so since i picked up that 20k mystery project like a month and a half ago (jesus time goes by so fast now???) i guess i've added something like 15k and figured out chapter headings and subheadings and there's like structure and shit

think it'll be 10 parts total - 8 chapters plus prelude and postlude (i did not know that was a word btw)

pre-humongously-long writing hiatus i'd written prelude plus two chapters and the start of chapter 3. now i'm 1500 words into chapter 5, in the middle of an owwwwy scene

because i need to put jace in a saw trap.

i want to do a horror fic SO bad but i don't know where to start because i have so many ideas AND i feel like i've already done The Big Ghost Story for me though because epilogue has so much happen in it.

but i know on innskeep i mentioned in one of my tags that old deancas fic i read years and years ago where dean's been dead the whole time and like. something like that could be fun. where there's Mounting Dread and a feeling of wrongness. like. a whole fic that's like chapter 6? i'd get so much enrichment from that i think

OR... i don't. tend to write AUs personally because when i write AUs i end up with 100k fics. like. i wish i was joking. way back when i wrote a scifi (firefly specifically, i'm sorry this is my one whedon sin and i know it's bad) AU for merlin that ended up 120k at the end of everything.

i can't do it again. i'm not strong enough.

but. my heart belongs to scifi deep down so an sb scifi AU? i'm not sure HOW i'd swing it but doing something that's scifi/western would give me an excuse to have porter and jace still be terrible while throwing in cowboy porter agenda.

oh god i read in so many fandoms this feels like an impossible question dhjfjfdg i'm gonna cheat. is that okay? can i cheat? there's no way you're getting just one. sorry not sorry djbkndkjgbd

i guess if i'm answering 100% honestly, it would prob. be not easily conquered which, for those who don't know is a stucky fic and one of the most beautiful pieces of writing i've ever read. some of the quotes from this fic are seared into my brain and i fear will never leave me.

in the 1d fandom tbh it's still tif. i think to me tif is a perfect romcom. i've never read a better one. it's funny, its heartwarming, it's genuine, the miscommunication is handled very well and that quote that describes trying to explain something traumatic that happened to you young as 'like a fish trying to explain what water is' stayed with me for over a decade. it's exactly that. that's exactly what it feels like... i love this fic sm. it's just as good as everyone says and i think its criminal that some newer fandom peeps haven't read it. i can only aspire to be that kind of writer.

i recently went on a spuffy binge read ad discovered summerfrost's works and i have been in absolute awe of their characterization ever since. their writing knocked me the fuck out. nothing safe is worth the drive (follow you home) is prob. my fav but everything i've read from them has been a masterclass in character study.

the poet dean fic is another work that i think is a game changer. if you're remotely interested in deancas/spn this fic is stunning and it features original poetry by the writer that is just.... gorgeous. it makes me want to write poetry and god knows i am not good at that rip.

cinderwings is another spn fic that's ..... incredible. it's such a creative au that perfectly mixes elements from canon and from fairy tales to create something totally new that feels fresh and different. not to mention i've never read a character pov of a quote unquote creature that actually felt like i wasnt reading a human character. it's done so well.

four letter word for intercourse . its the best smut heavy fic i've ever it. its deancas. end of.

i recently started reading good omens fics and Demonology and the Tri-Phasic Model of Trauma: An Integrative Approach ??? w o w. just.... w ow. if you've read the book/watched the show and loved crowley just a little bit... read this. it's an outsider pov and it is so compelling, it's almost impossible to put down. which is a pretty herculean feat imo considering it's all through the eyes of a stranger. its basically crowley in therapy through the eyes of his therapist. incredible.

back in the old days i read a lot of merlin fics and the student prince still has SUCH a special place in my heart as a comfort fav... it's so funny and heartwarming. the perfect magical uni au. it also has an amazing podfic read by the author.

wastelands is probably my favourite star wars fic i've ever read. it's only 9k and ft just before the sequel trilogy leia crash landing on some abandoned world and getting help from a force ghost to repair her ship only to realise it's anakin. it's just.... a beautiful beautiful character study and a look into their relationship and it ties in with some kylo stuff.

you could dress this wound is a tsn fic where mark starts seeing pain as light on people and develops some empathy/starts seeing the world (and his relationship to eduardo) differently as a result.

best practices in workplace relationships is nothing special. except its heartfelt and funny and i've read it countless times over the past ten years. so many times. it's the assistant wardo fic. it's fun. i love her.

also anything that @helloamhere writes but ESP the anakin/padme/obi fic she wrote partly because of me.

i think thats it... like... off the top of my head today right now.

oh and i guess.... if it's not arrogant to say it ? maybe tts ? just... i'm very very proud of it and it's very special to me. i dont think its better than any fic ive listed here but it is one of my all time favs because it was a big labour of love from me.

Trusted you more than I have anyone else in my life!"  His vision blurred with tears and Arthur hurried to rub his eyes to get rid of them.  "It is only those years that are holding me back from killing you right this instant. I'm risking everything, everything my father built, everything my kingdom stands on, all the laws, all the people, just for you."  He swiped at his eyes again.  "So take it. Take the chance and go. Leave. Stay in Ealdor, I won't send anyone after you. Don't come back."  Merlin was shaking now, his eyes shining before they released more tears.  "I can't," he said again. His voice was quiet, but fearful determination was infused in every word. "I can't leave you."

A Destiel/Merthur crossover AU where Castiel, a young warlock in a land where magic is banned, accidentally saves the life of the charming (but arrogant) future king of Camelot. As a sign of his favor, King John grants Castiel a position as a knight and assigns him to the Royal Guard. Little does Dean and his father know that the same abilities that the warlock has used to save the young prince is the same thing that will get Castiel killed if he is ever found out.

Not me working on a bunch of secret projects currently. Ummmm so currently I have like two special projects for July for some mutuals. I also am working on a irondad remix as I am a pinch hitter for the event (my other one should be posting in June). I am also working on SM:HC rewrite soon. I'm very excited about working on that. So far me and my co-writer have talked notes and I will be writing sometimes in June. I got five fics planned for Thank You.. fics series... might redo what plans I have for one of the fics.

I'm very excited for the bingo cards. I got to write two of the fics for the parkner bingo card. I'm excited to receive more request. I got five others open currently so I'm going to talk about my favorite prompts from each cause I'm in a ranting mood. Sorry for the rant.

Irondad Bingo card: I'm excited to write a supernatural au cause I got so many ideas on this one and I can't wait to write one. Its why the prompt was added. I also am excited for the guardian angel au. I know it will be post endgame if that gives you any hints to what is coming with this one hehehe

JPH^2 Bingo Card: so one of my favorite parkner fics is 21st century burnout and so I wanted to do a street racer fic. I plan to have mechanic Harley and mechanic johnny involved. It will be interesting to have a street racer Peter fic.

Merthur Bingo Card: So I have been watching Merlin again and so one of the prompts was based on a what if. What if Merlin was raised in Camelot by Gaius when his mom realized he had magic. What would happen. The other prompt I'm excited for is my knight Merlin fic cause I just really want this fic so much and yeah.

Deancas Bingo card: I'm really excited for the parents prompt. I just can see them raising a kid together with Dean teaching them about hunting and Cas teaching them about bees.

Captain Swan Bingo card: I'm just excited to write a fic for this ship that isn't a drabble. Like all these prompts are good. I'm excited to write most of these!

Late night ramblings of a Marvey Fangirl.

I’m by no means an old fan. I’m also not a super young fan. (Well of things in general). I’m used to disappointment—to shipping characters with varying degrees of success.

I multiship. I loved Ron/Hermione with equal intensity as I did Arthur/Merlin. Though I don’t watch supernatural anymore (I’m picking it back up!), I will ship DeanCas until the end.

I guess what I’m saying is. I’m used to my pining heart being broken.

However something shifted when (the fire nation attacked) I saw Korra. They listened to fans and made korrasami canon. And that, for a queer poc fan—was really meaningful (but also slightly disappointing since I wish we saw their relationship in canon).

But for the first time I felt hope that a queer ship I liked might come true if chemistry called for it. (Heteronormativity amirite). Though rationally I knew most things wouldn’t change. I was introduced to the concept of hope. So there’s always a part of me that kinda resents showrunners for not considering the thing or just making fun of the thing.

It was actually refreshing to see Patrick and Gabriel—these actors never actually insult fans but respect them and interact with them. It’s nice to not see the “they’re just friends!” no-homoing that I’ve seen from other actors. In fact. They tweeted a picture of themselves holding hands, supporting gay rights. and that’s what made me start watching. Because even though I knew it wasn’t going to happen from a narrative sense, it was nice being acknowledged.

From a narrative sense, Mike’s storyline is very neatly wrapped up. From Patrick’s perspective, it makes sense that he’d pick now to move forward. And if we’re ever going to get a successful Harvey relationship, Mike can’t be there. Cause. Well. Harvey only has one successful relationship and it’s not Donna it’s Mike. So it also makes sense that the writers have to keep them apart for Darvey to happen.

However. Mike Ross and their dynamic is the show for me. Mike’s arc is what inspired me. What encouraged me to pursue law again. Because it wasn’t until I watched him that I had a realization of how much I missed my original path. And without it, I won’t have the time to really put the extra effort into watching. (First year of law school 🤗🤗🤗)

And theres the real reason I can’t continue watching. 1L. But. Also. That just means that any time I would have devoted to that, I will devote back to the Marvey fandom. I’m not going anywhere and I’m going to throw myself into fic. (That’s what AU is for after all). This fandom ain’t going anywhere.

So thank you Mike, for being the narrative vehicle for an emotionally constipated gal in New York to realize it’s not too late to start believing in herself.

i wish i could say that i have a schedule, but right now i really don’t :(

short answer: i’m kind of hanging on by a thread as far as writing goes, so i’m not sure when two sides of the same coin will be finished.

longer answer: work is pretty much nuts right now, and i’m studying for a big exam coming up in june (i know it’s kinda far out but i have 1500+ pages of study manual to get through plus another 200 pages or so of practice exams so i’m a bit terrified)

that said, two sides of the same coin is p much at the top of my priority list. it and my soa au are the two biggies that i actually have pinned on my taskbar. the rest of them come and go as inspiration comes and goes, i guess.

omfg anon !!! first of all that is so fucking sweet of you to say???  i’ve been kind of careful not to ‘overwhelm’ people with the vast variety of my nerdy interests but i guess me blogging about just one thing on this specific blog does mean there is a lot of my fandom life that you just..... don’t know about.

like hell YEAH i love merlin. it’s one of my favourite shows!  i actually think, no matter how sad it was, merlin’s final episode is one of my favourite finales ever.  like.... tragedy done WELL yk? @ edgy tv writers who write sad endings just for the sake of it take note !!!!!!! you can write sad stories/tragic endings where the heroes’ goal is unfulfilled but the story still honours the main characters and their relationships while leaving your audience with a sense of hope and possibility for the future. while ALSO giving fandom a LOT of room to play post canon with what remains a relatively open ending despite tragedy. @ got @ spn you seeing this shit ???????? it can be done when men don’t let their egos get in t he way!!!!!  (sorry im mad about the spn finale still)

i do want to stress the spn thing IS new.... ish. (i was a fan ten years ago then dropped it (for obvs reasons mainly that the writing is racist, sexist and homophobic) but we live in a post nov. 5 world now and the spn fandom is having a blast atm. so how could i NOT join in ????  esp. when the deancas thematic implications are literally *chef’s kiss* also, dean winchester was and remains everything to me so it was easy to fall down that slippery slope... rip my sanity and taste, i love it here in the trash) 

but yeah, there’s a lot i’m lowkey holding back from blogging about because i have a personal blog anyways and its like... the people who read my fics don’t necessarily want to see 10 posts in a row about anakin skywalker yk ?? (yes, i’m huge star wars nerd too. the fact that the ‘sw au’ isn’t as popular as the ‘hp au’ in fic writing circles is one of the banes of my existence tbh). 

still, it’s nice to know that some of y’all are curious about the other fandoms i dip my toes in. and there are many, rip.
