of them who are pleased with Him and He is pleased with them, ameen.
- Read the stories of the perished nations, why were they destroyed? Don't repeat their mistakes. "Travel through the land; then observe how was the end of the deniers." (6:11)
- No one will be forgiven solely because of their good deeds. It is Allah's mercy that allows us to enjoy blessings in this world and will let us taste the blessings in the Hereafter as well.
Say:
اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ؛ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَمْلِكُهَا إِلَّا أَنْتَ
"O Allah, I ask you of Your bounty and Your mercy, for indeed, none hold possession of them but yourself." [Tabarani]
- When tests come from Allah SWT, then we should seek help from Him. He says: And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him. (6:17)
"O Allah, there is none Who can avert what You grant or give what You deprive, and no fortune ever helps the fortunate against You."
- In the Hereafter, no one will help you. You will be responsible for yourself. Do not listen to anyone who tells you to disobey Allah SWT or turns you away from His Path.
- When we listen to the Qur'an, our intention should be: seek guidance, implement the Qur'anic teachings in our life and remove all false practices from our life
- Don't love Dunya more than the Hereafter. Dunya is temporary. Akhirah is eternal.
-When you feel sad because what people say or do, then recall the trials of Rasoolullah SA. Be patient and be soft.
- If one doesn't want guidance (he doesn't see, he doesn't listen, he doesn't want to know) then Allah SWT too doesn't give them guidance. One has to "seek guidance."
- A hard heart is a punishment of Allah SWT - check your heart
Being blessed and being deprived are both tests from Allah SWT.

PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH)’s BIOGRAPHY : General Boycott.Part1
First, the fact that both Hamza and Umar had become a Muslim meant two great defeats for the Quraysh. Second, the envoys they had sent to Abyssinia with great gifts had returned empty handed. Naturally, the Meccans had become enraged and the men were already sharpening their swords. On top of all this, they were receiving news of people who were migrating to Abyssinia and this was dispiriting them. It seemed that before long, things were going to get completely out of their hands and carried to another untouchable platform. On the one hand there was the protection of the families of Hisham and Abdul Muttalib and so they could not do anything permanent concerning the Messenger of Allah, for people had united to protect Muhammad the Trustworthy, peace and blessings be upon him, with their lives. On the other hand each day someone from the deniers’ side was crossing over to them and Mecca was experiencing dissolution of its front. They had to find an immediate and effective solution to this problem.
One night they met at a pre-arranged place and made a decision that was worse than death. They decided that they would sever all ties with the families of Hashim and Abdul Muttalib and banish them from Mecca until they handed Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to them. They would cut all their routes, they would not marry their children with them, and they would dry up all their sources for food and drink. Since Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, did not seem to give up, the innocent would be punished along with the culprits. This decision meant that the Quraysh was going to starve the people whose only crime was to have submitted in faith to Allah. They were going to leave these people to die in the difficult conditions of the desert, thus solving the problem without having given cause to blood feuds that could possibly continue for centuries. This was similar to what one imagines concentration camps to be like today… Ultimately, this was a boycott in which the Meccans would wait for them to perish in the open field, in the silence of the mornings and loneliness of the nights, under the scorching sun and the suffocation of the desert. They also wanted their act to be sanctified so they wrote their decision item by item on a page and hung it on the wall of the Ka’ba in mutual agreement. The man who wrote these articles on paper was a man named Mansur ibn Iqrima.
What Waraqa had warned the people about was now coming to pass. Seven years after the coming of the first revelation, on a night in the month of Muharram, the Muslims left Mecca and the Meccans despite the deprivation this would cause them!
Abu Talib was again there to help. They set up tent outside Mecca, in the place of Shi’b-i Abi Talib, with meager means. Tents were made up of patchwork fabric hanging tentatively on sticks. Abu Talib’s efforts were a sight to see even though he wasn’t a Muslim. In order to prevent something bad happening to his nephew, he was devising ingenious ways to protect him, sometimes even making his own sons sleep in his bed instead.
Shi’b-i Abi Talib was a piece of bare land outside Mecca. This state of exclusion continued for three years. The troubles kept multiplying and each day saw the cries of someone in some tent. The encampment was hit by disease and the wailings from the camp were echoing into Mecca.
These were hard times indeed. The person who felt the brunt of these troubles was the most beloved of Allah’s servants, the Messenger of Allah. But whatever the circumstances, he had to continue his mission of tabligh and he had to feed the people with Divine messages. Such a whirlwind of troubles could only be overcome with a strong faith and this faith had become the banner of the community that had gathered around our noble Prophet. The traces of this faith could even be seen in those who had not accepted Islam but yet had chosen to be on his side. His followers were also showing great steadfastness in the face of all the hardship.
The tabligh had to reach other people as well. The Messenger of Allah was trying to meet people from the outside as much as possible, and was trying to communicate the Word of Allah to those he came in contact with, especially during the haram months, the months of prohibition. The same effort went for the Muslims who carried the excitement of faith in their hearts and they were putting their faith into action without cease.
Three long years of fighting hunger, aridity and disease!
What oppression was this that it knew of no respite even when it came to women, the elderly, the children, and the sick! The cries of the hungry children were echoing in the mountains of Paran…
When the Messenger of Allah performed his Prayer in the company of his Lord, he would always hear the cries of the children and the sighs of the mothers, and this pierced his heart. The enmity and rancor of the Quraysh had reached such proportions that even the Muslims’ presence seemed an affront to them, they did not want to live in the same city with them. Mecca was oppressing them with all its might and they did not give the believers the space to even breathe. The mastermind behind this oppression was again, the Pharaoh of his community, Abu Jahl. They were now only allowed to go down to Mecca in the prohibited months and they could only buy a few provisions with their meager means. The Quraysh was meeting the caravans that came to Mecca before they came into town, trying to persuade them not to sell their wares to the Muslims. Sometimes, although they did not need it all, the Quraysh would buy everything that came with caravans, leaving no options to the people in need outside Mecca. The Muslim camp had nothing left. They had endured such hardship that they were making use of anything and everything. For example, Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas who had gone to a remote place to see to his needs noticed a piece of leather. He had taken it, washed it and then cooked it on the fire to eat it. This aliment had enabled him to walk without having to bend over double from hunger for three days, and he had thanked his Lord for this easing of the pain. Such was the dedication of the followers of the Messenger of Allah. Many of them were trying to stay alive by eating leaves and tree bark and their excrement had become like that of sheep.
In this difficult period, Khadija was one of the people who gave people a degree a comfort. She wasn’t of a nature to watch what was happening and do nothing. The means she had were dwindling fast, but she knew about the market and by using her nephew Hakim ibn Hizam as middle man, she was having him send what she had secretly to Shi’b-i Abi Talib, providing some respite for the hungry. On such a day, Hakim had set out in the dark of the night and was bringing a handful of grain to his aunt. This did not escape the attention of Abu Jahl and he stopped him. How could an individual stand up against the machinated authority of ignorance? Even though he was his brother, Abu Jahl had no tolerance for different voices. He first displayed a very tough attitude: “Bringing food to the sons of Hashim are we?! I swear that you will not be able to escape me and I will not allow you to bring them food. You will see; I will shame you in front of the whole of Mecca.”

The wages of stupidity.
Tumblr media
August 23, 2021
As the Delta variant rampages across the country, MAGA covidiots continue to resist any efforts whatsoever to mitigate the death and suffering — especially among children — caused by the disease. It's what Ryan Cooper in The Week calls "the stubborn entitlement of a reactionary minority." But many of the anti-vaxxers, mask opposers and COVID deniers, who have been so eager to help spread the disease, are themselves falling victim to it. What a shame.
Wisconsin state senator Andre Jacque was recently hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19. The Republican was one of the state's most outspoken lawmakers against vaccine mandates, also opposing his governor's statewide mask mandate.
Dickinson, TX City Council member and State Republican Executive Committee member H. Scott Apley died two weeks ago due to complications from COVID-19. Apley consistently mocked vaccines and masks on social media.
Greenville County, SC Republican Party leader Pressley Stutts died last week after battling COVID-19 for nearly a month. Only days earlier, he told his followers no one should be forced to wear a mask or get vaccinated.
Dick Farrel, a rightwing Florida TV and radio host, who was a loudmouthed critic of Dr. Anthony Fauci and who urged his listeners not to get vaccinated against Covid-19, died recently after contracting the virus.
Another conservative Florida radio host, Marc Bernier, who has spoken out at length against the coronavirus vaccine, was admitted to a Daytona Beach area hospital after contracting COVID-19.
Radio host, Phil Valentine, is now in a Nashville, TN critical care unit with COVID-19. Last spring Valentine compared hospital workers asked to indicate their vaccine status on their ID badges to Jews who were forced to wear yellow stars in Nazi Germany.
Dr. Jimmy DeYoung, a conservative Christian radio gabber, died recently in Chattanooga, TN of Covid-19. In a published interview in February, DeYoung declared (among other lies) that the Pfizer vaccine would make women sterile.
We should probably also mention Catholic Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke (pictured above applauding the reaping of more souls), who has been hospitalized with COVID-19 and placed on a ventilator. The prelate had championed the bogus notion that the vaccines carry hidden microchips making individuals susceptible to government control.
Nobody wants someone else to contract COVID-19. But it's hard to muster much sympathy for the posturing politicians and propaganda pushers who enabled the virus while thousands perished. Instead, we'll quote from Clarence Darrow's 1932 memoirs: “I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.”

Will to Truth
Much is said about the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche (1844—1900). However, much is poorly understood. Nietzsche’s work stretches across multiple disciplines. He was scatty, polemic, and arrogant. His philosophy, therefore, was susceptible to being thin on the ground. Nevertheless, he was able to craft some powerful ideas. The ‘Will to Truth’ is one of them.
Truth
From Nietzsche’s early, unpublished works it’s easy to get the impression he was a truth-denier.
‘[T]ruths are illusions of which we have forgotten that they are illusions, metaphors which have become worn by frequent use and lost all sensuous vigour.’ (‘On Truth and Lying in a Non-Moral Sense’)
But Nietzsche furnished a more-mature notion of truth later in life. He did not claim that there is no such thing. Indeed, this argument is a truth-claim itself! Instead, he claimed that our beliefs do not fully correspond with how the world is.
That being said, Nietzsche was more interested in the psychology of truth than the semantics and epistemology of it.
Impulse
We have a ‘Will to Truth’, we truth-seekers. With it we are driven towards overriding old values and discarding old beliefs.
But seeking truth does not always pay: it can make us obsessive and deprive us of valuable illusions.
‘The falseness of a judgment is for us not necessarily an objection to a judgment; in this respect our new language may sound strangest. The question is to what extent it is life-promoting, life-preserving, species-preserving, perhaps even species-cultivating.’ (Beyond Good and Evil)
Society
Nietzsche thought that our current valuing of truth is a holdover from Christianity—an ideology which perpetuated the idea that truth should be sought as a moral imperative. Ironically, he claimed, atheism is ‘one of its last stages of development’.
So let us finish on this thought: the Will to Truth might overcome itself—a paradoxical exercise to unmask our ‘true’ motives, so to speak, which will derail the truth of all that we made.
‘[T]he will to truth has come to consciousness of itself as a problem . . . [M]orality will gradually perish.’ (On the Genealogy of Morality)

“If the world were a bank, they would have already bailed it out”. Such is the slogan painted by Greenpeace militants in one of their recent campaigns. It says a lot about our level of intellectual corruption that we don’t find such a line simply funny but tragically realistic. It has the same bleak degree of realism as Frederick Jameson’s famous quip that: “Nowadays it seems easier to imagine the end of the world than to imagine the end of capitalism!”.
If you call the world, I mean the world we all live in, “first nature” and capitalism our “second nature” — in the sense of that to which we are fully habituated and which has been totally naturalized — then what those sentences are saying is that the second nature is more solid, less transitory, less perishable than the first. [...] Climate scientists are using the laws of physics to register what happens to first nature while climate deniers are pitting the laws of economics governing second nature against the laws governing the Earth. […] Should we say that economists have discovered a kind of certainty, of indisputability, that is superior to the laws of physics?
Why is it the case that when you shift to second nature and its necessities come in, possibilities vanish and a deep feeling of helplessness sets in? Why is the subtext of any allusion to capitalism the sad sentence: “Sorry, there is no other way”? […] When you review this long history, it becomes clear that the history of economic thought is the history of the constant addition of protective layers to render it more and more impossible for intruders (read politicians and ordinary people) to meddle. Once protected from scrutiny it has all the contraptions of an alternate nature working automatically.
[…] We begin to see how difficult it is to disentangle the contradictory affects created by an appeal to the concept of capitalism: it generates a prodigious enthusiasm for seizing unbounded opportunities; a dystopian feeling of total helplessness for those who are submitted to its decrees; a complete disinhibition as to the long-term consequences of its action for those who profit from it; a perverse wound of smug superiority in those who have failed to fight its progression; a fascination for its iron laws in the eyes of those who claim to study its development, to the point that it appears to run more smoothly than nature itself |...]. Actually now that capitalism is thought to have no enemy, it has become a mere synonym for the implacable thrust forward of modernization. From this tangle of effects, I get no other feeling than an increase sense of helplessness.
— Bruno Latour, On Some of the Affects of Capitalism (2014)

Surah Al-Jathiyah (45:23-24)
“Desire his god” implies that one should become a slave of his lusts and desires. He should do whatever he likes whether God has forbidden it, and should not do what he dislikes, whether God has made it obligatory. When a man starts obeying somebody like this, it means that his deity is not God but the one whom he is obeying without question, no matter whether he calls him his lord (with the tongue) or not, and carves out an image of him and worship him or not. The words adalla hulla-huala ilm-in may either mean: The person in spite of being knowledgeable was driven astray by Allah, for he had become a slave of his desires; or Allah, by virtue of His knowledge that he had made his desires as his god, drove him astray. From the context in which this verse occurs, it becomes obvious that only those people deny the Hereafter, who want to serve their desires and who regard belief in the Hereafter as an obstacle to their freedom. Then, once they have denied the Hereafter, their servitude of the self goes on increasing and they go on wandering further into deviation. (45:23)
This is, there is no means of knowledge by which they might have known with certainty that after this life there is no other life for man, and that man's soul is not seized by the command of God, but he dies and perishes merely in the course of time. The deniers of the Hereafter say these things not on the basis of any knowledge but on mere conjecture (an opinion or conclusion formed on the basis of incomplete information). (45:24)

Facing Doubters, Deniers, and Defenders
Today's inspiration comes from:
In the Footsteps in the Savior
by Max Lucado
"'To understand John 3:16 — indeed to understand Jesus — this title is required reading: “... one and only Son...
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16"'
J"'esus, the one and only.
Every quality you give God, you can give Jesus.
“You aren’t good enough.”
“You’ll never improve.”
“You failed — again.”
Jesus trumps the devil’s guilt with words of grace.

In a magical kingdom far away...
Fandom: Thomas Sanders, Sanders Sides
Pairings: none
Summary:  The evil Lord Of Logic descends on the land, forcing all it touches to obey the laws of physics.
Notes: The summary is a prompt you can find here. @katie-the-noble-fangirl suggested the prompt to me a while back, and in all of my infinite wisdom, I decided that last night was the perfect time to write it. When I was drunk from a celebration. I fixed up all the typos but left everything as a whole untouched.
In a magical kingdom far away, a valiant knight wandered the capital’s streets. His name was Roman, a man who held immeasurable power and acclaim.
“I am powerful,” he said to himself, sauntering down the street like he owned it. He might have; you can buy streets and name them sometimes. If Roman bought a street, he’d probably name it Glitter Lane, and he’d encourage a royal decree to have glitter poured down it every Tuesday, because fuck any other day. “I am solid,” he said.
In the middle of this beautiful day, the sky turned cloudy, stormy. It looked like it would cry.
“Tissue?” Roman offered the Heavens.
In the middle of the atmosphere, a being emerged. He wore a cape, long and flowy, and down upon the land he descended. The magic-inclined citizens cowered, not sensing any magical flow from the new arrival. It’s like sensing Feng Shui really. You go into a house, see a couch in the wrong place, say to it, “You are a sad thing in this world,” and feel better about yourself. Maybe set it on fire.
Roman approached the figure when everyone else shied away. “Who falls into our kingdom so unmagically?”
“I am Logan. Not Wolverine. The distinction is important,” the man said.
Roman grimaced like he’d stepped in dog poo. Nasty. “And how does a Logan fall into our realm without the aid of magic?”
“It’s called gravity. Read a book,” Logan declared.
Roman didn’t read books. He just stabbed them with his sword and absorbed the knowledge through magical osmosis. Reading books was for the poor saps who couldn’t afford a magical education. And anyway, Roman had never heard of this ‘gravity’ thing before. He was a knight of magic!
“I don’t like your tone of words,” Roman said, mostly because he was confused and trying to cover it up. Honestly though, this guy was just dumb. “What’s a gravity?”
“Science,” Logan said, sweeping his arm out. He held an apple flavored jar of Crofters, the most magical jelly in all of the land. “What goes up must come down,” he said and let the jar fall. It smashed to pieces on the cobblestone road.
Roman drew his sword. “For such disregard of this yummy casualty, I must hit you with my sword until death happens. Are you prepared to die?”
“I am the master of logic. You cannot hurt me with your magic.”
“Fair enough,” Roman said and stabbed a bitch. Logan looked surprised at the blade embedded in his gut. Not like he won the lottery surprise. A bad kind of surprise. A stabby surprise. Ow.
“How?” Logan demanded, voice choked with the shame of his ancestors.
Roman smirked. “It’s just a sword actually, no magic needed.”
The sword was removed and Logan fell to his knees. His haggard breaths stuttered out, hand clutching the wound. He would have expired shortly after had a radiant light not enclosed around him, healing him.
“What sorcery is this?!” Roman screamed. “No really, who is magicking this right now? I do not approve. And I’m a knight.”
“Yo, waddup, it’s ya boi,” Virgil said, rolling up. Roman knew him as a mere stable boy. He passed by him on his daily patrols and loved to exchange in banters.
“You traitorous scum!” Roman bellowed. “How dare you heal this villain?!”
“Hear me out, but I think he might be on to something,” Virgil said reasonably. Reasonably. Disgusting.
“A denier of falsehoods?” Logan asked hopefully. He rose to his foots. Not feet. Foots! Screw you English! You’re just a mess of letters! “I never thought I’d find one here in this land so reliant on magic.”
Virgil shrugged. “It’s a life choice really. Also, ‘gravity’ sounds so metal. I want like nine boxes worth.”
“It’s…not something you really… You know what? I’m not looking you in the mouth, gift horse. I’ll get you nine boxes of gravity if you help me spread the word about science.”
“You would go against the kingdom, Virgil?” Roman accused, pointing the bloodied sword at him. It was really rude, because that wasn’t even Roman’s blood he was pointing with. He should really give it back. Hey Logan, he should really give your life liquid back.
“My life liquid?”
Yeah, that go-go juice that makes your heart go badumpy-dump.
Across land and sea, there lives a Patton who quietly murmurs, “Badumpy-dump.”
“Thanks fam,” Logan said to the author and pointed a serious finger situation at Roman. “As that blood is mine, I demand it be returned.”
Roman glanced at his blade incredulously. “Like…shove it back in?”
Logan’s eyes did a no-nonsense glare. “You would stab an unarmed man?”
“Oh my goodness, you’re absolutely right,” Roman said, as if he hadn’t already done that before. “Here you go, my mistake.” He handed over the sword.
Sword in hand, Logan turned to Virgil. “You know, I knew the people here were stupid, but are they all this bad?”
“He’s just an overachiever,” Virgil said.
“Noted.” Logan nodded and chucked the sword over his shoulder. A pained scream followed shortly after, but surely that couldn’t be related. “At any rate, I am here to teach you wayward souls. Global warming is coming, and I am a harbinger of coolness. Do you accept my tutelage? Or shall you perish?”
Virgil slapped a hand over Roman’s mouth before he could speak. “Do me a smart, oh wise one.”
“Very well,” Logan said and threw science textbooks at the populace. He pulled them out of his cape. It was like Mary Poppin’s bag, but a cape. I don’t know how it worked, but I’m sure there was a logical explanation behind it.
And from that day on, the lord of logic educated the kingdom in ways beyond the magical. Roman wasn’t very happy about it, so he quit being a knight and went into the mountains to fight bears.

Daily Tafsir of Ibn Kathir
I do not ask for any Reward for conveying the Message
Allah commands His Messenger to say to the idolators:
(Whatever wage I might have asked of you is yours.) meaning, `I do not want anything for conveying the Message of Allah to you, advising you and telling you to worship Allah.'
My wage is from Alla0h only, means, rather I will seek the reward for that with Alla0h.
and He is a Witness over all things. means, He knows all things, and He knows everything about me and the manner in which I am conveying the Message to you, and He knows all about you.
(Say: "Verily, my Lord sends down the truth, the All-Knower of the Unseen.'') This is like the Ayah:
(He sends the Revelation by His command to any of His servants He wills) (40:15). meaning, He sends the angel to whomsoever He wills of His servants among the people on earth, and He is the All-Knower of the Unseen; nothing whatsoever is hidden from Him in the heavens or on earth.
(Say: "The truth has come, and the falsehood can neither create anything nor resurrect.'') means, truth and the great Law have come from Allah, and falsehood has gone and has perished and vanished. This is like the Ayah:
(Nay, We fling the truth against the falsehood, so it destroys it, and behold, it is vanished) (21:18). When the Messenger of Allah entered Al-Masjid Al-Haram on the day of the conquest of Makkah, and found those idols standing around the Ka`bah, he started to hit the idols with his bow, reciting,
(And say: "The truth has come and the falsehood has vanished. Surely, the falsehood is ever bound to vanish.'') (17:81), and:
(Say: "The truth has come, and the falsehood can neither create anything nor resurrect.'') This was recorded by Al-Bukhari, Muslim, At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa'i.
(Say: "If (even) I go astray, I shall stray only to my own loss. But if I remain guided, it is because of the Revelation of my Lord to me...'') means, all good comes from Allah, and in what Allah sends down of revelation and clear truth there is guidance and wisdom. So whoever goes astray, does so by himself, as `Abdullah bin Mas`ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said when he was asked about some issue. He said, "I will say what I think, and if it is correct, then it is from Allah, and if it is wrong, then it is from me and from the Shaytan, and Allah and His Messenger have nothing to do with it.''
Truly, He is All-Hearer, Ever Near. means, He hears all the words of His servants, and He is always near to respond to them when they call on Him. An-Nasa0 0 recorded the H?ad0th of Abu Mu0sa0 which also appears in the Two S?ah?0h?s:
(You are not calling upon one who is deaf or absent; you are calling upon One Who is All-Hearer, Ever Near and Responsive.)
(51. And if you could but see, when they will be terrified with no escape, and they will be seized from a near place.) (52. And they will say: "We do believe (now);'' but how could they receive (Tanawush) from a place so far off.) (53. Indeed they did disbelieve before (in this world), and they (used to) conjecture about the Unseen, from a far place.) (54. And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire, as was done in the past with the people of their kind. Verily, they have been in grave doubt.) Here Allah says: `if only you could see, O Muhammad, when these deniers are terrified on the Day of Resurrection, and they have no way of escape and nowhere to run to and no refuge.'
(and they will be seized from a near place.) means, they will not even be given the slightest chance of escape, but they will be seized from the first instant. Al-Hasan Al-Basri said: "When they come forth from their graves.''
(And they will say: "We do believe (now);'') means, on the Day of Resurrection, they will say, `we believe in Allah and His angels, Books and Messengers.' This is like the Ayah:
(And if you only could see when the criminals shall hang their heads before their Lord (saying): "Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back that we will do righteous good deeds. Verily, we now believe with certainty.'') (32:12) Allah says:
(but how could they receive from a place so far off) meaning, how could they attain faith now that they are so far removed from the place where it could be accepted from them, and they have entered the realm of the Hereafter which is the realm of reward and punishment, not the realm of trial and testing If they had believed in this world, that would have been good for them, but now they have entered the Hereafter, there is no way that their faith can be accepted, just as there is no way a person can get a thing if he is far away from it. Mujahid said:
but how could they At-Tana0wush? means, How could they attain that? Az-Zuhri said, They will wish to attain faith when they have reached the Hereafter and are cut off from this world. Al-H?asan Al-Bas?ri said, They will seek something when they have no way of attaining it, they will seek faith from a distant place.
Indeed they did disbelieve before, means, how can they attain faith in the Hereafter when in this world they disbelieved in the truth and denied the Messengers?
(and they (used to) conjecture about the Unseen from a far place. ) Malik narrated from Zayd bin Aslam that he said:
(and they (used to) conjecture about the Unseen,) means, "By guessing.'' as Allah says,
guessing at the Unseen )18:22(. Sometimes they said he was a poet, sometimes they said he was a soothsayer, or a sorcerer, or a mad man, or other baseless comments. They denied the idea of resurrection and said:
(we do not think it but as a conjecture, and we have no firm convincing belief.) (45:32). Qatadah and Mujahid said, "Their belief that there would be no resurrection, no Paradise and no Hell was based on mere conjecture.''
(And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire,) Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Ad-Dahhak and others, `This means faith.'' As-Suddi said:
(And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire, ) means "Repentance.'' This was also the view of Ibn Jarir, may Allah have mercy on him. Mujahid said:
(And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire,) means, "This world and its wealth, luxuries and people.'' Something similar was narrated from Ibn `Umar, Ibn `Abbas and Ar-Rabi` bin Anas, may Allah be pleased with him. It is also the opinion of Al-Bukhari and the Group. The correct view is that there is no contradiction between the two views, for a barrier will be set between them and what they desire in this world, and what they seek in the Hereafter will be denied from them.
(as was done in the past with the people of their kind.) means, as happened to the nations of the past who disbelieved in the Messengers; when the punishment of Allah came upon them, they wished that they had believed, but this was not accepted from them.
(So, when they saw Our punishment, they said: "We believe in Allah Alone and reject (all) that we used to associate with Him as (His) partners. "Then their faith could not avail them when they saw Our punishment. (Like) this has been the way of Allah in dealing with His servants. And there the disbelievers lost utterly.) (40:84-85).
Verily, they have been in grave doubt. means, in this world they had doubts, so their faith will not be accepted from them when they behold the punishment with their own eyes. Qata0dah said, Beware of doubt. For whoever dies doubting, will be raised doubting? and whoever dies believing, with certainty will be raised believing with certainty. This is the end of the Tafsir of Surah Saba'. Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, is the Guide to the right way.
