#deer pelts

Despite being in the vulture culture community for a long time- I ain’t ever actually caped a deer before. Mostly because roadkill is my main source of supply, and I didn’t get a freezer until a few years ago.

Imagine my surprise when my mom called me up saying there was a deceased doe in our neighborhood.

Anyways, the entire process of getting this little lady preserved involved lots of blood, sweat, and tears. Mainly blood though. Many of her insides have been preserved, her pelt tanned(which can be seen in a previous post), and as you can see here- her head mounted and displayed. While processing her carcass, a friend and I discovered she was pregnant. Next week is when the preservation of her fawn will be fully complete and ready for display.

There are plenty of things in this form that I can improve on, but over all I am happy with the result. I have learned so much and I cannot wait to apply it to my next animal. Though she had a rough life, I hope I can give her and her baby a beautiful death :)) I am taking name requests if anyone has some.

The wolf thought itself smart, using the pelt of an old doe. It snuck closer to the deer, unable to keep itself from salivating.

'What a great idea!' It smiled. 'Deer folks are too shy and weak to figure it out! I will surely fool them!'

The buck's ears flicked, unsure, as it watched the weird masquerade. The doe next to him snorted, once, keeping her eyes on the figure emerging from the shadows.

With one swift kick, they bounded away, laughing their soft laugh.

'Did it really think it was going to work? The beast's stench betrayed it far too soon!'

It seems it would take more than superficial looks to fool its prey, in the end.

I’m not a huge fan of venison nor am I a hunter myself but whenever someone is like “I think deer hunting is disgusting, it’s barbaric. Those precious and beautiful animals deserve to live in their habitats unharmed and undisturbed without human predators.” I’m like “Mmm. I think you gotta kill yourself.”

Deer collision

So... I went on a trip to visit family... And on the way their we hit a deer

The tiny night lord is okay it was a slow collision but still a collision with a deer.

I might start a go fund me just to see if I can get some help because ATM it sounds like we're on our own for it and it sounds like we have to pour 2k worth of repairs into it before insurance covers the rest.

So I guess on Thursday if you guys see a post from me that's a gofundme ... Welp I guess you will know why

I'm trying to have a great Canadian Thanksgiving but have this stress looming over me and I'm just so tired. I just want to ask into the void and I honestly don't expect anything from anyone this is more of me telling myself "welp I did it instead of just thinking what ifs I actually did it"

Essentially, some time post-Saint, Pebbles somehow got off his string and collapsed on Monk and Survivor’s “doorstep”.

Survivor, Monk, and the rest of the small colony they lead step up and take care of Pebbles.

Anyway, here’s a partial deer pelt I collected from a roadkill doe. Tanned and stretched out on a thrifted wardrobe mirror frame. I really like how it turned out, now if only I had the wall space to actually display it…

Wayfarer! They have a boat-like structure that can move across fields of worm grass.

They let creatures onto the boat to go across, since they find rain deer unreliable bastards and made it their life goal to do their job better than them.

They also guide creatures to the void and help them ascend, pointing out echoes and doing karma stuff I guess, what a hippie.
