Random reminder that Black Butler is a psychological thriller/horror story with themes of trauma (all kinds of), SA and sexual imagery (in a possesive way) and supernatural elements set in old england. Also following a bunch of weird supernatural crime cases, which are individually used to explore all of the characters, their different dynamics and the different kinds of traumas everyone has. And on top there's some funny moments in moments where the comedy fits in.

(PS. This rant came to life cause I read "Why are you watching Black Butler if you don't actually ship them" TO MANY TIMES on TikTok. The point is psychological horror/thriller that I just happen to like when done well enough.)

personally I think school spirits is one of the few shows recently that perfectly encapsulates amazing character dynamics. like, everyone seems so real and every interaction carries weight behind it, even if it's meant to be comedic. like everything just feels genuine and the characters themselves, ironically enough, feel very alive. every one has their own complicated thing going on and the way those complicated things interact with each other feels so perfect.

Can I say how much I love the Oscar/Charles developing friendship we’ve had this season? They went from minimal interactions in 2023 to silly adoption jokes at Monaco to actively hanging out at every opportunity in 2024 and I think it’s adorable.

Like the constant flow of pictures of them chatting, always side by side when in bigger groups, before or during drivers’ parade, yapping in the cooldown room and in between press obligations, it feels like they’ve discovered each other this year it’s so sweet.

And they’re always so happy for each other, even when they’re disappointed with their own result! Oscar being sad in Monza but still yapping away, nodding approvingly when he hears of Charles’ 26 poles in Baku… and Charles being the first driver off the podium to come congratulate Oscar on his first win in Hungary, complimenting his divebomb in Baku despite it losing him the win! So much positivity they give me cuteness aggression 🥰

Oh and let’s not get started on the wheel-to-wheel action they gave us this year, hard but fair racing, all in all VERY sexy.

*sigh* thoughts on Nintendo's botw/totk timeline shenanigans and tomfoolery?

tbh. my maybe-unpopular opinion is that the timeline is only important when a game's place on the timeline seriously informs the way their narrative progresses. the problem is that before botw we almost NEVER got games where it didn't matter. it matters for skyward sword because it's the beginning, and it matters for tp/ww/alttp (and their respective sequels) because the choices the hero of time makes explicitly inform the narrative of those games in one way or another. it matters which timeline we're in for those games because these cycles we're seeing are close enough to oot's cycle that they're still feeling the effects of his choices. botw, however, takes place at minimum 10 thousand years after oot, so its place on the timeline actually functionally means nothing. botw is completely divorced from the hero of time & his story, so what he does is a nonissue in the context of botw link and zelda's story. thus, which timeline botw happens in is a nonissue. honestly I kind of liked the idea that it happened in all of them. i think there's a cool idea of inevitability that can be played with there. but the point is that the timeline exists to enhance and fill in the lore of games that need it, and botw/totk don't really need it because the devs finally realized they could make a game without the hero of time in it.

Head canon:

Hero's have adapted their suits to help them. They have extra back stabilization cus of a back injury, built in braces for their knees, elbow or wrists etc. This means they can't just take off their suits and trade them cus they're custom made for each hero.

Speaking of NRC staff I think it's extremely funny that you can pay for their valentine cards and every time Trein and Crewel are like "Why are you giving me gifts. I'm your teacher. Stop that" "Don't flirt with your teacher, focus on your classwork" "This is an inappropriate gesture and I cannot accept this" but NOT Crowley and Vargas who are too excited to receive fancy presents to realize that you are probably trying to flirt with them. And Sam just sends back a copy paste advertisement for his store every time. I love this game

WAIT HOW DID I MISS THIS FOR SO LONG,,, there's just something so funny to me about throwing money at your favorite game only to be told you're acting inappropriately and should really start paying attention in class. crewel and trein set boundaries and that's why they're the only two professionals working at this school. as for the others, i completely buy that vargas has never once had a thought in his life, and i think crowley's just too relieved that one (1) of his students doesn't hate him to really think about it too hard. in general there's no accounting for sam. he probably wouldn't respond at all if there wasn't a chance to advertise out of it fjkdsjfksdj fkl i luv you disney not-dating sim my beloved.

The amount of OPLA Season 2 promo lately is insane compared to other Netflix shows. Some fandoms, especially Stranger Things fans, have been complaining on the lack of content and promo for their fave Netflix shows, while we OPLA fans are constantly getting fed and spoiled lmao.

And we don’t even know the release date! It’s not even clear if they’ll release Season 2 this year/2025 or next year/2026 but the marketing has been insane.

The “big announcement” better be good, it better change my life 😤 lmao
