Demo (TBA)
Content warnings (This IF has situations and themes that might be distressing to others): mentions of death, depictions of bodily harm, body horror, gore, anxiety/panic attacks, stressful scenes, claustrophobia, violence, car crashes, amaxophobia, astraphobia, use of weapons (guns, knives, etc.), explicit language, and sexual content though this is optional.
Dark smoke curls all around you, the black ash clogging up your nose and choking your throat. The sound of sirens is muffled in your ears. The base of your skull feels like it's split in two, a sharp pain blooming on the back of your head. Your eyesight is blurry but you can just make out the body writhing around on the ground.
You're hurt and blood seeps out of your wounds. You should be dead. You shouldn't be able to move, but here you are struggling to breathe. The acrid air in your lungs burns. Your vision tinges red. You can't help but watch as the body across the street from you sits up, rotten eyes fixed on your own.
It's jaw unhinges as it lets out an unearthly scream. It's hungry– no not hungry, ravenous– filthy drool dripping down it's chin. In a flash it descends upon you.
Starving.
Yearning for something to eat.
Desperate.
Yearning for food.
Famished.
Yearning to tear your flesh apart.
------------------------------------------------------------------
In your senior year of high school, you remain the sole survivor of a brutal car crash that kills your father. Grief stricken, your mother decides that it's time for a fresh start. You soon find yourself shipped away to the other side of the country in bustling New York City; a completely different world from your previous rural Louisiana town.
A fish out of water, you're content with staying in the comfort of your own bedroom, living out your life in complete solitude. However, fate has other plans and after four years of isolation, you are forced to leave your room and venture into the outside world.
You just had to pick the day when everything goes to shit, didn't you?
The dead have begun to rise, violent and angry and desperately ravenous for human flesh. Finding yourself separated from your mom, you team up with an unlikely group of survivors as you begin your journey across a ruined New York in hopes of safe haven.
Who knows what might happen when the dead wake?
Play as male, female or non binary; you have the chance to set your own pronouns.
Play as straight, gay, lesbian, bi/pansexual, demi/asexual or aromantic.
Customize your MC's personality and appearance.
Choose from five RO's (plus a sixth RO who you'll meet at the end of the game) to romance or befriend. Or betray.
Build up your stats.
Make alliances or enemies with rival gangs.
Steal a cop car.
Adopt some dogs.
Your choices matter. You and other characters from the main cast can die.
Javier Delgado | he/him | 23 | ISTJ-T | Puerto Rican American
Javier has short, dark brown hair that curls just slightly around the edges. His down turned eyes are light brown and speckled with green. His golden tawny skin is lightly smattered with freckles across his cheeks. Javier is 5'10" and he has a thin, lanky build which makes him seem much taller than he really is. A pair of plastic-rimmed, light green glasses sit on his hooked nose. He says that they're just for reading but in truth, his eyesight just really sucks. His thick eyebrows are almost constantly furrowed, causing people to think that he’s always upset. Javier favors more muted, earthy toned colors in what he wears. He's not particularly fashionable however, wearing whatever is clean and comfortable.
Carmen Bautista | she/her | 23 | ESFJ-A | Filipina/Brazilian American
Carmen has long, wavy hair that stops just below her shoulder blades. Her hair is dark brown turning into a blonde ombre the further down it goes. She normally keeps it pulled back into a low bun or a French braid. Her wide eyes are almond shaped and dark brown. Carmen’s olive skin is completely flawless. Her full lips seem to be set in a perpetual smile, showing off the deep set dimples on her cheeks. She is 5'9" and has a plump, hourglass figure. She can normally be found wearing jewelry. However, Carmen doesn't wear rings, saying that she prefers to keep her hands free of any obstructions. She does have her nails painted a bubblegum pink though. Carmen favors pastel colors and soft clothing that she can easily move around in.
Max Friedman | she/they | 22 | ISTP-A | Jewish American
Max has wildly curly, dark copper hair that reaches just below their ears which is choppy since they cut it themself. Their eyes are a pale stormy gray and droopy, giving them a sleepy appearance. However, paired with her thin lips that seem to be constantly set into a scowl, it only highlights Max's less than friendly demeanor. Max has pale skin with warm undertones. She's covered from head to toe in freckles. They have a small cut on the right side of their upper lip. Their nose is slightly crooked, having broken it from a skateboarding accident. She's the shortest out of the group (not including Gwen), standing at 5'2" and she has a lithe build though the baggy clothes she wears make it seem that Max is skinnier than she really is. They carry around a skateboard wherever they go.
Eun-Woo Park | he/him | 20 | ESTP-T | South Korean
Eun-Woo has short, pencil-straight black hair that's been styled into an undercut, his bangs left longer than the rest. Thick eyelashes rim his monolid eyes. The irises are a brown so dark that they're almost black. Eun-Woo's milk white skin is spotted with moles, the most notable being the two that sit underneath his left eye. His hands are covered with old calluses and jagged scars mar his knuckles. Eun-Woo stands at 5'7" and has a sinewy, toned build. His ears are double pierced and he has a helix piercing on his right ear. Eun-Woo's nails are painted black. He likes wearing black clothing however, he always wears a red SSG Landers cap along with a NY Yankees letterman jacket.
Derek Campbell | he/they | 24 | ISFP-A | African American/Caucasian
Derek has dark brown, shoulder length dreads. The ends are dyed a light honey brown though he's constantly changing the color. He normally keeps his dreads tied back in a loose ponytail or bun. Their full lips seem to always be set in a sweet smile. Their dark brown eyes are round and wide set, emphasizing their friendly demeanor. Light stubble softens their sharp jaw. Derek has light brown skin, having two scars on his face: one that runs down the corner of his left eyebrow and the other running across the bridge of his nose. He's the tallest of the whole group, standing at 6'5" and his chubby, thick-set build seems imposing at first. They're really just a big marshmallow though. Derek seems to favor more athletic wear, though they'll wear whatever feels comfortable to them. They like bright colors, especially pink and yellow.
Elijah/Elizabeth Watts | he/him or she/her | 26 | ENTJ-A | African American
Eli has dark umber skin with cool undertones. Jagged, old scars crisscross all over their body. They have a full sleeve tattoo of a snake surrounded by lotus flowers on their left arm. F!Eli has long, tightly coiled black hair which she normally keeps tied back into a low ponytail or a braided bun. M!Eli has short, tightly coiled black hair that's cut into a fade, his coils either left free or tied back into cornrows. Even if they're not upset, Eli's eyes seem to be constantly narrowed, the warm honey brown irises standing out against their dark skin. Their full lips hide a gap-toothed smile. Both M!Eli and F!Eli stand at 6'0". They have a toned, muscular build. They wear no makeup or jewelry, other than the dog tags that they keep hidden underneath their clothes.
Gwen Nguyen | she/her | 10 | Vietnamese American
Gwen has warm toned, honey skin and wide, black eyes. Her chubby cheeks are dusted red, only further highlighting her innocent appearance. However, the sneaky rude gestures and hidden eye rolls show that she's much more cheeky than she looks. Gwen likes to wear anything soft and pastel colored. She always has her favorite pink bear plushie with her. Gwen is also deaf, so she wears a pair of sparkly hearing aids. Other than using sign language, she also communicates with a small whiteboard that she keeps tucked away in a pastel yellow backpack.
Pa and Ma Hazel:
Pa is a 10 year old German shepherd and Ma Hazel is an 11 year old cocker spaniel. Pa is short coated and his fur is a dark sable color with his underside being a honey brown. His muzzle is also lightly streaked through with gray. Ma Hazel is medium coated and her fur is a brown roan. Her muzzle is also slightly graying and her nose is spotted. In lieu of collars, Pa wears a forest green bandana around his neck. Ma Hazel doesn't wear a collar at all.

Who can I play as and Who are the Romantic Options?
You can play as cis, trans, non-binary and genderfluid. Inputting your own pronouns and addresses is also possible.
Having interchangeable pronouns is not possible, though. (Because I don't know how to code that).
There's a growing list of races/ethnicity to pick from, all having an impact on the gameplay, big and small.

Tommy Burke : (mixed (mother black (French-Canadian of French Descent), father white(Irish)), 29, male, Irish-French-Canadian): Arsonist and pragmatical grump. Was about to be hanged, now travels with the MC. Has a relationship with Seán. [Only romancable in a polycule with Seán]

OC: Margaret Sheppard
For IF: @devilscreekballad
Mrs. Niall Sheppard nee Margaret Tarkani, known as Maggie to friends and loved ones.
Backstory: Widowed young when her husband was murdered, Maggie started her life of crime by seeking revenge. She met Charlie after he was recommended to her for his spiritual services in order to contact her deceased husband hoping that he perhaps knew who his killer was so she could avenge his death. However, by the time she was able to track the perpetrator down, he was already dead before she could do the deed herself. (Sorry this isn’t more specific, I’m just indecisive on the details lmao.) Anyway, Charlie went along with her on that endeavour because they got on straight away, and he wanted to be there to prevent her from doing something stupid (also on Niall’s request.) This somehow leads until where they are today and Maggie views Charlie as an older brother, and the only family she’s got left. (She’s also grown a soft spot for Finley in the short time she’s known him. But that’s a different topic altogether though.)
To backtrack a little though, her father once worked as a stablehand/groom for a minor nobleman in England, which is how he met her mother, as she was that nobleman’s daughter and they ran away to the US to get married since her family disapproved. Once he got hired to a wealthy man’s stable again he worked his way up to head groom and that’s how Maggie has her outrider background, since she learned everything she knows about riding and horses from her dad.
Also, she named her horse Ciarán since that’s what she and Niall were going to name their son if they had one, but since they didn’t get the chance to have any kids her horse gets the name. (How she got such a rare horse colour though I have NO IDEA lmao.)
Ethnicity: Half Caucasian (English) Half Indian (Actual India, the part that will eventually become Pakistan though.)
LI(s): The Man in Black Preacher, Isaac Delgado? (Maybe)
(Stats as of the end of the public demo.)
A similar example of an outfit Maggie might wear when she is trying to look like A Respectable American Citizen TM.

Debut Album of The Strokes' Is This It and Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights.
TURN ON THE BRIGHT LIGHTS
New York City was in transition in 2002, the devastation of 9/11 still lingered but a new sense of goodwill and compassion flowed through the city with dozens of bands reanimating a faded glory that had come to define the Giuliani era. Arriving after several well-regarded EPS that honed Interpol's Sonic and sartorial sense, it's possible no album captured this moment as vividly as their debut turn on the bright lights. Interpol took shape at NYU in the late 1990s where the band formed partially as a result of mutual fashion appreciation. Frontman Paul banks had come across bassist Carlos dangler in their dorm wearing skin tight black clothing and a giant crucifix. Meanwhile guitarist daniel kessler had already gotten to know Dengler in a world war 1 class after approaching him with a compliment about his shoes, and the trio eventually found replacement drummer Sam Fogerino while he was working in a used clothing store. Soon after coming together, the group started to jam at Funkadelic studios, PDA was already in embryonic form by then. After hustling in the NYC circuit and recording here and there, a chance meeting with Emma Pollock of the Delgado's led to the release of an Interpol EP in 2000 on the esteemed chemical underground label. On the heels of the EP success and in the midst of the post strokes gold rush in New York City, Interpol scored a deal with Matador Records then home to bands like Belen Sebastian, yo a tango, and pavement. Chris Lombardi of Matador claimed that he was most impressed by the business-like manner with which the band conducted themselves the suits first and foremost. Interpol decided to record turn on the bright lights at producer Peter Quedas's home studio in Bridgeport Connecticut to avoid all of the temptations New York City had to offer a hot young band while Cadis has gone on to produce the national, Frightened Rabbit, and Yan C, his most recent credit prior to turn on the bright lights was engineering the get up kids on a wire. Sessions were contentious Carlos D had wanted more keyboards, more nights on the town, and the title of the record to be celebrated baselines of the future. If banks had his way, PDA wouldn't have even made the record. However Quedas protested and told him that's their hit single, which it was. Quedas was not enthused with the new, until the final mix which had him in tears. But for all the seriousness and grandeur of turn on the bright lights moments of humor abounded. The spoken intro of Stella was a diver and she was always down; was recorded while banks was ad-libbing with ice in his mouth “this one called Stella was a diver she's always down”. Anchored by Carlos D and Fogerino’s hulking rhythm section, Banks created it in New York City recognizable to its citizens but in cryptic indelible lyrics. “The subway was a porno”, “relationships were a bracelet” and “they had 200 couches for you to sleep” when it all felt like too much. Beginning with a crowd stoking instrumental that would foreshadow runs opening for U2 and the Cure, turn on the bright lights resulted in music of unusually sweeping and grandiose gestures that felt foreign to rock music in general at the time but especially to indie rock. It's hard to imagine the transition towards the post-punk bombast of Arcade Fire, The Killers, and the National without Interpol opening the lane first. While local papers would occasionally snark at them as fashion victims and post-punk dilettante, critical acclaim for turn on the bright lights was overwhelmingly positive. The brilliance of turn on the bright lights is all the more apparent 19 years later a beacon that continues to shine radiantly during its city's darkest moments. IS THIS IT
Fueled by hype that was extraordinary even by the standards of the British press, The Strokes became instant superstars in the UK long before their fellow Americans heard “is this it” thirty-six stylish lo-Fi down-and-dirty minutes of unwholesome Downton Blues that evoke The Velvet Underground, The Ramones, television, and countless others who will firm New York City as the epicenter of punk rock cool, the strokes debut was already in stores in the UK for months before its eventual American release mere weeks after the September 11th attacks. Is this it subsequently took on an unintended resonance and became a sentimental document of a New York City that would no longer exist after Rudolph Giuliani, gentrification, and the war on terror. The Strokes may not have saved rock and roll themselves but The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, the killers, and the Arctic Monkeys likely wouldn't exist without “is this it”. while several members of The Strokes have been playing together since high school in a project called “just pipe” the band truly took shape after guitarist Albert Hammond jr. joined the group he and singer Julian Casablancas attended the same Swiss boarding school and reconnected after Hammond returned to New York City and serendipitously moved across the street from Elite Model Management which just so happened to be owned by Casablancas’ father. Contrary to the stereotype of The Strokes as a prefab overnight success, the group struggled throughout the late 90s playing to empty rooms before their demo got the attention of Rough Trade ANR man Jeff Travis, nor were they predator naturally cool from the start. before The Strokes first gig Hammond claims the band was so nervous they watched the Eddie Murphy movie Bowfinger to calm themselves. Preliminary sessions for is this it were recorded with Gil Norton best known for his work with the Pixies but also Foo Fighters “ultra slick the color in the shape” for the album itself The Strokes would reunite with Gordon Raphael who previously produced the modern age EP. The unorthodox production of “is this it” was the result of Raphael using a minimal number of microphones and following Casablancas says requests to have it sound like your favorite blue jeans not totally destroyed but worn in comfortable. According to Raphael an A&R guy named Steve obelisk II held is this it most unprofessional sounding music that he has never heard. The strokes declined the invitation from MTV to play alongside the vines in the hives at the 2002 Video Music Awards. The band didn't want to be lumped in to quote the new rock revolution it consisted of mostly bands with the word the and a plural noun in their names. Casablancas told MTV I'm not going to do a band off with them and strokes manager Ryan gentle said “that was pretty much the last time we were played on MTV”. The infamous bare-bottom on the international release of is this it is that of photographer Colin lanes girlfriend, however concerns about whether conservative chain stores like Target and Walmart would carry the record but The Strokes to switch to the American cover shot of a subatomic particle in a bubble chamber Casablancas is rumored to have liked it even more than the original. A more crucial alteration from the international version involves the removal of its own, New York City cops all involved agreed that a chorus of New York City cops they ain't that smart would be considered in poor taste after 9/11 even if the song was written years previous by removing the song from the US release of is this it there's not a single song in a Strokes album that has mentioned New York City by name. Well The Strokes achieved a level of popularity rivaled by few American bands in the 21st century is this it was considered a commercial disappointment in its time it peaked only at number 33 on Billboard while lead single last night topped out at number five of the modern rock chart with some day stalling at Number 17. Long story short, these two albums (and arguably two of the best rock albums of all time) had left a dent in my
life for it defined my teenage years when I had nothing, lost, and frustrated with my life. It reminded me the melancholic time that I had in the past. So I'll leave you guys with a lyrics from each album and try to find the song that corresponds to it :). "I have 7 faces, and I know which one to wear" "Soma is what they would take when hard times opened their eyes and saw pain in a new way"

Black Wolves Saga Last Hope Memory 40: Los caballeros ratón [Historia General 1]
Fiona: (Si no descansamos... ¿no terminará colapsando)
Rath: No tenemos tiempo... Si no escapamos seremos asesinados.
Fiona: ...
Fiona: (...Ser asesinado.)
Fiona: ¿Rath...?
Rath iba a decir algo.
Pero los arbustos se mecieron interrumpiendo aquello.
Rath: ¡¿...?!
Fiona: ¡...!
Rath: ...Estamos rodeados.
Fiona: (¿Son caballeros ratones...?)
Caballero ratón 1: ...Fiona-sama, dese prisa y venga hacia acá.
Fiona: ¡¡...!!
Fiona: (Estos ratones...
Fiona: Esto... ustedes vinieron a rescatarme, ¿no?
Rath: ...
Caballero ratón 1: ...
Podía escuchar como Rath respiraba a mi lado.
Y el caballero ratón observaba a Rath.
Caballero ratón 1: ...Fiona-sama parece encontrarse cansada. Chicos.
Fiona: ¡¡Detente...!! ¡¡Que te detengas...!!
Caballero ratón 2: Kgh... ¡¿Fiona-sama...?!
No podía seguir viendo.
Fiona: (No pienso aceptarlo.
Caballero ratón 1: ...No tenemos opción.
Planea acercárseme y matar a Rath.
Fiona: ¡¡...!!
Rath: Tonta...
Rath: ¡...Kgh!
Caballero ratón: ...Voy en serio, Fiona-sama. Si no quiere experimentar dolor, entonces dese prisa y quítese por favor.
Fiona: No... no quiero...
Mi voz tiembla patéticamente y mis dientes chirrean.
Tengo miedo.

For the hyperfixation ask thing: ALL OF THEM. Feel free to answer whatever ones you want to answer. It can be all of them! You're legally obligated to infodump about your passions now!
IOGRNIGOERNIOGNERO ISA I LOVE AND STAN YOU
📃 what is the plot of your hyperfixation? and is it a movie, game, show, etc?
my current hyperfixations are Minecraft, Lucifer, and Doctor Who so. the plot of lucifer is basically “the devil comes from hell to #live it up on earth and falls in love with a human and becomes a civilian consultant” and it’s so stupid but i love it.
📌 how did you find your hyperfixation?
I don’t really remember for a lot of stuff, but I know I found Minecraft when my brothers and I downloaded the demo of Minecraft on our XBox 360 in like... 2011?
Doctor Who I think my older brother and his girlfriend (now his wife) got me into it? I don’t really remember tho.
And I don’t remember for Lucifer!
✨ what draws you towards your hyperfixation? what is interesting about it?
I like Doctor Who bc i love sci fi and i’m a dumb nerd and also a doctor synpath lol. i like lucifer bc it’s so silly and lucifer and chloe are adorable and also. lucifer hot. and i like minecraft bc it’s low key and there’s a lot i can do with it!!
🎥 do you have any favorite scenes from your hyperfixation?
OH GOD. um. in doctor who one of my favorite scenes is the last five minutes of the episode “Eaters of Light” (s10e10) bc it’s ,.,..,. Such a good moment between the doctor and missy. I also like Missy’s whole speach in “Death in Heaven” (”i want you to know we’re not so different!!”). i also love the scene where the doctor and donna talk through windows at each other in “Partners in Crime”. and just. there’s a lot. in classic who my fav scene is when three and delgado!master literally have a sword fight.
idk if i have any favorite scenes from lucifer, probably any one where lucifer is just really Fond.
🎶 if your hyperfixation has songs/an ost, what is your favorite song from it?
hmmm in Minecraft I really like Dry Hands
💕 tell us about one of your favorite characters and why you like them!
well the doctor is an obvious choice so instead i’ll go with. donna!! I love she! i love how she’s so sassy and she’s not afraid to put the doctor back in their place but also. she loves them so much. they’re literally best friends and it makes me fuckin weep. she’s so strong and loud and i love her and she deserves the universe.
💔 tell us about one of your LEAST favorite characters and why you dislike them.
hmm i think my least favorite lucifer character right now is lucifer and amenadiel’s mom? nothing against her really i just think it’s Odd how they have God’s Wife. Idk it kind of makes sense as far as the show’s aesthetic goes but i’m still :/ about it.
🏳🌈 do you have any headcanons (lgbt, race, neuro, etc) that are important to you?
-aroace nonbinary autistic adhd doctor!

💎 are there any fun facts or trivia that you would like to share?
hm. fun fact about doctor who, the first doctor tried to brain a caveman with a rock in the first or second arc. also, susan (the doctor’s granddaughter) is the one who came up with the TARDIS acronym
💢 what do you NOT like about your hyperfixation? is there something you would want to change about it?
the racism and queermisia in both lucifer and doctor who, the ableism in lucifer, the lack of representation in both. i wish there were more crops in minecraft lol.
