Introducing Deltaring, a Deltarune-themed Webring!

I am super nervous to post this HI!!

I've been ruminating on this idea of the "Deltarune Webring" for WAY too long and I finally finished setting one up!

"The Deltaring is a webring featuring websites made by fans of the Deltarune series created by Toby Fox! Whether it be Fanpages, Shrines, Webcomics, Fangames, AUs, OCs, or anything themed around the series, they're all welcome here!"

I've been absolutely enamoured with the fansite scene of this community, but I was surprised to see that there weren't any UT/DR-themed webrings anywhere! (The reason likely being that Webrings are a bit old-fashioned, bUT THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT! There's not even an Undertale one??)

Anyways, I'm officially launching the ring, there's only one person in it right now (Me!) but I'm hoping to be able to have the wonderfully creative people of this community joining in and share all the love we have for this game!

Let me know if there are any issues with it! This is my first Webring so I might have missed a thing or two!

Fancy a Georgian Deep Red?

The DOORS Steering Committee took place in Stirling in January 2024 and the Scottish Highlands were treated to a unique taste of the Black Sea via our man in Georgia, Mamuka Gvilava (Geographic) who brought with him a very unusual bottle of wine…

At evening dinner, He pulled out what appeared to be a very old worn bottle, covered in hardened sediment and debris; it looked like something one would have pillaged from an ancient shipwreck of long ago. But it wasn’t. This is the ‘new’ product of Georgian entrepreneur, Ecologist and Diver, David Nikoleishvili who, with the support of Khareba Winery, began creating the first underwater wine cellar and museum on the Black Sea coast at Kvariati near Batumi.

But this is not just a marketing gimmick. The logic is the underwater conditions mimic the crucial ageing factors that are thought to contribute to the flavour of wine, such as constant temperature and the absence of light. David’s Khareba bottles are, for a period of 4 months, plunged to depths of 15, 20  and 27m and left to the whims of the tides, interacting with sediment from the Chorokhi river. This approach is especially relevant as we search for new ways to save energy in the fight against climate change. In fact, it could almost be considered a ‘nature-based solution’ to wine maturation since traditional approaches require a lot of engineering and power to recreate the correct environment.

“Underwater wine ages 3 times faster than those in a regular cellar”, David says, “ …and although I’m not an expert myself,  other foreign sommeliers have told me the wine stored in the sea is softer to drink, and the bouquet is more well expressed.”

It certainly proved a hit at our Steering Committee dinner with Jos Brils of Deltares, our resident DOORS expert in all things sediment (and fine wine), who could not stop raving about it.

But David also sees this as unique way to arouse interest in Black Sea underwater heritage as well as representing an excellent example of a ‘Blue Economy’ innovation: “This initiative, initiated this year, stands as a novel approach to marine ecology, science, and underwater economic activity. Importantly, these projects align with the environmental protection and sustainable development policies of the European Union, as well as various global and regional financial institutions and environmental funds.”

Across the Black Sea there is a feeling the underwater heritage of the region could be celebrated more and has untapped potential for tourism and local economies. Our third and final DOORS cruise is about to set sail later this year and is tasked with exploring ancient shipwreck sites very close to Kvariati in Georgia. David will be joining us as part of the dive team for the Georgian leg of the journey. And although he is the only one who knows the exact co-ordinates of where the wine is buried, we’d be lying if we said we had not considered potential alternative applications for the scanning equipment on board the Mare Nigrum! 😀

• Lilist’s costume is just a straight up jack o'lantern, and she wears it on her head the entire day. She also convinces Hadaly to go as Godzilla for some godawful reason. • Somehow she convinces both her cousins to wear sexy costumes?? Gyxfyn is dressed as a witch and Ryukia as a dragon. • Roseli has way too much sugar and passes out on Uranie dressed as a pink princess bc holy fuck if shes not going to take advantage of her matesprit’s weakness. • Anders goes all out and dresses up in a spyro onesie and hooks up the manor with decorations and even a few glow in the dark ghost decorations. • Violet dresses as a vampire to show off her pale complexion and Qetesh probably dies from flusteredness when Vi leans down to kiss her neck asdfdgfhd • Roseli dresses Uranie up as a purple ninja and Lili nearly dies laughing. Violet dresses Qetesh as a fairy and everyone thinks she’s adorable. • Aviana and Sudleo and their kids are invited to a Halloween party and they bring Malsef probably • Xiriti and Lilist take a hundred selfies together bc Xiriti is dressed as a cute witch • Calore is dressed up as a prince while Zerati wanted to pretend to be a subjug. They scare the absolute hell out of everyone. • Uranie wins at apple bobbing but Roseli jumpscares her and Uranie nearly falls into the tub of water • Aviana dresses as a cat and she convinces Sudleo to be a demon. • Lilist wins the prize competition • Halloween is their favourite holiday after 12th Perigee’s.

Decided to post relatively old doodles before they became COMPLETELY outdated. From winter to late spring.

Here we have an early Noelle’s DW design, but now I think she will actually have a Deltar Rune, it’s more expected and more elegant.

Life is wonderful au (ancient story)

Scott Summers is the first to say that good allies are hard to find, and without falter, the X-men need any allies they can get, but, is this the correct mindset, hence, the dilemma the leader of the X-men is facing at moment. Not even Storm or Beast managed to give a solid answer, and, in times of need is important to make sacrifices.

Clearing his throat. Two times now. Scott speaks with all the bravado one can. "Kitty, what do you think?" his tone is cautious as the others look at Kitty pretending, the best of their abilities allows, not being frightened of her answer.

Kitty´s  right fist is holding her face for a moment as she´s pondering the situation (or not, no one can understand what she´s thinking and Psylocke is not dumb enough to try) and smiles in her mysterious way(is she mocking them? is she amused?)

"I see. Is not every day that an intergalactic race makes contact with you, Scott Summers"  Kitty states amused too amused as she now gives that cat-like a smile, but, she´s not over. "And I can see the plight you´re now, Scott, the Shiar people are a group of formidable warriors, but, the Deltars are even fiercer than them and they don´t take kindly any rejection"Kitty concludes in a serene tone.

The others side-eyed each other for a moment, Ororo nods to Scott as he´s silent asking permission or reassurance to do his next bold move. And, once Storm gave a confidence vote, Scott Summers continues. "So, you think we should accept their offer?"

Kitty scratches her chin now. "Well, I can say the only good thing they´re good fighters, but, only that...the Deltars aren´t provide of common sense...in fact, sit...I want to tell a story"

And no one dares to oppose to that, after all, whatever Kitty is, no one can deny one thing. She has stories to tell. ___________________________________________________________________________-

The planet of Daltars have a name, of course, but, once pledge their loyalty to Chaos itself the name lost all meaning, however, one thing that still makes Daltars a name to be spoken to everyone, even among the Shiars, is the fierce strength they demonstrate in any fight.

That and their devotion to Chaos, in fact, their devotion is completely blind that no mask of Chaos would ever be questioned. After all, why bother? Chaos is versatile.

Tonight, the temple of Doom, horned for IT´s presence has the light and full of followers as for the first time. "Chaos is here. Chaos is here!" as the leader of the group guides them to the entrance to admire the chaos itself.

A beautiful woman who resembles humanoid enough, but, her uncanny eyes and her dark ebony skin, her unmoving lips, her bikini and the open skirt does give away what the woman truly is.

"...Here?" the deity respond mentally with a soft chuckle that rings in everyone present. "How can you say I´m really here?"

The deity can´t speak as her mouth seems sewed. Delicately tailored to remain a perfect line in her uncanny and beautiful face. However, the followers are overjoyed and frighten to see their God.

Days passed down as tension is higher as the deity is walking among the city making questions about...itself with its dogs. Someone, in a hushed tone, asked if the deity shouldn´t be around cats, which is answered quickly by saying that the cats are under disguise.

The leader of the group summons the courage to ask a question to Chaos itself. "Chaos, we´re wondering if you could lend us more power to face the war?"

The deity blinks and pets her dogs. "Still on the chaos thing, huh? Sure, but in order to get more power you must all do something for me" and the man clearly agrees. "I want you to save all the victims of the said war, take them to a safer place and take care of them, if I like the work I may lend more power" and the deity is now playing ball with the dogs.

The shiars are confused as to why the Daltars are helping victims of a previous war that they caused. Their only reply? Chaos orders us.

A few time later, someone approaches the deity who is a garden (a new thing the deity crafted for herself) and asked an audience with Chaos itself. "Oh boy, this will be good," the deity said as she let her right fist support her face.

The someone reveals to be a woman and she´s on a tangent as to how she had visions about this moment(the deity is not really paying attention, but, let the woman continues to speak) and after some much-elaborated thoughts the woman said "I´m ready to sire you a son"

"...Pass?" the deity said as the woman grovel on the floor, but, she thinks again and speaks, again, mentally. "It seems you know what a lot about my tales, why you don't share with me, all I did in the past...amuses me and I may amuse you"

And the woman left the temple with the satisfaction of soon enough she´ll carry the Chaos´ son.

And finally, a group asked for knowledge of the universe and if is possible to be a god. "You guys? Nope. Besides, how can you want to be a lesser god if you can´t even answer a simple question? Are you real?"

Finally, the deity leaves the Deltars and the dogs follow suit, however, the cats return and aren´t happy about the situation that only they have the mind to notice.

"So...they never noticed they were worshipping the wrong God?" Scott asked dubiously at this information/story. Kitty is smiling cheerily. "You...were that God?"

"Oh Scott, I have to give a big clue like that to you to notice?" Kitty shakes her head. "Let me tell you something, the Deltars won´t have a long lifetime, so, if you accept their deal...rest assured they won´t be here for long" and she leaves as Wanda arrives with shopping  and a grumpy Pietro (who has a new haircut)

Scott does the only sensible thing here. "All favours to say no to this deal?" everyone agrees and the X-men know they have an ally in Kitty, a really scary one that they don´t need to make too many questions.

Vi is a jackal shadowdropper, infected by her wife after a random attack on the manor

Kierla is a wolf shadowdropper, she’s the alpha of the pack and watches over the youngest to ensure they don’t shift randomly and hurt someone by accident

Hadaly’s also a wolf shadowdropper, will fetch tennis balls if you throw one in her vicinity

Asteri is a leopard shadowdropper and tends to be more conscious of her emotions so she shifts the least.

Tivari is a lion shadowdropper, the guardian lions in the northern forests love him

Kaspar is a panther shadowdropper like Violet’s ancestor, they’re silver tho

Freesia is a black panther shadowdropper and is Violet’s ancestor, she’s the one Vi got the dormant genes from

(Oslo, 1. juni) Turister fra hele Europa drømmer om å besøke Norge og Norden med fjord og fjell, midnattssol og nordlys, hval og elg, nordisk design og nordisk musikk. De drømmer om mye, og Scandic ønsker å gi dem det – på 48 timer.

I kampanjen #Nordics48h har Scandic invitert to reisebloggere fra Storbritannia og Tyskland for å oppleve Norden på kun 48 timer. Dette gjøres for å vise frem flere sider av Norden og de muligheter som finnes i Norden, og hvordan man kan kombinere hotellopphold med de aktiviteter som tilbys ved destinasjonene.

– Vi ser en større interesse for å reise i Norden i form av økt besøk og bookinger på våre nettsider fra utenlandske gjester. De vil komme hit, og det synes vi er topp! Derfor vil vi inspirere og vise spennende aktiviteter man kan gjøre. Vi vil vise hele bredden. Ripples from MarBlue 2022

“It is now a time to reconnect and there are huge opportunities for the Black Sea in this moment” said DOORS coordinator, Prof Adrian Stanica as he opened the MarBlue Conference in Constanta.

And this idea of working together was clear by the way GeoEcoMar, NIMRD, and Ovidius University of Constanta all resisted the temptation to hold smaller separate events, choosing instead, to offer one of the most comprehensive programmes on Blue Growth ever seen in the Black Sea.

What is Blue Growth?

Essentially, when we talk about ‘Blue Growth’ or the ‘Blue Economy’ we are referring to economic activities that are marine related. This can include traditional, new and emerging sectors such as fisheries, renewable energy, maritime transport, waste management, blue technologies and tourism. However, the key thing to remember is the entire concept is bound by sustainable protection of the marine environment. Economic activity has to weigh ecosystem impacts against human and societal benefit; it’s a balancing act.

The programme

The MarBlue programme offered us a range of perspectives covering the oceanography and marine geology of the Black Sea combined with various conservation approaches used to protect these ecosystems. Leading academic scientists had the opportunity to share their experiences and latest research findings on marine biodiversity, observation capacities, new technologies, coastal management and how we can move forward sustainably using marine resources we have. We learned that while the Black Sea basin is rich in biodiversity, heritage and natural resources, it is increasingly under pressure from human-induced factors, such as eutrophication and hypoxia, overfishing, and introduction of alien species, in addition to the effects of climate change.

Highlights for DOORS

From a DOORS perspective, Aditi Natarjaran from Deltares provided an excellent introduction and assessment of the potential of Black Sea ecosystem services – an area which has seen little academic mapping work globally but is essential to identifying marine areas ripe for ecosystem service exploitation. On the geophysics side, it was exciting to hear from Dr. Atanas Vasilev from IO-BAS whose research explores the link between gas hydrates and heat flow. His results are very encouraging and potentially mitigate the effect of 3 modern global threats - climate change, clean air, and the cost of energy; something particularly relevant given the current geo-political situation in the Black Sea.

Relatedly, Livio Ruffine of Ifremer presented their fieldwork campaign to measure methane emissions in two locations, on lake Varna and Zelenka on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. This is critical ‘climate change’ work in determining potential local acidification and carbon emissions and represents the first systematic analysis of its kind implemented on the Black Sea. And the role of monitoring was further emphasised by Prof. Andrew Tyler from University of Stirling, who presented how European projects including CERTO, DANUBIUS-RI, ForthEra and now DOORS are using Earth Observation (EO) technologies to monitor and improve water quality which are, in turn, attracting government and private sector investment. And these were just a few of the examples over the conference that helped us connect the science with the potential for real-world economic and societal benefits in the Black Sea.

A focus on Research Infrastructures

Central to the DOORS contribution to the conference was the organising of the special final session on European Marine Research Infrastructures (MRI) which play a key role in delivering oceanographic services and information to answer societal and policy questions. Providing various types of technologies, sensors, and automation capabilities, Europe’s MRIs jointly contribute to a system of ocean observations, with a potential to feed data into European and global marine data services (EMODnet, Copernicus Marine Service, SeaDataNet, OceanOPS, etc). Dina Eparkhina, of European Global Ocean Observing System (EuroGOOS) presented how DOORS brings together all the marine ERICs to share practice and expand their capabilities. One recent example of this is our observational mapping tool which delivers a state of play visualisation of the MRI and data capabilities for the Black Sea.

The need for a holistic approach

But the science cannot operate in isolation, and one of the most holistic keynote talks at the conference came from Angel Borja of AZTI who argued that even the best science needs meaningful citizen engagement to really deliver successful ecosystem services and a blue economy opportunities. A healthy sea will deliver more goods and benefits for humans than a degraded one, and everyone has to be part of that journey – that includes citizens, policymakers and local authorities. Those synergies are not fully there yet but there are positive signs the tides are changing.

Ultimately, MarBlue has shown us that while water may be the root of our problems in the region, it can also be the solution. If we can harness the new science, technology, expertise and tools we now have at our disposal, we can monitor the impacts and benefits of our interventions and gradually improve water quality. If we can do that, a host of Blue Growth opportunities will rapidly follow, benefitting all of us.

Deltar-Legacy history.

The Chimaera was the oldest; Uranie and Deimos's ancestor who gained knowledge alongside the Deltar Trio ancestors. They eventually went their separate ways due to conflict of interest but kept in touch to compare notes. The Chimaera used to lure lowbloods to her lab on the promise of research assistant positions, then trapped them and experimented on them. She also used the research on herself and modified herself until she was a monstrosity; eventually she was barricaded into her lab and left to die. The Initiate, who was Hadaly & Qetesh's ancestor, was a jadeblood who worked in the caverns, exposing the Mother Grub cults for their abuse. She worked alongside the Nurturer, Cheski's ancestor, a yellowblooded trans woman who was called to serve by the Mother Grub. The Nurturer raised the Ribboness, the Selfless and Tauntress until they were five sweeps then passed them on to Animar's ancestor, who raised them to be scientists. The Nuturer and the Initiate became cavern contacts for the original Deltar Trio, rescuing cullbait grubs and handing them along to the Ribboness and her adoptive siblings. The grubs were then relocated with specially bred lusii, creating many mutants for the gene pool. The Deltar ancestors then created their own offspring, inbreeding the Deltar gene - a gene of their own creation that would give trolls extraordinary abilities, into the DNA of their spawn and passing the mix to the Nurturer, who added that to the drone buckets before they were taken to the Mother Grub. Later in the timeline, the Ribboness would save all of the lives of the descendants of these trolls. The Deltars were figureheads in the rebellion and the Ribboness was set to take the throne when the old Empress was culled, but never got the chance. She and her siblings were mutants, and when the rebellion died over managed to hide by retreating to a heavily wooded forest, where they built a laboratory and a vault for their research to pass down to their descendants. When the Initiate passed away, along with the Chimaera, the Nurturer and two of the Deltar siblings, the Ribboness was left alone. Because she couldn't save them from their deaths, she vowed to protect and love their descendants: she protected the Chimaera's daughter as well. When Uranie, Deimos and the twins were born, the Ribboness created lusii for them, and protected them. When Qetesh escaped the caverns, the Ribboness culled the few jades who knew about her escape and guided her to safety, making sure she had what she needed to survive and gain her doctorate. She also helped Uranie gain her degrees and culled those who threatened her survival, including two of her supervisors. When both of them were put in severe danger, however, she created the Legacy mission to the one planet she knew would keep them safe; that part of the galaxy was known for being quiet, with fewer and fewer ships passing through every perigee. The Ribboness created the Legacy colonization mission to protect her 'children' as she called them; she was also constantly rewiring the system and their coordinates to protect them. She also put some of the research she had done with her siblings into the system so Qetesh and Hadaly could figure out their genetic link, since they were twins. She left research that she had retrieved from the Chimaera's now empty and abandoned laboratory in the system for Uranie to adjust her respiratory system so she wouldn't get hurt experimenting. She brought Cheski to the same place where the Deltar Vault was built, along with the laboratory that Roseli would open one day with her assistance. He built his hive there and raised the Deltars till he died in the military. The Ribboness took over as carer, not making her presence known but leaving them food and money and instructions to open the Vault and the laboratory when they were old enough. She also befriended and convinced Animar to raise the children and help them gain their doctorates. She also convinced her to pair up Roseli with Uranie when Roseli was twelve sweeps, leading the Legacy crew to a new family and freedom. When Roseli was five sweeps, she met her ancestor, who taught her to use her ability and open the Deltar Vault, revealing their past to them, but the Deltars did not go through it properly aside from the research part and the Deltar weaponry until the Ribboness was on her deathbed and sent the Deltar-Legacy family an extremely long letter, filled with information on who all of their ancestors were and where to find the Chimaera's lab. It's revealed that Deimos and Roseli both knew her, Deimos because of when he was in the helm and Roseli because of their interactions. All of them found out about their personal ancestors and their histories. The information in the Chimaera's laboratory records was brought back and added to the Deltar vault, as well as the records of the Initiate and the Nurturer, and according to the Ribboness's records, the Legacy crew members were made full Deltar family members, giving them access to the family secrets. @chainbreak-trolls

What’s your OTP for your Muse?: Overall, I gotta say it’s ocean fireflies (Uranie and @phoenix-trolls‘ Roseli Deltar). Those two are just amazing together, they’ve helped each other so much. Speaking from Uranie’s perspective, Roseli’s helped her let go of the mentality she was taught as a highblood and helped her cope with her violent thoughts. But seer and the rogue is a close second.

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?: Everything within reason, and some completely unreasonable stuff. I have a whole timeline where Uranie trains Hadaly as a slave (and later Celant too) and gives her to Mirrir as a gift. The whole thing’s like this messed up parody of a relationship and tbh it’s one of my favorite timelines because I’m a sucker for angst.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?: I follow the rule of if they’re both adults it doesn’t matter. There could be a several century age gap for all I care.

Are you selective when shipping?: No

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?: I tag for nsfw at the point of like suggestive comments bc i get paranoid, but normally I fade to black basically once it’s clear that sex is going to happen, even if the foreplay would be relatively tame.

Who are other Muses you ship your Muse with?: So many

Does one have to ask to ship with you?: I mean I’d definitely prefer to plan such a thing in advance, I think that makes things easier for both of us.

How often do you like to ship?: I love shipping tbh, I’m only limited by my own shyness when it comes to approaching people.

Are you multiship?: I only create separate timelines to account for major events (Aziell getting beamed into another universe, Uranie going back to the Empire, Team Chainbreak not getting involved in SGRUB, etc.) so technically no. In practice, all my characters except Taalya are polyamorous so sort of.

Are you ship obsessed or ship more-or-less?: Yes

What is your favorite ship in your current fandom?: In terms of fantrolls? Probably @blacklightcatalyst‘s Cahina x happiness.
