9 Steps to Hiring the Best Demolition Contractor Company
Hiring the right demolition contractor is crucial when it comes to demolition projects, whether it's a residential renovation or a large-scale commercial development. Choosing the best demolition contractor can distinguish between a smooth, efficient process and a costly, time-consuming ordeal.
In this blog, we will walk you through nine essential steps to help you find and hire the best demolition contractor company for your needs.
Step 1: Define Your Project Requirements
Before starting your search, clearly define your demolition project's requirements. Specify the scope of work, budget, and timeline for fulfillment. Be specific about special considerations, such as environmental regulations, permits, and safety precautions. A clear understanding of your project will help you communicate effectively with probable contractors and ensure they meet your expectations.
Step 2: Research and Make a Shortlist
Start your search for the best demolition contractor company by conducting thorough research. Look for local corporations with a proven track record in destruction services. Seek recommendations from friends, family, or other professionals in the construction industry. Online reviews and ratings can also provide practical insights into a company's reputation and reliability. Create a shortlist of possible contractors based on your findings.
Step 3: Check Credentials and Experience
Once you have your shortlist, verify each demolition contractor's credentials and experience. Ensure that they hold the necessary licenses and permits required by local authorities. Check their insurance coverage to protect against any liability during the project. Look for a company with extensive experience in handling projects similar to yours. Experienced contractors will likely have the expertise and knowledge to navigate potential challenges and deliver high-quality results.
Step 4: Request References and Portfolio
Ask each shortlisted demolition contractor for references from prior clients. Contact these references to gain insights into their experiences with the contractor. Inquire about the company's professionalism, punctuality, communication, and overall satisfaction with the completed projects. Review the contractor's portfolio to see examples of their past work. A reliable and reputable demolition contractor will have no issues providing references and showcasing their successful projects.
Step 5: Safety Measures and Compliance
Demolition work can be hazardous if not handled with proper safety measures. Ensure that the demolition contractor company prioritizes safety and complies with all relevant safety regulations. Inquire about their safety protocols, employee training, and the use of protective equipment. A company emphasizing safety demonstrates professionalism and concern for its workers and your property.
Step 6: Obtain Multiple Quotes
Request detailed quotes from at least three demolition contractors on your shortlist. The quotations should include a breakdown of the costs, materials, labor, and additional expenses. Compare the quotes carefully to ensure you understand what each contractor is offering. Keep in mind that the cheapest option may only sometimes be the best choice. Consider the quality of usefulness, experience, prestige, and cost.
Step 7: Communication and Customer Service
Effective communication is crucial for a successful demolition project. Pay attention to how responsive and communicative each contractor is during the quoting process. A contractor who answers your questions promptly and provides clear information demonstrates their commitment to excellent customer service. Choose a demolition contractor that values open communication and maintains transparency throughout the project.
Step 8: Review the Contract Thoroughly
Before finalizing your decision, thoroughly review the contract the chosen demolition contractor provided. Ensure that all project details, timelines, costs, and warranties are clearly stated in the agreement. If you have any problems or queries, address them with the contractor before signing. Signing a well-defined contract protects both parties and sets expectations for the project.
Step 9: Monitor the Progress and Provide Feedback
Once the demolition project is underway, monitor the contractor's progress regularly. Keep communication lines open and provide feedback as needed. A good demolition contractor will be receptive to feedback and make necessary adjustments to ensure your satisfaction. Celebrate the successful completion of your project with the demolition contractor who met or exceeded your expectations.
Conclusion
Hiring the best demolition contractor company in London requires thorough research, clear communication, and careful consideration of their experience, safety measures, and customer service. By following the nine steps outlined in this blog, you can find a reliable and skilled demolition contractor that will make your project successful. Remember that investing time in choosing the right contractor will lead to a smooth, efficient, and satisfactory demolition experience.

London's Victorian architecture must be preserved, not demolished
Looking across a bustling Holborn towards Gamage's department store during its sale circa 1907. People are seen browsing outside the shop with motor cars and horse-drawn buses on the street. A W Gamage started a small shop on Holborn in 1878. The shop expanded becoming the department store seen here. Gamage's closed for good in 1972 and the building seen here was demolished in the mid 70's, another handsome building lost to the planners.

No because that hurt me! Lando Norris x Girlfriend! Reader Part 2
Plot: Lando goes one step too far ...
As you'd promised you'd gone straight back to London, you thrown yourself into your work. You spent the days on the construction sight for the new house you were flipping, overseeing the progress. You spent the evenings in the studio working on more plans for the interior of the house.
But you did miss him, of course you missed him.
He was your person ...
Your guy...
The love of your life.
In the time that you'd come home however, videos had surfaced, many videos had surfaced...
The first was of you and Lando in the club, someone from a table across from the one your friends had been sat in showed how Lando had acted towards you and how his friends had tried to back you up. The next was of you running up to Alex, begging for a lift.
Afterwards, videos were leaked of the rest of Lando's night where he celebrated his win, by dancing with his friends and random girls that were being pulled into the big group. Nothing scandalous but enough to upset the fans who really liked you.
Later on, after the first few videos came out a video came out of Max Fewtrell and him arguing before him and Pietra left. Max actually pushed him a little and lots of hand gestures were flying round, but Lando looked just as angry as Max did.
Normally when you were in London, people knew they'd get content on your Instagram stories of you doing what you do best. People had suggested you to start a YouTube because your live's and reels were so funny that they'd definitely spend the time watching.
But you'd been dark since the argument with Lando and people were getting worried including Lando. So when you posted a titkok with your team, in the trend that AstonMartin did where the camera is up high above and you all do funny things, the media went crazy.
You then posted a video on instagram talking about the new house and the progress that was coming on.
"Hey guys! Y/N here! Just wanted to show you how the latest project is coming on. We've torn down the living room and put all new flooring in, which actually has built in underfloor heating which i think here in the UK is a real money move. We're going to hook it all up to a central network from the hallway as you walk in, which we finally finished the painting for that last week" you pan showing the round the areas you'd been talking about.
You showed you and one of the girls tearing down the kitchen.
Captioned 'Best Part of the Job, Free Rage Room', which is how you'd always referred to the demolition phase of house flipping. People on twitter of course took it out of context and rumors started flying that you and Lando had in fact called it splits, even one of those WAG update pages 'confirming' the breakup from close sources.
You'd found it laughable really, but you knew it would be hurting Lando, and no matter how much he hurt you ... you weren't a bitter person. You didn't want him hurting as well.
You were sat in your studio at your desk, sketching for the garden. The pen was currently in your mouth, sat back debating whether you should reach out to Lando or wait for him to come to you.
It had been three weeks at this point with no communication. You'd spoken to Lando's family, who had talked with you about everything that had happened. Cisca and Adam had apologized for their sons behavior.
As you were about to pick up your phone, caving in to messaging Lando first when you swore you wouldn't on knock on your wooden studio door sounds.
You frown, wondering who on earth would be coming to you at this time of the night. You weren't even open, office hours were long over. It was about 11pm, so your clients knew you weren't taking calls even though you were still here and working with a light on.
You open the door, bolt and latch on for added protection.
"Lando?" you ask seeing the curly haired boy, hoodie up and his eyes looking more tired than you'd ever seen them.
"You want to open up and let me in baby?" he asks softly, a slight crack to his voice.
"I was just about to call you" you admit, unlatching the door so it swings open fully. He stops just under the arch of the door observing you. It was like he was having a small inward debate with himself.
"Gonna cave coz you miss me?" he jokes, testing the waters. He didn't know how you were now that you'd have some time apart. He was hopeful that he could talk to you again and fix what had happened.
"Honestly yeah. I hate you and how much of a hold you have on me" you admit, leaning back into your chair directing him to the sofa.
"I came here, to say I'm sorry and that I was horrible to you. And I know it's not excuse but I want to explain what happened. In full... I think you deserve more than an explanation... but I think you need one for if we are ever going to go back to what we were" he sighs. He leans forward and takes your hand into his.
He explains how, after the race people told him you'd said you were leaving the race track. So he went to the hotel to find you, only for you not to be there, Max came round and said you were probably getting ready with the girls as P had told him you were all gonna meet them there.
"I didn't think this was too out of the ordinary for you, your especially close with P and Lily, and it wouldn't shock me if Kelly and Kika would drag you all into a girl pre-club party in their hotel room..." he laughs knowing that normally you and P would do each other's makeup when Max and her came to race weekends. Or you and Lily would switch outfit's loving to venture into each other's styles.
When he got to the club and no-one had seen you, and Pierre and Charles had come up to him with celebratory shots, he hadn't declined.
"The shots were the start of what slowly just went downhill, I don't think i ever want to drink that much again, I was so happy at the start" he laughs flushing red and the thought of him knocking back shots, which was rare considering he didn't like to drink. He wouldn't be doing it anytime soon that was for sure.
"You deserved to celebrate though baby, don't make it seem like you shouldn't have had a fun night" you admit, both of you were being open and mature adults right now. You were so glad you'd both spent some time apart to think before you fought more, now you were both talking and listening to each other and you couldn't help but think it was beautiful and intimate.
After the three hour mark he was fed up that you hadn't bothered to show up at such an important night for him. Talking to Charles and Pierre who were also drunk, weren't the best influences on suggesting places you could be. All of them being ones his drunk mind could picture vividly, his sober mind would have known his girl would never dream of doing that to him.
"Charles said some things and I know sober me would have known you wouldn't do that, but i was already angry thinking you'd just ditched me. I shouldn't have drunk as much and I know its no excuse... but" he starts and you nod.
"The main thing is you know how you would have acted. Yes you upset me, yes your hurt me because you said some horrible things to me..."
"Yeah, I've heard the video and It wasn't my intention to embarrass you the way I did, especially in front of our friends. I'm so so sorry!" he admits.
The other group, had tried to convince him that maybe you'd just got held up and thats where Oscar, Lily, Max and P had all messaged you.
"Baby, I'm so so sorry that i wasn't there for you after what happened!" he says tears in his eyes. This would forever be one of his biggest regrets in life, not being there for you when you needed him.
"How did you find out?" you gulp, not really wanting to think about what could have happened that night if it wasn't for the Mclaren Mechanics.
"Well, after having a scolding from Oscar, and Max, and Alex, and Zac... the mechanics also threatened to botch my pit stops. So i listened to what they did for you"
"Mmmm it was scary. All i wanted was you" you nod, rubbing a thumb across his hand.
"I'm so so sorry, I promised you that i'd protect you always. And I've failed!" he says with a little snivel and tears brimming his eyes.
"You've not failed, you just made a mistake, there's been some miscommunication and Charles and Pierre didn't help with their boyish meddling but ... we'll get there" you smile before pulling closer to him and nuzzling into his neck breathing in his sent.
"Do you think you'll ever forgive me?" he asks softly pulling you back so he can fully look at you.
"I already have, darling" you smile.
"What did i ever do to deserve you, I don't think i do" he smiles.
"Hmmmm, well I think the historians will argue one day its me who didn't deserve you" you sigh, brushing some of his hair back.
"I doubt that" he scoffs, knowing that when you first started dating, even with your lack of status people still thought you were too kind, too sweet and too innocent for someone as jokey and brash as Lando was seen to be.
"I've never had anyone treat me the way you do, I'm so so in love with you. And I don't ever want the feelings I have when i think of you and see you to stop. I feel like i can do anything when i have you by my side. Why do you think the first person i seeked out was you?" you offer, softly leaning in and placing a kiss on the corner of his lips.
You guys, talked more that night. About how you actually had fun helping the Mclaren boys pack up, regardless if you thought Lando had forgotten about you.
A week later and the media had picked up on the sighting the paps had got of both of you. Some fans had seen you both at a restaurant and make posts on it.
The comments bashed you either way, being between saying how silly you were for taking him back or the others saying they were upset you were back. It got to the point where you had to release a statement saying that you and Lando, are grown adults who can talk through the miscommunication and issues you'd experienced and were better for it now.
"I love you so much, and I'm never ever ever acting up like that again" he says as you help him do up his fire suit for the race you were currently at with him.
"I love you too, now go out and get another win for me baby so we can celebrate properly this time" you smile, kissing him before Jon comes forward asking for Lando's presence in the front of the garage.
A/N: I hope you guys think this did the first part justice as so many people requested a Part 2, so I'm really scared that this hasn't done it justice! If you want a rewrite with something better... something longer where its more of a series. Or where it goes the opposite way and it takes her longer to forgive him let me know. I just thought that Y/N and Lando in this one specifically would be the type to maturely talk about things!

Trellick tower London.
Opened in 1972, it was commissioned by the Greater London Council and designed in the Brutalist style by architect Ernő Goldfinger
Goldfinger was known as a humourless man given to notorious rages. He sometimes fired his assistants if they were inappropriately jocular, and once forcibly ejected two prospective clients for imposing restrictions on his design.
A discussion on a golf course about Ernő with Goldfinger's cousin prompted Ian Fleming (the writer of James Bond) to name the James Bond adversary and villain Auric Goldfinger after Ernő—Fleming had been among the objectors to the pre-war demolition of the cottages in Hampstead that were removed to make way for Goldfinger's house at 2 Willow Road.

Pluto's time period analysis
Posting this like a month late but here, spoilers for episode 83 of Nevermore
Disclaimer: this is all speculation, and nothing has been confirmed to be canon yet
I narrowed down the time period Pluto lived in to roughly 1923-1928 based on panels shown in episode 83, panels will be talked about in the order they're shown in the episode. Assuming Pluto's backstory plays out similar to the events in the Black Cat story, it's more than likely this is the year he had died as well.
To start, there's two distinct landmarks seen outside of Pluto's window which are the Blackpool Tower, and presumably the Blackpool Giant Wheel. The Blackpool Giant Wheel is what holds signifance in regards to the time period episode 83 takes place in. The wheel was closed in October of 1928, with demolition had started in November of the same year.
Meaning that this episode would have taken place at the latest, October of 1928.
The train ticket Pluto holds, beside it is a real life train ticket from the same line, the LM&SR. This railway was established in January of 1923, this also includes the specific line connecting between Blackpool and London. This would put the earliest Pluto had been alive in the beginning of 1923.
Even though the real life train ticket is from 1927, it shouldn't be taken as evidence of when the episode took place
The photo of the Eiffel Tower Pluto holds also resembles real life photos of the Eiffel tower from the 1920's.
Lastly Pluto is shown holding a box of Black Cat cigarettes. While this particular brand was around long before the 1920's, they were incredibly popular during this time up to the 1930's. This is also a nod to the story Pluto is based on, The Black Cat.
With that, the time period would be narrowed down to January 1923 at the earliest, and October 1928 at the latest.

The Filthy 13
We were a filthy bunch of people since we were only permitted one bath a week because of the water shortage…and that was set up for Saturday. Come Saturday I wanted to [be] right in the middle of that Red Light District in Piccadilly Circus in London. I did not want to be standing in line waiting for a bath. As soon as me and my boys got passes, each of us would just grab one set of those ODs and put them in a sack and away we went. We would go in our junk clothes into one of those Red Cross buildings over there in Regents Square in London. We would go in and get us a shower, shave, and shine, change clothes and boy, we had one or two women before any of the others even got into town. We would then raise Cain until Monday morning. So they were getting to call us the "Filthy 13." Thirteen men was the number of men in a demolition section.

Chapter one: The Apple Doesn't Fall Far
I'm so excited to share my new WIP. It's already pre-written at 58k!
Tags: Sad Wet Cat Crowley, Flirting over planning permits, Parish Councils, Bickerflickering forever
---
Down-and-out Crowley moves to the sticks to save his late aunt's cottage from demolition, but when he finds out that Councillor Aziraphale Fell isn't quite so keen on the demolition he is supposed to be in charge of - the two of them scheme to save the cottage as they uncover that sometimes the key to the future lies in preserving the past.
However, when feelings bubble up, can their relationship survive if on the surface they have to pretend to be working against each other?
--- Excerpt
“Your aunt left you something in her Will.”
“Left me something? Money?” Crowley’s eyes lingered on the bills before he downed the expresso, and set about making another.
“Something like that. There is a bit of a problem.”
And all he thought was of course, there always was.
That was his life. He could see the Book of his Life: Anthony J. Crowley, gold-embossed and tied with a red ribbon. Inside, every page, the word: "but..."
He could have his flat in London, but he couldn’t afford it. He could find his dream job, but he’d get fired. He could fall in love—or at least think he had—but... A sharp pain shot through his chest, nausea rising before he pushed it back down.
"But" had been seared onto him since the day he was born.
Crowley stared at the strips of daylight peeking through the window, and the jeans crumpled on the floor. He had planned another carefully curated day of misery: reality TV, wine, sleep, repeat. This routine dulled the pain that sat in his chest like a fire that would never be extinguished.
Inside, the four walls held him close and safe, keeping the blaze at bay. But even he knew his ability to keep the flat was dwindling, what with the extortionate bills and sky-high rent in one of London’s most expensive neighbourhoods. It had seemed such a good idea to buy here when he was at the top of his game. He hadn’t anticipated the fall.
Yesterday he’d sloped back to the cornershop under the judgemental eyes of the shopkeeper who must have noticed the uptick in Shiraz sales over the past few weeks. Crowley bought two bottles, and a tub of ice-cream.
Two bottles of wine, he decided, seemed like the kind of thing someone with a partner or a friend might buy. Three is too much, and one is suspicious. One screams: 'I am home alone and filling my days with alcohol and sleeping'. Two gave the air of someone who might be sharing their life with someone; not that he wanted to do that again.
Those bottles were riding around in his stomach this morning like a waltzer he wished he could get off.
Crowley pushed the receiver back up to his ear. “Wot something? Wot problem?” His head was too foggy for this today.
“I suggest you come in, Mr. Crowley.”
Read chap one here.

141 w/ Armored Titan Male Reader
A/N: ok, I know I said I was working on a CoD/Star Wars series, but I kinda forgot about the draft I barely worked on after a while and now I’ve been on a AoT kick lately, so hope this is an acceptable substitute. For a little world building, you were created in a lab with Titan abilities and the lab was raided, Laswell learned about you and had you spirited away to the 141. Both to help them on their missions and to ensure you don’t end up being used as a weapon by certain generals in the States.
Price
When Laswell told him she was sending him a young man with the ability to turn into a giant, he was worried that she’d finally gone off the deep end and was actually planing on staging a kidnapping so she’d take some time off.
Then when he finally met you and saw you turn into the Armored Titan, he was blown away by the sight of 15m giant with more armor than a tank appearing out of thin air.
He didn’t know what to make of you, a young man barely old enough to serve in the military that’d spent his entire life cooped up in a lab and being prepared as a weapon of war, but Laswell said she’d owe him big time for this and she always makes good on her promises.
Plus, when he saw your record, he couldn’t help but take you in. He has a thing for strays and is bad for collecting them for his prized task force.
When you completed your first mission, he knew you were staying with 141 and he’s fight tooth and nail to keep you. Seeing you smash through enemy defenses like they were nothing and crushing enemy troops like they’re bugs is a sight he’d never forget.
Gaz
When Price told them they would have a giant on their team, he thought his captain meant König would be a permanent member on 141. Then you were shown to them, easily the shortest person in the room.
When you demonstrated your ability on the training grounds by turning into the Armored Titan before all of them, he was speechless. One moment, you’re some scrawny looking kid and the next, you’re a bulky beast that towers over them.
He was interested in knowing how you came to be and asked Price, who handle his your file. When he learned that you were nothing but a lab rat for all of your life and now had nowhere to go, he reached out, offering you someone to talk to and showing you how to live outside of a cold, dark lab.
Obviously you were confined to the base at night for safety reasons, but as long as you had an escort, you were allowed to leave during the day. During that time, he would show you around London, pointing out important landmarks and tourist attractions.
He’ll always treasure the first mission you went on with them, charging through the enemy base and shrugging off small arms and explosives like they were mosquito bites. That was probably the first mission where all the enemies were killed and no one on 141 fired a shot.
Ghost
Oh boy, when you first met him, he scared you more than the scientists and their endless poking and prodding.
And this man already has MAJOR trust problems. The moment he realized that you could turn into the Big Unfriendly Giant due to a paper cut, he was demanding Price end you back to the States.
At first, he wanted nothing to do with you. You get anywhere near him and his gaze scorched you more than exposed Titan flesh.
Then, your first mission happened. After they collected the info they were after, a few hostiles realized you were a distraction and turned their rocket launchers on their position, but before impact, you shielded them with your hand, absorbing the blast and crushing the shooters like they were bugs.
After that, he decided you were owed a little trust. After all, you are a part of 141. (Also, watching you break through an enemy compound was like fucking beautiful.)
Soap
You ever see a child on Christmas morning? That’s exactly how this hardened soldier looked like.
As a demolitions expert, he’s obsessed with being able to deal the most damage to an enemy, leaving them with absolutely nothing worth salvaging. And here you come, being able to do that like it’s nothing!
Of course he’s a little wary of you, but he prides himself on being a good judge of character and seeing you as some poor kid whose whole existence revolved around being the ultimate weapon, he welcomes you with open arms and convinces his team to give you a chance.
No matter the mission, he’ll ALWAYS demand to be on your shoulder as you charge through an enemy base, pancaking hostiles and their equipment like they were bugs. Mostly because he loves watching you deal the kind of destruction he can only dream of, but also because he loves getting to ride on a giant.
Seriously, even on base, he’ll BEG you to give him a ride.
