I got a little inspiration from @lilsimsie to create a sort of 70s inspired home with the party essentials kit and I am actually pretty happy with how it turned out!

look here's my vision. in qotd, armand turns 32 year old daniel as a last resort when his alcoholism reaches the point where he's actively dying and will only live a few more days. lots of theories involve show daniel getting hurt badly in some way or his condition/health worsening rapidly, so turning him is the only way to save him. that could be what happened, but in my opinion (operating under the assumption they have history that extends past those six days in 1973) it doesn't need to go that route exactly to work out a similar way.

"You'll never die, and yet you look at me and you watch me die, night after night, you watch it." Ugly fights, terrible fights, finally, Armand broken down, glassy-eyed with silent rage, then crying softly but uncontrollably as if some lost emotion had been rediscovered which threatened to tear him apart. "I will not do it, I cannot do it. Ask me to kill you, it would be easier than that. You don't know what you ask for, don't you see? It is always a damnable error! Don't you realize that any one of us would give it up for one human lifetime?" "Give up immortality, just to live one life? I don't believe you. This is the first time you have told me an out-and-out lie." "How dare you!" "Don't hit me. You might kill me. You're very strong." "I'd give it up. If I weren't a coward when it gets right down to it, if I weren't after five hundred greedy years in this whirlwind still terrified to the marrow of my bones of death."

armand has multiple complicated reasons for not wanting a fledgling, but in the book one of them is because he doesn't want to take daniel's life from him when he has so much of it left to live as a human.

"Be alive, Daniel." A low whisper, like a kiss. "Let me tell you from my heart that life is better than death."

show daniel is 70 years old. he has parkinson's but he's still alive, not dying, and his life's not over; there's still things he can do and accomplish. regardless, any argument of "keep on living the rest of your life" doesn't hold as much weight as it does being told to a young man who desperately wants to stop aging and live eternally.

Short little velvet laugh. "There you go again. So irrepressibly human. You overestimate me or underestimate me. Seldom do you ever hit the mark." "I work with limited equipment. The cells in my body are subject to deterioration, to a process called aging and—"

in my opinion, there doesn't have to be a great sudden catalyst, some injury or health decline that forces armand's hand.

"You don't think it terrifies me?" Daniel had asked, staring at the white-faced figure beside him. "How many years do I have? Can you tell just by looking at me? Tell me."

it might be a simple case of looking at him now and thinking how many years does he have left?

"But I don't want it to end now. I don't want to continue unless you—" His face changed slightly. Faint look of surprise. "I don't want you to die."

regardless of the state of his health, he's a 70 year old human. the conclusion armand comes to might be not enough.

"I told you. It's just a dream. But if you want a name, let me call it the gateway of life and death. I'll bring you with me through this gateway. And why? Because I am a coward. And I love you too much to let you go."

HI everyone

as y'all probably know, the monkees episodes on archive.org got taken down unfortunately. thankfully though, i downloaded all the files from there that i could a while ago and i have a google drive with those exact files!

everyone can feel free to use it, it is here. i'm not sure how stuff like this works with copyright so don't spread it around unnecessarily just in case (though i can always remake it because i have the files on my laptop still), but if you need it then feel free to use it!!

it also has elephant parts for anyone that wants that :)

if anyone else finds any other monkees content (television parts as a file, etc etc) that i can put on there feel free to send it to me to add it :) im not sure how much storage i have on there but i can always figure out a solution!

Comics timelines are so funny because whenever I feel like college is taking forever I have to remember Dick Grayson went to university in 1969 and dropped out in 1980 and after all that they claimed he’d only been there for one semester. Well no wonder he dropped out, I would also drop out if one college semester took me a decade.

Imagine a world where Bruce got really into the occult when his parents died.

He did all the things. He bought a Ouija board. He went to psychics. He held seances.

He never did talk to his parents.

But, sometimes he wasn't as careful as he should have been. Once, just once, when a Ouija session once again failed to reach his parents, he left the planchet on the board and never said goodbye.

How long would it take for something to come through? How long would it take for Bruce and Alfred to notice? The manor is so very big and it has so many lovely dark places to hide.

If things get moved around, who would really notice? Especially once Bruce adopts the Robins. So many children causing so much chaos at all hours of the day and night.

No, I expect that no one would notice until Duke moves in. But even then, who knows how long it would take him to notice one big humanoid shape hidden away in some long forgotten attic room.

Alright, in honor of @oldbutchdaniel 's Fan Fiction Fridays, I had an idea for how the 70s chase era of devil's minion might go, but I'm not great at full fledged writing so! Plot beat bullet points:

Daniel wakes up in a drug den, dried blood down to his ankles, massive neck wound, and the knowledge that vampires are real. He then realizes that, shit, he doesn't have the interview tapes/any solid evidence that would prove it.

Goes back home, patches himself up, and within a week decides to backtrack to Divisadero street and try to remember which apartment they were in. Maybe Louis left something, anything that could be concrete evidence that vampires exist and he was attacked by one. Or better yet, he might find a single cassette of the hours of recorded tapes.

So, Daniel heads towards Divisadero, and, with the slightest bit of self preservation, decides to go during the day. Vampires can't go out in the sun, so. Should be safer, right? 👍

Cut over to Armand, in the main room of the apartment, cleaning up, patching the wall, trying to fix the northward slant of the floor, when he looks up and Daniel's standing in the doorway. (Maybe the door wasn't locked, maybe Daniel picked it, maybe he went to pick it and found it was unlocked.)

They stare at each other for a beat. Armand thinking that there's no way this boy is That stupid. Daniel thinking oh shit, I just broke into this guy's house. This kind of? familiar? looking guy? Which could either be deja vu or I'm still mildly concussed.

They talk back and forth for a minute, until it eventually devolves into Daniel getting told to leave, refusing, and then Armand asking hey, how fast can you run? I'm going to hunt you down, so. Go, now. Start running.

Daniel books it, out the door, down the stairs, door opens, door closes. Starts down the street, only to slow, stop, think it over, and starts going in a different direction, patting down his pockets to see if he has any money for either a payphone or a taxi or maybe a plane ticket if he can manage to get to the nearest airport.

And! The chase begins.
