#deluxe collector’s edition

It has taken me years to track down the 1st edition ‘Xena: Warrior Princess’ Anchor Bay DVD Deluxe Collector’s Edition full box set because I wasn’t going to purchase anything that wasn’t in New condition.

As in - unwrapped and unused.

TA DAAA! I finally have the 1st ever release DVDs of my most favourite TV show in the whole wide world.

Will I open them you ask?

They’re a collector’s item for a reason. They’ve been out of print since 2005. It’s extremely difficult to get them for a halfway decent price in New condition.

So no. I will never open them. But they will proudly sit in my bedroom where they can be admired by me.

But how do I know they work if I don’t open them?

I don’t. That’s true. But that doesn’t matter to me. If I want to watch the show, I can watch it from any of my other Xena box sets that are already ripped and synched to my Mac laptop, iPhone and Samsung TV. The whole point to getting this full box set is literally for the box sets. It wouldn’t make a difference to me if there was even anything inside them. I won’t need the actual DVDs. They’re just there to be a reminder of my love for Xena and the accomplishment of finally tracking down the 1st ever DVDs made of the show. All the bonus content from them I already have from my Madman/Viavision DVD box set that just copied everything from the Anchor Bay DVDs and called it something else under their own company instead.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the closest I’ll come to breaking my “will not pay $70 for the standard edition of a game” rule. I didn’t even break a sweat clicking out of the FF7Rebirth pre-order page when I saw it, but DD2 is a real test.

Got this one today, directly from Japan. It's the Japanese deluxe edition of Speak Now (Taylor's Version). It is a CD version that comes in a 7" cardboard slipcase. It includes an also 7" booklet, a neutral white booklet with japanese lyrics, the two cd's on a cardboard circle that looks a bit like a 7" single vinyl, and with a guitar pick. Mine also came with a mini sticker that's exclusively to the first few hundreds or thousands of orders.

No shade towards the Scandinavian boxart they used for the LR release, I just have a huge soft spot for the Japanese art. It's so charming and iconic to me personally.

At the end of the day its just a box and the contents seem to be almost the same as the international release ... I'm just a simp for this game and I had to frantically scream about it 💚

I recently added a piece of prehistory to my collection with this gorgeous 1:11±1 scale replica of Aenocyon dirus from Rebor! Nicknamed “Havallagata,” this Dire Wolf measures just over 7 inches and comes complete with 3 interchangeable heads, allowing the creature to be displayed with its mouth closed, growling with teeth bared, or with an open jaw exposing its razor sharp teeth.

The dire wolf lived in the Americas during the Late Pleistocene epoch (125,000–9,500 years ago) and was about the same size as the largest modern gray wolves. While its skull and dentition do match those of C. lupus, its teeth were larger with greater shearing ability and its bite force was stronger than any known Canis species. While these characteristics allowed them to prey on megaherbivores such as mastodons, bison and camels, its reliance on large animals likely led to its extinction, along with climate change and competition with other species. To date, the hundreds of individuals obtained from the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles constitute the largest collection of dire wolf fossils. 🐺

i lied again i have One more thing to say which is that technically there was a cheaper edition of dune at the store but it had the movie poster cover and also it was like a solid four inches thick bc theyd printed it on really narrow and short paper for some fucking reason and the type was TINY. and the only other edition they had besides that was a hardcover that they were selling for. fifty us dollars.

Somebody at Best Buy I guess did not understand how deluxe sets work or something, saw all their customers ordering the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth deluxe sets but lacked the steel book it came with as a separate item, and added the steel book item to people's orders to "complete" it.

And Fucking Best Buy saw that and said, "Hey, this seems like duplicated orders, better just cancel everything without looking into it!" and then DID. And THEN, on top of that, when the flood of people calling freaking out about their canceled orders, they realized what they'd done, they didn't do the smart option of earmarking copies for those affected customers. They just sent an email saying, "Oh hey, our bad, place a new order! :D" Never mind how anticipated this game is. As long as Best Buy got their money, they don't give a crap who buys the newly-freed up stock. It's "coming soon" on Best Buy's website, so even if I did give in and make an online account for BB, I STILL couldn't replace my order.

Fuck it. For the 3rd game, whenever that happens, whatever the ridiculously-sized statuette is, I'm buying the collector's edition from Square. This is BS.
