“You're sorry?” Dean asked, eyebrows shooting to his hairline. “Cas, fuck, I'm the one who should be apologizing here. I can't… I know we were under a spell or whatever, but Christ… what I did to you? How can you even look at me?”

Cas shook his head. "I don't... Dean, that happened against your will. I... I should have... I don't know, warned you... and I failed to do that. And I failed to tell you that angels... are even less likely to fight off the effects of those demons. I don't know why I so stupidly thought I was the exception. I can still feel the effect on me."

Dean sat back against his chair, toying with the label on his beer. “Shit, Cas… sounds like we’re both apologizing for the same damn thing.”

Cas gave Dean a soft smile before he looked down at the table. "I hope this doesn't affect our friendship. That was what I was most worried about, especially after you had to see me in that state... reduced to all my basic needs..." He closed his eyes and shook his head.

“No, Cas. Shit, I was worried you'd never want to see me again, and I wouldn't have blamed you,” he said, leaning over to brace his hand over Cas's wrist.

@friendofcarlotta and @malicmalicwriter tagged me for the Six Sentence WIP game. At first, I thought I had to skip answering it since the only fics I'm currently working on are bang fics. However, I decided to cheat a little bit and share seven senteces from my Profound Bond Exchange gift for @onowey that I just posted on AO3.

Dean was human. He experienced everything in an intensity beyond Castiel’s comprehension. His celestial senses might be much more advanced than those of humans, but they lacked the emotions that could tear humans apart. And yet, Castiel wanted to feel. He wanted to know what it meant to love so deeply that it could shatter you. In the spur of the moment, he put his hand on Dean’s shoulder. Dean jerked and the car came to an abrupt halt.

It’s the end of the week and I’m back yet again with another fantastic fic from the Wild West Fest, a gift that keeps on giving. I was hooked, the moment I read, “Careful,” the other man warned him coldly. “You should show me some respect. I pulled you down from the gallows; I can put you back up.”

This fic begins with Dean hanging for his sins, only to be rescued by a mysterious “Angel”, who does more than just shoot down the rope that almost ends Dean’s life. Dean’s a mess, and as a big fan of caretaker Cas, I couldn’t ask for more when Cas scoops him up to take back to his hideout to nurse back to health. When Dean’s ready, Cas offers to help him save his brother from the same team of bandits that strung him up in the first place, led by Dick Roman. 

This fic is an adventure from the start, with a good touch of smut thrown in for flavor, all while embracing both their characters and even including the Impala in a fun way. Add to that some great art and you’re in for a treat.
