Alright no I don't particularly want to be pretty and well-behaved and cold and inert I am modeling clay you know not a nice marble There's a nuclear fission going in my heart and it's spilling out because I'm not a well-behaved girl Yknow I don't care about being pretty so long as I'm desired blablabla

David Lang - Death Speaks: No. 1, You Will Return
Pocas composiciones logran estremecerme tan profundamente como esta "You Will Return", el primer movimiento del ciclo Death Speaks de David Lang;
you will return to dust you will turn return to dustturn to the sun like me, turn to the sun turn to the light turn to the lightif there's an eye still open grieving sweet sleep close it for meturn your heart, your poor heart it will only find rest when it has stopped beatingturn to peace turn to peace this is the only road that leads you homeenterI am your pale companion I mirror your pain I was your shadow all those long nights, all those days long pastlisten to me this message is for you where I am now, all sorrow is gone where I am now, all lovers are together where I am now in my arms only will you find rest gentle rest

There is something incredibly comforting about staying at your childhood home and using the same pots, pans, and baking sheets younger you did.

A headcanon nobody asked for:
Copia crochets. My basis?
•He’s seen all the silly outfits people have made for their Plushias and decided to try it too. He definitely has an army of them in different little outfits.
•It helps his awful anxiety to just do something simple with his hands.
•All of his rats have hand crocheted blankets according to the color he’s assigned them. (Like if the four rats in this enclosure are color coded orange, red, yellow and like purple, there’s a nice sunset ombré blanket in there for them.)
•I do this and he is me so it makes sense thank you

everybody’s always on writing prompts like “what if there was a world where everyone had a timer ticking down to their death… but you met someone whose timer said infinity!” or “what if everyone had their cause of death tattooed across their forehead… but you met someone whose forehead said THE CREATURE!” Enough -
enough. stop with the shock value. there is no need to insert THE CREATURE; the benign concept of such a world is horrifying enough. not even in urgency, but just in banal, everyday interaction. imagine you meet someone and their timer says two years. not tomorrow, not urgently soon, but two years. enough to do quite a lot. they could fall in love in that time - could they get engaged? have a baby? you might otherwise get to know them, befriend them, but perhaps you opt not to, make a conscious choice not to invest in your own grief. what balancing act would every individual person have to participate in - I have ten years, is that long enough to be a good mother to children? is that long enough to secure a caretaker for my own mother? my wife will die a few months before me. my newborn’s timer reads nineteen years.
and cause of death. you interview for a job and emblazoned across the healthy, smiling face of the HR lady is MALNUTRITION. your country is prospering, safe, but every person you meet on the street from the babies to the old women read BOMB. BOMB. what kind of havoc would fate wreak on the world? what about the loss of privacy? how would that shape our notions of hope? idk man I think a lot of those ancient poems were right, and the fates are monsters. I’m interested by the framing of these ideas as trite horror tales when the premises themselves are so much more disturbing if simply taken to their logical ends

Ship trope I'd love to see more of: "Are we in love? I mean, yeah, probably, but that's a problem for future us. Right now we're just trying to make it through the Plot."
