◌. ❝ ━━〔 ♠ 〕❝ . . . WHAT HAVE you, ah, got there ? ❞ --- well, he’d been planning a rather more graceful opening line than that one, but he’d been caught a bit off-guard by the odd little device the detective is tinkering about with, so he supposes it will have to do. he’d have had to ask about it eventually, after all. perhaps he’d just been planning to have a quick chat with the man ( & see if he could manage to get the detective to let a little information on his current case slip ) , but whatever this is could potentially throw a wrench into his meticulously laid plans.
OR IT could explode. he grimaces, just slightly. one never quite knows with detective holmes. he’s already wishing a different detective had been assigned to this case -- but what can you do ? his affable smile has reasserted itself by the time he speaks again, that veneer of friendliness all back in perfect place. ❝ some new piece of equipment i’m yet to hear about, i’m sure -- ? i’ll admit i’m curious as to its function. ❞ a quick pause, as if in sudden concern. ❝ ah -- but don’t let me waste your time, detective. ❞

“Are you sure it’s really a good idea for you to be the detective on this case?” It wasn’t that he doubted Sherlock’s skills as a detective; it was just that he doubted Sherlock’s skills as a person.
“You’re not going to make anything explode, right? We kind of need the evidence in, you know, one piece.”

She’s pretty heavy too! Nearly 200lbs of primarily muscle. Poor Sherlock’s back was bound to give out long enough, especially when this barbarian woman bounces a little on it. But don’t mind her, she was simply happy to see the guy, and expressed it through physical (harm) affection.
“Where ya been, old man! All work and no play, eh? I need some attention too, y’know.” She’ll press her entire weight on him now, shifting herself to lie on top of him (not unlike some sort of animal establishing dominance) and wonders, distantly, if he could do a push up.

{🐇}- “I know police dogs are the common police animal...” Bonny’s voice was as soft as ever as she mused aloud to the detective.
“But do you think other animals could be trained for the same thing? I mean, people have service animals besides dogs; I saw a news story the other day about a woman with an emotional support horse. So, wouldn’t you be able to train a bunny to help find clues or drugs?”

@deductionking started following you
Good afternoon, sir. Excuse me...
Despite her wide-eyed facade, Dahlia’s grey eyes take in the sight of the man before her, scanning him for anything she could use or manipulate to her advantage. He was handsome, yes, and tall, but what in the world was with that awful deerstalker hat? Who does he think he is, Sherlock Holmes?
I’m so sorry to trouble you, but I...I need some help...

❛ Erm – yes, I’m alright. Thank you. ❜ His words instantly betrayed him the moment he stated he was “fine”, if it did accommodate to his reassurance, any abnormality of his person wouldn’t have encouraged persisted worry. The detective required but a minute to recompose himself – ugh – he was dangerously close to the verge of everything shutting down while he was up to the brim of tasks – the most irksome form of timing – it may as well prove futile to push himself more than he can endure at this rate.
Just barely processing his now newly required companion’s question, one he ought to be asking himself, honestly: when was the last time he got some rest – ? At an pretty exhausted state, it was near impossible to perfectly recall, ❛ Uhm… ❜ fading back into momentarily silence – yup – for better or for worse, he hadn’t a clue, ❛ I’ll hazard a guess.. a few days ago, at best..? ❜
You don’t look awright to me...
Larry knows exhaustion when he sees it: as an artist, he’s worked several sleepless nights in trying to get his storyboard art finished before the publishers yelled at him. Of course, most of those sleepless nights were from procrastinating, but who needs to know that? In any case, this stranger looks like he needs to catch some serious z’s. From seeing Holmes nearly keeling over in the middle of Gourd Lake Park to the development of his not having slept in quite some time, Larry is very, very concerned.
A few days?! Dude, that’s no good! How the hell’re you even standing up? No wonder you almost fell. C’mon, lemme help you sit for a second.

To anybody with eyes, it was clear that Ema was on a warpath. As she stomped through the office, she overheard someone wondering, ‘How did Skye make her hair do that supermodel thing with the wind?’ For whatever reason, hearing this did not exactly do much to help her mood.
“I know it was you, detective,” Ema said dramatically, chucking a snackoo in his direction, and waving around some email print-outs full of office gossip and confusion regarding the shifted deskspace. She was sure that Holmes would dodge the bit of food, but her intention was to warn, not harm. This was a show of dominance in the workplace to ensure that her space would not be tampered with again. Since she was nowhere near tall enough to be able to wield that as a weapon, she had to resort to other means to seem at all menacing.
“I know it was you who moved my cubicle near the waste bin, and I’m not going to take this standing up. I guess I’ll just have to take it sitting down.” She was trying to be serious, but also truthful, so into his chair she want. There. Now she had established her territory. The next part of her mission was to maintain it. “Since your workspace hasn’t moved at all, I’m going to have to seize control of it for the moment.”

time to babysit this idiot.
Continued from here:
Mm. With little need to ponder for it served no use to refute the fact his false sense of reassurance was far from accurate. His argument got him there; he wasn’t okay as he formerly both thought and stated by the time he was “urged” to lose consciousness prior, with the supposed improvement of his situation, the detective was fairing well now ( that being said if he didn’t exhibit a second round of fainting ). Ugh – he still felt a little light-headed despite the amount of time taking to recovery and compose himself, lacing the mix was petite hints of exertion. On that note, how long had he been out? Such answers were to be asked later in time.
❛ From where it stands, I was merely encouraging the notion there is no serious unlying issue, as I understand, it can be the root of numerous causes, am I not wrong? I’m willing to place bets it was no more than an concerning amount of exhaustion. Now that’s it out of my system, I’m good to go now. ❜ Chiming, Sherlock surely sound pleased with himself. Of course he is. Unbeknownst to him, or was it an act of intentional ignorance – chances are he will end up passing out once again in the next 5 minutes. Sometimes his deductions weren’t enough for someone to trust, even when it comes to something as complicated as assuming the diagnosis of a person.
„You already stated that you were alright once and in the end I had to pick you up from the floor to lay you down on the couch, otherwise someone would have stumbled over your passed-out body.” Klavier crossed the arms in front of his chest, glaring at the detective in front of him. His lips were pressed together tightly and a soft growl left his lips when he continued talking: “I admit that I am not the strongest guy around here, so if you would please just lie down and rest a little longer so that you won’t faint the next second you get up again, I would be very grateful, ja?”
He didn’t imagine for the other man to be such a careless person. He had heard about him, had heard stories and whispers and he always had thought that Holmes was a great detective, a smart man who knew more about the world than it would be appropriate for his age. A man of wisdom, someone who knew how to handle any situation.
He had been proven wrong.
#deductionking#of course I wanna continue!#I was so looking forward to finally having a starter-sentence I can use!#Your Sherlock is so amazing

@deductionking - Continued from ask.
Under normal circumstances, Holmes wasn't the kind of person Barok would willingly associate himself with. Sure, the man waa brilliant and got the job done better than most detectives the prosecutor knew, but he was also rather fickle, immature and prone to get lost in his own world of strange machineries Barok had little interest or understanding for, all traits which tested Barok's patience to its limits.
Unfortunately for Barok, 'normal circumstances' didn't include: one, Holmes being his new assigned detective after Gregson's death; two, Holmes helping to prove Barok's innocence and expose the man who had been, at least partially, responsible for the demise of his beloved brother years ago as the criminal he was; and three, the fact that Holmes had pretty much raised Barok's niece and was still her current caretaker...
...though, given Holmes' attitude, Barok often wondered how much Iris had to raise herself and her be Holmes' caretaker herself. Still, the little girl clearly respected and adored her adoptive father. Barok had first found himself spending more time at the Holmes-Watson household on Iris' insistence. The prosecutor never considered himself the type to bond with children, but Iris was a brilliant, precocious little girl whi had easily wormed her way into Barok's cold black heart. She reminded him so much of his late brother it made Barok's heart ache at times.
Back on the situation at hand, after almost half an hour spent trying to get the detective's attention (a personal record in his opinion, usually it'd take ten to fifteen minutes to lose it), Barok had simply resorted to hitting the desk he had been hunched over for a good part of the day, hard enough the wooden forniture nearly toppled over, bringing down whatever experiment the detective was working on.
"Get your head out of your own little world, Holmes" Barok hissed, his eyebrow twitching in annoyance at the nickname Holmes had bestowed upon him and wouldn't stop using no matter what Barok said or did "This place has been empty for hours, you were supposed to be back home hours ago. Iris thought something had happened to you!"
Barok had learned rather quickly that being associated with Sherlock Holmes in any way meant having to serve as the detective's pseudo-nanny. Barok had not signed up for it, but if it meant taking some worries off of his beloved niece's shoulders, Barok would do it. Anything could be said about the dreaded Grim Reaper, but not that he didn't care about his family.

"Mh? Is that...?"
Before enrolling into Themis Legal Academy, Marshall had never even set foot into the prosecutor's office. As the son and brother of three well-known defense attorneys, he wasn't exactly someone prosecutors liked to have around, and normally he'd keep far away from that place. Whenever Blackquill was around and available for some tips or help with homework or essay, though, Marshall had taken the habit to wonder into the office. Hardly anyone had the gut to tell off Simon Effin' Blackquill, so Marshall had a relatively easy time there whenever the older man was around.
That day Blackquill was late though (a problem with the daughter of his mentor, apparently), so Marshall had discretly tucked himself away in a dark corner of the office to wait for his 'mentor'. He was planning to keep quiet and sit still until Blackquill showed up and his presence was safe to be revealed, when his eyes noticed a strange figure wandering into the office. The figure seemed out of place in there, not only for the clothing, which seemed to have come out from an Arthur Conan Doyle novel, but because most people seemed to ignore its oresence, as if... they couldn't see it at all. Was that... a wandering spirit?
"Excuse me, sir...?" Marshall addressed the figure, as quietly as he could as not to tip off anyone else of his presence, hoping the ghost could hear him.

(🐈)“Oh I know how to do that!” The feline typed into the chat. “Okay, what you do is-”
Iza has kicked Sherlock Holmes from the group chat.
Iza has added Sherlock Holmes!
“Did that help at all?” Iza typed the question before he started to laugh. The poor man that was a mean joke. Kick him out and bring him back in? Maybe he should kick him again.

Naoto offered a slight smile to Sherlock. She'd received a lot of odd looks and been the talk of the town due to her origins, even after her breakthrough, so it was a relief to see someone thought it as a positive thing and nothing special. Also, the idea of her finding a fellow British was exhilarating. "It may seem surprising to you - and most people if we're honest. My mother was British and father Japanese. Perhaps that is where I gained my ever-neutral viewpoint towards crimes and me not being superstitious unless mentioned otherwise."
She hadn't looked onto her Mom's birthplace properly yet due to her busy life of balancing work and free time but it was something she was determined to do before she was 30 years old. She asked if he had received any odd glances or comments due to his nationality.
