        they’d just been finishing up settling their newly liberated cargo. the merchant craft hadn’t put up much of a fight, but he had heard arcelia muttering about repairs they would need and a couple parts that would need replacing. waelon was trying to keep a running tab of all the things they would need to get once they found a port, and rye was just one stop on that mission. ‘ how are the guns doing? any part need updating, ammo replacements? ‘

Oh, this is dangerous. Aramis is charming as all hell, and it’s no surprise that she’s fallen for him. Why couldn’t she have found him at a better time, before she’d become trapped in this engagement? If only she would’ve met him a few months sooner. Maybe then they’d be able to be together without sneaking around, only able to steal kisses in the dark of night or in secluded corners and hallways. That’s where they are now, hidden away in the garden on her father’s estate. Her back is pressed against the rock wall, her hands gently gripping Aramis’s jacket. He’s standing close, neck bent slightly to press his forehead to hers. How she wishes she could be this close to him always. His words bring a light blush to her cheeks and a soft smile to her lips. “I think you may just be the most handsome man I’ve ever laid eyes upon, Aramis.”

“i think everyone is afraid to die mal --” she sighs, but she understands what he means, where he’s coming from. their whole lives they’ve lived for other people, live for each other. yet, have they TRULY LIVED at all? “what’s stopping you then? from living a little? the war? ME?” she’s genuinely curious. whatever the reason that’s holding him back from the life he wants, if part of the reason is her, she doesn’t want to stand in the way of that. “well, whatever it is, you shouldn’t let that HINDER you from living the way you want, hmm?” she manages a smile. hoping it’ll give him whatever push he needs to do what he wants without worrying of the consequences.

          “the way you use the force... it feels different around you.” her history with force users is woefully short, yet she delivers the sentiment with assured conviction. it eddies like a song, and with such softness around his force signature. she cannot tear herself away from how it feels.

         asdfghjkl OK SO LISTEN we get so little of madge and gale actually interacting in the books, it leaves so much open for them. madge and gale were one of the first non-canon ships i actually shipped, but i also think that they’ve got so many interesting dynamics facets. frenemies! downright antagonistic but forced to work together for whatever reason! actually friends but feel like they can’t be because Society! we haven’t written them together so i have no idea how my madge would react to your gale (which is always a big thing for me asdfg) but! i could see any of the above tbh

eve barely suppressed her laugh, it coming out as a snort. her, save the world? doubtful. sure she had an ancient artifact on her wrist, but it didn’t mean she was some chosen one. mostly eve believed she was just some placeholder until the thing found someone better. “no i    i don’t know. guess i just have a complex or something.” 

she shrugged, sipping her drink. “let’s hope the world never needs me to save it.”
