A cold bottle touched his arm, and Dean surfaced from his reverie. He smiled a thanks, but shook his head as he took the bottle. “Ash, you ever heard of Hamilton watches?”

The mulleted man shrugged. “Nah, should I have? They like Rolex or something?”

Dean nodded and swallowed a draught of beer. It went down clean and cool. “That’s a twelve hundred dollar watch. Twelve, two zeroes, Ash. That’s not an appreciation gift.”

Ash’s eyes bugged out before he swiped up the box. “Holy shit, for real?” He opened the box. “Dude, it’s just looks like one of those cheap thirty dollar ones I can buy at Target.”

“Nah, I looked it up. It’s a real, fancy ass watch. No batteries. You set it the first time, and it rewinds the mechanism using the motion of your arms. This is a watch you like, pass down in the family.” Dean carefully took the box from his friend. “I didn’t realize until I got home. I can’t keep this, Ash.”

Canonically, Dean never said Cas’ name after the fake phone call in 15.19. Canonically, while Bobby said Cas “Helped” revamp Heaven into a Heaven that Dean “deserved,” Cas never showed up. Canonically, Dean left that heaven, which contained his family, to go “find family.”

There is a glitch that is Cas-shaped, and Dean knows it.

i think a lot about claire. i imagine she’s gone out to eat with cas and the guys. she almost called out dad when she spots cas in the diner. or she glance over at him too quickly and sees a glimpse of her dad. or she’ll notice the way cas pours the milk in his coffee in a spiral motion like her dad used to as he’s talking to her.

she probably gets stuck in the motion while everyone else continues catching up. a ghost of jimmy lives inside of cas and claire is the only one to mourn him.

I think you really start appreciating Supernatural once you follow the trail each writer has paved. For instance, I can't believe Jeremy Carver pulled these parallel scenes off. It's so beautiful because it shows how faith works on some people and how painful and deep the betrayal can feel.
