How did the other people in Deathwalk end up in the weird afterlife thing? Are they all connected to the cult or just Maya?
fuck it is give up trying to draw art for this (the art i'm putting here is old) i'm just gonna jump in and yap
There's five main characters including Maya and no only Maya is connected to the cult!
Starting with my favorite even though all of them are my favorite, there's Daichi Higake, the one i have the most art of
He's probably the most mentally stable in the group but is very standoffish and kind of a sarcastic dick sometimes, which is probably due in part because of his dead mom and dead little sister and shitty dad. He died after walking home late one night and becoming a robbery victim.
Neko Satsujin is a fucking murderer. I'm not being hyperbolic she has killed multiple people but she gets a pass because she's silly and fun
Her backstory is one big fucking spoiler but just so you know she was killed by someone she was trying to kill. She's very very silly but surprisingly intelligent, solving a lot of the puzzles in Afterlife+ with ease. makes you wonder what led her to a life of violence....... hmmmmmm
anyways, woe, jared incendis be upon ye
my thirteen yearold self was very subtle back in the day with his last cause uhhh yeah he's an arsonist he likes fire. He's fairly flirty and tends to joke around a lot despite the dire circumstances, and, sometimes, seems to know more than he lets on. he died in some unknown fire related accident he refuses to elaborate on but he did wake up clutching a burnt scrap of paper so hmmmmm
last person is Maku Sajidō the actual main character
they're your average barista just trying to make a living and live a normal life. They don't remember how they died, but that probably just means they died in their sleep or something nothing to worry about lmao
and then you know maya lol
i will eventually reveal more but right now this is all I'm giving just know that i love all of these people equally because they all come roleplays i did with friends on discord once upon a time.
those roleplays happened to be yttd or danganronpa inspired, which is why half of them have japanese names
#nezumi rambling#ask#deathwalk#oc#my art#old art though#holding all of these people carefully#knowing damn well i'm about to dump them into a hell of my making

These are kinda old and I'm VERY sure I haven't posted them here yet dkjfhfkl.
Since its the spooky season I thought it would be appropriate to post some of my drawings of my undead Charr Achlys Deathwalker!
This is mostly just a symmetrical bust, and a small page of sketches when I was working out how I wanted to draw his face.
#I'm gonna post actual screens of him later as well#his design is very self indulgent tbh dkjfhfkjlh#Achlys Deathwalker#gw2#gw2 art#my art#guild wars 2#gw2 charr#bones#skeleton#body horror#just in case#undead

Oh SHIT you know what I just realized? The Deathwalker’s Ward literally looks like a raven. Here, let me show you.
I thought the clasps were a bit odd when I first saw them, but look.
These are the normal clasps on the armour:
And this is the Deathwalker’s ward when lit up with divine energy.
And it looks JUST LIKE a raven head, pupils and all!
The little design details in this show are just too fucking cool, I’m literally in love.

I canNOT stop thinking about the three big alien civilizations on the Babylon 5 council (Narn, Centauri, Minari--the Vorlons abstained) voting not to hold a trial for the war criminal known as DEATHWALKER because all of their civilizations were complicit in working with her at some point. (Also, they'd heard she'd developed an immortality serum and at least some of them wanted it for themselves.)
Meanwhile the League of Non-Aligned Worlds (all the other alien civilizations that don't have the firepower to get an individual seat) wanted to convict her because they'd all been targeted by her weapons and experiments and some point.
It really makes the world feel lived in!! (Welcome to America Mr. von Braun, we'd love your help with our rockets....)
#Babylon 5#Season 1 Episode 9#Deathwalker#love the Vorlons showing up at the last minute#and blowing Deathwalker out of the sky#because everyone else isn't ready for immortality

i really, really appreciate that TLOVM is keeping the nuance of the gods in this adaptation of the source material, especially the Raven Queen
why the raven queen? well, it's like she said to vax - some people fear death, even our intrepid adventurers, and while it may be the end of a life, it's also a beautiful thing. it gives our lives meaning and purpose, and everyone experiences it the same, even if not at the same time
and it would be so easy to simplify what matt has done with the matron's characterization up until this point. it's always easy to feel animosity towards death when it's chasing our heroes, because well, we don't want to see them die (see pib: the last wish). we don't want the characters we've seen rooting for kick the bucket, even though, at some point, they most likely will - peacefully or painfully, who's to say?
death is an easy enemy, is what i'm getting at. it's an easy target, and i'm just so grateful that they didn't take the easy way out
#critical role#the legend of vox machina#tlovm#tlovm s2#tlovm spoilers#i just really appreciate her portrayal#grim and dark for sure#but also bright and beautiful#even with deathwalker's ward#how the magic that powers it is golden and not like death magic or something#visually at least#because she is the god of death and fate#but she is not Evil#oh i cannot WAIT to see how they depict the rest of the pantheon in this universe

some thoughts about Deathwalker:
my favorite thing about babylon 5 has always been the conversations between the ambassadors and their aides. the show is not always a story from the perspective of the human characters - sometimes you get a window into how the aliens interact with each other when humans aren't around. I really liked the scene between Na'Toth and G'Kar about why she attacked Jha'dur. if it had been her explaining herself to a human like Sinclair or Garibaldi, the cultural practice underlying her desire for revenge would have been portrayed as "alien" and less legitimate. but instead she tells it to G'Kar, who understands her completely and tells her that her behavior was right (he says that she wouldn't be narn if she felt differently, and that he's proud of her!) and therefore we the audience are reassured that her motivations are not to be dismissed. it was refreshing to see G'Kar take her side and only tell her to wait because it was necessary for political maneuvering
the plotline with Talia was kind of upsetting - I don't think I appreciated when I watched the show for the first time in college how violating that experience would be, and Sinclair and Garibaldi were so nonchalant about it at the end. Talia was like "Kosh hired me under dubious circumstances, exposed me to terrifying stimuli, and recorded my thoughts without consent presumably with the intention of using them later to hurt me" and Sinclair and Garibaldi were like "lol yeah he's a wild one". I guess there's nothing they can do about it but still yikes
why was Garibaldi allowed to go through Jha'dur's stuff when she was unconscious, seems ethically questionable
my opinion of G'Kar is so heavily influenced by how he is in the later seasons, I forgot how slimy he is in season 1. I think he experiences the most character growth of any of the cast.
Lennier is the guy we all know who's way too into military history

Nez. I need you to know I am obsessed with Squissistant and Dev (even tho I’m a little behind on Dev’s stuff rn, ooops). I still have that holdable paper doll of Squissistant
Literally your ocs are so cool!!!!! I need to figure out the lore agagsgdhddhbsnd it’s so interesting what you come up with <3
Anyways, what are some other ocs you have for non-squip-rp stuff?
AAAAAAAAAA LOVE AND SUPPORT!!!!!!! *explodes*
but seriously thank you i've been kind of out of it for doing things but i'm planning on continuing the story soon!!! 🫂
As for your question OHOHOHOHOHOHOHO YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PANDORA'S BOX YOU JUST OPENED HAPPI
I have way too many ocs and stories related to those ocs but i'll bring up the highlights
Blaire Caddel (HELIANUS) is a terrifying anthro gazelle-spider thing that eats people and is a musical theater nut and i love her. She's the main antagonist of the story I have her in and she rolls around in my head always. I NEED to draw her and I NEED to actually talk more about her world
Oliver Graham (CHAOS CAFÉ) is a normal teenager who gets sent to a void full of monsters and a cafe and slowly starts spiraling after managing to get out. Here's some art of them now but it's very very old like 2021 old i think
Michael Flud (SEPTEMBER 23RD) is one of my oldest characters and one of the ones that has gone through the most changes. He literally came to me in a dream. Originally his story was about alien technology and dumb teenagers getting taken over by it but then it changed into something I can only call "a multiverse fantasy about the death of the artist". This universe is also where my persona lives
Maya Smith (DEATHWALK) is a person I'VE WANTED TO TALK ABOUT FOR YEARS BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS ABOUT HER AND HER WORLD. She's a girl who got kidnapped as a baby by a cult called "The Church of God's Tears" and is raised believing in its practices. She's friends with two other people in the church, Helen nolastname and Claudia Lalima. Maya and Helen eventually find eachother very close and secretly have a lesbian love story under the very homophobic cult's nose. This is eventually found out (also Maya saw something she shouldn't have seen) and she's killed in cold blood by Father Liam in secret.
She later wakes up in a void with four other people; Daichi Higake, Neko Satsujin, Maku Sajidō, and Jared Incendis, all of whom I could ramble about for hours on as well. This is where the story actually begins and the group has to find a way through multiple rooms and dimensions until they find a way out of this strange place (they don't know they're dead). All the while, a plot from a third party source unravels around them, and the gamemaster of their misfortune, Adaline, continues to torment them throughout.
here's a picture of maya please ask me more about Deathwalk i'm begging
Conepaw (WINGBEAT OF A KESTREL) is an apprentice of Kestrelclan and I need to start that comic istg!! She's the adopted daughter of the deputy and wants to grow up to be just like her. But because of a certain horrors™️ she finds she's never going to grow up, even though she lives and breathes. This is all based on a clangen play through and Library of Ruina, specifically Love Town
and that's all i can think of rn!!!!!! please please please feel free to ask about any of the stories here (except for september 23rd i'm keeping that one a secret) cause I love to yap!!! i want to yap so badly!!!
#nezumi rambling#helianus#chaos café#september 23rd#deathwalk#wingbeat of a kestrel#my ocs#ALSO AGAIN GRAHHH THANK YOU FOR LIKING DEV AND SQUISS#IT MEANS SO MUCH TO ME

Babylon 5 Rewatch, S1 E9: Deathwalker
Running a little late due to family committments, again.
"Do you think it will always be like this? Smaller powers at the mercy of greater powers, politics before morality, expediency before justice?"
I get older, and this sentiment gets truer. It's so bloody depressing.
Some other thoughts.
We see an interesting side of G'Kar when he's talking to Na'Toth here. Not exactly moral, but there's a definite kind of honor here.
I forgot how happy Londo seems to be at the end, when the Vorlons off Jha'Dur. For all that he was willing to vote against the trial, I think this shows what he really wanted.
Speaking of which, I always found that scene at the end where everyone is watching the monitor to be funny. There's no real in-Universe reason for them all to be there, it's just so we can easily see everyone's reactions; which tells us that something's going to happen.
Ah, a 23rd century reference to VCRs. I remember using VCRs to record B5 back before the DVDs were released.
