The third and final of my 2023 @deancasreversebang collaborations is here for me to share today! This one is for an art piece I’d been planning out and working on for ages, and I’ve been sitting on it eagerly for over three months now. I’m super-excited to finally be able to share it with everyone!

The idea of Cas becoming the new ruler/embodiment of the Empty is something I’ve been obsessed with for a long time. I have a lot of thoughts about it—and Death!Dean, too, one of my other favorite post-S15 possibilities. But I wanted to see what another writer would do with the concept (as I was struggling with my own story ideas) so I told myself, “Do the art, make it happen.” And here we are! Thank you so much to Ryuosen for claiming my art and for writing such a wonderful story to go with it!  Please go read it here. As usual for me this was done in watercolor, on heavy/cold press paper to get the texture I love so much.

My concept for Dean’s scythe was that I wanted something rough-hewn, reminiscent of both his purgatory blade and the First Blade. Both the scythe and his ring features a blue stone/energy the same color as grace (and Cas’s eyes here). The main piece was really difficult to photograph well with all that dark background and using some translucent/interference paint for the “empty tentacles”, and also because it is just so big (24″ x 18″). But I hope these pictures do it the best justice I can manage (they’re taken in two different lighting situations.)  If you’re coming to MomentoCon this summer in Pittsburgh, you’ll be able to see the original (and many of my others) in person, as I’ll have a dealer’s table there in the exhibition hall.

‘Sex Worker Dean Winchester’ and ‘Selectively Mute Dean Winchester’ live in my head rent-free. That was basically my whole prompt and @9x20 completely knocked it out of the park. She was a fantastic partner, and she wrote an amazing fic that I will read again and again and again. Please read Talk Pretty Fly and show her some love! 💙💚💙💚

I’ve always been a writer, and this was my first ever attempt at fan art and my first time doing any kind of art since high school. It’s pretty simple, just photo manips that are heavily filtered, but I had so much fun making it that I’ve been learning to do digital illustration from scratch ever since. But I’m really proud of how it turned out and even more proud of the fic that came from it, I hope you enjoy!

I have always wanted to draw some Fantasy AU!DeanCas! I had a dragon!Cas almost finished but decided at the last minute to switch to a bird-riding one :D wanted to draw Dean hiding in Cas' arms lol but turned out they were just riding happily together hhhh Dean is safe and happy as long as he is flying with Cas 💕

Sorry for the clumsy bird body I know nothing about bird anatomy😭 and I still do not have any designs for their outfit lol but I decide to just let them be hehe!

I want to say thank you to my author @thesilverqueenlady! The fic expands the plot and the dynamic of their relationship from the scene so sweetly. And it makes me love the birdy more - I sincerely didn't put too much thought into it when I drew the pic, just experimented with colors and shapes which I never used before, but the fic gives her a name and makes her come to life! I should not spoil more please go read it!

Also, I am so grateful to be in the same bang with so many talented artists - the way I was entranced by the art gallery and clicked every single piece and read through the prompts - it was 😭

Slowly, Sam says, “It’s as far as I can go.” “Yeah, that’s what I just said.”

I read this as part of the Dean/Cas Reversebang 2022 (with beautiful art by @missaceriee) and the concept of true-form Castiel as an alien meeting "grease-monkey" Dean in deep space is compelling as much as how love is expressed between species. I absolutely love this story! The show of cultural differences between Dean and Castiel that even the reader will miss the cues. Lol! The conversation about sex was hilarious especially since Dean doesn’t ask. 😂 Wait until you read the word “clasp”. Poor Dean. Look up the word: hemipene. This stems all the hilarity in the fic. Just wait. Just wait. It’s hilarious!! SPOILER: Castiel is a naga refugee that is half human and half beautiful snake, and Sam basically “adopted” him as a charity project that turns into Dean’s charity project that ends up making him very happy very quickly.

Rubber Duckie Boots by Hexentaenzerin (AO3)

This such an adorable meet-cute. I love it! I also love that Dean wears rubber duckie boots while videoing carpet cleaning videos for his business, which Castiel absolutely loves to watch. Just can’t get enough of seeing Dean in those boots. Castiel even buys a rug to try to get Dean to notice him. **squee** It’s great! The ending is so Dean and Castiel. ❤️❤️❤️

I absolutely love this fic because I actually sleep with a weighted blanket and when my kids are sick, they love their own. I even have one in the car. It’s light but enough to feel it. This is just so fluffy and romantic all thanks to our favorite redhead introducing weighted blankets which helps so much. It’s been shown to even help babies but blankets aren’t great for them. Anyway, they’re so cute and that scene where Dean opens his eyes all slow and gentle with “hey”, just broke me. My husband and I do that periodically and it just means more snuggles and sleep. lol. Poor Castiel thinking he couldn’t have Dean which I understand since Dean has said so much he is straight or implied it rather often. Ugh. This was done so well. I admit I wish there was more especially with Dean exploring this new aspect of himself and with Castiel. Curious to see what their bumps in the road are and how they handle it.

First, this is smut. Second. It is fucking hilarious! I rarely find crack in smut. You have to read this hilarity. Dean’s sassy mouth is just amazing in this while Castiel just ignores him. 🤣 If you want to laugh, read this!

I just love how it progresses and the ending is great though. It’s so sweet and fluffy. Their connection is so tangible the reader can feel it like the characters do. It also has Trans Dean Winchester, which I always love to read, especially by @bleuzombie who knows how to write them so authentically and truthfully.

It's hard to pick 5 it's like choosing between our babies lol but here we go:

Strawberry Moon - Probably the fic I'm most proud of writing. I managed to include some of my fav tropes (magic, reunion, angst, witch/familiar) and the world I managed to create gave me great joy to explore. I was in a moment of my life where I was truly inspired to write and this fic just flowed so well while I was working on it.

For Evermore - Probably my most personal fic. I poured a lot of who I am into this fic and it was so hard at times to keep myself sheltered from the emotions and angst the characters were going through. I had similar experiences to Castiel's in this story so I was very nervous when I first started posting it because it felt like exposing a very personal part of myself to the internet.

My Soul Whispers My Name - This fic was a wild ride. I had initially planned to write The Stars Will Remember for DCRB 2023 but that fic was getting too long for the time I had left so I knew I needed to come up with something else. And since I was running out of time, I ended up planning this fic and writing it in a weekend. I don't recommend that to anyone lol. It was so stressful and I was completely drained by the end of it. I was honestly convinced I had written something awful but it turns out this fic ended up being my most successful fic in terms of kudos. So I like to remember this experience whenever I'm unsure if anyone will like what I'm writing because you never know what the readers will enjoy so it's a reminder not to focus on that and instead write what I like and gives me joy.

Breathing Into You - Most of my readers found me through this fic and to this day I still have fond memories of writing it. I love the world I built for this fic and writing merman!Castiel was so much fun. The Little Mermaid was my fav movie when I was a kid and I knew very early on when I started writing that I would have to write a fic inspired by that and so this fic was born.

So Maybe You're My Fairytale - This is still a WIP but I know this will have a special place in my heart for years. For a long time, I wanted to write a Beauty and the Beast fusion, not just inspiration but an actual fusion of that world with SPN and Destiel. But there was always something keeping me from starting to work on it. And now I finally have the opportunity to do it and I'm loving exploring this magical/fairytale world.

It's kinda obvious what is going on in the bottom half hhh Just them making sweet 💕 under the starry night sky :D At first I just wanted to have some mhm piece for DCRB but then I don't know what details to add (anatomy details are beyond my skill set obviously) so I added a ribbon so Dean becomes a gift; then I don't know what the background should be so it became a little... surreal? I fully expected to change the background after claim as it was on a lake (😅) which is kinda unrealistic but my author magically expand it to a whole beautiful fic leading perfectly to the scene 🥺 90k+ I was so amazed! Omegaverse, Alpha!Cas/Omega!Dean, Magic AU, Mpreg, please go read it it is so soft and warm and beautiful!

Thank you so much for updating me whenever you had updates so I could have a front-row seat to see it come to life 🥺 It was such a magical and joyful journey! I love all my children so it was super hard to pick just one, but I think the fic I am going to share is my DCRB 2023 fic. The reason I chose this one in particular is because I struggled with it for a long time until finally it came together and ended up being one of my favorites I've ever written.
