A little more similar than you think

I'm gonna talk abt this one because quite literally, nothing drives me more insane than Princess Iron Fan and Red Son's relationship. This is based on the headcanon I've seen around that Red Son's hair turns black like coal when it gets wet, which I found really cute!! Until I realized that if that happened he'd look exactly like Princess Iron Fan and that. Hurt-/lh

My all time favourite thing to do when shipping Red Son with either Mei or MK (mostly MK) is make Princess Iron Fan a hypocrite. She'd absolutely in no fucking universe approve (at first) because she and DBK value familial loyalty above all else. But that's only the case because DBK betrayed his sworn brothers to persue her and Princess Iron Fan was disowned by her family and cast out from the heavens for marrying him so their family is literally all they have really. So her son loving the enemy would immediately mean that he's going to abandon his family for them because that's what she would do. That plus all the tension thats built up between them after only having eachother during the 500 years DBK was imprisoned, I just think it's really fun poking at their relationship.

So the Kryptonian naming culture seems to have this thing where boys just have the family name but girls have their father's name then the family name (Eg. Superman is Kal El while Supergirl is Kara Zor-El, Zor El being her father). So he's my question, if Superboy Conner Kent/Kon El had been born a girl or turned out to be trans what would her surname be? Who's her daddy? They are a clone of superman with Kex Luthor's DNA also in there. Does the clone thing mean technically her parental line goes back to Superman's parents, so Kon Jor-El (feel there is an argument for this since superman's parents the Kent's take Kon in not Superman himself implying a sibling dynamic on the tree) or is it Kon Kal-El because there's also an argument Superman is the father, or are we in Kon Lex-El or even Kon Lex-Luthor territory with this? Or even Kon John-Kent?

Superboy being a boy means he can just be given the El and Kent names to signify being in the family without specifically saying how he fits in, but if this situation happened with a girl they would have to make a specific call in terms of paternal parentage.

i desperately need to know your thoughts on the last half hour of the film, reviews that i've seen seem to be torn between it being the film of the decade and absolute shite.

It's twist after twist and it's just bad in so many ways, like insultingly obvious shit (yeah, I gathered he killed him bc he was the last person to see him alive, he was just about to reveal a secret that would have ruined his entire life and they'd just had a huge argument about it, not sure we needed a flashback for that one), twists that make the film less interesting (it looks like he's gonna stay in the house as part of the family and be their replacement son, wow, that's so cool- oh, whoops, he killed them all instead) and one that makes the entire rest of the film massively worse in retrospect (he was doing a whole scheme to lie to this guy and eventually steal his house (?) from the literal moment he saw him and everything was calculated meaning the complex emotions and homoeroticism just... weren't actually there so why he did any of that shit is beyond me.) Just turn it off when he gets kicked out by Richard E Grant and make up an ending in your head bc everything after that point is total nonsense

i’ve been spending some more time with my 2 year old baby brother (i don’t generally see him, he’s my half brother actually and he lives in a different city with my dad and his mum) and i love him to death and i’ve been thinking whether i want him to grow up knowing me as his brother or his sister

and it’s definitely the latter and i wonder how can i still doubt that i’m trans when i’m so certain about things like these, about how i want the people i love so much to see me
