This week’s Hall of Fame results!

SEPTEMBER 1ST
I started to work on another new art piece. This time, it was created digitally. I figured that if I can't complete any traditional artwork, I might as well focus on digital work instead.
I didn't have much reason to be sad. Today was the day I created a new poll for my website. This poll will help me decide the new character for MEOWCO. You can send your vote here!
SEPTEMBER 2ND
Saturday seemed a little uneventful. I finished that new artwork from yesterday. However, I won't be able to upload it to my website until tomorrow due to personal reasons.
When it came to Pokémon, Shelgon evolved today. It was a good thing I focused on his Speed before he evolved.
While in Sandgem Town, I decided to talk to Dawn to see if she had anything new to say to me. To my surprise, I unlocked the ability to fight her.
Tumblr media
If you want to see this match for yourself, you can watch it here. Seeing her use Magmortar reminded me that I should train my own at some point.
Tumblr media
You don't say?
I managed to find a Sneasel on Route 217 that held a Quick Claw. Naturally, I caught it.
Tumblr media
Since I didn't need the Sneasel, I took her to the Global Wonder Station to start a chain of Wonder Trades.
I didn't get any new Pokémon. But the events that happened in the GWS were still pretty interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't know who this Cog person is. But they must have teleportation powers if they can be in two places at once.
After my next Wonder Trade, I marked my 250th point.
Tumblr media
I thought I wouldn't see this screen again until I marked 300 points. The Rare Candies will be of great use in the future.
SEPTEMBER 3RD
I finally finished my new art piece. (The first real piece of artwork I've drawn since July.) I based it on an official crossover between the Pokémon franchise and Hatsune Miku. (Yes, that is something that ACTUALLY exists) You can view it on my website.
SEPTEMBER 4TH
I visited the Jubilife TV Station to win my daily lottery prize. I was expecting something like a Lucky Egg or some PP Up. Instead, I got the first prize:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's not a Master Ball. But it's still something handy. I knew visiting this place every day would pay off!
After another battle, I went back to Pokémon Violet to add more Pokémon to the Paldea Pokédex. One of the Pokémon I needed was a Primeape. And luckily, there was a shiny Primeape available for trade on Pokémon HOME's GTS. I got it in exchange for the Cresselia I caught last month.
Tumblr media
I knew I'd be able to trade her for something someday.
SEPTEMBER 5TH
I struggled to complete some assignments because of the air quality. It was just as bad as the middle of the summer. Despite that, I still managed to get things done.
I thought about taking on the Wi-Fi Room in the Heartgold Battle Tower again. This time, I'll use a Ditto with Quick Powder to deal with the hacked Pokémon in the 7th round. Even though it sounds like a solid strategy, my current internet connection doesn't support non-DSi enhanced games. I'll find a way to connect it someday.
In Pokémon Violet, I was going to fly somewhere until I came across a wild Sliggoo. It was a roaming Tera Pokémon that was at a low level. Fortunately, Braixen was enough to lower its health so I could catch it.
In all honestly, that might have been one of my difficult catches in this game.
Speaking of catch, these Poké Ball descriptions are a little confusing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is the Dive Ball more effective than the Lure Ball? Is it the other way around? Someone should have written these in a way that explained the Ball functions more clearly.
While trying to find Flabébé, I decided to talk to one of the nearby picnickers. To my surprise, she gave me some new sandwich ingredients.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The interaction made me talk to other picnickers. Sure enough, they also gave me some things for sandwiches.
Tumblr media
While the ingredients were cool, I was disappointed in the fact that I couldn't join in with the other people on the route. (Like with camps in the Sword and Shield versions.)
I used Pokémon HOME to transfer a few Pokémon I needed to complete the Paldea Pokédex. While I still had the game open, I converted some of my HOME Points into Battle Points for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond.
Tumblr media
I spent some of the new BP on a Muscle Band for CHAIRMAN.
Back in Violet, I was looking around for a Masquerain. I stopped to fight this Poké Maniac just for his dialogue.
Tumblr media
But Pokémon ARE like the monsters in movies. (At least most of them are...) I thought I had to reset the game because he had a Pokémon that could help raise the stats of my Pokémon. That was until I realized Bagon was the only one he had on hand.
Tumblr media
This might be the first time I've heard Pokémon be referred to as "monsters" since 2005. (And outside of Japan, too.)
Tumblr media
But Pokémon always win.
After I beat that guy, I went off to hatch a Slakoth. But not before witnessing a Magikarp aimlessly flop around, waiting to become dinner for some predator.
Tumblr media
After racing around on Miraidon for a bit, the Slakoth finally hatched in one of the Ten Sights of Paldea.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Secluded, this is not.
With a nearby Crabrawler, the caught Pokémon total rose to 355. Now there's only 45 more Pokémon for me to deal with.
Tumblr media
A task I'm sure I won't have any trouble with in the slightest.
AUGUST 6TH
I managed to speed up my schoolwork and completely embarrass someone by getting better grades than them in my classes. I wish most of my school days could be like that.
When I went to see the Pokémon I got through Wonder Trades in Pokémon HOME, I managed to get a Chatot.
Tumblr media
It came from the DP series and belonged to someone named Concert. I was about to trade it. But stopped after I learned about this Pokémon's value.
Tumblr media
This Chatot is actually an event Pokémon. Given away in honor of the 10th Anniversary Concert held for... ...Pokémon's 10th anniversary. This explains the name and why it came from the DP series. What makes things more special is that I obtained this little guy through a Wonder Trade as opposed to the GTS or regular trades.

Distinction of Gender in Pokémon Species
#280-282/475 — Ralts Line
Going forward the design elements and biology is mostly based around birds but mythology wise is on faeries and ethereal beings.
To start off: Ralts
Many humanoid Pokémon* are monotreme (egg laying mammals). Although ralts are the first stage of an evolutionary line, they can still remain a ralts and age* but when it comes to infancy they hatch without their fur but as for senses, they’re blind and deaf so upon first breath ralts will chirp at such a frequency that the parents will hear from any manner of distance as they will send psionic energy* to the embryo as a way to introduce the ralts to the parent.
*at least in my take of Pokémon anatomy
*a Pokémon’s age is not the same as experience points
*like dolphins and crocodilian
Tumblr media
Distinctions:
The ralts line vary in appearances/cosmetics depending on the hemisphere they call home. Cold seasonal regions usually more northern are fluffier and light using their “fur” to hide along rocky outcrops. Hot and humid regions in the south are always on their paws ready to run, their “fur” is sparse and short to not trip on.
Western regions such as:
Kalos
Paldea
Unova
Eastern regions such as:
Alola
Hoenn
Johto
Kanto
Kitikami
Sinnoh
No gender dimorphism is visible as a ralts.
Kirlia
After gaining experience and control of their psychic powers, ralts evolves into Kirlia. Kirlia are very popular among coordinators and musicial oficianatos (feel free to correct in comments). Dainty dancers who gracefully float across their stages practicing their form and dances.
Tumblr media
North western kirlia as far more patient and tolerable than the south/eastern counterparts. As kirlia they still show no distinct gendering until they’re about to evolve or with age.
Gardevoir
Keep it in your pants you deviants! We’ve seen your search history and likes!/hj
Very demeur very graceful
Having gained experience and wisdom they gracefully dance before taking their final form.
Females:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A female gardevoir have very unique wing/fur that drop to their small delicate paws. They lack the vibrant bright colors both males and Gallade display.
Patient and elegant the lady in waiting; gardevoirs rarely touch the ground, using their psychic powers to hover a few inches over the ground as to not damage or dirty their dull but pure white gowns.
No matter the region each gardevoir’s gown will resemble the unique and procured trends of the culture. It was believed that in ancient Sinnoh, gardevoir were priestesses and followers of the beautiful crescent Pokémon, Cresselia. These gardevoir would have colors resembling or honoring that of the moon goddess they worshipped.
Tumblr media
After evolving females lose their horns that they no longer need to anchor their power as they no longer require it to help, however young gardevoirs who evolve at early ages will often keep these horns but after some time will fall off as they get older and mature.
Males:
Tumblr media
Male gardevoir are aggressive and fast, they run on foot which shortens their gown into something messy and sharp. They use their psychic energy for combat and often have practice sparing matches with others and gallade.
Male gardevoir keep their horns as while mature still need restraint from over exerting their powers. They are proud and flashy often showing off in dramatic displays during late fall and winter as these are the best seasons for their colors to really show off.
Gallade
The valiant chivalrous knightly swordsman
As they mature they often go off hunting for small dawn stones that are found near babbling streams and rivers and carefully weave them into bits of their “fur” where as they dance in a solo performance, the light from the sun bounces off their decorations causing the kirlia to evolve.
Gallade are loyal Pokémon having been popularized heavily in old Kalos, Paldea and Hisui for their spirit, and battle prowess. With methodical footwork their glide across the battlefield their blades retracting and drawing as their psychic ability adjusts at rapid speeds with each opponent.
Tumblr media
Gallade will always stay by the young and their mate as their bond strengthens with time and often both dying from heartbreak if the other dies early, but will stay by their side to not be alone.
As I’m sure you’ve noticed with gardevoir and gallade, they both have a love-heart chest pattern that seems to extend to the back. This is their “Bleeding Heart”* which is also a very defined way to tell the difference between gardevoir.
Rounded and drooping hearts are found mostly with females as it modestly adds to the gown.
Sharp/fiery and upturned hearts are found mostly on males to add to their display but displays their passion to females
Rare occurrences:
Tumblr media
It’s not uncommon but not really known for gallades to be female, in cases of this it is often a split that is labeled as a gardevoir, female kirlia can adorn themselves with dawn stone pebbles but they retain a delicate gown and graceful visage upon evolution however they do closely resemble in some aspects a gallade. It’s hypothesized to being an evolutionary adaption but not much has been studied from lack of cases. Domesticated are unable to display this due to the severed tie to their wild cousins.
That was fun to write up! Hope you guys liked this lil worldbuilding tidbit for my take on Pokémon! I plan on talking about eevees next but ye
Tumblr media
Oki I love you buhbye!!! :3

*wakes up in a cold sweat* do people who don't play pokemon masters know about the sinnoh villain arc.
do they know about darkrai and cyrus deciding to team up bc darkrai dragged cyrus into a nightmare and he liked it, and they realised they could both work together to reshape the world in a way they both enjoyed with everlasting nightmares for all
do they know about dialga + cresselia teaming up with lucas + dawn respectively to try to stop him while an incredibly pissed cynthia and giratina wreck cyrus' shit while STILL offering him the chance for redemption if he leaves (also, apparently giratina just inexplicably likes dropping in from the distortion world to hang out w Cynthia bc they like her????)
there's. so many cool things about the sinnoh plotline in this silly mobile game I love it so much

Chapter 20: In Which Old Things are New
The world was cool and serene, a sort of calm that echoed that of still waters that she had never seen but knew with a great familiarity as they answered her stirring. She was dreaming of warmth and light and hope, as she always had before she found herself in this body, but she knew it was time to wake. Cresselia raised her head, and she knew her name before she knew how to speak a word.
It took some time to learn how to open her mouth. By the time she managed to speak her first words, another being had formed at her side. He was far different in looks than her— dark coloring and a shadowed, hazy build rather than a bright, feathery one— but she had a feeling that the two of them were made of the same stuff, whatever it was.
She settled into the shallow water beside him and put out a paw to shake his shoulder. “Awake. There is work to be done.”
He blinked a few times before rising, clutching his head with a low groan. “I'm aware. A moment, please. I just had the most awful dream…”
Cresselia laughed. “Awful? There's no such thing as awful dreams. Only pleasant ones.”
The being looked over to her, worried. “You must be mistaken. There's only such a thing as unpleasant dreams.”
She tilted her head. “Are you ill? Perhaps that's why your dreams are misbehaving. I can fix that— your hand, please.”
He gave her his hand, and Cresselia was startled by the weight of another’s touch. Still, she closed her eyes and settled her other paw over the back of his palm. It was simple to heal him— easier than breathing. She smiled proudly at her work.
He pulled his hand away when she released it, flexing his claws and curling his hand close to his chest. “And what if you are the ill one?”
“You could heal me if you are so troubled by the possibility.”
“I…” He looked away. “I can't. I can only provide sleep.”
“I see. I think I'm through with sleeping for now, though.” She looked around, finally curious enough to take in her surroundings. The shallow water they were in gleamed with a gold light that chased at curling wisps of darkness that streaked through the pool. She couldn't decide whether the light and dark were in the midst of a game of chase or locked in a deadly pursuit. She didn't pay it much mind. The cave they were in was very dim, despite the glow of the water, and she didn't care for the dark.
“Let's see what's out there,” she told her companion.
“Mortals,” he replied. “There are mortals. You want to see them?”
“Of course. Their belief shaped us, didn't it? Make haste, Darkrai.”
He froze. “Who is Darkrai?”
“You, of course. Did you not know?”
“I didn't.”
Cresselia gave her fellow Legend a nervous glance. He didn't know his own name upon being formed, he could only bring slumber and not healing, and he thought that dreams were only ever unpleasant. Was he unwell? Perhaps he hadn't been believed in enough to be formed properly. She would need to keep watch over him to make sure he was alright.
“Come along, Darkrai. Let us go out to meet the people who made us.”
***
Darkrai was swiftly driven out by the mortals. It went well at first, with a welcoming reception by a number of the mortal groups in the area offering worship and offerings, but when night fell, the mortals were gripped by terrible dreams. They woke at dawn and forced Cresselia's counterpart from their settlement, crying silly things like omen and demon and curse. Darkrai took it much harder than he should have, Cresselia thought, and she left the mortals to confront him as he sulked in the wilderness.
“What did you expect would happen when you decided to torment them so? Mortals don't like to be mistreated.”
“I decided no such thing,” he murmured. “I willed no nightmares into existence. Did you not see me, Cresselia, blessing them in what meager way I could? I cannot heal their wounded as you do. I gave them sleep as night fell, and the boon I gave turned into an affliction before my very eyes.”
She frowned. “You need practice with your abilities. You must not have realized what you were doing as you granted them rest and mistakenly bestowed your unpleasant dreams as well.”
Her counterpart gave a heavy sigh. “I'm sure you're correct. I will do my best to improve.”
She left him to do so. The mortals welcomed her back with more offerings and praises when she returned.
***
She found Darkrai lying face down in the dirt when she went to check on his progress the next month. She swiftly healed him, and he caught hold of her arms and lamented how he'd been trapped in his unpleasant dreams for weeks, unable to escape into wakefulness.
She sighed. Her counterpart was hopelessly incompetent; she was certain now that he hadn't been formed properly by the mortals’ belief. “I can't control your powers for you. It was foolhardy of me to wake you. You must learn to manage that yourself.”
“I don't expect any such thing of you— Cresselia, I require your help.”
“You will find no success from coddling. I will wish you luck, and I will do no more.”
She left him alone in the wilderness without looking back.
***
Cresselia was forced to travel in Darkrai's wake despite intending to part ways entirely. He left a trail of unpleasant dreams wherever he went, and it was up to Cresselia to cure those who found themselves trapped in endless ones from which they could not wake. Even so, she didn't approach her counterpart, finding herself more and more angered by those she found touched by his affliction.
Darkrai approached her as she traveled to one town that was particularly tormented by what the mortals had aptly named nightmares. “Cresselia, I require your help.”
“My help in what? Locking more mortals in a sleep so terrifying and endless that they may find themselves dead come morning?”
He flinched, a heavy guiltiness overtaking his posture. “I can find no village immune to my misfortune. I've heard of your feathers preventing nightmares— if you would gift each of the people of one settlement, any of them, a feather, I would not need to wander in search of a place that—”
“You would have me pluck myself bare to conceal your refusal to control your powers?” She spat.
“I do not refuse to control them, it is a matter of their refusal to be controlled—”
“Darkrai, you wretched, selfish thing, you know fully how simple it is to restrain your powers. Yet you choose not to, and all of these mortals suffer because of that choice. If you still insist that you cannot exercise the least amount of willpower and restrain such things, then leave for the mountains and never curse another mortal with your presence.”
He looked aghast. “Cresselia, have you no compassion? I've seen your mercy in healing the mortals you encounter. Why do you not hold any for me?”
“Because you are no more than a plague on these people's homes and a burdensome weight I am doomed to carry. Leave now, before I drive you out myself.”
He refused.
Cresselia won the ensuing clash, but earned herself more than just physical scars by doing so.
***
“So you just— kicked him out? What happened after that?”
Cresselia bowed her head mournfully low. “I drove him away from any mortals he came across, until he elected to remain in isolation for centuries and I deemed him no longer a threat. It was only several decades after that I saw his plot beginning to unfold, and I resumed my dogged pursuit of him.”
Twig didn't know what to say.
“Make no mistake, human who wears charmeleon flesh, I am certainly the one that made him into the villain he was, and forged his hatred for the world about us. My vanity and selfishness in my youth left no room for kindness for the one who needed it most from me. Even Dialga and Palkia share less bad blood than my counterpart and I. But I believe your watch over him is far less scarring than mine was.”
“What the heck are you talking about?”
“How should I put it… kindness takes fifty strides where cruelty takes only one? Ah, no, that wasn't how your little guild put it… Smiles go for miles. Pay heed to your Guildmaster's words. There is no truly bad pokemon. Only ones that are scared or confused.” With that, Cresselia plucked a feather from her neck and slipped it into Twig's hand. She marveled at how it felt so warm and downy as Cresselia spoke once more. “Darkrai did not ask for his domain. He confided in me before our falling out that the universe was unkind in how it formed him, and I…” She sighed. “I must take my leave. Now that I know it is Darkrai’s presence that is ruffling me so badly, I find myself more willing to depart in order to get away from it. I do not want to test whether his continued exposure to my aura will return any memories of his.” She ducked her head in a farewell. “Good luck, Twig. Be brave, and be kind.”
And with a burst of light, Cresselia was gone, and Twig was alone— left to ponder over a life of sorrow forgotten by the one who had lived it.

Dawn (Masters) is friendly and cheery. She likes riding her bike and hanging out with her friends. She INSISTS on helping you over and over again. Overall is just a delight.
For some reason, Masters gives her Cresselia after implying her to be afraid of the dark. She has an identity crisis if you talk to her in the Trainer Lodge. You also learn about her love of superheroes! During a child kidnapping inside of a cave?
She’s like 10

had a thought.
dawn lucas and barry are essentially the closest the world has gotten to a human existing among the ranks of legendary pokemon. theyre basically existing to protect the world, on top of being having direct ties to the lake trio. so if you think about it theyre like them.
all of sinnoh's legendaries have domains or have gifted a miracle to the world of pokemon. (dialga time, palkia space, lake trio willpower knowledge and emotion, cresselia dreams, etc)
the sinnoh trio would be no different.
and in the text books written long ago, the passages from their time in hisui states that the three children with qualities like the gods gifted the world love.
not like in a “the world suddenly knows how to love” but moreso the gift was THEIR love
