There were a lot of terrible things that came along with the vigilante life. The constant, looming fear of an identity leak, the crushing weight of responsibility for the safety of a whole city’s population, always staring down the barrel of a gun.

But what Peter hated most was…the inconvenience of changing out of his suit.

Listen, he was a modest guy, okay? His idea of a fun time wasn’t stripping down to his boxers in some random alley and praying no one would stumble by before he managed to dress. Going home to change wasn’t an option— what was stopping anyone from tracking him back to his place? It hadn’t been so bad in New York. There, at least, he knew his city like the back of his hand. He’d become intimately familiar with the comings and goings of all the other native Queens folk. He knew Archer Avenue was a no-go most weekend nights since it sat between two popular bars. Liberty’s alley, though, was almost always a safe bet; the lamp by its entrance had gone out years ago and no one wanted to tempt fate by wandering somewhere so dark alone.

He didn’t have that kind of knowledge with Gotham yet. He was winging it. Trial by fire, he kept telling himself, but he could only take so much heat. 

This very unfortunate encounter burned like a son of a bitch.

“. . .Woah, dude—”

A nervous laugh grated past his lips forcefully as he stared at the stranger with wide eyes. Luckily, he’d already stashed his suit away in his book bag and he’d had enough time to yank his pants up as he heard their footsteps near, but…he was still very much shirtless and alone in the middle of an alleyway at 3 AM.

“You, uh, wow—! That was a close one. Mugger almost got away with my shirt ‘til you…scared ‘em off.”

Ugh, everyone always told him he was a shit liar. He hid his grimace behind his top as he hurried to pull it back on over his head.

“Umm, thanks for that! Really. You saved my bacon—” What the fuck was he saying? “Gotham's lucky to have you out on these streets!”

His fingers wrapped around the strap of his book bag as he started edging back further into the alley, kicking off the world’s slowest, most awkward escape.

i'll do a random list of characters from different fandoms i like. my top favvs in DC would be kf and batman but it's too obvious AND it would be unfair as well 🤷‍♀️

connor from detroit: become human. he's just a baby boy! i love him the moment i played his scenes and his music theme is phenomenal! bryan dechart really did a nailed his connor's character because i instantly liked him when he came on screen at the start of the game. he's very sweet and cute tbh it's hard to not love him 💖💖💖

reverse flash from DC. his insanity and severe level of pettiness is what made him an appealing yet disturbing villain because of the crazy lengths he'll go to devote himself to achieve any goal without the ties of morals. i really love his comics and animated depictions the most tbh. especially in justice league: the flashpoint paradox and his goofy self in lego dc super-villains. overall, i think he's pretty neat even though i love to hate him a daily basis and he'll always sound like c. thomas howell to me when i get the chance to read a new comic of his ^^

widowmaker from overwatch. what a gut wrenching lore for a character so cold-blooded. she's the only reason why i used to play overwatch before it became a toxic community. i love everything about her, especially when she's quick to fire a vicious comeback no matter what or who it is she's addressing to. actually now that i realise it? she has similar vibes to louise lmfao. but only if she willingly 'evil'. but anyway! widow will always be my number one favourite character in overwatch forever. nobody can take her place ♡

azula from avatar. she's too iconic to ignore and neglect on this list tbh. the girl was literally 14 in the show and a straight up menace everytime she appeared on screen. it honestly made me think she was actually going to capture/kill one of the members on aang's squad. she's that terrifying. but then again she's pretty funny as well. i'll give her credit for that. anyway, azula is my top tier villain that gets too much hate and suffers from mischaracterization in the comics. despite that issue; the blue fire is so cool to watch in her battles and everything about her downfall is super well written! she's a inspiration to me ♡

slenderman from slender: the arrival. my favourite childhood horror character of all time!! i had to add him here. it's one of my favourite og games i've ever played and slenderman is a legend to the horror genre itself. i definitely had nightmares about him because i thought he was real when i was younger lmfao. the game just made it more terrifying because he always wins no matter what the main characters do

let's be real here—i would never in my life make contact with a super criminal and tell her off so carelessly because she would beat my sorry ass instantly, but if she was in a electric chair then i would definitely tell her to take more anger management classes, be less rude to people trying to be nice to her and quit killing people just because you got hissy with them and knowing her? she won't really listen to me! she'll call me a peasant 😔✋🏼

RULE SIX  i am both selective and incredibly slow/sporadic at checking out blogs before following. please be patient with me! i am oc friendly, duplicate friendly, and rp twin friendly as well.

i haven't forgotten about our thread! you don't need to remind me. my muse comes and goes, and adhd brain takes over most of the time. sporadic replies apply. sometimes you'll get a reply within ten minutes, sometimes it'll be months. this is a hobby that i enjoy and never want anyone else to feel pressured to respond.

RULE SEVEN  if you have certain tags blacklisted i make sure that i use the format #cw ____ with no other special characters. there will be dark content mentioned or touched on occasion regarding: general vio_lence, unethical experimentation, mental illness, and parental ab_use (both mental and physical). I make sure that I always tag these when writing.

small little disclaimer: although i write dark content like the subjects listed above, as a domestic ab_use survivor myself with diagnosed mental illness, I treat these subjects with care and NEVER as 'whump factor'. Things like C-PTSD and ab_use is something serious and should be treated as such.

RULE EIGHT  basic ettiquette applies here. i cut my threads, i use reblog karma, and i start a new post for ask answers. i ask that my roleplaying partners do the same. i also reserve the right to unfollow/softblock at any times if i feel as if we are not a good match as roleplaying partners or if i find the content to not match with the content i am trying to write. i am also never offended if any other parties do the same to me.

RULE ELEVEN  ask memes are always the easiest for me to break the ice, but if our muses are supposed to have a pre-established relationship, I'll want to reach out and make sure that we both have an idea of what is 'canon' and how we want their relationship to proceed. basically: i assume nothing except what i learn on your character bio and rules. most of my stuff is pre-52 (and by most i mean all of it), but i've been catching up on infinite frontier stuff to keep things fresh, and current. this information doesn't have to effect our rp threads.
