A LIFE SERIES X GENSHIN AU?!?!?! TWO OF MY MAJOR FANDOMS AT THE MOMENT??? AN IDEA I'VE PONDERED OVER MYSELF ON OCCASION?!?!?! YES PLEASE!!!!!
I'd LOVE to know your thoughts on who has what visions and/or weapon classes!!! Or, if there's plot to this au, I'd definitely find that interesting too!!! Basically, whatever you want to share, I'm excited to hear about! (Your piece of Jimmy receiving his vision is so cool btw!!!)
THANK YOU SO MUCH :))
Here's a list of everyone's vision/lack-of and which region they're originally from, I might organize it in a different way later but for now these are subject to small change when I get past chapter 1 of the fic!
Jimmy- Khaenri'ah (Residing in Snezhnaya) - Cryo
Grian- Khaenri'ah (Residing in Mondstadt) - Anemo
Pearl- Khaenri'ah (Wanderer/No Loyalties) - Pyro

BigB- Khaenri'ah (Residing in Sumeru) - Hydro

Doc- Fontaine - Electro
Xisuma- Liyue - Visionless
Etho- Snezhnaya - Cryo
Bdubs- Inazuma - Anemo
Cleo- Wanderer/No Loyalties - Delusion Holder
Gem- Liyue (Residing in Mondstadt) - Hydro
Xloy and Pix- Fontaine - Both Visionless
There's some vague plot-talk under the cut, not too many spoilers tho! I have no much planned and there's way too much I have drafted to spoil in one post anyways 😭
It doesn't take Genshin lore 100% straight, there are some plot points, characters, and events that are changed/straight up don't exist to make the story flow better and make more sense (also Genshin is extensive as HELL and there are virtually a million things going on at the same time).
While the plot is about the Evo group as a whole, the story itself mainly follows Jimmy, as he and Lizzy work to become harbingers. Why are they fatui? How are the main 5 from Snezhnaya yet the plot takes place in present-day Tevat? How did they get there? Why aren't they together? These are all questions that'll be answered through the fic or as I update on my silly little blog :) !
(And to not hype you up too much, I AM A BAD WRITER! TERRIBLE EVEN! Ive written 1 chapter already but I'm still trying to find a beta-reader cause I'm too nervous to post it 😭)

WOW Long time I didn't do a weird crossover!! :D (like 5min)
I inspired myself from @starkkawajiri Genshin x Marvel Doc Strange variant! I love the idea of Aggravate reaction for a Supreme Strange Variant in genshin :))) Don't forget to follow their works! Their design and Lore idea are awesome!!! 👀(the other Strange here is their Variant btw)
[Spoiler] In 4.2 Main quest we learned than gnosis are cursed energy so... What if this version of Stephen used the electro gnosis plus his dendro vision to resurrect his Christine? 🤔 (Spoiler it didn't work) Searching to use archon's power he cursed himself and turn into an half dragon something like this? If gnosis are dragon's energy 🙌 Of course he distroyed a whole island/country and stole a gnosis so the gods trapped him to punish him.
Dendro and Electro Catalyst so? I design him a signature weapon as a cursed and not cursed Agamoto's eye. I still didn't have idea for his whole kit but maybe something around aggravate reaction 🤷‍♀️
I supposed like what if Strange he's a shielder, healer, buffer, sub dps, main dps /o/

You are an amazing adventurer— visionless, but amazing nonetheless. Others had said (your people from Sumeru), that being a visionless adventurer is like a knight without its swords, but you have proven them wrong. You cultivated multiple skills, be it in the swords, in using polearms or any weapon it is, you had also cultivated your adventuring skills such as navigation and mapping; the skills under your belt are enough to pick up top tier commissions without any hassle.
Of course, being visionless means you’re more prone to injuries, so you have to always make do with passing doctors or medicine you produce yourself using wild herbs, yet nothing beats Baizhu’s medicines. You could still remember the day you first went to his pharmacy; it was raining, you had asked the locals if there’s any place that will tend to injuries and they directed you to Bubu Pharmacy.
Once you reached the Pharmacy, you could see a little kid behind the counter and almost cursed the locals for lying but then a green haired man, with a rare white snake around his neck, emerges from the back.
“I'm sorry but we’re close dear customer, you can come over tomo—”. Baizhu took in your haggard appearance, your green cloak clung to you; the rain drops below your feet mix with red and your alarming paleness were enough to make Baizhu ran over towards you, when your knees caved in.
Next thing you knew, you’re staring at an unfamiliar ceiling and you could feel bandages wrapped around your stomach, directly below your left ribcage where you were stabbed.
“Do you want coconut milk?”.  Your eyes snapped to the pale child beside you, her eyes expressionless. You were going to ask her what’s coconut milk when the man from before came in with a pitcher.
“How are you feeling?”. You draped the blanket over you, as you sit up. You shrugged your body, trying to get a feel and as you were doing so, the doctor examines you briefly. When you realize that your body feels much better you gave him your biggest grin and a thumbs up.
“Feels great doc!”.
Then ever since, you had decided to stay in Liyue. Of course, your reasoning was mostly on how rich, historically and, literally Liyue is but you can’t possibly admit that you stayed because of the quiet and handsome doctor. You made sure to visit Bubu Pharmacy every single time you have any injuries or illnesses and over time, you realized that you had caught feelings over Baizhu. He was gentle and you were obnoxious both in your volume and your incessant flirting, it was obvious that you like the doctor.
“Baizhu? Are you here?”. You walked into the pharmacy, and there you could see him sitting beside Qiqi, instructing her on how to make the medicine. The dendro vision holder looks up at figure clad in a green cloak he knows very well and gives you a smile, his eyes crescent.
“Welcome back”. Hearing those words, some of the fatigue straining your body were lifted as you approach the counter.
“Where are you hurt again (y/n)?”. He asked, standing up and leading you to the room at the back for his patients. You pat Qiqi’s head before dragging yourself to the room, where Baizhu sat on a chair by the bed. You sat down, taking off your cloak and show him your wounds, though they’re not huge and gnarly, you have multiple cuts and slashes on your arms and legs. You let Baizhu tends to you while you tell  him stories of your adventures. Every single time, Baizhu would listen, at times he would ask questions or look at you in disbelief because how the hell did you get caught in such situations, but most of the time he would listen quietly.
He enjoys listening to you, your presence brought him joy and serenity but he could never tell you. Not with the illness he has, he can’t let himself like someone to much or even fall in love.
But, you were so… loveable. Your flirtations were constant but you were never scared to show him how much you love him. He was also amazed at the fact that you’re vision less yet you’re so fearless, unlike him. That’s part of you that he envies so much, because unlike him, shackled by an illness, incurable and unknown, you’re so free and filled with life.
Once he’s done with his treatment, you rummage through your bag and took out a white string decorated with various colors of green stones. You hand it to Baizhu and he examined it, trying to understand what is it.
“Its for your hair”. You said, as he stared at it, the stones were beautiful and it glimmers under the light. It’s too beautiful for him but he knew that rejecting your gift would be useless. All the gifts and letters from when you remembered him on your journey were kept safe in a box. He smiled and thank you for your gift, making a mental note to keep the hair tie in the box later.
“Can I tie it for you?”. You whispered, a blush staining your cheeks as you gaze at him with those eyes filled with adoration. A pang of guilt reaches his heart when his mouth almost utter rejection. Its not that he dislikes your gifts, he was just afraid that the feelings he kept safe in his own box would burst open. He nodded and smile, as you give him a grin, and gently reaches towards his braid.
With a slightly shaky hand, you reach towards the end of his braid, unconsciously rubbing his hair between your fingers. You untie the one on his hair and with skillful hands, you tie the beautiful gems around his hair. Once you’re done, you show it to him and Baizhu took the end of his hair into his hands and inspects your work. His green hair compliments the stones well and he thank you. Feeling the heavy tension in the air, you jokingly asked him out for dinner in which he, time and time again rejects you. Telling you that there’s a policy he has to follow as a doctor, and you only laugh and nodded, though deep in your heart, you understand the ‘policy’ were merely sweet words.
Then you were off to your next adventurer.
It was another rainy day, and you were back from your adventure. It has been two weeks since you last seen him and you missed him so much. Once you reach the pharmacy, there was a heaviness in the air, as if telling you to be careful. From the counter you could see, Qiqi, reading on her little book, the notebook you gave her the last time you were there. You smiled as you ask.
“Where’s the doc?”. The pale child points to the back and you give her a pat as a thank you. You went in and there Baizhu was organising his medicine, you cough, indicating your presence as his head whips towards you. You give him a huge smile, and usually he would give you his but this time, he nodded curtly. Your heart stinged at his cold welcome but shrug the thought off.
“Please sit down on the bed”. Something is amiss because Baizhu would usually say “welcome back” but here he is, tending to your wounds silently, a somber look on his face. You tried making jokes but he only nodded while focusing on his work. For the first time, the patient’s room were silent and you could only stare at him when you noticed that he was not wearing the hair tie you gave him.
A sharp pain reaches your heart but you shook your head, trying to make excuses. Once he was finish, you thank him as he mutters a no problem. You palm the smooth gem in your pocket, wondering if it’s the right timing to give it to him. The thing is, you have to give him because you are going for a very long journey, a journey for him.
“Hey Baizhu, are you free after this? Let’s go have dinner together yeah?”. Baizhu stares at your smiling face and shook his head.
“Sorry (y/n), I can’t go. I have something to do”.
“Aww come on!”. You approach him, pulling at his forearm. “We haven’t eaten together for so long! Besides there’s something I wanna gi—”.
“Just stop”. Baizhu pulls his arm from you, trying to walk away. It has been a long day, rude customers and his painful illness has been consistently attacking him throughout the day. He can’t afford to flirt and entertain you right now.
“I’m sorry Baizhu if I was too forceful, but the thing is I have to g—”.
“Stop it! I told you I have something to do!” Baizhu raises his voice as you step back, shocked by his sudden anger. You were going to apologise when he turns around, face red and filled with anger.
“I am so tired of you! Your incessant flirtings are so distracting and I… I can’t afford to be distracted!”. He clutched his chest, hissing as he continues.
“Why can’t you just stop? I have an illness to cure and you’re just…”. Baizhu sighs, trying to control his emotions and keeping his anger at bay. He knew, that you don’t deserve to be the one receiving his anger but everything is too much.
And you? Your head hung low, lips trembling as your nails dug into your palms. You took in a deep breath and look up, meeting his eyes as you give him a forced smile.
“I understand Baizhu.. I’m sorry again”. You whisper as you walk past him, and out of the room. Baizhu could only see your green robe flutter away as he curse at himself. Baizhu’s hand reaches his head, and fisted his hair, frustrated at the turns of event. He needs to apologise, he thought.
So he quickly get out of the room, trying to reach you again but as he passes the counter, he saw a stone. A green stone, he recognizes as aventurine. He knew instantly that it’s from you and guilt swarmed him all over. The meaning of the stone sinks into him, along with the relationship he denied ever since.
---
Months had pass since your disappearance, and his remorse had attached to his heart like a lock. On the second month, he knew that something was wrong. You never took this long and even if you do, he would have receive a letter. No letters came, days and night waiting for your letter, for your fluttering green cloak; yet nothing came and after the third month, he decided that this time; he’s going to find you, apologise, bring you out for dinner and continue the routine the both of you once had, between a patient and a doctor.
So Baizhu set out for Sumeru, your hometown. Once he reaches Sumeru it was already night, and he believe that nothing good will come from rushing, so he check into a place to stay. When the morning comes, he asks one of the local for a place to have some coffee, and the local suggested Puspa Café.
The aroma of coffee reaches his nose when he opens the door to the café. He looks around, trying to find a place to seat when he saw a familiar robe. His heart beat increases, excitement and relief pumps through his vein. Without much thought, he reaches towards the robed figure sitting down and places a hand, startling the figure.
“(y/n)?...”. The figure turns around and its not you. “Sorry, I thought…”
“Doctor Baizhu?”.  Baizhu’s face changes into confusion, wondering how someone from Sumeru would know his name. He nodded, when the robed person, a lady in her teenage years smiles and offers him to sit.
“I know you! Master (y/n) talked about you all the time; I thought my ears would fall off. How are you, Doctor Baizhu?”.
“I…I am doing fine. I’m sorry but Master (y/n)? are you…”
“Yes, I’m Master (y/n) apprentice! Thank you for always tending to my master’s injuries. Master told me that you’re an amazing doctor and—”.
“I am sorry for interrupting but do you know where (y/n) is? It has been months…”. The girls face turns into sadness, the light she had, dimmed when she realize that Baizhu didn’t know. She stood up, confusing Baizhu who’s follows her movement.
“Come.” Baizhu in his confusion, follows despite his instinct telling him to stop. An instinct that he’s going to get hurt.
The girl lead him to a place where vast field of greenery feasts along his eyes, a single tree stood around it and a small house a bit faraway from it.
“Go to that tree, I’ll come with you soon, I need to get something”.
Baizhu nods in understanding as he walks towards the tree. He didn’t see it at first; the tombstone was covered by the tree.
May the shade bring serenity and peace for the brave soul beneath it, (y/n)
Baizhu read the etchings on the stone over and over again. Trying to understand what was etched and his brain had accepted it, but his heart can’t seem to fathom the thought that, that’s your name written there. That under this tree is you, that the (y/n), his (y/n) is gone. He had to held onto the tree, sliding down as his trembling hands reaches for your tomb stone.
“Master left you this”. The girl said, as she gives Baizhu a brown box and left him to look into the contents of it. Baizhu holds the box, somehow heavy despite the contents only being a piece of letter and an unfinished bracelet, one aventurine missing from it. Baizhu could feel his chest tightening, as he opens the letter.
To my most, dearest Baizhu,
If you received this letter then that must mean that I’m gone. Now, now don’t you cry your handsome face off! Only smiles and laughter should pass those lips. I’m sorry for not coming back to the pharmacy for so long, I was in search for these aventurines. You see, a friend of mine told me that these stones have healing properties and I thought that it would be great for you! Though you’re a doctor, I’ve seen how frail your body is and well… I’m not a doctor so I can’t create a potion for it but I’m an adventurer! Please wear them and I pray that these stones can ease your pain, albeit a little. Baizhu…may I call you my love here? It doesn’t matter anyways; I'm dying so I will. Baizhu, my love, you held my heart in your palms ever since you wrapped those bandages on my body. I’m sorry for all my doings that annoys or disturbs you, it was not my intention love. I am so sorry. I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you all this in person but I am a coward and my body is not strong enough to travel back to Liyue, but please. Please Baizhu, don’t you dare blame yourself, you have been a light, a love though unrequited but a love I received through your soft touches and tender words. So please, live a long, healthy life for me and continue helping others. The letter has gotten too long, I’ll wrap it up here. Thank you Baizhu, I love you. I love you. I love you.
P/s: Pat Qiqi’s head for me!
Baizhu held the letter to his chest, his tears had long wash over his face from the beginning of the letter. You’re gone. You’re gone and you had loved him, and he knew but you… you never knew the love he held for you. He loves you too and he could only whisper to the tree of his love for you.
“(y/n), oh my (y/n) … I’m sorry…”. He wailed into the wind, the pain of your death triumph the pain raging through his fatigued body. In his tears, with a trembling hand he attaches the last aventurine onto the bracelet as he ties it on his left wrist.
And it was instant, the stone glow, and the pain he felt in his body dissipates, and he knew, that it worked, that though he can’t understand, but he knew its more than the stone. This final gift of yours were filled with so much love, it healed. He stares at your tombstone; a small smile grows on his face.
Yet why does the pain in his heart stays? And why is it growing? That will be a question that lingers along with him in life.

Tumblr media
In advance, I apologize to those who have already seen this post. I've had to transfer it to a new blog thanks to a seemingly permanent ban on my former main blog, @niicevibe. So this is just copy & paste from there. Sorry!
Tumblr media
Self-indulgent, targeting my brief stint as a backpacker where I literally took plants from everywhere I went back home to my mama, and also where I nearly got electrocuted because I thought doing this with a lightning storm on the horizon was a good idea?? Disclaimer: I never claimed to be, nor will I ever claim to be, smart.
pairing -> tighnari x fem!reader
warnings -> sfw; not beta'ed (i’m a coward); mild description of ptsd symptoms & injuries; mild nudity (nothing mentioned); a couple of suggestive parts? it’s pg-13 really; hurt & comfort.
character mentions -> cyno, collei, the traveler (as lumine), shirin (forest ranger doc)
word count -> 3.9k
Tumblr media
You have a stupid look on your face. He knows it, without even having to turn around in his seat to confirm it. He even knew it had been you without turning, not that you made a proper sound upon entering his forest home, but the way you had shuffled in without a word, your steps hesitant but wanting, before the wood frame for his bed had creaked just loud enough to stir him out of his concentration. Now, minutes have already passed with your silence, the occasional shuffling of material against material being the only sound you make.
“________, welcome back,” he finally calls. You hum, but it sounds muffled from his end of the room. “… you’re staring again, aren’t you?”
“You think so?”
“I know so.” You chuckle at this.
“No one likes a know-it-all, Tighnari.”
“You do.”
“Heh, that’s true.”
There’s a small break of silence between the two of you, besides the resumed scratching of his quill against the parchment and the distant chatter of the forest rangers. It is a patient silence, one the two of you often revel in whenever there isn’t any field work to be done, a rarity considering your professions.
Tighnari, the chief officer of the Forest Rangers, a Forest Watcher, and you, a young, nomadic adventurer with a love for all things nature— your paths crossing had been coincidental, with him on a routine patrols through the Avidya Forest and you completing a strange commission from the Guild for a Akademiya student looking to create a stronger, more robust fertilizer for improving vegetation that had you hunting down Hydro Slimes. You’d been so enthralled with the idea of being able to grow and harvest crops at a more opportunistic rate that you took the commission on in a heartbeat, beating even the Traveler to it through your enthusiasm alone, that you’d forgotten to watch your surroundings.
At the time of when he came across you, you laughing as you crawled out of your unconsciousness after being targeted by a small group of floating fungi, he could hardly blame you for being taken by surprise after a hearty explanation for your presence.
“Wouldn’t it be amazing if this worked? It could be brought to other lands where plant growth is near impossible! Like, Watatsumi Island!” You’d laughed again, the excitement in your eyes near uncontainable.
But your injuries were no laughing matter. You’d been victimized by the elements of Hydro, Dendro, and Pyro, your clothing and hair scorched and your arms and calves blistered from burgeon. It took a long time for your injuries to heal that had you unable to leave Gandharva Ville, but in that time, you had found a friend in its chief. Your first few weeks in Sumeru prior to the incident had been most eventful, and Tighnari was ever pleased to learn that you didn’t arrive here ignorant to nature.
“The problem is with these adventurers is that they think wherever they go, they can act first and think later, but who does that help? Especially when the one’s who’ve received Visions think they’re suddenly the greatest because their flames can take care of enemies fast, or their lightning can increase the jumping power of a mushroom— nature is not something to be parasitized. It’s embarrassing that they think so little of it.”
He couldn’t have agreed more.
You’d never actually been to Inazuma thanks to the Sakoku Decree their Raiden Shogun enacted, so you’d only heard about Watatsumi’s situation, and in wanting desperately to see the unknown plant life that you’d yet to see unlike those from the rest of the seven nations, as well as desiring to one day be able to be a liaison for this soil-experimenting Sumerian, you jumped ship from your volunteer position with the Forest Rangers to jump on a ship for Ritou. If not for you having a Vision of your own, Tighnari would have highly debated chasing after you once he’d learned why you left.
Inazuma was not unlike the stories you’d heard from the more seasoned adventurers you’d spoken to. How even the earth was charged with Electro elemental energy thanks to the various ley lines hidden beneath it; how the Sacred Sakura tree of the Grand Narukami Shrine had grown out its roots throughout the region and spread its seeds in the form of sakura blooms— but the only things you were really concerned over were collecting enough of a soil sample to bring back to that Amurta student, and most importantly, collect a sea ganoderma that “grew” on Inazuman shores.
Are they alive? Or are they a type of fungus? How long does it take for one to “spawn”? Considering the numbers in which they appeared, you had these and many other questions to ask. And naturally, you needed samples to bring back with you, not just for your curiosity’s sake, but as a gift for Tighnari, as thanks for all that he’d done for you. Supposedly, he’s never seen one in person before. You only wish he could have gone with you. Despite his own duties, he found himself wishing he could accompany you, too.
Tighnari didn’t expect you to be back so soon, however. Knowing what the distance was between Liyue Harbour, the main port of which you would have to embark on your journey from, and Ritou, the main port on Inazuman soil you would arrive at, and what items had been on your itinerary, he expected you back in Gandharva Ville in no sooner than nine days, two of those days being used for sea travel. It’s only been four, something that only clicks in when you’d just sighed.
“______,” Tighnari calls, his tone almost too flat to be considered pleasant; you flinch. “Come over here, please.”
“… but your bed is so comfy,” you mumble tiredly, despite being wide awake.
“I don’t want to have to stop doing what I’m working on if it’s nothing, so come here— please.”
Game over, you think miserably.
In the five months since you began staying with the Forest Rangers, you learned full well the extents of which Tighnari’s wrath could take. Now, since you’ve already been back during this small time without saying a word, or even joining him at his desk to properly greet him (even though he could’ve just turned around for a second, you think), his initial suspicion has slowly elevated into the situation before you. And as you rise off of his bed and trudge toward him, you instinctively begin preparing yourself for an earful.
Heaving a sigh, you turn at the last second to lean against the edge of his desk to the right of him. Tighnari gives himself a moment, sparing a breath down at his half-written letter to finally look at you. His lips part almost instantaneously, his forest-like eyes widening in response to your bodily visage.
“I-It’s… not as bad as you think,” you’re quick to try and explain, but he’s already on his feet, chair pushed back to make room for his close quarters pacing. “Tighnari, calm down…”
“Don’t tell me to calm down,” he says sharply, but there isn’t any bite to his words— you can tell this much by the way his tail anxiously sways back and forth behind him.
“… sorry,” you mumble. You clear your throat lightly when he decides to lift your arms up by your wrists, three fingers from each of his hands dragging them upward and between you. But this hurts. The way you wince proves it. Carefully, Tighnari lowers your bandaged arms back down to yours side, but not before casting your shoulder a look of disdain. “Tighnari?”
He looks away from you instead to rummage through one of the drawers of the cabinet next to you. “Go and sit on the bed,” he instructs you. “Take your shirt off.”
You instantly flush with heat. “H-Huh? Why?”
Scoffing lightly, “I’m redoing your bandages.”
“O-Oh… but they’re brand new. Don’t waste your supplies on this…”
“They’re not good enough,” he murmurs. Briefly turning to you, he slips a couple of fingers beneath the top layer of bandaging. “See? This should be tight but breathable. You might die from an oxygen overdose with this wrapping job.”
You can’t help the snort that escapes you, in time for him to begin corralling you back to his mattress.
“It’s a shame how you and the General Mahamatra bicker so much when your jokes and comebacks can be just as lame,” you say, allowing him to lower you back down. He shoots you a look. “But on the topic of the bandages… I guess I’ll have to inform Shirin of her most unsatisfactory work,” you mumble to the side, though your one eye remains on him. Three words catch in his throat, an offended, “I didn’t mean—” slipping out before he cuts himself off with a small huff. You can’t help the even smaller giggle that escapes you.
“I know you didn’t mean that. I was lying, anyway. I did this myself with my own two hands—” when you raise them for emphasis, you end grimacing at the harsh, crackling electrical burns ending at the base of your palms. “Ah, well, maybe that was a bad idea in itself.”
“Wait, is that—?” Tighnari’s eyes move past you and toward his nightstand, where sitting in a carefully sealed glass case sat the blue sea plant. “A sea ganoderma?”
“Yessir,” you say, tone proud. “I almost died getting this one, but it was one of the purest grown! Right next to a lightning sakura tree, sharing the same oxygen and minerals and nutrients and still growing under such a condition? Inazuma is amazing, Tighnari— oh, you’d love it.”
“A lightning sakura tree?” he repeats, his ears dropping into a furl. “When you say you “almost died”, do you mean these injuries are from—”
“Yes, but I’m alive, and that’s what matters here.”
“______. You know how I feel about you downplaying your injuries. You were electrocuted. Are you alright?”
“I…” At the softened look on his face, you pause. You hate worrying him just as much as he hates when you hide getting hurt, but his expression is so sincerely concerned that lying to him about the extent of your injury seems almost blasphemous. “I-I’m not… okay. That’s why… I came back early.”
Another brief moment of quiet allows for Tighnari to collect himself, saving you from that earful you feared.
“… I’m at least glad… you had the common sense to do that,” he says, joining you at the edge of the bed. “Quite unlike the first time I met you that you’d gone and done things on your own with that commission of yours.”
At this, you laugh, though the pressure on your back makes your skin ache.
“You’re friends with the Traveler, aren’t you?” He nods. “Didn’t she ever tell you that I stole that commission from her?”
Tighnari shakes his head at you while helping you to unzip your shirt from the back. “No, but certainly sounds like something you’d do.”
”Hehe.”
He lays your shirt in a neat fold near the foot of his bed, draping it over the edge, only to turn back to you and sigh.
“What a mess.”
“… is it really that bad of a job?” He sends you a knowing look over your shoulder. “In my defence, I was doing this on a moving ship, with no mirror.”
“I don’t know if it could’ve been done worse.” He pulls off his gloves, finger by finger. ”Hold still now; I’m going to unravel it and I don’t want to hurt you.”
Skin flushing once more, you nod. “… o… okay.” He fully disappears behind you, shifting on the bed to get comfortable, and in the corner of your eye, you spot the tip of his tail swish into view rather rapidly. “You… don’t have to be nervous,” you murmur, unable to raise your voice much higher considering your position. “I-It’s just me.”
Tighnari hums, though in a higher octave than normal. He touches your one shoulder with the tips of his fingers, silently alerting you when he begins undoing the poorly tied knot at the back of your arm. How did you even manage this? he wonders, brows knitted. Unable to pry it apart, he ends up snipping it off with a small pair of shears.
Naturally, this isn’t the first time he’s had to take care of you. Before, and in the more serious cases, he had Shirin’s help, being the doctor of the Forest Rangers. Burns and burgeons, accidentally drowning in trying to fetch a patch of nilotpata lotuses, falling down hills and receiving scrape over scrape scars, that time you were ran over by a sumpter beast?— you were covered in old injuries, your curiosities always getting the better of you. Despite his grand disappointment in you each time you’d returned battered and beaten, hands full of your bounty, but grinning as if you’d won some great prize, he’d take care of you, a willing aide to your obvious self-sabotage.
But this time, somehow, it’s become more intimate than it is professional.
Maybe it’s the fact you were in his room, sitting on his bed, just the two of you rather than Shirin or Collei assisting and watching in the infirmary. He’d always been conscious of the fact that he found your level of curiosity and love for nature fascinating— idiotic, too, no doubt about it; he could no longer count on his four limbs how many times he’s had to try and talk you out of your latest, most hair-brained ideas. But even as you returned to him, to see him — “I was just passing through to Mawtiyima, but I wanted to visit you first!” — the lecturing became less aggressive, his choice words for you having less of a sting to them as they left his mouth.
He didn’t have to call you a dummy anymore — “I am well aware of my shortcomings, but where’s the fun in being careful? I promise, Tighnari; I’m not purposely injuring myself…” This much was already painfully proven, pardoning the irony. At least, he stopped using the word as an insult. It became affectionately said, Tighnari finding himself further and further down into the hole you dug where you always seemed content to wait for him.
“You know, there’s probably a reason she’s so patient for you,” Cyno once pointed out, post-visit to Collei. “You, and your lack of sense of humour.”
She did call my jokes “lame”, didn’t she, Tighnari recalls glumly, ears flattening, but as if having made a one-hundred-and-eighty degree turn less than five seconds later, they perk up. If he’s right, than what is that reason?
“It’s just me”, you’d said. Well, that appears to be the problem at hand, now, doesn’t it?
You find yourself grateful for the warm air swarming the Avidya Forest. With your upper half bare to the emptiness of Tighnari’s treetop hut, you surely would have caught another chill like you did back in Inazuma. Although, perhaps not, considering this time, you had company.
You don’t inherently mean to do it, but shrinking forward and into yourself had seemed like the appropriate thing to do while Tighnari finished undoing your poor bandage work. Your hands, which still tingled from the effects of your electrocution, found their way to holding onto your knees, steadying your racing mind from focusing too hard on how soft his fingertips felt against your scalding flesh.
Oh, you truly could ignite on the spot, if only your Vision would permit it.
You had only held onto two regrets from committing yourself to a life of journey and adventure. The first, was you leaving your loved ones behind (without a word, mind you; you knew full well they would try to stop you at every turn), and the second appeared after becoming acquainted with the Forest Watcher sat before you, knowing you could never stay in one spot and love him as hard as your heart desired. He grew on you as fast as an oyster mushroom, his stubbornness and straightforward demeanour something you looked forward to seeing only every time you could.
Tighnari doesn’t even realize he’s paused, hands hovering between him and your bare back, his eyes glued to the fractal scarring spanning from the top of your spine downward, smaller tendrils curling around your arms. They’ll fade, he knows this — his have already started to, according to Cyno and Shirin — but seeing them on you? He’s seen your hurt in one too many ways. But this…
“Tighnari,” you whisper, turning your chin over your shoulder to see him, lips parting in response to his obvious distress. You’ve never seen him so… so appalled; so stiff, as if he’d been rooted to the very earth beneath him. “T-Tighnari, I—” you reach toward the end of the bed to grab your shirt, ignoring the pain searing along your shoulders and pressing it against your chest before turning fully to him. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry I wasn’t careful. I-I was cocky; I thought I could dodge it, but that plant, it… it was so stuck, I—”
“Just… stop,” he whispers, stilling, his breathing slightly laboured, “for a moment.”
You suck in a breath of your own, an attempt to get yourself to remain silent. The expression on his face, you realize after taking a moment to study it, is near unreadable. But why does he look like he’s seen a ghost? you adamantly wonder. It takes you so long to realize that not a look of horror or shock… but one of recollection. One of remembrance. One of fear. Eyes trained on one of the violet crackles adorning your arm, his ears suddenly twitch, almost as if something takes him by surprise or shocks hi—
Wait… shocks?
It’d dawned on you, painfully slow. If it wouldn’t have hurt the rest of you, you would’ve given yourself a smack to the forehead.
Things couldn’t have made more sense now, his silence uncharacteristic and, if you were to be honest, a little disconcerting. You loved hearing him speak, even if was for the reason. You’d never seen him so quiet over one of your injuries before, but this is the first time you’d gotten yourself so obviously hurt by the Electro element. The marks crawling across your upper body were dark and prominent and fresh— Tighnari hadn’t seen his as up close, only through the reflection of two mirrors, their image distorted by the angles. It’s different, seeing them how the doctors at Pardis Dhyai must have after the incident; how Cyno must have when he came to check on him.
It’s different seeing them, because now, they’re on you, too.
“… is that… why you were away for so long before?” you dare to ask, voice barely above a whisper. “You were hurt?” He doesn’t answer, but his eyes have a tell.
You don’t apologize again— you know there’s no point; he already knows how strongly you empathize with him. Pressing your shirt more firmly against you, you lift yourself a few inches closer to him, and raise your spare hand to rest against his cheek. He blinks, easily more times than necessary, but it brings him back into having enough focus to look up at you.
Your gaze wanders across his face, searching; waiting. Always waiting, for him. Your bottom lip is pinched so tightly between your teeth that a split has appeared near the center of it, and somehow, it triggers a reaction in the young Forest Watcher, his own hands rising from his lap to hold you, to run a thumb from one of his smooth hands across your lip.
“… please don’t hurt yourself more,” he pleads, his voice hoarse. “Not for my sake.”
You instinctively run your tongue over where you'd sensed the sting, Tighnari barely moving his finger out of the way in time to avoid it— his cheeks tint rouge at the thought.
Your own cheeks grow warm when you tilt forward to touch your forehead to his. His eyelashes flutter until his eyes shut, the comforting touches you supply slowly bringing him out of his panicked state, and subconsciously, his tail swishes toward you, quick to curl around your calf.
“For your sake, I’d do anything, Tighnari.”
Tumblr media
“I… I think you should apply to the Akademiya,” he says, lightly pulling at the bandage to stretch it before wrapping it twice around your bicep.
Enough time had passed that you both finally agreed that having you sit half nude on his bed wasn’t exactly ideal (though, for as hard as he tried not to once conscious of his staring, it wasn’t exactly easy to watch you turn back around). And so, with the salve still fresh and pasted across your skin, Tighnari got to work, adept fingers moving quickly to wrap your torso up so you could face him again.
“Why’s that?”
“Well, with all of these commissions you do, not only the ones for Sumeru, but all over Teyvat, that have much to do with ecological betterment experiments, you’ve gained that experience and first-hand field knowledge— coming from an Akademiya alumnus, I think you’d be the ideal Amurta applicant.”
“Tighnari, please,” you say, your lips curled upward toward your warmed cheeks. “I know it’s probably not your intention, but you’re fluffing my ego too hard…”
He chuckles at your clear enjoyment of his words. “My master is the current sage… If you are ever interested, it would be easy to ask him to put in a word of recommendation for you. I could even write a letter, myself.”
A laugh escapes you from being slightly overwhelmed by his suggestion.
“You know, I-I never thought about it before. Surely I’d have more opportunities to work in nature and learn about medicinal plant cultivation, which I’ve always loved…” Tighnari snips the bandage from the roll and sets the tools back down to tie off the strip. “… have I held myself back, under the belief that because I became an adventurer, I’d just stay an adventurer, forever? Taking commissions, making mora— that’s not at all what I wanted from this…”
“You’ve been an adventurer for a while now,” Tighnari reminds you. “And while you’ve had time to think about it, that doesn’t mean you’ve come to any conclusions. But that’s fine, too, of course. Do you know yet, what it is that you want for yourself?”
Your eyes meet. “I want to do so many things, Tighnari,” you say, smiling. “What you do here in the Avidya Forest, for example. What that fertilizer experimenter commissioned me for, for the purpose of bettering the lives of everyone and not just himself? Discovering new plants and fungi and finding out their uses? Helping people? This forest? Oh, I want all of that for me desperately.”
Beneath the glow of the lanterns lit around his room, you fondly note the sudden rosiness to the soft apples of his cheeks.
“Then starting here… wouldn’t be such a bad thing, would it?”
“Starting here… with you… you mean?” He nods, his tall ears bobbing with him. You find your grin widening, and before he can stop you (not that he would), you place your hands on his cheeks and draw him close so as to press kisses from his cheekbones and down to his lips, lingering there just a little longer. You pull back in time to witness a fog-like daze pass over his reddened face. Giggling, “It would be the best thing.”

Al-Haitham x Reader: Coward
only in Al-Haitham's perspective, reader makes a short appearance and is implied to be missing in action
────────────
Al-Haitham is a coward.
The Scribe of the Akademiya is a coward.
The savior of Sumeru’s deity is a coward.
No matter where Al-Haitham is, or what he thinks, he’s a coward true and through. And as he stands in the Grand Bazaar’s stage, with his newfound ‘friends’ celebrating the reinstatement and the saving of Lesser Lord Kusanali as the archon of Sumeru, Haitham could only remember the expression on your face when you last saw him.
The traveler smiles, speaking in a feminine, child-like voice.
“Everyone, it’s me.”
A soft, adoring smile adorned the traveler’s facial features as she placed her hand over her heart.
Paimon shrieks, and immediately the Scribe begins to tune out the conversation.
“My, I didn’t expect to be having a conversation with the consciousness of Lesser Lord Kusnali in the Grand Bazaar,” He glances at Nilou expectantly, “How interesting. Was this also planned for the feast?”
Nilou shakes her hands in front of her face, replying to Al-Haitham, (who bitterly shakes his head) “No, no.. of course not!” She turns towards the traveler with hesitancy, “are you.. are you Lesser Lord Kusanali, then?”
Lumineー or Nahida, who's occupying the traveler’s body, giggles, “Hello, Nilou,” Nahida gives a short wave.
Taking a step back, Nilou gasps, “You.. you know me?!”
Al-Haitham turns away, tuning out the conversation slowly, but Cyno nudges his shoulder, “The least you could do is pay attention. It’s our archon for Celestia’s sake, show her some respect, Al-Haitham.”
Opting to not respond, Al-Haitham silently glances at Cyno, and Cyno returns the glare.
Dehya stares at them with a pensive look on her face, mouthing, “Not the time for this.”
Cyno relents, breaking the eye-contact between them, “No need to be so ceremonious, Lesser Lord Kusanali, it has always been my duty to protect you.”
Al-Haitham scoffs, “That’s how the relationship between the Akademiya and our Dendro Archon should be like,” Remaining with a cold poker face, Haitham takes a jab at Cyno, “but we just did what was necessary to set things up on the right path.”
Dehya ignores Al-Haitham’s jab at Cyno, and adds on to Cyno’s sentence, “You’re an Archon, but you act so humble. You really don’t need to be..”
Dehya’s words mash together in a distorted way as Al-Haitham drives his focus away from the conversation at hand. Even when faced by a deity, he's still focused on you, and you alone.
No matter what he’s done or what he’ll do, he won’t ever escape your grasp, the hand that’s holding him by the neck and cornering him into a loss. Something the Scribe doesn’t experience daily.
He remembers a time late after everyone had finished with the graduation ceremonies, where everyone went home, rushing to find a position in the Akademiya, or maybe still studying late at night in the archives of the House of Daena.
Al-Haitham remembers finding you sleeping with obvious eyebags under your eyes, and he felt sympathy for you.
How many nights have you spent like this? He wondered. How many times have you fallen asleep, your brain calling to the comforts of sleep? The freshly graduated Al-Haitham looks down at you with (once again) sympathy.
Sure, he was your past so-called academic rival, just in different fields, but he realised at that moment when you both argued about the morals of the Akademiya, that you both were kindred spirits.
You both took different paths, but arrived at the same solutions. While he believes that humans are naturally bad, and choose to do good things to better mankind, you believe that all humans were born kind, but choose to do the wrong things.
“Scribe, and what makes you say that? Why are you commenting on moral philosophy when you’re a Haravatat graduate?”
Al-Haitham rubs his temples furiously, “Suddenly, I’m not allowed to have opinions anymore, as dictated by you, my supposed ‘equal’.”
You shook your head in discontentment, “Maybe, just maybe, Scribe, you should try to stay in your own lane, and not question the ethics and morals of the Akademiya,” you say, tucking your hair into your ear, “I represent the Akademiya, I reinforce the ethics and morals of the Akademiya. You just have to sit pretty and write down the important things for archon’s sake, I swear, you truly are impossible..”
Al-Haitham shakes his head, mocking you in that subtle way that he always did, “You expect me to back down, and bend over for the Akademiya,” His lips previously in a thin line were now turned downwards. Al-Haitham stares at you with amusement pooling in his eyes, and he folds his arms in that weird way he had always done.
“You’re.. you're kidding me. Right?” You stare at him, a bewildered look in your eyes, “you certainly can’t be serious.. A high ranking position at the Akademiya, who doesn’t share the same morals as the Akademiya for Greater Lord ... sake! Next thing you’re going to tell me is that you have the utmost respect for Lesser Lord Kusanali!”
Closing his eyes, Al-Haitham curtly replies, “You’re not wrong.”
At this point, Al-Haitham can imagine that you were pulling your hair out with a furious look in your eyes. That’s how it’s always been, hasn’t it?
But he opens his eyes, just to see you staring blankly, without reason and without a shine in your eyes.
His eyes narrow in on yours, and you simply shake your head, “I should’ve expected someone like you to defy the Akademiya,” you said, a deflated tone in your voice, “maybe you are just better off as a scribe, huh..”
Al-Haitham watches you walk away, he was ultimately the victor of this, ‘pleasant’, conversation, but he certainly didn’t feel like one.
Intrusive thoughts echoed throughout his head as he walks away from the House of Daena:
Coward. Why was it that you always needed to fight [Name]? They were like you, stubborn, but more emotional. You should have just backed down for once. You’re such a cowardー remember those roommate posters you put up after graduation? It had to have been for [Name], but you got cold feet, didn’t you. You had to have picked Kaveh, just because you didn’t want to see [Name] walking around your house, you would’ve caught feelings, huh? You already caught them. So what was the point, Scribe?
Al-Haitham is snapped out of his thoughts of you when the traveler approaches him after the feast.
“Oh? What do you need me for, Traveler?”
But in the end, Al-Haitham is still a coward. He is many things, but he is a coward, true and through.

mak / kai. she/they. 18+. est. independent GENSHIN IMPACT MULTIMUSE ft canons and ocs. selective & activity will vary. feel free to send any questions, ims are open, and discord is available to mutuals! unaffiliated with fandom.
active blogs: shackld, mischiiefs, damagecompilation, ojustice, insamsara, dcgfight, dominihilist, angeliicon
RULES / MUSES
OCs currently without a doc but still available:
Kaito / 20 / Agender (He/they) / FC: Zero from TOF / Pyro Claymore / A blacksmith living on the edges of Fontaine, Kaito isn't interested in trials or entertainment but rather the steady flow and trustworthiness of his work. Short but strong, calm but merciless, he isn't a fan of people messing with him and will make swift work of tresspassers.
Haoyu / ??? / Genderfluid (Any) / FC: Lee from Arknights / Hydro Polearm / A Fatui Agent formerly from Liyue but now living underwater in Fontaine, Haoyu is of dragon-origin and finds nothing sweeter than the down-on-their-luck victims begging for more time to pay off their debt. He also knows quite a bit of healing magic, but doesn't use it on just anyone. Why would he heal someone he doesn't like?
Arjun / 23 / Demiboy (He/they) / FC: Ethan from Arknights / Dendro Catalyst / Arjun is a chameleon-hybrid, currently studying in the Akademiya. Thanks to his ability to camouflage into his surroundings, he can relatively get by with ease and not worry about anyone interrupting his studies. A blessed ability too, considering what he's researching most would try to stop. The dead should stay dead, but Arjun wants to push that boundary and see if the dead could walk again. He's always been surrounded by it, death, thanks to a plague that wiped out his village. He'd been taken in by the Akademiya, who told him he shouldn't feel bad for being the sole survivor but Arjun was the opposite of distraught. He was thrilled, he was curious and soon shot up his class by drive alone. It was around that time that some students noticed some of their stuff has been going missing, Arjun using his camo to his advantage to do anything to get ahead and fund his research. But he couldn't do this constantly so he turned his attention to those who wouldn't notice. The dead he was trying so hard to revive and dug up every so often, taking their things as well as trying out his experiments on them.
Shouya / 20 / Cassgender (He/they) / FC: Aak from Arknights / Pyro Catalyst / As a young boy living on the outskirts of Inazuma, Shouya's homelife wasn't the best but he managed. With cruel and strict parents, it often drove him to his limit and one harsh night was when he received his vision and then the house (and his folks) quite literally burst into flames with his bottled up emotions and there, in the ashes, the villagers around found one feline boy grinning and laughing like it was the funniest thing ever. Regarded like the devil, Shouya left soon after that, vowing to himself he'd never bottle anything up again even if that meant leaving scorch marks and ashes everywhere he went.
Roch Fournier / 19 / Agender (They/them) / FC: Tabito Karasu from Blue Lock / Anemo Catalyst / Born the youngest in a huge family, instead of being spoiled like the babies often were, Roch was treated as the spare. Always the last to be picked, the last to be in the know and had every secret and inside joke kept from them. Their siblings treated them as the scapegoat and parents seemingly forgot they were there. And one day, Roch just had enough and left one night as it wasn't like anyone would notice otherwise. But the kicker was, it wasn't that they were always chosen last but rather, it only felt like it and Roch was just stuck in their own delusion that they were always the victim and didn't notice the array of missing person posters that arrived the morning after. They were gifted with an Anemo vision the moment they chose life for themselves however, but instead of training with it in combat, they manipulated it to their will and learned how to carry people's voices on the wind so they'd always know what was being kept from them. Soon, they knew everyone's business everywhere and used this to become an info broker and be the top dog for a chance.
Feliks / 25 / Demiboy (He/they) / FC: Horropedia from Reverse 1999 / Visionless
Former Fatui soldier but got gravely injured on the field (havent thought about where/how yet) so he retired very young
Still remains in Snezhnaya, doing odd jobs for the Fatui that call for a lighter or stealthier touch
Kind of an errand boy / gofer
But is pretty much a genius when it comes to blending in and working undercover
Jack of all trades, The Idea GuyTM
Designed the blueprints for the skirmisher's weapons
Doesn't have a vision but tbh he doesn't need one

@aisr      /     aether & sylvie!
“Mmm — the plants worry about you,” a voice says — the sound is curious, loving.  When the traveler glances up towards the source, he’ll find a small child, not more than eight, sitting upon a branch in the tree he passes under.  She gazes down at him, eyes curious.  “Do you get in a great deal of trouble, monsieur?”

“is this what falling in love feels like?”
— scaralumi
lumine is looking at him. shit— his palms are sweaty, for some reason. (he doesn’t even have a heart, but why does his chest feel like it’s constricting?)
in which scaramouche discovers what falling in love, feels like.
“i’ve been feeling weird, lately.”
“could you specify more on that feeling?”
“…i don’t know,” scaramouche frowns. it’s foreign, new and absolutely nothing like he’s felt before. tighnari purses his lips at this reply and hums.
“i mean— it doesn’t happen all the time, just… ocassionally.”
“and this happened while you were in the forest?” tighnari queries.
“yeah. but i’ve been here before. it’s not like i’m not used to those weird ass mushrooms,” scaramouche scoffs. “the withering has little to no effect on me either.”
tighnari frowns. if it wasn’t the spores from the mushroom nor the withering zones affecting this man, then what was it?
he mentioned symptoms of random heart palpitations, stomachache but without the constipation— and a slight fever, but only on his cheeks?
tighnari sighs.
was there some sort of new mushroom species he hasn’t discovered yet?
“could you tell me when this started so i can align the timeframe?”
maybe there were more secrets to the avidya forest that he hasn’t discovered yet, or maybe scaramouche has been hallucinating.
“uh— ‘bout a week ago.” scaramouche nods. his symptoms are gone now, but it distracts him more than he thought it would when it randomly appears.
“were you alone by then? no researchers around?” tighnari suspects the usage of incense, maybe that would’ve triggered the indigo-haired male.
“no researchers,” scaramouche shakes his head. “just… her. and that stupid floating glutton of hers.”
‘her?’ tighnari blinks. was he referring to lumine?
“was lumine there to see your symptoms?” tighnari flips his notebook to another page.
“she was— i think she noticed it first,” scaramouche scratches his cheek. “then she took me here. ‘said you’re the best around.”
tighnari warms at the comment.
“tighnari!” lumine knocks a few times before entering, a small smile on her face while she greets the male. “how is he?”
oh.
it’s back— the symptoms are back.
scaramouche feels his stomach churn, but it doesn’t hurt. he places a hand against his stomach in concern before shifting his attention to the blonde.
“you’re here,” tighnari waves and nods. “i’m still trying to figure out his symptoms, but perhaps you could help.”
“me?” lumine points at herself and blinks, while tighnari nods.
“he mentioned the symptoms started while you were around. maybe your elemental skills had triggered something around the forest, or maybe scaramouche himself.” he deduces, and lumine walks closer to scaramouche.
“my elemental skills? on him?” lumine’s only a feet away and scaramouche feels his heart race.
goddamnit— it’s coming back. the uneasy feelings felt by his body, and when he turns to look at her, their eyes meet and he feels his ears stain pink.
“doc.” he mutters, hand on his cheek to feel for warmth. the heat that radiates confirms it.
tighnari raises an eyebrow at the nickname.
“it’s— it’s back.” scaramouche frowns. “i don’t feel well.”
lumine frowns, looking at her palms to see if she had been unconsciously releasing dendro energy. there’s no pulse where her ‘vision’ lies, and her elemental sight isn’t activated, so— why?
“please, take a seat,” tighnari directs scaramouche to his bed, settling him down and fishes for his notebook. “care to describe what you’re currently feeling?”
“just like i said before,” scaramouche mutters, irritant in his tone. “it hurts, right here— (he points to his chest,) and then there’s that stomachache. like i swallowed a bunch of crystalflies.”
“i… feel warm, too.” scaramouche places a hand against his forehead and frowns. tighnari hums, taking a step back to summarise his thoughts regarding scaramouche’s conditions so far.
“i told you relying on your hat wasn’t going to save you from the rain,” lumine moves towards scaramouche, settling down on the bed beside him with a worried scowl. “now you’re sick.”
she says, worry in her tone akin to a mother doting on her child and places a hand against his forehead. she invades his personal space like it’s secondary to her nature, and scaramouche flinches at the sudden contact.
her hand is cold, and he can feel his cheeks warm up.
“y-you— you’re the reason why i’m like this!” he points an accusing finger at lumine’s bewildered face.
“m-me?” lumine points at herself, appalled at the accusation. “what did i ever do to you?!”
“…i don’t know, but you— you better stay away, because these.. these damned symptoms keep showing up when you’re near.” scaramouche stands, frowning. “you better take respons—“
“…i figured it out,” tighnari turns, tail wagging slightly with an innocent smile on his face. “heart palpitations, sudden increase in temperature, randomised flutters in the abdominal region—“
“my brother scaramouche, it’s called ‘falling in love’.”
“…”
“…you’ve got to be kidding me.”
— end.
