designed the cutest DCA babies for a friend. They're basically sentient baby dolls, soft and plushy and why would FazCo make these the idea of having a forever baby that can never grow or mature is quietly horrifying to me.

The lights at Eclipse’s dressing table were brighter than hers, just bright enough to sting her eyes a little. It is, however, worth it to watch her love prepare himself for their show tonight. She doesn’t get enough moments to watch him, often too busy doing her own prep work. Eclipse gets to sneak over and watch her much more often. The adoration she sees in his face every time makes her feel like a goddess, and she seizes the chance to return the favor.

Just as Eclipse’s done tying the last band of his frilly shirt, Ballora steps forward, wrapping her arms around his torso in a gentle hug. She rests her chin on his shoulder to meet his surprised eyes in the mirror. Her voice is warm and teasing as she squeezes him tighter for just a moment, as Eclipse’s hand comes down to rest on hers.

“And just what brilliant star stepped down from the heavens to join me on my stage tonight?”

Eclipse’s laugh flutters like a bird, and it finds a nest in Ballora’s heart.

“Oh my lady, you flatter me too much! But if I’m a star, I only come down to give you the spotlight you deserve.” Eclipse lifts the hand he holds to his mouth, kissing it tenderly. Once, long ago when their affections were new, this might have had her hiding her face in his shoulder out of fluster. Now, she rests comfortable with the foundation their love has given her.

“A spotlight, mayhaps, but you are so much more than that. There is no one I trust more, on that stage or off it.” Ballora’s head tilts, resting her cheek on his shoulder and avoiding Eclipse’s rays with the grace of much practice.

Ballora’s hearing was good enough, and her knowledge of the stage sound enough that she could dance while keeping her sensitive eyes closed to the blinding bright lights. But accidents still happen. Eclipse could see the stage, knew how to lead and direct in the sublest ways, and gave Ballora the security to dance without pain.

In the end, what else could Ballora do but adore him for it?
