It was always that
I was there, gandalf, etc etc
I lived through not only Columbine era, I was there for the original scene/emo scene. As in, skinny jeans had not been invented, and the boys wore women's jeans to get the look, hair heat protectors were not commonly available, everyone was frying their hair, friends detained by for wearing a coat too long and carrying their band instruments, constant interrogation from all corners about if I was self-harming
And black was ALWAYS against dress code. Because it causes depression, because it makes you moody and therefore violent—all of it.
This is not new. And crucially?
It was always about this—
On the surface.
Yes, there are people who genuinely believe the styles and the video games are the cause, that the music is why someone self-harms, but often, it is about control.
And it is the most visible when this control is exerted over subcultures that deviate as far from the norm as scene/emo/punk/goth/metal and all the other subcultures where defiance of authority and social norms is part of the culture.
they're fucking banning being emo 😭😭
#emo never died it's just fucking your mom#defiance of social norms#Columbine mention#emo#scene#og scene era#og scene kid#punk#goth#metalhead#authoritarian control#authoritarianism#dress code#dress codes#dress codes are control methods#dress codes are authoritarianism#black has always been against dress code

i wish people would stop making well-intentioned positivity posts for stone bottoms/pillow princesses that begin and end with scolding people for ‘not respecting our boundaries.’ like yeah it’s partly about boundaries but it’s way more about how sex- topping in particular- is viewed as labor, and therefore must be a reciprocal or somehow equal exchange. the same way one might talk about household chores. shit-talking pillow princesses is so common within sapphic spaces because it is perceived to be a MORAL stance. treating this problem as if it’s purely an interpersonal matter of respecting individual boundaries is not gonna get us anywhere.
sex is only work when it’s sex work. if you think topping is a chore, you shouldn’t be doing it. if a satisfying sexual encounter for you involves taking turns, or trading orgasms, or whatever, of course that’s completely fine and good! the problem arises when people assume that’s the default, natural, moral, correct or only way of having sex as a queer person. when people assume that it goes without saying. stone folks exist in defiance of that. and everyone benefits from shedding normative, restrictive ideas about sex. which, by the way, is a value-neutral 100% optional activity with infinite variations. we need to work on tearing down any moralizing about how it should be done, beyond risk-aware consent, which is really all that matters.
people feel justified in disregarding, mocking, belittling or shaming stone folks’ boundaries because they do not think those boundaries are morally or socially correct. i know these positivity posts mean well, but shouting ‘respect boundaries!!’ over and over is missing the bigger picture.

why do people portray walburga and her relationship with sirius in such an exaggerated way? like torture??? i get that we don't have a lot of information about what went down, but its such an extreme choice
thank you very much for the ask, anon!
unsurprisingly, the answer to this is under the cut, because it comes with a trigger warning for discussions of physical and sexual abuse.
my interpretation of things is that it's a really interesting bleed-through into fandom of two real-world views a lot of people have:
firstly, that it's uniquely horrifying when a woman who is also a mother is cruel to children [or, indeed, when she's anything other than completely self-sacrificing and nurturing].
grimmauld place is a dozen different gothic literature tropes in a trenchcoat, and the text hammers that home with absolutely no subtlety whatsoever. it is walburga in the portrait - haunting sirius, serving as a physical manifestation of the rot of blood purity, making grimmauld place seem as much of a prison as azkaban - rather than orion because the reader wouldn't find it anywhere near as disgusting or frightening to see a man in that role, and the narrative meaning intended by the portrait therefore wouldn't come over as clearly.
[the subtext to walburga's character - that the portrait and the house are liminal spaces between life and death, a hint at the extraordinary grief she carries which will be revealed in deathly hallows - would also be interpreted very differently by the reader if they belonged to orion. walburga's grief - for both sirius and regulus - is inextricable from what the series thinks is "true" about motherhood and womanhood.]
and this - i think - is why, even though sirius does talk about the emotional abuse he experienced coming from both of his parents, the fandom is laser-focused on walburga. she's a bigger presence textually and she's a bigger presence textually entirely because she exists in defiance of deep-rooted societal opinions about how mothers should act.
[which we also see in the fandom's responses to petunia versus vernon and molly versus arthur...]
the second real-world view which bleeds through into the fandom's treatment of sirius' childhood is one which lots of people hold and which therefore has major, major repercussions for people in abusive households and relationships: the idea that abuse which isn't physically extreme [or, in the case of children, but much less often adults, sexual] isn't "as bad" as abuse which is.
and part of this is that the social norms we live by treat extreme physical abuse [and child sexual abuse] as objectively wrong, but treat abuse which doesn't meet this threshold of extremity much more subjectively.
a parent who beats their child so badly that they almost die will inspire outrage from all quarters. a parent who hits their child with a belt once across the backs of the legs as punishment for misbehaviour, but claims this is a form of reasonable physical discipline which doesn't cause their child any lasting harm, will find plenty of people willing to defend them as well as plenty of people willing to condemn.
and - of course - societal prejudices connected to things like gender, race, class, and so on play a big part in these splitting of opinions. a man who rapes his five-year-old child will be - in public, at least - unambiguously regarded as a criminal by everyone in a community. a man who rapes his female partner will find plenty of people willing to argue that it's her duty to provide him with sex and he was merely requiring her to fulfil that duty. a man who rapes his male partner will find plenty of people willing to say that gay men are all hypersexual and the victim loved it.
this subjectivity of response is also one of the reasons why emotional abuse, financial abuse, coercive control, stalking, and other forms of non-physical abuse still aren't taken as seriously as they should be. there's a widespread perception - and not just among police - that they're not dangerous in and of themselves.
from the fandom perspective, then, it seems to me that the writing of abusive situations often focuses on extreme physical violence as a way of authors offering "proof" to their readers that they take the fact that the character was abused seriously.
there is a worry - i think - in many authors' minds that if they wrote walburga never laying a hand on sirius, they would be accused of claiming his childhood was normal, his experience was fine, his parents' treatment of him was justified, or that he shouldn't be thought of as someone who was abused.
but - of course - something it's crucial for us to do in real life is be alert to just how complex and individual abuse is, and how poor our pre-conceived notions about what it is and what it isn't tend to be. i think the same is true in fandom, and it's why i think portrayals of non-physical abuse which take that abuse as bad enough are so important.

THE DARK ART OF SASCHA SCHNEIDER
Sascha Schneider (1870-1927) was a German Symbolist painter known for his dark, homoerotic works exploring themes of power, desire, and the occult. His mind was plugged into another part of the dark side that many of us will never know
Hypnosis, 1904
In this painting, the powerful muscular figure is sending out mesmerizing forces of energy over the more passive counterpart, therefore embodying tension between dominance and submission. Much of this composition was greatly influenced by Schneider's personal struggles with his identity and relationships, especially in his rocky affair with fellow artist Hellmuth Jahn.
Judas Iscariot, 1908
This is the portrayal of Judas in a moment of intense inner turmoil right after his betrayal of Christ. This work adheres to the themes related to guilt and betrayal. Schneider, who suffered rejection from society due to his sexuality, may have related to Judas' struggles, with the tension that lay between personal identity and societal expectations.
Triumph of darkness, 1896
This is a piece showing a powerful figure coming out, so to speak, of what could be interpreted as a dark, swirling mass, symbolizing the fight against despair and embracing one's subconscious. Dominance over darkness by the figure can be equated with Schneider's quest for self-acceptance and artistic liberty, especially being gay in a rather conservative society.
Mammon and his Slave c. 1896
This artwork depicts a dominating powerful male figure, Mammon, the demon of greed, over a small, emaciated figure (enslaved human soul). In it, one sees Schneider's expressions on how materialism can vitiate the human spirit. Being gay in a repressive society, he would likely identify the enslaved figure with his own struggle for self-acceptance.
The Anarchist 1894
The muscular male figure, epitomizes the archetype of an anarchist standing in an attitude of defiance against norms and constraints of society. This is an important theme to the artist, which concerns the quest for freedom and self-expression; thus, The Anarchist is a strong social commentary about individuality and standing up against oppression.

8. Eighth House (Transformation, Intimacy): This placement intensifies Black Moon Lilith's influence, highlighting issues related to power dynamics, sexuality, and shared resources. There may be a fear of vulnerability or a tendency towards obsessive behavior in intimate relationships.
Transitioning to the eighth house, Black Moon Lilith intensifies themes of power, sexuality, and the occult, fostering a penchant for experiences that border on the extreme. For some, pleasure is intertwined with pain, and they may be drawn to secret societies or occult practices as a means of enhancing their personal power. However, this placement can also bring about significant challenges and hardships throughout life.
9. Ninth House (Philosophy, Higher Learning): Beliefs and ideologies may be challenged or influenced by subconscious fears or desires. There may be a tendency towards skepticism or a deep curiosity about the occult and hidden knowledge.
In the ninth house, Black Moon Lilith instills a drive for intellectual exploration and a thirst for knowledge that may lead the individual down unconventional paths or towards questionable sources of information. They may encounter challenges discerning between authentic wisdom and deceptive teachings, yet possess the potential to become influential figures in academia or pioneers in their chosen fields, despite facing initial resistance and opposition.
10. Tenth House (Career, Public Image): Black Moon Lilith here could indicate struggles with authority or issues related to public recognition. There may be a fear of failure or a compulsion to achieve success at any cost.
Transitioning to the tenth house, Black Moon Lilith's influence makes the individual a formidable presence in their career and public life, often eliciting fear and animosity from society at large. Whether they rise to prominence in fields like fashion or military leadership, their journey resembles a narrative where moral distinctions blur, and perceptions of heroism or villainy are subjective. They are willing to employ unorthodox methods to achieve their goals, challenging conventional notions of success and power.
11. Eleventh House (Friendships, Goals): Issues surrounding social circles, group dynamics, and personal aspirations may be influenced by hidden motivations or unresolved conflicts. There may be a fear of betrayal or a tendency to manipulate social connections.
In the eleventh house, Black Moon Lilith instills a sense of grandiosity and a belief in one's capacity to shape the course of history. However, this can lead to tendencies towards egotism and delusions of grandeur, potentially leading individuals to engage in deceptive behaviors under the guise of serving the greater good. Such actions may result in community backlash, as the eleventh house is associated with societal outcasts, mirroring Lilith's own nature.
12. Twelfth House (Subconscious, Spirituality): Black Moon Lilith here heightens psychic sensitivity and may indicate a deep connection to the unconscious mind or the spiritual realm. There could be a tendency towards escapism or self-destructive behavior if not channeled constructively.
Transitioning to the twelfth house, Black Moon Lilith grants the individual a subtle yet potent ability to exert influence over the collective consciousness while keeping their intentions hidden. They possess intuitive gifts, enabling them to discern others' motives and navigate interpersonal dynamics with ease. However, romantic relationships may prove challenging, often fraught with frustration and complexities reminiscent of the archetype of the mistress, regardless of the individual's gender or relationship status.
Conclusion
It's important to remember that Black Moon Lilith's influence can vary depending on other aspects in your birth chart and how it interacts with your natal planets. Additionally, while it may represent darker or more hidden aspects of the self, working with these energies consciously can lead to profound personal growth and transformation.

The MOST Powerful Black Moon Lilith Signs
BLACK MOON LILITH IN AQUARIUS
In Lilith’s mythology, her refusal to obey Adam and her decision to leave Eden represent a fundamental rebellion against established authority. Aquarius embodies this same spirit of defiance. Lilith in Aquarius represents a fierce independence and the desire to break free from any constraints or traditional norms. Think of Lilith, alone in the wilderness, choosing exile over submission. This is the raw essence of Lilith in Aquarius: the rebel who dares to stand apart, to be different, to defy the rules that try to confine her.
Just as Lilith rejected a subordinate position in the Garden, Lilith in Aquarius challenges conformity and defies societal rules. Lilith in Aquarius craves authenticity in a world that often demands masks. She embodies the courage to stand alone and celebrate that aloneness as a badge of honor. Lilith in Aquarius is the outsider, the one who holds the torch for everyone who feels like they don’t quite belong—and she turns that alienation into a source of unstoppable strength.
BLACK MOON LILITH IN SCORPIO
Lilith in Scorpio knows the power in vulnerability, the strength in letting the world see your shadows, your scars, and your truth. This placement is about transformation through the dark—through the pain, through the things you don’t say out loud. It’s the willingness to confront your own demons and emerge on the other side, changed and yet unbroken.
Lilith in Scorpio resonates with Lilith’s mythological connection to primal sexuality, power struggles, and the darker aspects of desire. In the myth, Lilith is also often portrayed as a demonized figure who embraces her dark side. Scorpio is similarly unafraid of the darkness within and seeks to understand, transform, and harness that power. Scorpio’s energy is about confronting the shadow self, diving deep into the subconscious, and transforming through encounters with the taboo–hence why Black Moon Lilith is powerful in this sign.
BLACK MOON LILITH IN ARIES
Lilith in Aries is the force of nature who refuses to be anything but herself. In Aries, Lilith’s energy is direct and fearless. She is the one who says “no” without a second thought, who fights for her place in a world that often tries to shrink her down. Lilith embraces self-assertion, even at the expense of social harmony or compromise. She values her independence over societal expectations, even if it means facing exile.
Lilith in Aries doesn’t wait for permission, instead she takes what she knows is hers, fights for her right to exist on her own terms, and challenges anyone who tries to stand in her way. According to Christianity, Lilith was the first woman in the Garden of Eden to demand equality and independence., similarly to how Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac–this is a fitting parallel that shows Lilith’s pioneering spirit.
Lilith is also often associated with uninhibited sexuality and a refusal to conform to traditional gender roles. The energy of Lilith in Aries is fearless in expressing her sexuality, her desires, embodying a kind of raw passion that is both liberating and provocative.
BLACK MOON LILITH IN CANCER
Lilith in Cancer represents the power of mastering your emotions, the strength in vulnerability. Lilith in Cancer challenges traditional gender roles, the idea that to nurture is to be soft, compliant, or self-sacrificing–just as Lilith’s mythology challenges conventional gender roles. Instead, she embodies a darker, more complex aspect of the feminine. She’s the one who loves fiercely but not at the cost of her autonomy. She tells you it’s okay to feel everything—to be tender, to be raw, to be broken and whole all at once.
Lilith in Cancer takes you to the depth of your emotions, where the power lies not in hiding your feelings but in letting them flow. This placement points to having powerful emotional resilience and strength. It represents a person who is unafraid of their emotional nature or subconscious desires.
BLACK MOON LILITH IN SAGITTARIUS
Lilith in Sagittarius represents the part of you that refuses to stay put, that hungers for more—more truth, more freedom, more life. In Sagittarius, Lilith laughs in the face of convention and seeks her truth with nothing but her instincts to guide her.
Lilith’s mythology often involves challenging patriarchal structures and norms. In a similar way, Sagittarius questions established beliefs and seeks deeper truths. Lilith in Sagittarius represents the determination to live life according to your principles, often challenging societal or religious dogmas, much like Lilith did by refusing to conform to Adam’s demands.
Here, Lilith is the voice inside you that whispers, “Go, explore, there’s more to life than this.” Lilith in Sagittarius refuses to be caged by anyone’s expectations or beliefs, just like in Lilith’s mythology, with her decision to leave Eden rather than submit to subservience. She’s the embodiment of pure freedom, she tells you that your truth is yours to discover and that the journey is where your power lies.

What I love about Shulk's characterisation across Xenoblade Chronicles 1 is the way he doesn't fit any of the norms JRPG protagonists tend to have. He's on a journey due to a need for vengeance instilled in him from years of grooming and with nothing else to live for beyond that.
Shulk is awkward and clearly neurodivergent coded in how he perceives the world and his fixations but also how he struggles with a lot of the social situations he ends up in if not for the support of Dunban, Reyn and others he'd be lost and would go further into his isolation.
Once Shulk learns the truth about the Monado and the Mechon he starts to question himself and whether he's right in his beliefs. He wants to learn more about the world, who he is as a person and also avoid creating endless conflict in the way the world was designed.
Zanza grooms Shulk to become his vessel and fed his belief and need for vengeance. Shulk realises this once he finally met Machina and spoke to them, he learned they were normal people just like Homs. Shulk struggles with how the world truly is and wants to change that.
Shulks act of defiance during the end of Xenoblade 1 is a way of reclaiming his own identity as well as the freedom for all Homs and Mechon alike. Shulk's journey is a path of acceptance and discovery that continues on even throughout Xenoblade 3 and Future Redeemed.
The mature, but mentally scarred Shulk we see in Xenoblade 3 shows the development Shulk made for himself over time. He took in the lessons of those he idealised like Dunban and wished to become someone his son and others could look upto.
I love Shulk's character so much and he's a big attachment from my childhood which affects me even now. Xenoblade series has so much depth and it's a series many people can grow to love through it's diverse cast of characters.

Lilith Square Ascendant Culture
At its core, Lilith represents the repressed, wild feminine—she embodies themes of exile, rebellion, and unyielding independence. When she forms a square with the Ascendant, the person becomes a living contradiction. Their outward identity is constantly clashing with the darker, primal urges that Lilith governs. This leads to an unsettling aura, often creating tension both within and around the person.
Rejection of Social Norms: Lilith square Ascendant people might feel deeply uncomfortable with the traditional roles imposed on them. They could develop a strong need to rebel against societal expectations, embracing alternative lifestyles, subcultures, or controversial beliefs. Whether this manifests as involvement in fringe movements, or standing up against patriarchal systems, they are often drawn to areas that challenge the status quo.
Dark Feminine Energy: Culturally, Lilith represents the untamed feminine—one that refuses to be subjugated. Individuals with this aspect may carry an aura of defiance, especially in matters of gender roles or sexuality. They may align with feminist or gender-equality movements that push against oppressive structures, or they might explore marginalized sexual identities. They tend to be unapologetic about their desires, even when these clash with what’s deemed socially acceptable.
Conflict in Relationships: In relationships, Lilith square Ascendant can manifest as a constant struggle between attracting attention and feeling misunderstood. Culturally, this could place the person in conflict with family values, romantic partners, or traditional customs. Their relationships may often push against boundaries, involving themes of power, control, and freedom. They may be drawn to unconventional partnerships or feel uncomfortable in relationships that conform to societal expectations.
Shadow Work & Self-Identity: People with this aspect often feel the need to explore the darker sides of their personality or culture, delving into topics that others might shy away from, such as death, sexuality, or taboo subjects. They might be interested in goth or alternative subcultures, fascinated by the macabre or the mystical. They are often seen as cultural outsiders, but they take pride in this role. Rather than seeking approval, they find empowerment in owning their shadow self.
Public Perception vs. Inner Truth: Since the Ascendant governs how you present yourself, those with Lilith square Ascendant might struggle with being misperceived by society. They could be seen as provocative or rebellious even when they don’t intend to be. There’s often a gap between their inner desires (represented by Lilith) and how they are seen by others (Ascendant). This can lead to a sense of alienation, but it also fuels a desire to challenge the way society judges them.
Cultural Influence: These individuals might gravitate toward art, music, or literature that explores themes of rebellion, sexuality, and the human shadow. They could be drawn to punk, goth, or other subcultures that provide an outlet for their need to defy cultural norms. Often, they find their voice through artistic expression, using their discomfort with society as creative fuel. Culturally, they may inspire others to embrace their authenticity, especially when it involves breaking free from restrictive traditions.
Dark Aura and Mysterious Persona: People with Lilith square the Ascendant often project an eerie, magnetic aura that others can’t quite place. There’s something offbeat, almost predatory about their presence—not necessarily violent, but unsettling in its intensity. Whether they intend to or not, they can make others uncomfortable, like the feeling of being watched in the dark by something just outside of view.
Magnetism of the Unknown: There’s an attraction to darkness in both the inner and outer worlds. They may gravitate toward aesthetics that are heavy with shadow and death—perhaps drawn to gothic, occult, or macabre themes. Think of a person who feels more alive in cemeteries, or someone who finds comfort in themes of decay and destruction. This doesn’t necessarily make them sinister, but they carry an energy that makes people instinctively cautious.
Manipulation of Image: The person may use this dark energy as a tool, manipulating how others perceive them by leveraging their unsettling presence. They might enjoy the power that comes from making others feel uneasy, using it to keep people at arm’s length or in a state of intrigue. There is often a flirtation with danger in their relationships with others, a silent challenge for people to get close to them—if they dare.
Sexual Power and Control: Lilith governs raw, untamed sexual energy, and when in conflict with the Ascendant, this energy seeps into the person’s public persona. They may exude a kind of dangerous, seductive quality that feels both alluring and intimidating to those around them. Their sexuality is not passive or soft—it’s something primal, charged with the forbidden.
Seduction as a Weapon: There’s a tendency to view sex as a battleground for power and control. They may be adept at using their sexual presence to manipulate or ensnare others, drawing people in with the promise of pleasure while keeping them trapped in emotional or psychological games. This can create relationships that are intense and obsessive, where power dynamics often play out beneath the surface.
Fascination with Taboo Desires: Lilith square Ascendant can indicate an attraction to the darker side of sexuality—fetishes, BDSM, or themes of dominance and submission. These individuals might either indulge in or repress these desires, leading to internal conflict. Regardless of their actual sexual preferences, there’s an aura of transgression surrounding their relationships, as though they are constantly pushing against the boundaries of what’s socially or morally acceptable.
Haunted by the Shadow Self: Lilith square the Ascendant creates a constant tension between how the person wants to be seen and the shadowy urges that bubble up from the subconscious. There’s often a struggle with their own darker impulses—rage, jealousy, revenge—that they may try to hide but ultimately find impossible to suppress.
Inner Turmoil: This person may feel haunted by their darker desires, wrestling with impulses that go against societal norms or their own conscious values. They might find themselves drawn to destructive behaviors or toxic relationships, as if compelled by forces they can’t fully control. In a sense, they are often their own worst enemy, constantly sabotaging their chances at happiness by giving in to their shadow side.
Fascination with Death and the Macabre: There can be a deep fascination with death, darkness, and the unknown. Whether it’s through art, literature, or personal philosophy, they may explore morbid themes that others find disturbing. For them, the line between life and death is thin, and they might be drawn to concepts like necromancy, ghosts, or the afterlife. The idea of confronting mortality head-on feels strangely comforting, as though the darkness holds more truth than the light.
Power Struggles and Alienation in Social Settings: Lilith square Ascendant makes it difficult for these individuals to fit in with mainstream society. There’s a constant feeling of being "other," as though they are exiles from the normal social order. This can lead to a sense of alienation or loneliness, where they are always on the fringes, either rejected by others or choosing to reject society themselves.
Outcast Persona: These individuals may be drawn to subcultures that embrace darkness and rebellion, such as punk, goth, or occult communities. They seek spaces where they can explore the depths of human experience without judgment. However, even within these communities, they might struggle to truly belong, as the tension between their shadow self and public persona can create friction. They tend to be outsiders, even among outsiders.
Attracting Conflict: This aspect often brings power struggles into their social lives. They may attract enemies or rivals, as others instinctively sense their refusal to conform to the expected order. This can manifest as bullying in early life, or later, as dramatic feuds and fallouts with friends or colleagues. Their refusal to play by the rules makes them a target for those who feel threatened by their difference.
Exploration of Dark Archetypes: People with Lilith square Ascendant might feel an internal pull toward embodying darker archetypes, such as the witch, the femme fatale, or the tortured artist. These archetypes hold a kind of twisted power, and embodying them feels like a way to claim ownership over their own darkness rather than letting it control them.
Witch Archetype: There’s often a connection to esoteric, forbidden knowledge. They may have an interest in witchcraft, dark magic, or occult practices, seeking to understand the mysteries of the universe through unconventional means. The witch archetype symbolizes both their power and their alienation, as witches in myth are often outcasts who harness their darkness for personal empowerment.
Femme Fatale: For those who lean into their sexuality, the femme fatale archetype is potent. They embrace their ability to mesmerize and manipulate, using it as a form of rebellion against patriarchal structures. However, this power can be double-edged, often leading to destructive relationships or emotional isolation.

Amidst the kaleidoscope of social strata, one thing that sticks out for you: his shoes.
While some attendees adorn themselves in lavish, bespoke suits, busy with their own affairs while the events before them serve as a mere backdrop, others, those less fortunate, come in more casual in hopes to earn some quick money.
He, on the other hand, is rather glaring with his choice of clothing. Too casual. Insouciant. Black tracksuit, something more fitting for a morning jog or a workout at the gym. The fabric seems slightly worn, a faint stain on the sleeve. His shoes, however, are the most intriguing part of his ensemble. They stand out. Like a flash of lightning on a stormy night.
In a sea of polished leather and high-end dress shoes, he wears a pair of scuffed, worn flip-flops. It's not just the stark contrast between his flip-flops and the elegant footwear of others that piques your interest. Rather the aura of confidence and a nonchalant demeanor that could easily be mistaken for arrogance.
Even for the outfit, he’s rather handsome. Raven hair tumbling down just to his ears, framing the chiseled planes of his face. The faint scar on the corner of his right lip only adds to the air of mystery surrounding him.
In contrast to the meticulously groomed individuals around him, his appearance carries an air of authenticity. As if he doesn't conform to societal norms but carves his own path instead.
He’s here often. Twice a week. A clockwork of unwavering routine. A regular fixture. Each time, he places his bet on the same number. It’s always three. No regard for any other possibilities. He’s staying the whole day, watches all the races and loses his money. Each and every time.
You stand on the stairs leading to the ticket vending machines, overlooking the racers warm up around the buoy. People passing by until he’s here again. In the same outfit, with the same aura of disregard, detachment.
He passes you as well. A solid wall, going straight, no disregard whether you move out of the way or not. Makes you take a step aside. You know he’s here to lose again. Letting out a grunt, an annoyed huff of air, your voice carries through the loud environment when his bicep brushes your shoulder.
"Here to lose again?"
It makes him stop. Look you dead in the eyes. You can feel the steel behind his eyes as he studies you. Tries to understand why someone like him – a man who’d been losing every race for months – is being confronted by someone like you, someone with nothing more than a passing interest in the track and its races.
For a moment, time seems to slow down as his gaze locks with yours. His eyes, like storm-touched steel, easily likened to polished basalt, peer out from under strong, dark eyebrows. Hooded. Locked onto yours. A thunderous downpour.
He stays silent for solid few seconds. Possibly aiming to intimidate you into leaving him alone. Yet, he fails as you stand tall next to him; not backing down or wilting away under his scrutiny.
"Who says I’m here to lose," he retorts, a touch of defiance in his voice. The hint of a smirk plays on his lips as he studies you, perhaps trying to gauge your intentions.
As you arch an eyebrow, you remark, "I haven’t seen you win yet. You've been betting on the same number, sir, every time I've seen you here. And from what I've observed, you haven't had much luck."
His brows furrow momentarily before he responds with a knowing smirk, matching your aura with his own brand of dry wit.
"Luck has nothing to do with it. Besides, one day, that number will hit."
His confidence is almost infectious, and despite the peculiar choice of his attire and betting strategy, there's an air of genuineness in his words.
"Then why don’t you bet for other numbers," your body pivots to face him, arms crossed over your chest, "try it," you hold your chin high, " buy a place-show, numbers four and six."
To your suggestion of trying other numbers, the man chuckles softly, seemingly amused by the idea, "and why would I do that?"
"You have better odds with the place-show ticket rather than the win ticket," you explain with a shrug, "and if you lose, you’ll have someone else to aim your anger at."
He smirks, nodding thoughtfully as if considering your proposition. "Ah, you're one of those logical types, ain’t ya? Always calculating the odds an’ playing it safe."
You chuckle at the characterization, appreciating his keen observation. "I haven’t lost in a long time. Plus," you blatantly look him up and down, "I have a feeling you could use some luck, and maybe a touch of charm wouldn't hurt either."
He raises an eyebrow, the faint scar on his lip accentuating the mischievous glint in his eye. "Charm, huh? What's in it for you?"
Flashing a grin at his question (it's a valid one, after all), you meet the playful spark in his laden eyes.
"Oh, nothing much," you reply, feigning nonchalance, a familiar mask that you wear to try to stifle the faint tremor of fear, "let’s just say if you win, you’ll owe me a favor."
One moment, you were sitting a few seats next to the man, a winning ticket grasped between your fingers; both watching the race unfold before your eyes.
Next, a subtle, self-assured grin spreads over his face as the winning numbers are announced.
("Would ya’ look a’that.."
"Who would’ve thought…")
And then, flicker in time. You find yourself in an alleyway, still at the stadium and next to a dumpster. Away from the fanfare of the racetrack. A putrid stench of decaying food still in the air overpowered by the potent, heady musk of Toji’s body as the concrete scrapes against your naked knees. Uncomfortable and rough.
Pants lowered down only enough for his cock to spring free; the tip glistening with pearls, a byproduct of his pleasure. Lifting your head slightly, you dip down to kiss the dew away as your hand, wet with precum and spit, moves over his length, pads tracing every curve and ridge.
Lips swollen. Jaw hurting from the tight fit, Toji’s fingers grip the top of your head; urging you to take him in deeper, feel him heave in your mouth. Careless to the fact you should need air. But at this moment, looking up and seeing his eyes already boring into yours, oxygen’s the last thing on your mind.
"That’s it," his husky froan reverberates in your ears as his thumb traces the arch of your eyebrow before his hand cups your cheek, cradles your face, "atta girl."
His words cause heat flooding into your core. A warmth to blossom from deep within. Feeling your heart thudding between your legs, you press your thighs together more. Fingers moving along the exposed, wet slit before pushing one in—
It’s barely a stretch. Disappointing.
—then two.
Letting his cock from your mouth, the sweetness lingering on your tongue as you move the top of your tongue along the underside of his head. Glistening, painfully swollen and painfully red. Hand gliding over the length, thumb pressing onto the sensitive slit, causing a stream of Fuck, Goddamn and your name stream from his bruised lips.
Spit-covered lips trace the underside of his cock, leaving a glossy trail behind. With a trembling breath, he taps your temple.
"Up."
You don’t even register his command before a hand encloses your arm, effortlessly lifting you on your feet.
"Wait," you squeal, a mixture of surprise and trepidation when he crunches down. Putting a hand instinctively on his shoulder to steady yourself, you feel the taut muscle, finely sculpted and responsive to his movements. Fingers gripping your ankle with determined strength; in one deft motion, he liberates your leg from the confines of the pant leg (and carelessly leaves the other be).
For a moment, you feel like a child again – pushed around, a small puppet, being dressed and undressed by another's hands.
It’s all happening too fast yet not swiftly enough.
His lips brush over your dripping core. Gives it a lick. A taste of your sweetness, humming in appreciation when your juices coat his tongue, lips, chin. And when you push your hips into his face, shamelessly chasing the feeling of his tongue – he stands back up. Palm making a benign impact with your swollen core, leaving you gasping from the sudden jolt of pain.
"Maybe ‘nother time," he speaks up. Hand grasping your ankle, resting it against his shoulder, heel digging into his collarbone, foot beside his face. Teeth grace your ankle, the wet tip of his tongue darting to lick a stripe over the fibula. All while his fingers spread the wetness leaking out of you, fingertips tracing your opening, teasing the entrance with his pads.
"Someone’s a lil’ eager."
You feel the blunt press. Too thick for his fingers.
The head of his cock spreads you open. You fight the urge to close your eyes, lean onto the brick wall barely touching your back. Instead, you force your gaze to remain on Toji’s face; his eyes hooded, barely open but piercing through you as he pushes forward. Slowly.
His hips push forward, fighting the resistance as you welcome the feeling. Heart racing, a groan leaves your lips when Toji grips your waist and pulls you onto him. Cock grazing your sensitive walls, you watch his eyes close in a blissful moment momentarily.
A feeling of triumph washes over you – you managed to capture the beast itself in its most vulnerable state.
Then he snaps. Gets impatient. And if it wasn’t for the hand on your waist, you’d certainly lose balance with the raw, almost inhuman strength with which he thrusts into you.
"Ugh—fuck, oh God," eyes closed, you succumb to the feeling; shallow, deep thrusts slowly speeding up, turning into something more resembling a pounding. Savage.
His lips brush the shell of your ear, fingers digging into the fat of your hips before moving upwards, cupping your clothed breast, thumb flicking your erect nipple, "told ya it’s Toji."
It goes like this. You try to steady yourself on one foot, clinging onto Toji’s arms as if he’s your beacon. Mouth agape, you rest your forehead on his collarbone. The hamstring in your leg feels close to ripping apart when his hand slides onto your thigh, providing a reassurance that makes the ache between your legs flare up with ardent fervor.
Toji pulls and pushes — forcing your body to twist, spinning you around to the point where your hands can rest on the wall. One leg’s still on the ground while the other is held against his broad chest. All while his thrusts remain merciless.
He fills you up, the fat head of his cock pressing against your depths, stretching you wider and deeper than before. Shameless squelching filling your ears whenever he bottoms out. Pulls out only halfway, his cock glistening with your juices and his precum when it almost slips free. Coaxing moan after moan from you.
"Damn," he stops, cock buried to the hilt and you feel the pads of his fingers swipe over your clit. Moving down, to the place you two are connected, "feel that?"
Wetness; his fingers dip between your folds, trace your core.
"Look at that."
And you look — wishing that maybe you didn’t. He scissors his fingers before your face, showing off the sticky substance connecting his fingers, glistening in the daylight. Heat shoots up your whole body when his smug face watches your reaction, a sly grin spreading on his lips when a moan comes out of you.
His thrusts come back without warning. Deep. He pulls you back into his cock.
It’s blissful. Euphoric. But painful.
"Can’t," you breath out, feeling close to cramping, "m’not that flexible."
"Oh really," he remarks. Yet, his grasp loosens on your body.
It feels like hours have passed with the way Toji ruts into you. Truly living up to the expectations one would’ve expected from a man his build and reputation.
Bend over, palms flat against the rough surface of the brick wall, Toji relentlessly pounds into you. The spongy head of his cock feels as if it’s breaching the opening of your cervix, mingling pain and pleasure in a confusing mix.
"Hey," a high-pitched voice startles you, Toji’s pelvis kissing the flesh of your ass as he buries himself to the brim, "What you doin’ there?!"
His hand moves from the arch of your back, fingers burning as they trace onto your hip. Squeezing, locking you against him.
"Takin’ a piss," Toji remains unfazed. Voice laced with a subtle hint of boredom while his cock pulsates inside you.
Taking a hand off the wall, you slap it across your mouth. Gentle fear of even your breaths being heard (and it doesn’t matter that you are good ten meters from the passerby).
"The toilets are right over there," the man shouts, making you question whether he’ll take a step toward you.
You’re aware that for a passerby, your figure is hidden behind the dumpster and unless Toji thrusts into you, it would look as if the man is simply relieving himself in the alley. Still fully clothed, only the front of his pants down enough for his cock to be free, one might think he’s telling the truth.
Silence falls onto you, forcing your head to turn to the side. Neck straining, you look over your shoulder – Toji’s unphased, nonchalant demeanor combined with the overly muscular physique visible even with loose clothes on radiates authority. Brutality. His demeanor serene; a tranquil lake at dawn. It would frighten you as well if you weren’t impaled on his cock.
His head lurches to the left, eyes locking onto the poor man's soul with an intense and penetrating gaze. It might be enough to scare the man away. To leave you alone.
That’s when he pulls back. Only an inch, mere centimeters but still enough to thrust back with rough intent. Body jolting forward, a surprised yelp gets muffled by your hand. Heat ripples through you.
He’s shameful, you realize. Salacious with his indecency.
The corners of his lips turn upward. Not enough for the passersby to see but from your point of view, it only fuels the sadistic image of the man behind you. The man whose cock keeps massaging your walls with shallow, almost non-existent thrusts.
How dare he.
"Whatever."
Loud footsteps echo through the alley before Toji’s fingers curl around your nape and he yanks. Hand pushing against the lower of your back, the other moving to the side of your neck as he twists your body into his own, pliant toy. Into a position he desires.
"Damn–," he breaths against the hairs on the back of your neck, chill breath washing over the shivering area, "does that turn ya’ on? Being watched?"
He pulls back at a leisurely pace. Unhurried. In and out.
"Fucked dumb on my dick–"
In and out.
"–while some loser watches your drippin’ cunt soak me."
Hitting that sweet, sensitive but delicate spot deep inside you; that even your fingers cannot reach. The one that makes you see stars, feel the heat in your core spread.
"Shut up," you basically snarl, pushing your ass into his crotch with fervor, forcing him deeper, causing his breath to hitch with his lips brushing over your burning skin, "shut up."
He chuckles at that. Licks a stripe over your shoulder. Moves to the side of your neck before his teeth sink into the earlobe, tugging.
"Could feel you squeezin’ me back then," the hand on the side of your neck inches forward; now resting firmly against the front of your neck, a silent reminder of the power it wields. The pressure is gentle but firm, a subtle yet unmistakable display of control. All while Toji matches your rhythm, thrusting at a pace that gets you closer to the sweet abyss.
Your hand moves from the wall, slides over the curve of your belly and find its place between your legs.
"Close ‘em," Toji’s thrusts grow in intensity. Forcing your body forward – to prevent falling, his hand on your back moves to rest against the wall, trapping your delicate hand underneath the roughness of his palm, the other holding you close by the neck.
"Ugh–wh–what," you barely breathe out, legs straining to keep the pace as the heat spreads.
"Your legs. Close ‘em."
And you do. Pushing your thighs together, a whole new sensation surges through your body as his cock fills you up. And it seems Toji feels the same by the way your name leaves his lips in a heavy groan, forehead resting against the crown of your head.
"Fuck yeah," he sighs, palm kneading the flesh of your ass. He’s pushing his hips against yours. Pulls you back into him with fingers itching to your aching nub. Finger flicking over it, making you shudder and moans to grow louder.
The coil in your abdomen grows tighter with each flick of his finger, kiss of his cock. Breath catching in your throat, you push back against Toji when the searing bliss washes over you.
He fucks you through it all.
"Gonna cum," you feel him thicken, pulse inside you. Hips stuttering, speeding and growing in intensity as he chases his own high.
"Not inside," you don’t struggle. Let him absolutely destroy you.
And he listens. Gives you few more fucks before he pulls out. Fists his cock, eyes watching your dripping, swollen pussy before you feel the sticky globes land on your core, slide down your clenching thighs.
He groans behind you. Hand resting on top of your ass, thumb caressing the skin there as you try to catch your breath. All while the man seems only slightly fazed by all the fucking. Makes you feel weak, pathetic — looking like you’d done a full workout while he’s standing behind you.
You stand back up. Wipe the cum off with a tissue you dig from your bag before pulling your pants back up, breath still slightly labored.
"Was this what I owed you?"
He fixes his pants, adjusting the waistband to hug the defined muscles of his lower abdomen, fleshing you his happy trail.
You shake your head to which his eyes narrow softly, "I want to hire you, Mr Fushiguro," hands fixing the mess on top of your head, you turn your back to The Sorcerer Killer, "take the win as your upfront payment."

Author Spotlight: Tiana Warner
Who says witches are only for October? Author of current club read How to Flirt with a Witch, Tiana Warner, highlights the role of witches as feminist icons in a proposal to make 2025 the year of the witch!
Witches as feminist icons: 5 reasons to make 2025 the year of the witch
Between books, TV, movies, and musicals, witches are having a heyday, and it’s about time. In fact, now is better than ever for this symbol of female power to rise to popularity.
Here are 5 reasons witches are total icons that we should all aspire to.
Joan of Arc
1. Witches defy societal norms
This is no surprise, but witch hunts of the past weren’t really about magic. They were about controlling and suppressing women and marginalized people.
Living without a man? Independent income? Hanging out with other women instead of trying to find a husband? How dangerous. Must be a witch.
Many women accused of witchcraft were unconventional, independent (unmarried or widowed), or had strong social bonds with other women. They were boldly different—and today, we can channel the energy of those fierce women as a source of strength.
2. Witches challenge the patriarchy
Witch trials were fueled by the fear and hatred of women, especially those who were “disobedient”. This misogyny often intersected with homophobia, as women who formed close connections with other women were seen as threats to the traditional family structure. People were also targeted based on race and class. In essence, “witches” were strong women and marginalized individuals whom society deemed too deviant, too threatening, and too powerful.
3. Covens are found family
Covens are communities whose members share resources, knowledge, and strength, forming a united and unstoppable force. These sisterhoods are all about mutual support, creating a sense of belonging that is often lacking in mainstream society.
Today’s witches and Wiccan covens continue the tradition of solidarity, providing inclusive spaces for people to explore their spiritual paths without fear of judgment.
4. Witches resist traditional gender roles and sexuality
There’s something wonderfully sapphic about a group of women living together and doing little witchy spells and rituals. But the link between witches and sapphism is more than that. Back in the witch trials, deviations in sexuality and gender were used to justify witchcraft accusations. Joan of Arc was targeted for being “manly” and wearing men’s clothing. Even some men who defied societal norms, particularly queer men or those seen as feminine, were accused of witchcraft. The Malleus Maleficarum, the infamous 15th-century witch-hunting manual, warned against acting “unwomanly” and said witches engaged in sexual relations with other women.
Medieval people might have been terrified of sexuality, but today, sexuality is something to be celebrated. Joan of Arc is now a symbol of resilience. Witches in popular culture come in all the colors of the rainbow. Modern Wiccan traditions embrace feminist ideals that uplift queer identities. Witches continue to live outside conventional gender roles, defying societal expectations around sexuality, clothing, and lifestyles.
5. Witches are symbols of resilience
Feared and revered, witches have always been powerful women who live by their own rules. In medieval times, accusations of witchcraft were used to silence women, and the legacy of those who fought against the injustices lives on. From a dark history, witches have come to represent the strength and solidarity needed to overcome oppression. And in today’s media, what is a witch if not a strong woman fighting for what she wants?
From the Salem witch trials to modern Wiccan practices and witches in the media, witches have always been badass icons of defiance, feminism, and empowerment. Gather your coven, channel the fierce energy of our witchy ancestors, and let’s make 2025 the year of the witch.

ruby helping sol have 8,000 safe abortions in defiance of her controlling husband is important to me bc it so strongly encapsulates ruby's character: doing dangerous things in defiance of powerful people for no reason except that it's the right thing to do. i've always been bored and unhappy with generic "hero" characters who are In The Right and Trying To Do Good & i only recently realized that's because so many of those protags reinforce horrible social norms bc the writers are presenting that as The Right Thing. (for example: every copaganda show.) when i got into shows like leverage and the owl house where the main cast are all criminals who care about doing the right thing BECAUSE they're criminals?? That's Where I Live And Breathe Baybey....
ruby has a ruthlessness and a drive in her that most archetypal nice sweet characters aren't allowed to have. you can do a LOT with a woman running on righteous fury.
#original fiction#ruby#thinking about that when kind characters are unhinged and violent post i just rbed. go off girl#post for rafi bc ruby is their favorite of the quartet.#nova is a woman who'd be the protagonist of the hero stories i can't stand. that's the difference between them

Lucifer & Luciferianism
Lucifer, a figure traditionally associated with rebellion, light-bringing, and the pursuit of knowledge, holds a significant place in the belief system known as Luciferianism. Unlike the portrayal of Lucifer in mainstream Christian theology, where he is often depicted as a fallen angel and embodiment of evil, Luciferianism views Lucifer in a more complex and nuanced light. This essay will explore the origins of Lucifer as a symbol, the key tenets of Luciferianism, and the role Lucifer plays within this philosophy, emphasizing the themes of enlightenment, personal empowerment, and the rejection of dogmatic authority.
Origins and Symbolism of Lucifer
The name "Lucifer" originates from the Latin term "lux" (meaning light) and "ferre" (meaning to bring), translating to "light-bringer" or "morning star." In ancient Roman mythology, Lucifer was a name given to the planet Venus when it appeared in the morning sky, symbolizing the bringer of light before dawn. This concept of Lucifer as a light-bringer later became intertwined with Christian theology, where Lucifer was reinterpreted as a rebellious angel cast out of Heaven for challenging God’s authority.
Lucifer in Christian Theology:
In the Bible, particularly in the book of Isaiah (14:12-15), Lucifer is depicted as a fallen angel who sought to ascend to the heavens and become equal to God. This act of rebellion resulted in his expulsion from Heaven and his subsequent association with Satan, the adversary. Over time, Lucifer became synonymous with the devil, symbolizing pride, defiance, and the embodiment of evil.
Reclamation of Lucifer in Esoteric Traditions:
However, in various esoteric and Gnostic traditions, Lucifer is reclaimed as a symbol of enlightenment and the quest for knowledge. In these interpretations, Lucifer represents the pursuit of truth, the challenge of oppressive systems, and the light of wisdom that guides humanity. This reinterpretation is foundational to Luciferianism, where Lucifer is seen not as an evil being, but as a symbol of individual empowerment and the search for enlightenment.
Key Tenets of Luciferianism
Luciferianism is a philosophical and spiritual belief system that venerates the qualities associated with Lucifer, such as enlightenment, personal freedom, and the pursuit of knowledge. It is not a religion in the traditional sense but rather a path that encourages individuals to seek their own truth and cultivate their inner strength.
Enlightenment and Knowledge:
At the core of Luciferianism is the pursuit of enlightenment and knowledge. Followers of this path view Lucifer as a symbol of the light of reason and intellect, guiding them towards self-discovery and understanding. This pursuit of knowledge often involves questioning established norms, challenging dogmatic beliefs, and exploring the deeper mysteries of existence.
Personal Empowerment and Self-Actualization:
Luciferianism emphasizes the importance of personal empowerment and self-actualization. It encourages individuals to take control of their own destinies, make informed choices, and cultivate their own inner power. This process of self-empowerment is seen as a form of spiritual evolution, where individuals transcend limitations and realize their full potential.
Rejection of Dogma and Authority:
A key aspect of Luciferianism is the rejection of dogmatic authority, particularly that which suppresses individual thought and freedom. Luciferians often challenge religious, social, and political structures that they perceive as oppressive or limiting. This rebellious spirit is inspired by the myth of Lucifer's defiance against the ultimate authority, symbolizing the struggle for autonomy and the rejection of blind obedience.
Ethical Individualism:
While Luciferianism values individualism, it also advocates for ethical conduct and personal responsibility. Luciferians believe in acting in accordance with their own moral compass, rather than adhering to external codes of behavior imposed by society or religion. This ethical individualism is based on the principles of self-respect, respect for others, and the pursuit of what is just and true.
Spiritual Transformation and Alchemy:
Many Luciferians view their path as one of spiritual transformation, akin to the alchemical process of turning base metals into gold. This transformation involves the refinement of the self through the integration of knowledge, the overcoming of personal weaknesses, and the development of wisdom. Lucifer, as a symbol of the light that guides this process, represents the alchemist’s fire that purifies and transforms.
Lucifer as a Symbol in Luciferianism
Lucifer in Luciferianism is not worshipped as a deity but is revered as a symbolic figure representing the ideals of the belief system. The qualities associated with Lucifer—rebellion, enlightenment, and personal sovereignty—are central to the Luciferian path.
Lucifer as the Light-Bringer:
In Luciferianism, Lucifer’s role as the light-bringer is paramount. This light is understood metaphorically as the light of knowledge, reason, and truth. Luciferians seek to bring this light into their own lives by striving for intellectual and spiritual enlightenment. This contrasts sharply with the traditional Christian view of Lucifer as the bringer of darkness and deceit.
Lucifer as the Rebellious Spirit:
Lucifer’s rebellion against God is reinterpreted in Luciferianism as a noble act of defiance against tyranny and oppression. Luciferians see this rebellion as a metaphor for the human spirit’s quest for freedom and autonomy. Rather than viewing Lucifer’s fall as a tragic event, they see it as a necessary step towards the assertion of personal will and the rejection of unjust authority.
Lucifer as the Promethean Figure:
Similar to the Greek myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods to give to humanity, Lucifer is seen as a Promethean figure who brings the fire of knowledge to mankind. This fire represents the spark of consciousness and the capacity for self-reflection, creativity, and innovation. Luciferians honor this aspect of Lucifer by valuing intellectual curiosity and the pursuit of forbidden or hidden knowledge.
The Role of Ritual and Practice in Luciferianism
While Luciferianism is largely a philosophical path, some practitioners incorporate ritual and ceremonial practices to align themselves with the energies and symbolism of Lucifer. These practices vary widely depending on the individual or group but often focus on themes of self-empowerment, transformation, and the invocation of inner strength.
Meditation and Self-Reflection:
Meditation is a common practice among Luciferians, used to cultivate inner peace, clarity, and self-awareness. Through meditation, individuals can connect with the symbolic energy of Lucifer, seeking guidance and insight on their personal path of enlightenment.
Rituals of Empowerment:
Rituals in Luciferianism may involve symbolic acts of empowerment, such as the lighting of candles (representing Lucifer’s light), the recitation of affirmations, or the performance of ceremonies designed to invoke personal strength and determination. These rituals are not about worship but about embodying the qualities that Lucifer represents.
Symbolic Alchemy:
Some Luciferians engage in symbolic alchemical practices, using metaphors of transformation and purification to work on their own personal development. This might involve ritualistic acts that represent the shedding of old, limiting beliefs and the embrace of new, empowering ones.
Conclusion
Lucifer’s significance in Luciferianism is profound and multifaceted, representing the pursuit of enlightenment, personal empowerment, and the defiance of oppressive authority. Far from being a figure of evil, Lucifer is revered as a symbol of the light-bringer, the rebel, and the seeker of truth. Luciferianism, as a belief system, encourages individuals to embrace their inner power, challenge dogma, and strive for self-actualization. By redefining Lucifer in a positive light, Luciferians find inspiration in the mythological figure to guide their spiritual and philosophical journey, emphasizing the importance of knowledge, autonomy, and ethical individualism.

following the Gävlebocken saga is such a win-win scenario actually
if it doesn’t burn, you get to celebrate it as a symbol of survival and perseverance against adversity and a world trying to destroy you
if it does burn you get to celebrate it as a symbol of chaos and defiance of authority and social norms
And if it gets eaten by birds, then you get to celebrate it as a symbol of absurdity and the unpredictability of life and nature!
#In case you can’t tell I’m a goat half full kinda gal#Thank you tumblr user hasgavlebockenburneddownyet for your service

Me in 2013, turned off from Kill La Kill: "Ugh, why does anime have to be so weird about teenagers? This is clearly just an excuse to draw underage girls in sexual situations."
Me in 2024, obsessed with Dandadan: "No, you see, it represents strength in vulnerability and defiance of social norms that treat the human body as shameful. It's not fanservice, I swear! They're fighting for their lives! You barely notice the unferwear shots and like it's both genders so..."
