On December 24, 1998, Special Agent Fox Mulder relunctantly convinced his partner Dana Scully to go with him into a haunted house on Christmas Eve by stealing her car keys. The ghosts (played by Ed Asner and Lily Tomlin) were of a couple who died in a murder suicide pact in 1917. The episode had only four characters making it the smallest cast in the series until the revival. (how the ghosts stole christmas)

Saw your tags and was curious-- IMDB also lists CC and Amann as The Unnatural co-writers, but Wikipedia does not. What does that mean? ...I dunno.

It means don't believe everything you read on the internet. 🤔

Not that this is definitive, but The End And The Beginning, The Official Guide to The X-Files lists David as the only writer. I'd be more inclined to trust the book that 1013 and FOX approved of and paid to have published than any website.

Your mileage may vary, of course.

"I think," Chandler said, beaming as he continued chattering on as the food tour continued.  "I'm really going to take you down to Cha-An for that black sesame creme brûlée I promised you.  It just melts in your mouth and is completely divine.”

 "French macarons might do the trick.  I know they won't be as delicious as any you make, but hey, it'll be great to give them a try.  If you'd like, we can make fun of their inferior quality - to your own, too." Chandler looked hopeful.

Kurt blushed under his friend's praise.  He looked at Adam,  whose eyes twinkled as he grinned back.  “Well, Kurt, then let me thank you.  I have to say your mille feuille and kouigan amann - the classic and the chocolate - were both exquisite. The texture, the flavor. . . it was all just outstanding.  I'll definitely be including them in my review.”

Kurt would so make the puff pastry for the above from scratch so . .

OTD — June 03, 2019

Court paperwork showed that George Michael left all of his £98 million fortune to family and friends and left nothing to his former boyfriends Kenny Goss and Fadi Fawaz.

George's sisters Yioda and Melanie were the main beneficiaries with them sharing equally all the major assets and his two London homes.

There was also a horse racing stud farm for George's dad Kyriacos as the singer ensured his family were taken care of.

10/10 I suggest watching the commentary version. This one 3xk (3x7 or 3x6) is good but they get caught watching the show rather than talking about it a lot

JH (JE): I was hoping for either me & lanie getting together or me & [Martha] getting together (all laugh) SD (KR): That would have been a totally different way Roe (DP?): I don’t think david saw it that way Amann (SW?): Is the two of you not a possibility? Ok so apparently they just discussed a deleted clip that they did not include & now I’m sad. They cut Ryan rubbing his hands together in the cold waiting for the 3xk to get out of the car.

He’s apologizing for keeping esposito & ryan apart now XD

Apparently one of the things they cut was the tail end of “Go! & ryan get me smth to break him with” & then castle’s like “shdfjkh?” & beckett says “fine but don’t get in his way.” Well they cut off ryan saying “I get to drive” to castle bc esposito always makes Ryan ride shotgun. 

“Aren’t we gonna check his heartbeat? Nothing?”

JH (JE): I want him because nobody hits my partner. Nobody hits my partner

They cut Ryan’s line when beckett & esposito come in: “Jerry tyson ended up being more like mike tyson”

Castle 5x15 Commentary with David Amann, Bill Roe, Susan Sullivan and Molly Quinn

It's cool to learn how they changed this scene and i'm glad they did. One of the powerful scenes for this episode; gotta admit both of them delivered it beautifully.

Molly's right too - leaving it to the audience to imagine what Castle did there is so much better too!

Also if you're into the crew of shows at all, you're going to find some similar names... like Rob Bowman, who directed so many of my favorite episodes of Castle, and David Amann.

okay hear me out - of all the iterations of Scully/Mulder that I've seen (Castle/Beckett, Jane/Lisbon, Brennan/Booth), I would argue that Castle and Beckett have the most similar dynamic to Scully and Mulder (except for the fact that Scully and Mulder never hate each other — Beckett finds Castle annoying/"hates" him).

The basic premise is that Richard Castle is an author who bases a detective character on Kate Beckett (an NYPD detective), so he shadows her as "research" for his book series. And the reason I think I find their dynamic most similar to Scully/Mulder is because of how the show subverts gender stereotypes by having Castle be the one who is more comfortable with emotion. He's not a tough guy and doesn't really try to be. Beckett is much more closed off and the one who takes longer to open up to her feelings. She's very by the book and Castle basically opens her up to life again. There are many more reasons, but that's probably the basic underlying one that leads to more similarities, i.e. the men being the believers and the women being the skeptics.

And my latest X-Files related headcanon—it's canon that Castle and Beckett know X-Files well enough for Castle to whistle the theme song and Beckett to recognize it (also they make references during that episode). And it's also canon that they're both nerds, but Beckett is more of a hidden nerd. So my headcanon is that they've both seen X-Files and that Beckett really loved Scully and even tries to be like her in some ways.

ALSO. AMAZING other characters, Castle is such a sweet father, it's a silly sweet loving show, tl;dr PLEASE WATCH IT AAAAAH

I will now try to move forward from the William Scully situation

Is it freezing on purpose or is my internet lagging

Go on, find your son’s murderer

The wall is bleeding

Chris Carter I’m still pissed at you

She’s really just out here...still teaching at Quantico

Can we get some 5 stages of grief in here or…

The boy has got some knowledge...kinda scary

Uh so..what if the student is the killer...anyone got anything to say about that

Dana Scully literally put her many months old son up for adoption and we ain’t even talking about it

I have to laugh, as not to cry 

As for the plot of this episode? Idk but that boy knows something

I’m right about that it appears

Sometimes Reyes and Doggett are an iconic team

They really just went right up to this guy and started grilling him, in the middle of a bar 

Starting to have the realization that Doggett and Reyes are in fact not gonna kiss

Uh??

Oh shit that’s how Doggett’s son was murdered, yikes 

Nine years? I thought Luke died in 1991 for some reason

It’s his son’s case..one has to wonder

I will say, it is nice that they’re dedicating an episode to this

Will this have a more clear conclusion than Samantha’s case?

I’ve always wondered about his ex-wife

I don’t understand the point of a suspect lineup a decade later when we know she didn’t see anything 

I was just thinking about how the least they could do if they’re not gonna address the William trauma is not have Scully frequently in the episode, then she walked onscreen

Doggett COULD have something with Reyes

Remember when Mulder didn’t get Scully a desk haha haha, it’s fine

Follamer’s like, dafuq is this about takeout

What dafuq is happening

Y’all know Doggett is in the room right

So the agent helping him apparently has schizophrenia

He is the killer, I fucking told you!!

Follamer is a rat and we all know it 

Follamer just expressed more anger in three words than DD in 8 seasons

This guy’s pretending to be guilty as hell, what

How can Scully even say the word son at a time like this 

I feel that this is not an accurate portrayal of schizophrenia 

Did Follamer kill him…

Alright...I have to admit, I did not see this coming but it seems like this was actually planned from the beginning of Follamer’s arc

At least one character gets a worthy ending to that which has plagued him

They are not…

I really thought Doggett and Reyes were gonna kiss for a sec tbh

Consensus: Pretty good, if you ignore the complete erasure of William Scully.
