𝐘𝐮𝐧𝐚'𝐬 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫!
Well, as the title suggests, I am turning 22 on January 30th (yes I can't believe it either), and it's a very very special number to me, I was obsessed with it since I was a kid—because of Taylor Swift's 22 of course (you have no idea how happy my inner child is now!).
However, I thought I should celebrate this very important event with you by hosting my second sleepover! (honestly I was planning to make this a double sleepover if I hit 300 followers before my birthday, but since I didn't, I really had to host a sleepover)
As usual, my sleepover will host games, questions, asks, and definitely, requests!!! <3
The sleepover will be a week long, from January 30th till February 6th, where you can submit asks and requests!
Note on prohibited things that I won't be doing or answering:
No nsfw/dirty asks, writing requests or questions, it's uncomfortable for me sometimes, and this is an all-ages-friendly celebration. No further elaboration, please respect this. <3
𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬:
Here's a list of the games we can play:
Kiss/Marry/Kill: you give me three characters and I will sort each one in one of these categories! (make it hard for me)
Would you rather: you give me two things/characters and I get to choose one that suits me better! (for example: night owl or early bird?)
Make an assumption: you literally make an assumption about me and I either prove it or deny it!
Never have I ever: you ask me about things I did or didn't do!
Exchanged Ships: basically, you give me a character that you find as my significant other, and I will give you a character in exchange and why I think it's the perfect character for you!
Random Q&A: you can ask me about anything, whether it's my favorite food or even what fabrics do I prefer to wear, ask whatever you want!
Girly Talks: just talk to me about any girly topic you want and we'll establish a good conversation! Let's talk about books or authors, favorite poetry pieces, maybe movies we loved in our childhood, or even your favorite outfits back when you were a 10 year old! Literally anything!
Rate My Music Taste: give me a song/artist and I will rate it from 1 (absolute flop) to 10 (total banger)! — (this is absolutely done just for fun).
I Wanna Write You A Song: start with a phrase and we will make a totally original song together in the reblogs!
Doodles: give me something simple to draw!
𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬:
As for writing requests, I will be taking fluff/angst/violence (blood and gore—due to the nature of the characters I write for) x female!reader requests only. But of course you can request the prompt you desire. <3
As for the characters, here's a list of the fictional men that I would be writing for:
Matt Murdock/Daredevil
Foggy Nelson
Tristan Thorn
Michael Kinsella
Henry (from Eat Locals)
Daryl Dixon
(might consider writing for other Charlie Cox/Norman Reedus characters. example: Ian Hamilton, Owen Sleater, Scud, Murphy MacManus, etc.)
You can ask for prompt included in this list or ones you come up with yourself:
intimate moments / gestures that make me feel love / romantic rainy day prompts / gentle things that make me fall harder in love / fluffy comforting/sick dialogue prompts / lighthearted first kiss prompts / sparring prompts / forced proximity prompts / date prompts masterpost /
Note that I will be tagging the fic requests with #yuna's 22 birthday sleepover so they're easy to find, but they will be sorted in my main masterlist as regular requests! <3
tagging my moots to spread the word sorry for being a little too annoying hehe (and I tried to tag as much as possible but my memory is messing around with me I'm sorry if I forgot anyone): @v4leoftears @remonemo @fizanotfeeza @bunmurdock @bellaxgiornata @kal-0n @1988-fiend @mattmurdocks6thscaleapartment @floral-charlie-cat @farfromstrange @babygirlmurdock @mattmurdocksscars @itwasthereaminuteago @c-mrdck @xxeycisxx @loveroftoomanyfandoms @mindidjarin @little-miss-dilf-lover @shiorimakibawrites @tongueofcat @marytheweefrenchie @chvoswxtch @devilsmurdock @galaxies-and-moons-and-cox @acharliecoxedfan @folkloreandfall @murdocklorian @munsonownsmyass @abbyhaslongshorts @murc0ck @lazyxsquirrel @theradioactivespidergwen @xxdrixx @saintmurd0ck @softasawhisper @she-likesorchids @peterman-spideyparker @mattmurdocksstarlight @amberlynnmurdock @courtforshort15 @saltedlays @importantnightwerewolf @lene-loki
That's basically everything I have for my birthday sleepover, feel free to submit requests and games! Thank you for coming to my sleepover tonight! <3

!Teen Carl x !teen reader
Fluff
Best friends to lovers
||
Working as the nurse in Alexandria wasn’t that bad, all I did was make sure our supplies were good and take care of hurt people. I hear a knock, I turn around and see michonne smiling over at me. “Hey do you have any more of these?” She asks as she raises and empty pill bottle at me, I smile at her and nod “yeah!” I reach into my cabinet and grab the antibiotics and hand it to her “see you tomorrow!” I nod at she leaves. The rest of the day is boring. I see the sun setting through the window so I pack up my supplies and lock the door as I leave into the streets of Alexandria. I walk around enjoying the scenery, ever since the apocalypse happened I never really had time to enjoy my time here. I was apart of a small group just out of Atlanta, my group has been through so much together. I zone out thinking about how much I love it here when I hear a familiar voice “y/n! Where have you been loca!?” The tall brunette asks as he does the run thing towards me. “Mr grimes,” I say pretending to take my imaginary hat off and tip it to him. He pulls me into a hug and I hug back, I have been friends with Carl since the quarry when we were seven. We’ve moved from place to place searching for a good spot to live in. Now that we were 16 in the perfect utopia me and Carl have gotten closer. Usually when I’m not at work and he isn’t busy with Judith, me and Carl are hanging out together. Literally doing anything. “But seriously where have you been y/n?” I smile at the teen “I had to work today!” He nods “well I’ve been looking for you!” I furrow my eyebrows as a question “I asked enid out!” I’m not sure why but my heart sinks a little “oh!” I say. He nods excited “um good for you?” I say with a small laugh “you mad or something!” He jokes around, I roll my eyes and turn and walk away “so you are mad! I never knew y/n l/n would be jealous over poor little me!” He says following me. I roll my eyes “I’m not jealous over you Carl! You’re literally my best friend!” I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a thing for Carl grimes, who wouldn’t have a thing for him. He is handsome, sweet, funny, literally the perfect person. But I couldn’t admit it to him. “Have fun with Enid! Tell me about it after!” I gave him a weak smile and walk away from him, the next day I wake up and go to work. The day is slow, nothing really happens. Haven’t heard from Carl yet. If I’m being honest I don’t wanna hear how his super awesome date went with super hot Enid. My heart aches at the thought of them together, I guess I did have a crush on the one and only Carl grimes. Soon enough the sunlight fades into moonlight and still not one word from Carl, usually he would come and check up on me during my work day but no. Slowly I walk back to my house, when I walk in I hear slow footsteps. I reach for my gun which Daryl makes me carry around, I walk up the stairs and slowly open my bedroom door and see Carl sitting on my bed and reading one of my books “Jesus Christ carl!” I say putting my gun down “you scared the living hell out of me!” He laughs “well I couldn’t go see you today so might as well see you tonight!” I furrow my eyebrows “let me tell you all about my amazing date with Enid!” He starts rambling on breaking my heart with every word, “OMG WILL YOU SHUT IP ABOUT ENID!?” I snap he looks at me with a confused look “look I don’t care about Enid! How have you not noticed!? Jesus Christ you must be fucking stupid!” He looks hurt by my words “y/n what?-“ I cut him off by pressing my lips against his. I pull back and immediately say “shit I’m so sorry I didn’t-“ I was cut off by him kissing me “finally! All I had to do was go on a date with Enid for you to admit you like me?” He laughs and I smack his shoulder before kissing him again.

Words: 6,247 Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader Reader pronouns: she/her Era: Alexandria Warnings: language, some fighting, that's it! A/N: Jealous!Daryl Dixon? YES PLEASE. Summary: Daryl finds himself in a bad mood when Y/N is asked to attend a community event by a local man.
Your name: submit What is this?
“What the hell are you two gigglin’ about over here?” Daryl asked, emerging from his space down in the basement. Maggie and Rosita spun immediately and they seemed to clam up a bit, exchanging a look with one another which only furthered the archer’s curiosity. “What?”
“Nothin’,” Maggie said.
“Uh huh, that’s real believable,” he mumbled. “Ya’ll goin’ to this bonfire tonight?” he asked.
“There’s supposed to be booze and food, so I’m in,” Rosita laughed. Maggie nodded.
“Glenn and I are planning to go for a little while. Rick still wants us all to try. Even though it does feel a little silly considering what’s goin’ on outside.”
Daryl scoffed. “Silly is right. Feels like we’re playin’ pretend while the world is on fire,” he said, withdrawing a cigarette and fishing into his pocket for his lighter.
“You’re clean,” Maggie commented. “You look nice,” she said.
Daryl simply avoided her eyes and changed the subject. “Who else is goin’?” he drawled.
Maggie and Rosita exchanged another look.
“What?” Daryl prodded again, increasingly annoyed.
Rosita cleared her throat and sank down on a stool at the kitchen island. “I think pretty much all of us. Carol, Abraham…” She left a long pause until Maggie nudged her with her elbow and gave her a pointed look. “Oh, yeah. Right. Y/N is going. Apparently, someone from here asked her to go with him.” The two women carefully watched Daryl’s expression.
“Mmm,” he hummed, averting his eyes as he felt his stomach twist. Maggie thought she saw the muscle in his jaw tense as he clenched his teeth.
“That’s it? ‘Mmm’?” Rosita said, a small smirk on her face.
Daryl glared at her. “The hell am I supposed to say?” he growled, feeling a hot swelling of jealousy rise up in his chest. He breezed past her to the front door and was reaching for the knob when you were suddenly there at the bottom of the stairs, almost bumping into him.
“Oh! Sorry,” you said with a nervous laugh. You felt your face grow warm with a bit of a blush. You were rushing to ask Maggie and Rosita what the hell you should wear to the bonfire for your—date? Was it a date? You didn’t know what to call it. In any case, you hadn’t expected to quite literally almost run into Daryl.
He had to try really hard not to blatantly look you up and down. You looked stunning, freshly showered and dressed in your own sensible style, standing there looking a bit nervous. “S’alright,” he said, backing up toward the front door to get out of your way.
You noticed that he was in clean clothes and his brown hair was clean and shiny. He’d obviously showered and tidied up. You gave him a small and somewhat bashful smile and breezed past him into the kitchen. Daryl quickly let himself out onto the porch and sank down on the top step, flicking his lighter and fiddling with the cigarette in his fingers, but not lighting it. Inside, he could hear Maggie and Rosita’s jovial voices and loud laughter.
You all had hardly been in Alexandria a month and some guy already had the balls to ask ya out? Daryl felt another swell of jealousy and suspicion. He really wanted to know who the hell this guy was…
“You look amazing,” Maggie said with a wide grin, taking in your outfit and smooth and shiny hair. “Really. It’s perfect.”
“His jaw is going to hit the floor,” Rosita said. You gave her a skeptical look.
“You’re really making way too big a deal out of this. It’s just a bonfire,” you said, glancing down at your clothes. “It’s nothing. I don’t even know if it’s fair to call it a date,” you said. “I don’t know if I even want to call it that.”
“Why not?” Maggie asked. “He seems plenty nice.”
You shrugged. “Yeah, he seems to be... It’s just… he’s a complete stranger practically. And it’s just been us for so long.”
Rosita laughed. “No one is telling you to marry him. Just go and have a good time… and if it feels right,” she gave you a suggestive look and laughed when your jaw dropped open.
“Stop!” you scolded her, eliciting loud laughter and an appreciative grin from Maggie.
Rosita grinned. “What?! I’m just saying! Like you said, it’s been just us, just you for so long!” You rolled your eyes and sighed at her. “You’re ridiculous,” you said.
“That’s why you love me,” she said. “Now go and finish getting ready. He’ll be here to pick you up in like a half an hour.”
“Wear that black jacket you have!” Maggie shouted after you as you headed back toward the stairs.
“Okay!” you called over your shoulder. You caught sight of Daryl’s broad shoulders as you passed the front window and you felt a sort of empty, sinking feeling in the middle of your chest, right between your lungs. Sometimes you’d wondered if there was some spark with the stoic archer. You were definitely attracted to him, but he’d never made any explicit sign that maybe he was interested in you. At least, none that you had noticed or admitted to yourself… You were quite adept at denial. But what you couldn’t deny was the leap your heart did every time your name left his lips with that easy southern drawl and how the air always seemed to be charged and crackling with electricity when you found yourself alone with him. You sighed and climbed the stairs. Oh, well. Rosita was right. You’d just go to the bonfire and try to have a good time, see how it felt.
Daryl was still outside on the porch, finally smoking his last cigarette when he saw a figure coming down the street. He was tall, with neatly trimmed brown hair, and had his hands tucked into the pockets of his jeans. He noticed Daryl as he came up the front walk and gave him a tight smile.
“Hey,” the guy said. “You must be Daryl, right?” he said, holding out his hand.
But Daryl just eyed him suspiciously. “Don’t think we’ve ever met,” he said, putting the butt of his cigarette out underneath his boot. The guy finally let his proffered hand drop a little awkwardly.
“No, we haven’t, but I’ve heard about you. From Y/N and Aaron. You’re going out to find people with him, right?”
Daryl’s blue eyes were still narrowed, trying to get a read on this guy and he simply nudged his nose up once in a nod and hummed a noise of acknowledgement.
“Right. That’s—that’s great. I hope you can find some more people out there who need help.”
Daryl didn’t respond and just let the silence stretch longer than it was comfortable.
The guy cleared his throat and awkwardly rubbed a hand over the back of his neck. “Well, um—I’m here to see Y/N. Is she inside?” he asked, jutting a thumb in the direction of the front door.
Daryl straightened up and walked over to it before pushing inside and leaving it standing wide open behind him. He headed straight for his space in the basement without another word, but he heard the guy let out a hesitant “Y/N?” from the entryway as he descended the stairs.
He couldn’t stand the thought of watching you come down and leave with this guy, seeing the bright smile that would probably light up your face like it always did. He sulked for a while, sitting on the edge of his bed before finally deciding that you had probably both left by now. The archer climbed the stairs again and met Glenn in the hallway, heading toward the front door.
“Hey,” Glenn greeted him cheerfully. “You heading to this thing?”
“Guess so,” Daryl said, his expression a little uncertain.
“Maggie and the others already went ahead. I’m heading over there now. You coming?”
“Mm,” he hummed, nodding and chewing on his bottom lip anxiously. “Alright.”
As he and Glenn headed toward the center of town, Daryl could already hear loud conversation and laughter and he wondered why the hell he was even going to this thing at all… But your face popped up in his mind and he knew he wanted to make sure that you’d be alright, make sure this guy wasn’t up to no good… Not that you needed his help. You were plenty capable on your own but… just in case, he told himself.
“Come on. Let’s grab a drink and then find everybody,” Glenn said. Daryl followed him through the crowd of people milling around. The noise was overwhelming and immediately Daryl wished he was almost anywhere but there. Glenn pushed a beer into his hand and gave him a sympathetic look. “This is weird, right?” he said, glancing around.
“Yeah,” Daryl agreed. “Feel like I’m in a goddamn Hallmark movie or some shit.”
Glenn let out a sardonic laugh and nodded. “Yeah… Oh, hey. There they are.” He tilted his head toward the edge of the circle of illumination from the fire and lanterns. Daryl followed him in silence, edging past people he felt were all glancing at him like he was some kind of criminal. He could have been imagining it, but then again, maybe he wasn’t.
He stood quietly with Glenn, Maggie, and Abraham as they talked. Each of them just sipped their drinks. Occasionally, silences would fall that were heavy with unspoken thoughts and memories that contrasted so sharply with the scene they now found themselves in that it was unbalancing.
Eventually Daryl broke off using the excuse of getting another drink and he let his eyes scan the crowd for you. He finally spotted you sitting across from the guy who had picked you up at a picnic table, a plastic cup in your hand. He was talking to you animatedly and you were nodding along, occasionally responding with a smile or a few words. Daryl thought you looked… bored? Or was that just wishful thinking?
He was kicking himself at that moment, realizing just exactly how much he really cared about you, and how he truly couldn’t stand the thought of you ending up with someone else. Especially, this guy. Looking at him Daryl had a feeling he wouldn’t know what the fuck to do if a walker or some living asshole came at him. It’s your own damn fault. He heard it in his own mind. If he wasn’t such a goddamn coward he would have told you by now that he thought you were the most amazing person he’d ever met.
His mood significantly darkened, Daryl made his way back over to the refreshment table and grabbed another beer. He came to stand at the edge of the circle of light again and lit up a cigarette, allowing himself to glance over at you occasionally, trying to read your expression.
“Hey.”
Daryl turned to see Abraham beside him suddenly. He followed Daryl’s gaze and spotted you sitting across from your “date”. “Here,” he said, nudging Daryl’s shoulder gently with a bottle of bourbon. “I’m sure you could use this,” he said.
Daryl gave him a questioning look and Abraham only nodded. “You really gonna argue this point? Come on,” he said, shaking the bottle again. “I know love sickness when I see it.” The strong military man sighed. “I’ve seen it on myself in the mirror.”
“I ain’t—”
“Call it whatever you want, but stop lying to me about it. And to yourself,” he said.
Daryl gave him an uncomfortable look but accepted the bottle of liquor and drank deeply from it before passing it back.
“Yeah,” Abraham said, taking another pull himself. “Life’s shitty sometimes. But it’s shittier if you sit on your ass.”
The two men stood side by side, passing the bottle for quite some time and it wasn’t long before they were both pretty drunk.
“Man, fuck this,” Daryl drawled, tossing his cigarette down and putting it out with his boot. If you hadn’t been sitting with a stranger, the archer would have surely left by now. But he couldn’t bear the thought of laying on his bed back at the house and wondering if you were still with him, if you were home yet. What if you went home with that guy? Daryl’s stomach twisted again with jealousy. “I’m gonna go get another beer. Ya want one?” he asked Abraham, who shook his head. He was even more drunk than Daryl and mumbled something before wandering away back toward Rosita and the others.
Daryl wove his way through the crowd, his eyes ahead on the table of refreshments. He grabbed another beer and popped the top when he felt eyes on him. Looking up, he saw Deanna’s son Aiden and a few of his cronies eyeing him. Aiden said something to Nicholas that made them all burst out into laughter, and Daryl had the distinctive feeling that it was something derogatory about him. He felt like his blood was about to boil.
The archer strode over to them, already knowing this was a bad idea, but at the moment, with the toxic mixture of jealousy and bourbon coursing through his bloodstream, he wanted to pick a fight. “The hell ya staring at?” he demanded, getting right up in Aiden’s face.
A little smug smirk grew on Aiden’s face. “Nothing,” he said. “No, literally nothing. I mean, you’re nothing. Why don’t you get the hell out of here and head back to whatever trailer park you crawled out of? Nobody wants you here.” This was born of booze and arrogance too.
Back at the picnic table, you laughed politely at some little remark and spun your drink in your hands a little anxiously, glancing down into the amber liquid inside the red plastic cup and feeling distinctly out of place. It had been a long time since you’d been on anything even resembling a date but… was this how it was supposed to feel? You didn’t feel at ease at all. And you weren’t even really enjoying yourself. You were—there was no other word for it—bored.
You suddenly realized he had just asked you a question and you glanced back up. “Sorry? Say that again?”
“Oh, just… your group. You were out there since the beginning pretty much?” he asked.
You nodded. “Mhm. Most of us found each other not too long after everything really went to shit.”
“Wow. I can’t imagine. I was pretty much in here since it happened.” There was a thoughtful pause before he went on. “What was it like out there? I mean, what was it really like? Those of us on the inside hear a little bit from Aiden and those guys who do the supply runs, but you can never really tell how much is true and how much he’s embellishing.”
You stared at him for a long moment. He seemed completely clueless that he was asking you to dive into a topic that was wrought with a lot of trauma, not something you even talked about with most of the people in your group. You gulped and avoided his eyes. “It’s, um… hard to talk about. We—we lost people out there.”
He seemed to realize based on your response that he had dug too deep too fast, realized his mistake, and was immediately apologetic. “Oh, God. What was I thinking? I’m sorry. I—I shouldn’t have asked you that. I—”
But a commotion suddenly drew your attention and you looked up just in time to see Daryl wind a fist back and punch Aiden squarely in the face. He dropped like a lead weight and you jumped to your feet, your jaw dropped open. “Shit… I—I’m sorry. Excuse me—sorry,” you said hurriedly. You left him behind and immediately rushed straight over into the fray.
Aiden was on the ground with blood pouring out of his nose and three of his friends were immediately on Daryl, who was trying to shake them off. You were there in an instant.
“Get off him!” you yelled, pushing Nicholas off the archer. “Everybody just stop!” you yelled over the commotion.
Daryl was still raging, trying to get back to Aiden and grappling with the two other men holding him back. “Ya better keep looking over your shoulder, ya fuckin’ asshole!” he roared.
You could easily hear the drunken slur in his voice and smell the whiskey on him. The other men had obviously been drinking heavily too. Now Rick and Glenn were rushing over, trying to squeeze their way through the crowd. “Daryl! DARYL! Stop!” you moved in front of him and pressed your hands to his chest. “Daryl!” For the first time he realized you were there and he froze immediately, suddenly overwhelmed with worry that you’d get hurt in the chaos if he kept fighting. He stilled and you pulled your hands off his broad chest, trying your hardest to ignore the heat you suddenly felt in your face. You watched his chest heaving with exertion and caught his blue eyes. “Just stop,” you said, more gently this time. You turned to look at the men still hanging onto him and glared at them. “Let him go.” Neither of them moved. “I said fuck off!” you yelled, pushing one of them off Daryl. The other one released Daryl’s other arm and turned to help Aiden to his feet.
“What the hell is going on?” Rick asked in an angry undertone. “Daryl,” he growled, giving him a sharp look.
“S’nothin’. Forget it. Just a buncha assholes,” Daryl drawled. “M’outta here.”
Glenn sighed heavily, clearly realizing how drunk Daryl was. “I’ll walk back with him,” he said to Rick in an undertone. Rick stalked off, rubbing a hand over his face and shaking his head.
“I’ve got it,” you said to Glenn. “Just—stay with Maggie and try to enjoy yourselves, okay?”
Glenn glanced cautiously at Daryl who was still staring daggers after Aiden and his crew as they walked away. “Are you sure? Aren’t you supposed to be out with somebody?” Glenn asked you, quiet enough so Daryl wouldn’t hear him.
“Yeah, but—” you shrugged. “I’ve got him,” you insisted.
Glenn hesitated but finally nodded and headed back over to Maggie.
You touched Daryl lightly on the arm. “Hey. Come on. Let’s go home, alright? Those guys are dicks. It’s not worth it.”
Daryl glanced down at the spot where your fingers had rested on his arm a moment before. He’d felt a zap of electricity when you touched him. His eyes drifted up to your face and although they were a little bleary you thought you saw a softness in them that was startling considering the anger that had been there a moment before. Finally, he nodded.
“Good. Okay. Umm… Just wait for me over there a sec, okay? I’ll be right there,” you said.
“Where ya goin’?” Daryl asked, his brow drawing down low over his blue eyes.
“I just need to get my jacket. It’ll only take a sec.”
Daryl glanced back over at the guy you’d been sitting with, who was now standing next to the picnic table, his eyes fixed in your direction. “Alright,” he said.
You nodded and watched Daryl walk off, a little unsteadily. You made your way back over toward the picnic table and gave your date a tight smile. “Sorry. I’ve gotta go,” you said apologetically, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. “I’m gonna make sure Daryl gets home alright and see if he’s okay. He’s pretty drunk...”
He looked disappointed. “Oh. Okay. That’s too bad… but I understand.” He glanced over at Daryl, who was now waiting impatiently just a short distance away. “I can’t blame him for hitting Aiden.”
You let out a small laugh and rolled your eyes. “Yeah… Let’s hope that’s the end of it. Honestly, Aiden is lucky Daryl’s drunk. Would have been much worse if he wasn’t,” you said. “Anyway, umm, I’ll see you around,” you said a bit awkwardly. You bent to grab your jacket from the bench and when you straightened up, he was standing quite close to you.
“This was really nice,” he said. “I hope we can see each other again.”
You were trying to formulate a gentle rejection in your mind, gathering the words to say something like “It’s not you. It’s me.” when suddenly his hand landed on your waist and the other pressed onto your lower back. You realized he was going to try to kiss you. You opened your mouth to speak and started to pull away, but before you could get any words out Daryl was suddenly there and pushed him off you forcefully.
“The hell are ya doin’?! Can’t ya tell she didn’t want that?” he roared. “The fuck is wrong with you?!”
You felt your face burning with heat. “Daryl!” you yelled at him, snapping his eyes back to your face. The archer watched your jaw clench angrily. “We’re leaving. Now.” You cast a brief glance at your date but were too embarrassed to hold his eyes for very long. “I’m—sorry,” you mumbled. You turned on your heel and got the hell out of there as fast as you could. You could sense that Daryl was right behind you.
You pulled on your jacket as you reached the sidewalk and turned to look at Daryl. His blue eyes were already on you as you turned around. “What the hell is the matter with you?” you snapped at him. “What the fuck was that?”
He stopped abruptly and stared at you, his eyes slightly narrowed. “Did I read the situation wrong? Ya wanted to kiss that guy?” he growled.
You scoffed. “No, but I didn’t need you to burst in there and shove him off me! I can handle myself! First, you’re hammered, then you pick that fight with Aiden and those guys, and then this? What is the matter with you tonight?!” You stared at him, bewildered.
He chewed anxiously on his bottom lip and let out a huff before striding past you on the sidewalk. “Nothin’,” he growled.
You let out a noise of frustration and rushed after him, falling in beside him and racing to keep up with his long strides.
“Sorry I ruined your night,” he said. There was a sharp flintiness in his voice. Daryl’s stomach twisted again with jealousy. “Ya can go back. I dun need a babysitter.”
He’d hardly finished saying it when he stumbled a bit on a slightly uneven part of the sidewalk and you reflexively grabbed onto him to steady him. Your eyebrows lifted in surprise. “You sure about that?”
Daryl gulped at the sensation of your hands on him and ducked his head. He slowed his pace a little and you walked side by side again. It was silent for a short time and the air between the two of you was tense.
“So… do you want to tell me why you decided you needed to get shitfaced and pick a fight?” you asked him, shoving your hands into the pockets of your jacket.
“Mmm,” Daryl hummed a noise of acknowledgement. “Who says I started it anyway?”
“You are the one who punched Aiden in the face,” you pointed out, giving him a look.
“He was askin’ for it.”
You nodded and sighed. “I don’t actually doubt that. But it’s not like you to drink this much. What’s going on?”
He ignored the question. You’d now arrived back at the house and Daryl started up the steps cautiously, feeling that his balance was not so great. He’d made it two steps up when he started to pitch backwards and you rushed to grab onto him again. “Whoa, whoa!” Your hands flew around him and landed on his sides. He steadied but you still didn’t release your gentle hold on him. You were standing a step higher than he was and it put your eyes almost right in line with his. You could feel the tension in his muscles beneath your fingers and the thin cotton of his shirt. You felt like you were suddenly paralyzed, yours eyes connected. Daryl watched your lips part slightly, and he felt like he was being drawn in. You gulped, feeling suddenly nervous and overwhelmed at the tingling and warmth that was suddenly radiating through you.
Finally, you blinked a few times, your eyelashes fluttering as you came to your senses, almost as if out of a daze. You tried your best to ignore the butterflies that you now felt in your stomach. You moved beside him and wrapped an arm around his back. “Okay. Easy. I’d rather not have to take you to Denise for a broken bone,” you said softly. It seemed like your anger with him had suddenly evaporated.
Daryl was still staring at you beside him and the sensation of your hands intimately on his sides a moment before, even if it just had been to steady him, had him reeling. Even your arm around him was sending sparks up his spine.
He allowed you to lead him into the house. You broke from him to fill a glass of water up in the kitchen and Daryl watched you with an urgent desire growing in his chest. His thoughts were interrupted as you nudged your head in the direction of the living room.
“Come on,” you said quietly. Daryl trailed behind you and sank down heavily on the couch. You set the glass of water down on the coffee table in front of him before grabbing a seat in the oversized arm chair nearby.
Daryl was leaned forward staring down at his hands, elbows on his knees, fighting an internal battle between wanting to tell you everything that had been on his mind since that guy showed up at the house to pick you up and knowing that he was was drunk and that perhaps now wasn’t the time… Finally, he resolved to keep his mouth shut and simply downed the glass of water before flopping back and stretching out on the couch. The ceiling wavered before his eyes and he planted a boot on the floor to ground himself and try to offset the nauseating spinning feeling.
You leaned your chin on your elbow and sighed, staring at him as he laid on the couch and wondering what the hell had gotten into him. He’d been silent for a while and based on the slow and steady rise and fall of his chest you could tell he was asleep.
You got up and quietly tiptoed over to, unlacing and pulling off his boots as gently as you could. Not gently enough, however, for the always vigilant archer. Daryl shot upright on the couch and gave you a somewhat startled look. You were frozen, kneeling beside him, and he registered his boot in your hand. You gave him an apologetic glance before discarding it on the floor next to the other one. “Sorry. Go back to sleep,” you said, straightening up. Daryl’s eyes followed you as went and grabbed a blanket from a nearby basket. His eyes were still on you when you turned around and approached him again, hesitating at the queer expression on his face. “What is it? Are you okay?” you asked him.
Daryl nodded almost imperceptibly and flopped down again on his back.
You unfolded the blanket and were draping it over him when you felt his blue eyes still fixed on your face. You met them and gave him another questioning look, taken aback by the softness in them.
“Yer beautiful,” he drawled quietly.
You straightened up in surprise, your stomach flipping as you registered his words. You bashfully avoided his eyes and adjusted the blanket over him. “You’re drunk,” you murmured.
“Dun mean I’m lyin’.”
You gulped at the nervous tightness in your throat from his words and gave him a long look. Daryl’s eyes flickered between your lips and the endless hues in your eyes. “Get some sleep, Daryl,” you said gently, turning to sink into the armchair again and puzzling over the archer.
_ _ _ _ _ _
The next morning, Daryl awoke with a nightmare of a headache. When he sat up on the couch, getting his bearings, he felt the blanket slip off him and remembered how you’d covered him over with it and pulled off his shoes. His heart jumped at the memory of your hands steadying him.
He glanced over and you were still asleep, curled up in the big stuffed chair. Daryl got up and grabbed the blanket, crossing the space as silently as he could and draping the blanket over you before heading for the front door.
He leaned his forearms on the railing, kicking himself for getting so drunk the night before. Not because of his hangover, however, but because you probably now thought he was an idiot.
He sighed heavily and chewed the side of his thumbnail, lost in his thoughts. After a while, he headed back inside and grabbed a quick shower before flopping down on his bed in the basement, fiddling with a bolt for his crossbow.
“Daryl?”
Your voice drifted down from the top of the stairs.
He sat up on the edge of his bed. “Ya?”
“Um. Can I come down?”
“Of course,” he hollered back at you. Your soft steps sounded on the stairs and soon you emerged through the doorway. You looked luminous, even in the dimness of his basement space. “Hey.”
“Hey,” you said. “How are you feeling?” you asked kindly.
He let out a scoff. “Hungover. But that’s what I get for being a dumbass,” he drawled, still twirling the bolt between his fingers.
You gave him a sympathetic look. “You’re not a dumbass,” you said.
He gave you a long look. “Ya here to yell at me again?” he asked, one corner of his mouth twitched up so you could tell he was only half-serious.
“No,” you said, moving closer and standing directly in front of him.
He chewed on his bottom lip a little anxiously, feeling his heart beating faster with you standing so close now. In fact, he was exceedingly nervous with you there in his space. During late sleepless nights, ge’d imagined you there with him but he didn’t think you’d ever even really come downstairs. He hazarded another glance at you. “M’sorry I ruined yer night.”
You shook your head, your eyebrows drawing down low over your eyes. “You didn’t.”
He gave you a questioning look. “But ya had to leave cuz of me.”
You nodded and surprised him by coming to sit close next to him on the edge of his bed. “Yeah. But that’s okay. I wasn’t having a good time anyway.” You glanced around his space, feeling your heart flutter with nerves being alone with Daryl. It was quintessentially Daryl. His crossbow was leaning up against the nightstand and there were layers of richly colored blankets draped on his bed. Little bits of collected treasures were set on a shelf nearby—deer antlers, brightly colored leaves, glistening fragments of mica. Being in his space down there, tucked away from the rest of the house, felt strangely intimate.
“Mmm,” Daryl hummed in acknowledgement. He gathered every bit of courage he could muster. “Ya asked me why I drank so much.”
You caught his blue eyes again and nodded as your heart skipped a beat.
“I was—I was jealous…” He nervously licked his lips and stared down at his hands, afraid that he’d see rejection in your eyes. “Soon as that guy came to pick you up I was just—pissed off. And I ain’t got no right to be. I’ve wasted so much time instead of just tellin’ ya—”
You were holding your breath now. “Tell me what?” you said, not intending for it to come out in a whisper, but it did.
Daryl gulped and continued. “Tellin’ ya that—” He forced his eyes to yours and drank in the inquisitive and somewhat puzzled expression on your face. “—I think you’re the most amazin’ person I’ve ever met. And I don’t want ya to be with anyone but me.” He braced himself for your reaction, feeling suddenly sick and anticipating a gentle rejection.
But when he looked up again your eyes were just a little wide with surprise.
“Well, Christ, Y/N,” he drawled, held in suspense. “Just at least say somethin’.”
“I—I’m sorry. I’m just—Daryl,” you said. There was happy laughter in your voice and you broke into a brilliant smile that sent his heart skipping a beat again. “You never—I mean, I didn’t think you were interested in me like that.”
Daryl was cautiously optimistic based on your reaction and he ducked his head. “Yeah, well I… I ain’t good enough for ya. And I didn’t know how to—” He shook some hair out of his eyes and glanced back over at you. “Anybody would be an idiot not to want ya and it wasn’t until that guy yesterday showed up that I realized that means eventually somebody else might—” He broke off as you suddenly climbed to your feet and moved around in front of him.
His knees were angled wide enough apart that you were able to step in close to him. Daryl studied the somewhat pained but soft expression on your face and a blaze of warmth grew in his chest as you brushed his hair away from his face and clasped it gently. “Not good enough for me?” You shook your head. “Daryl. You’re the best man I’ve ever known. And I’ve been crazy about you almost since day 1. I just didn’t think you wanted—”
His arm looped around you, his hand flattening out on your lower back and drawing you in closer. His other hand went lightly to your face, his fingers tangling into your hair. He hesitated only one more moment, his eyes flitting between yours and then down to the soft pout of your lips, before he pulled you the rest of the way into him and kissed you hungrily.
You hummed a noise of pleasure into his lips and looped your arms around his neck, arching against his strong chest, kissing him back feverishly, hardly believing this was happening. Daryl could feel you smiling into the kiss and after several long moments of heated bliss it softened and you pulled back, but just slightly. Daryl watched as your eyes flitted open again. There was a rosy glow in the apples of your cheeks and a soft smile on your face. The light in your eyes was staggering. You pressed a hand flat against his chest and felt the urgent racing of his heart.
“You never said anything,” you whispered.
He shrugged, not releasing his arms from around you. He didn’t know if he ever would. “Ya didn’t either,” he pointed out. His hands smoothed down your sides and landed lightly on your hips. He focused on the feeling of you beneath his fingers.
Your smile grew wider as you looked into his strikingly blue eyes. You gently clasped his face again and ran your fingers over the stubble on his jaw. “Still feel hungover?” you asked.
“Umm,” he chewed his bottom lip and shook his head, not taking his eyes off yours. “Nah. Not at all anymore.”
“Good.” You crashed your lips into his again, relishing the feeling of his hands smoothing over your back and lightly gripping your hips. Daryl pulled you tightly against him, like even though you were already pressed together it wasn’t close enough. Your lips moved effortlessly with his and the gentle trailing of his fingertips down your spine sent electricity running over your skin.
He clasped your face in both hands and his kisses softened again until you finally broke apart, staring right into those blue eyes you loved so much.
“You know I don’t want you to think that getting drunk and punching people magically gets you what you want,” you breathed, a sparkle of teasing in your eyes. “Don’t make a habit out of it.”
“What else could I possibly want?” he drawled.
You grinned at him, giving him that megawatt smile, before leaning into him and kissing him again.

If you’re interested, Daryl Dixon with 39 & 50 😊 set in the prison with some angst bc he doesn’t want to express his feelings
Since the moment you met Daryl, you knew he was a man of very little words. He only spoke when he needed to, and less frequently when he wanted to. But over the years, you and him had developed a relationship that didn't have any kind of label attached to it. You weren't together, but you knew there were mutual feelings. You just never had the conversation that confirmed it. It was always a rollercoaster with him. Some days he acted like he didn't know you. He kept his distance and would be standoffish with you. And then other days he was there with you, stealing you away so it could just be the two of you, and it was perfect. You didn't understand why it couldn't be like that all the time. Lately he had been more distant than usual. You had gone all day not seeing him and you felt like he was deliberately avoiding you. After a long period of time where he allowed himself to get to know you better, and then it was like a switch was flipped. You grew tired of the way he was making you feel. Like you weren't good enough to fully commit to. Were you just being used? Did he not really care about you? After spending nearly an hour hunting him down, you finally found Daryl out in the courtyard of the prison, literally kicking rocks. "Hey," you called out to him the closer to you got. He looked up at you for a brief moment but went back to what he was doing without saying a word. You felt your heart drop, hating the feeling that just gave you. "Where have you been? I've been looking for you all day." He gave a shrug and looked up at you. "Just been busy." "Doing what? Avoiding me?"
Scoffing, he turned his back to you, kicking around some pebbles. You watched him a moment, crossing your arms across your chest and waiting to see if he'd offer you anything more than the scoff. When it was apparent that he had no intention of saying anything else, you were fed up. "What's your deal? I'm getting serious whiplash with these different mood swings of yours." He looked at you, and you could tell he was working up on something to say, but it wasn't being expressed. "What? Say what you want to say." One of your biggest pet peeves was lack of communication, and you didn't know what you were really expecting with him since he had a hard time getting personal, but you thought maybe there would be at least a little communication. "What do you want from me?" He finally spoke, his voice raising just a bit. At least he wasn't afraid to express his frustration... "I want you to tell me what we're doing. Why do you avoid me after we have weeks where we're together, you look at me like you like me, and then you go weeks acting like you'd rather not know me. It's confusing! If you're playing some kind of sick game, I don't want to be part of it anymore!" "I ain't playing any games.." His tone was stern now, like it was insulting to even insinuate he would do such a thing. "Then what are you doing?! You're not telling me anything, and I'd like to know if I'm just wasting my time, or if there's something here worth fighting for!" His gaze was glued to you. Things were circulating in his brain, but he was too afraid to say them out loud. He was constantly at war with himself, self-sabotaging and making himself miserable, all because he thought it was what he deserved. "Stop yelling at me!" "I'm upset! Do you really not see what you're doing? How cruel this is? Just talk to me, let me know what we're doing, if you want me to walk away." His expression softened a bit. "I don't want you to walk away." "Then tell me what you want." He hesitated for a few minutes. You could see how difficult it was for him to say what he wanted to say. "I'm scared to let myself want you." His words had taken you aback, they were the most honest you had ever heard him speak. "Why? We both want this, what is there to be afraid of?" Finally, you stepped closer to him. You wanted to reach out and grab his hands, but you didn't want to scare him away. "I don't wanna hurt you, I might not be good for you." You stepped forward and placed your hands around the back of his neck. "I'm not going anywhere, okay? If it hasn't been obvious, I want to be with you. But I can't keep going back and forth like we have been. We can make this work, but we have to communicate. You have to be open with me." You didn't care how slow things went, you didn't care about labels, you just wanted to be with him. "Are you willing to try this with me? There's no pressure for anything, I promise. We're gonna be fine." He nodded, pushing strands of hair from your face and draping his arm around you to pull you into him. He left a kiss on the top of your head and you wrapped your arms around him, happy that finally you were on the same page. "I'm sorry for messing up, getting close to someone is new to me." "I know, it's ok. You can talk to me about anything, though, okay? You don't have to be afraid to be open with me."
"I just need you to be patient with me.. I'm gonna mess up, and it's gonna be frustrating, but I'm trying." You looked up at him and smiled. "Okay. I promise." You gave a light smile and reached up to give him a kiss on the cheek.

FIRE AND MOSS // Daryl Dixon X Reader// CHAPTER 4
TW: strong language
You tried your best to fall asleep, you were exhausted. Sleep didn’t come easy; especially not after being on your own for as long as you were. Any shut eye was interrupted by the smallest noise- leaves rustling, water dripping from trees, the gentle flapping of a bird’s wings. Every single noise made you jolt up, ready to pounce on anything that tried to come close to you. You were so used to being alone, with no backup, nobody to look out for you, nobody to care for you that spending the night at a safe place felt strange.
You rolled to your side with a heavy sigh. Your eyes hurt and you were sure you had some horrifying eyebags, too. The sleeping bag felt a little too soft, unlike the hard surface of your tent that you’ve grown so accustomed to, you haven’t laid in a sleeping bag since ‘the shit hit the fan’, as you called it. It seemed more appropriate than calling it ‘the apocalypse’, maybe because you never imagined the apocalypse to be so goddamn ugly, bloody and smelly.
You decided to sit up, knowing that you won’t fall asleep anytime soon. You knew that Jake was outside, but you didn’t know exactly what he was doing. You guessed he was running around camp or went to the forest to hang out- it was his first home, after all. He always came back to you by morning though, so you never worried. You suddenly heard the crackling of a fire and poked your head out your tent- it was Daryl. As soon as your head peeked out of the entrance of your tent, you felt Jake brush his snout against your cheek. He couldn’t sleep either, but didn’t leave to run around. He sat in front of your tent like a guardian, watching Daryl’s every move. You chuckled quietly, trying not to alert the man by the fire of your presence just yet. You studied him- his back was facing you, the wings on his leather vest were clearly visible. He was much bigger than you were- in every sense of the word. Taller, broader, heavier; in other words he was deadly to you, physically speaking. The man was like a puzzle, you couldn’t figure him out. He was watching you for God knows how long and you never even noticed, left you a gift, convinced Rick to take you in, yet he never spoke to you unless you were the one to engage conversation. He seemed rough around the edges but had a strange tenderness to him, and from what you’ve heard from the group, you were the only one to see it.
Deciding to stand up, you stretched a little and made your way over to him and decided to speak first, as not to startle him. “Hey”
His head whipped around to look at you and simply nodded in response, his dark hair falling over his icy eyes. He stared at you, waiting for you to say something else.
“Mind if I join? I can’t sleep” you kneeled next to Jake and gave the foxes’ head a small pat, awaiting Daryl’s response. He looked into your eyes but quickly shifted his gaze on something else and hummed in response. You smiled and took a seat on the opposite side of the small campfire, deciding it’s best to let him have his space. A few minutes of silence passed, you were sure Daryl didn’t mind it but sitting across from him and staring at the fire, occasionally looking up at him felt a bit uncomfortable to you. You cleared your throat and noticed his gaze shift from the fire to you.
“Not to seem ungrateful or anything” you began with a nervous chuckle, “but why did you help me out? Not just in the forest, yesterday too. You helped convince Rick to let me stay.” You grabbed a stick and poked the fire causing embers to fly up into the dark sky. Both you and Daryl took notice of Jake jumping up and trying to catch one in his mouth before it disappeared. Daryl let out a small snort that was gone before you could take it in- it was a completely new sound.
“Didn’t want him to go” he motioned to the fox with a tiny smirk, causing you to giggle. He cleared his throat and continued, which surprised you- this was your first real conversation, even if it was just about Jake. “He do any tricks?”
“Yeah, a couple actually. He can bite your face off if you keep treating him like a dog,” you gave him a playful smile, he returned the favor and mumbled something along the lines of ‘lil’ bastard’ and you went on “or my personal favorite. You got an empty can?” He looked at you with confusion, raising his eyebrows but didn’t say anything as he picked up an empty can of beans from the grass behind the log he was sitting on and threw it to you. You caught it and placed it on the damp grass near your foot, in front of Jake. He instantly put his snout inside, getting stuck.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: Mother Nature’s perfect killing machine” you announced in between chuckles and heard Daryl snort again. He smiled and shook his head while you took the can off Jake’s face. “And before you ask, I have no idea why he does that” you added while ruffling his fur lovingly. Before long, silence fell between you once again, but it was more comfortable this time. You didn’t expect any more conversation from the man- you were surprised with how much you got already, anyway. He looked at you, his face illuminated by the warm glow of the flames. Daryl’s expression was unreadable, it frustrated you that you couldn’t figure out what was going on in his head. He leaned over, resting his elbows on his knees and spoke up.
“Who ‘ere you with before us?” his low voice now sounded more gravelly than usual, he didn’t look at you. Your breath caught in your throat- you have never spoken to anyone about your previous group. Just now, you realized how much you missed them. If it weren’t for Jake and the others, you wouldn’t be where you were right now. They were the ones who taught you to survive, the ones who took you in when all seemed hopeless, they were family. They were family and when you were attacked, you didn’t even fight, you just ran. You realized your eyes were tearing up and looked at the man with nothing but shame, guilt and despair. He couldn’t see you like this, you didn’t want him to pity you or look at you differently, so you stood up. His eyes followed you, he shook his head gently to get the hair out of his face. He glanced at you apologetically, thinking he must’ve done or said something wrong. He didn’t realize you weren’t ready to open up yet.
“Alright” you chuckled sadly, trying to lighten the mood and change the subject, “It’s late, you’d better go to sleep. Jake and I will take watch”
Daryl gently shook his head and eyed you, the pressure of his gaze being much for you in that moment. You turned your back to him and pretended to look up at the star-filled sky. In reality, you tried to hold back the tears forming in your eyes. You didn’t realize that opening up would be so difficult. Deciding its best to hide from the man for the time being, you stepped into your tent. Daryl saw you fumble and shuffle inside, he couldn’t believe that you actually complied. His attention turned back to the fire, he picked up a stick from the ground and began poking the burning wood with it before his head shot up when he heard you step out of the tent with something under your arm- it was too dark to make out what it was. You stepped towards Daryl and sat beside him, your eyes now red and puffy but dry. Wordlessly, you placed the item you were holding in his lap- your sleeping bag. Daryl furrowed his eyebrows and gently touched the soft makeshift mattress with his fingers.
“Can’t sleep on it, it’s too soft for me” you looked at him, hoping he would understand. You saw something change in his eyes when the words left your mouth, like the light he had while joking with you earlier died out completely. Your mouth turned into a thin line, trying your best to give him a smile but you were sure it came out more like a sad-puppy-look than a friendly grin. Enough was enough, you were just making him pity you more. You were an enigma to him- like a puzzle piece from a completely different box. Despite going through the unimaginable, things that you couldn’t even share with him, you never failed to give him that damn smile. The smile that made him wonder whether rescuing you was a good idea- you were dangerous. Not literally, Daryl knew you couldn’t and wouldn’t hurt him. The way you made him feel was dangerous but most of all, it was completely new and utterly confusing. You were like an elusive animal; afraid only when you absolutely needed to be, defensive yet so trusting, so warm and it frustrated him. He could usually read people like open books, but you were the only exception.
You stood up and didn’t miss the way Daryl’s eyes flickering between your face and the sleeping bag in his lap. Jake followed you to the tent, but you stilled before you entered.
“Goodnight, Daryl”
You woke up to Jake’s squeaks and growls coming from outside your tent, growling as you sat up and stretched. Your eyes landed on a small roll right outside of your tent- your sleeping bag. A heavy sigh left your mouth, but you couldn’t even pretend to be mad.
“Stubborn asshole”, you didn’t even notice the smile forming on your face while you cursed Daryl out. You crouched, trying to get out of the tent and almost falling over in the process. The damn thing was small. Once you managed to get out, Jake greeted you, jumping up and standing on his hind legs, his front paws resting on your stomach. You leaned down to press him into yourself gently. “Good morning to you, too. C’mon, let’s go say hi to everyone else.”
When you made your way to the group’s campground, Glenn, Dale, Carl and Maggie walked up to you to greet you while the rest said their hello’s from their seats. You were happy to see them, glad they didn’t disappear overnight. Shit. Last night’s conversation with Daryl hit you harder than you’d thought. The group was having breakfast around a campfire- theirs was much bigger than the one Daryl made. You stared at them, wondering whether you should join. Jake sniffed the air and made it clear he smelled the meat cooking over the fire.
“Are you going to stand there and stare at us or are you gonna join?” Glenn chuckled and bumped Maggie’s shoulder with his own, “Seriously, it’s kinda creepy.”
You apologized and offered them a sheepish smile while taking a seat in between Carl and Maggie. Everyone looked up at you from time to time, which you brushed off- they were probably just curious about Jake, who sat in the space between you and Carl. Maybe they were worried he would attack Carl?
“Alright, what’s up? Now you guys are the ones being creepy.” If you had to take one more weird look, you’d probably die. Or bury yourself underground.
“You’re uh…” Rick began and fumbled over his own words, “there’s a working shower in the house.” Great, Rick. He pointed it out in front of everyone. You were about to get mad but you took a look at yourself for the first time in forever, examining your clothes- they were covered in dirt and grime, not to mention that your face and arms had dried blood all over them.
“Patricia can wash your clothes!” Maggie chimed in, clearly uncomfortable with the silence that fell upon the group. “Eat something and go wash up, I’ll get you some of my clothes for the time being”
You were perfectly content with waiting for Patricia to wash your clothes, hell, you didn’t mind washing them yourself but decided to take the offer- it was a luxury, after all.
Dale cleared his throat and handed you a paper plate with two pieces of meat on it. You thanked him with a smile and gratefully took the food. Without thinking, you grabbed the larger piece and gave it to Jake, watching as he carefully took it from your hand with his teeth while you began chewing your own piece. The taste was familiar, you’ve eaten that meat before. Was it…
“Squirrel?” you asked and noticed Rick staring at you. Dale simply nodded and looked at you with nothing but confusion painted on his face. You were being stared at again. You couldn’t help but chuckle. “What did I do now?”
“I’m pretty sure both of those were for you” Rick smirked and you dipped your head. You couldn’t imagine eating and not sharing it with Jake.
“He’s hungrier than I am” you reassured him with a grin and pat the fox between his ears. Suddenly, something hit you. There’s only one person who can catch squirrels in this group and he wasn’t there.
“Where’s Daryl? There’s no squirrel without Daryl.” It was a joke, but you couldn’t help but worry about him. He was up all night and he went out, he must’ve been exhausted. Maggie smirked and tried to suppress a snort but didn’t manage to. You weren’t sure whether she was laughing at your joke or at how worried you were, but decided to believe it was the former.
“He’s out looking for Sophia, he should be back soon.” Lori tried to sound reassuring but it didn’t make you worry any less. You tried your best not to show your anxiety, the group probably didn’t know why you’d be worried about him. They were asleep while he took watch, making sure everyone was safe.
“I’m going on a run later today. You wanna join?” Maggie asked, kneeling in front of you. You felt Jake tense at how close she got. You didn’t expect it- they trusted you instantly, while they had no reason to. You couldn’t believe it, but you quickly accepted the offer.
Once you finished your meal, you headed to the house to take your fist shower since the apocalypse began. Of course there was the occasional bath in a river or lake but nothing could compete with a warm shower, with soap too. Maggie led you to the bathroom and smiled at you before you shut the door.
“New clothes will be right outside the door on the floor!” her voice was muffled through the closed door. You shouted back a quick ‘thank you!’ before you were about to step in the shower, but something stopped you. A mirror. You looked in the reflection and didn’t recognize the person staring back at you. Your once lively eyes were now sunken down. Your cheekbones were more visible and your hair was matted and tangled. You found a brush in one of the drawers and began combing it out as quickly as you could- the shower couldn’t come soon enough. Once you were done working on your hair, you stepped into the cold, ceramic bathtub and smiled as you turned the tap and felt warm water wash over you. It was an incredible feeling- the blood and gore washing off your skin, cleansing you of the horrors outside of the farm. You ran your hands along your once smooth skin- it was now bumpy and covered with scars. They were nothing but reminders of the battles you’ve won. The pleasant smell of raspberry-scented soap filled your lungs. It was sweet and reminded you of the world before everything fell apart; sweet and tender, but stung like hell if it got into your eyes.
You closed your eyes and simply enjoyed the moment. It felt purifying. All of the pain, sorrow and grief washing off you and disappearing in the drain. The only thing the warm water couldn’t wash off was the moss that grew on your heart, almost engulfing it whole. Love was a tricky thing, it always was, but in this world it was even worse. You were unable to bring yourself to open up to the group about who you were with before, even about your pitiful life before the ‘shit hit the fan’. You didn’t want to think about your disgusting past relationships, the men you were with being the reason as to why you flinched and ducked whenever someone raised their hand at you or touched you without announcing themselves first. You only allowed yourself to cry in moments like these- alone and comfortable, always afraid of people seeing you cry. Perhaps that’s why you and Jake bonded almost instantly- your hearts were covered in moss.
You quickly opened the bathroom door and dragged your new clothes in. It was a nice outfit; a black tank top and a pair of jeans that was cut with scissors to be knee-length, along with a well-fitted black leather jacket. A smile crept up on your face when you saw yourself in the foggy mirror- you at least resembled your old self now.
Maggie was already waiting for you on the porch, sitting on the steps and smiled at you when you emerged from the door.
“Ya ready to go?” her head swung toward you while she pushed herself up from the steps, standing up. You nodded in response but quickly stiffened, remembering something,
“Can he come along?” you motioned towards Jake, who was standing by your side. Maggie shifted, her eyes flickering between you and your fox companion. She was clearly unsure and she had every reason to be- it was a wild animal. But that wild animal was insistent on following you and making sure you were okay; you did the same for him.
“We’re gonna go on horses, though.” She looked at you sheepishly and awaited your response
“That’s perfect, actually! He could use a good run” you kneeled down next to Jake, who instantly began pacing around you, brushing his fiery fur against you. “Sure has a lot of pent up energy”
You couldn’t remember the last time you rode a horse- it was long before the apocalypse even began. The animal was big, if it decided to buck you off- it would. Thankfully, you were good with animals. The horse seemed calm as it walked beside Maggie’s. It was exceptionally quiet for a while. The only sounds echoing through the empty streets of the abandoned countryside town was the rhythmic hitting of hooves against the hard concrete. Jake trotted along, not needing to run as you weren’t going fast. He clearly enjoyed going out on runs, he was the most adventurous fox you’ve ever met. The only fox you’ve ever met, actually, but you were sure other foxes weren’t this energetic or upbeat. The only weapon you carried was a hunting knife that you borrowed from Rick, who refused to let you go without any way of protecting yourself. Your goal was a small grocery store that was boarded up, which meant it probably wasn’t looted yet. Maggie clearing her throat brought you back from your thoughts.
“So, what’s up with you and Daryl?” she chimed cheerfully. You almost fell off the horse, but quickly composed yourself . What in the hell did she mean? Instead of answering her question, you decided to retort,
“What’s up with you and Glenn, huh?” you sent her a wink and noticed her roll her eyes with a small smile. There definitely was something going on with the two- they came in a bundle. If Maggie was doing laundry, Glenn suddenly decided to help her out. If Glenn was taking watch, Maggie magically appeared near him within minutes.
“Oh, c’mon.” She dismissed your question. Fair, you did the same to her. “If any of us tried to set up camp near the one and only Dixon we’d probably get an arrow in the ass” she laughed and you smiled, but still didn’t understand. If what she was saying was true- why did he let you set your tent up next to his? “Not to mention, he watched you for how long? A week?”
You couldn’t help but let out a throaty chuckle. Daryl was one confusing man.
“Yeah, that one was creepy as shit” you said, giggling like a schoolgirl and looking down, suddenly unable to meet her gaze.
The store was mostly clear of walkers, say for a couple squished together in a bathroom. You and Maggie swiftly took care of them and began looting the store. It was quite intact, with the majority of supplies untouched. You swiped as many cans as you could off the shelves, letting them drop in your duffle bag. Once you packed as much food as you could, you decided to take a look around the remaining aisles. There wasn’t anything of interest- some long expired lotions, condoms and sunglasses. You were about to leave the store with Maggie when you saw something in the corner of your eye. A sketchbook. You smiled a toothy grin and looked at Jake who was busy sniffing every shelf he came across. Quickly shoving the sketchbook in your already-full bag, you bumped Maggie’s shoulder with your own to signal her that you’re ready to leave.
The ride home was pleasant and the scenery was quite beautiful. The sky was turning a pinkish-orange color, the setting sun began giving everything an incredible orange glow. Everything looked more alive, even the abandoned stores and houses. Jake’s fur, which usually looked fiery, now looked like it was ablaze- he looked like a living flame.
When you arrived at the farm, the sky still had that beautiful glow to it. The farm looked like something out of a fairytale. You hopped off your horse and gave it a pat, leading it to the stables with Maggie. Once the horses were in place, you turned to Maggie.
“What did you mean? Earlier, about Daryl?” you stuttered, unsure if you should be asking the question.
“What I mean, (Y/N),” she put a hand on your shoulder and smiled at you brightly. It wasn’t the same smile she gave you when she asked about Daryl on the way to the store- this one was warm, inviting, yet still playful. Quickly, it turned into a smirk, “Daryl isn’t exactly easy to seduce”
What? Seducing Daryl was the last thing on your mind- all you wanted was someone you could trust, someone who would understand you. That person just so happened to be him- maybe because he was the one to save you, maybe because you were both like wild animals, maybe because he liked Jake. You smirked at that last thought and shook your head.
“Maggie” you looked deep into her eyes, placing both of your hands on her shoulders, “Even if I wanted to, I’m about as seductive as a cabbage” Maggie let out an unflattering snort and playfully hit your arm with her fist. You were unsure what to make of the exchange- did you really seem like all you wanted was flirting with Daryl? Just because he let his walls down a little for you didn’t mean anything. He probably felt comfortable around you because he saw how you were in the forest and felt like he knew you already; you can tell a lot about a person solely by their actions, afterall.
“Do I really seem like I just want to get in his pants?” you sighed and looked down in genuine sadness. You just needed a friend. When Maggie noticed how serious you got, her eyes dropped and her voice suddenly became soft, just above a whisper.
“I was kidding, I’m sorry.” She smiled a sad, uncertain smile and went on, “He just acts different around you, that’s all.” Her words made you think. You didn’t know how exactly he acted around others. Of course, he respected Rick and could be an asshole to the group from time to time, but how different could he be around you? This man gave you a headache, no matter how much time you spent thinking about what he’s thinking, you could never guess.
You nodded at Maggie and made your way out of the barn- you needed some fresh air. Deciding it was best to stay away from others to think, you headed to the only place you could think of- the very campfire you were sitting by with Daryl last night. Once you took a seat on a log, you stared into space, your hand stroking Jake’s fur from time to time. Maggie’s words echoed in your head, like someone shouted inside a tunnel, the echo repeating itself constantly. Maybe you should give the man space, maybe you shouldn’t get too close. Last time you did that, people died. All you wanted to know was what was behind those steel-blue eyes. You also decided to apologize to him for last night; he probably didn’t care much but you still felt guilty for brushing him off like that. Suddenly, Jake shot up and turned around, standing still and not moving an inch. Your head whipped back to see what spooked him so bad and saw the very man that you were thinking about. He was covered in small cuts and bruises, probably from running through thorn-covered bushes. His gaze was soft, friendly. Exactly like the one you saw last night when you so casually conversed with him. You stood up, about to say hello, about to apologize. You had to hold yourself back from hugging him- you were glad he made it back in one piece. You opened your mouth to speak but closed it when he kneeled and began shuffling around in his backpack, clearly looking for something. He wasn’t sure whether he should say something or not, maybe he should apologize for prying yesterday. He was definitely not a people person. Deciding it’s best to just let his action speak for him, he pulled out a familiar item out his backpack. Was it-
“Found yer knife. Apology for yesterday” He looked at you with that undecipherable look he had. You were baffled- what was he apologizing for?
“What the hell? Thank you so much!” you took the knife from his hands, “I was about to apologize myself. Sorry for brushing you off like that.” You smiled at him and, deciding to be brave, hit his arm with your fist gently. “Did you cut yourself so bad with my knife?” you gestured towards the many cuts on his face and the ones on his hands and arms, “Thought you were good with blades” You smirked at him. He scoffed and hopped over the log you were previously sat on and took a seat.
“Ya can bet ‘m better than ya"

Some thoughts on Diverged
I don't know what those reviewers were talking about. This was a great episode. Am I biased because I love Carol? Maybe. Probably. But when I checked the time half way through I was happy there was still 20 minutes left. I didn't want it to end.
Some of the good stuffs in no particular order below the cut because spoilers:
The book she finds in his room is about pirates and in ep 10.1 she tells him they should run away together on the boat and "be pirates, heck yeah". Very cute nod to that.
Carol swears a lot and I love it. She says "see you later asshole" to the rat and then Daryl says the same thing to the walkers and I was like listen you two, stop pretending you aren't basically the same soul in different bodies. Stop being idiots.
Carol and dog hang out on her bed and she says "You miss him don't you?" and then "I miss him, too" and my heart ya'll. He was harsh to her last episode and she still misses him. That's love. She also tells the dog maybe she should 'just scram and get out of everyone's hair' but in the end she never goes. Daryl was harder than he should have been but his words stuck and he was right even if the delivery was wrong, she runs too much. I get the feeling that's for sure in the past for her.
Her saying to the dog that his room "smells like Daryl" and “for the record I didn’t even need an apology” cracked me up. She was so mad. Throwing jabs when he's not around. You tell him girl.
She's trying so hard to hold it together this whole ep and her facial expressions and reactions were, yes a little awkward, but that's the point. She's lost at the moment and that bleeds right through on her face as she tries and fails to think of anything except the dude she's still mad at. How she's struggling is different from how we usually see Carol and I think that's a good thing.
That convo with Jerry where he wouldn't fucking stop bringing up Ezeki@l I could have done without but what I did like was that Carol didn't give two fucks. Jerry was very hung up on EZ and clearly worried about him and wanted to commiserate and Carol was just like....can we talk about MY situation with Daryl instead please and thanks? She was way too in her head about Daryl to hear anything about zeke. Also liked that Jerry knew she was upset about Daryl and that's why he hugged her.
Basically this is how that scene went:
Jerry: zeke? zekezekezekezezezzekeomgmybffisgone will he come back? i miss him. is he dead? are you worried too? i am. you wanna know what he'd say right now? ill tell you.
Carol: I'm sorry but can you fucking focus? We're talking about me and daryl.
Moving on....
Daryl telling Carol to keep Leah's knife? Perfect. When I watched it I felt like he was also letting go of Leah on some level, too. He's already moved on for the most part, but this was a last bit he needed to let go, and then later when I watched Talking Dead the writer confirmed that.
The military walkers Daryl ran into are totally part of Leah's group, I see it coming a mile away, and on TD the guest speculated that they could be "part of some other group close by?" and the writer gave him a thumbs up. Then they showed a bunch of tidbits where they basically threw it in our faces that Leah's knife initials pointed to a military background. If she's not a reaper I'll be fucking shocked.
I wish Caryl would have talked more. I do. I feel like the only reason they didn't is because they are saving the big talk for 11. Otherwise Daryl absolutely would have apologized at the end there.
The way Daryl paused, waiting to see if Carol would come after him at the end or say anything else made me want to hit him upside the head. Just go after HER dude. You know you wanna.
These two, I swear.
Feels like they are pretty much where they left off at the end of 17, which is what I expected. I never thought there'd be a huge talk or declaration of feelings yet so not bothered by that. I think this ep is another step in the road toward canon. Could it have been MORE? Yes. They still have a bad habit of writing things too ambiguously and I fear that's gonna be par for the course right up until the second they lock lips somewhere in 11. This stupid show won't give it away until it literally happens, they will just keep laying down breadcrumbs to follow the trail.
Anyway, I loved the ep. Don't go into it expecting some huge revelation, but a lot of little moments that are well done and I think do point to caryl. Though be aware that they aren’t as obvious as I hoped. (but her “i miss him too” to the dog was chef’s kiss)
Glad I watched it and I'll be watching again on Sunday, too. The reviewers can suck it. Best episode ever? No. A great ep if you love carol and caryl? Yes.

Bad
Daryl Dixon x Plus size!reader
Word Count: 1572 words
Warnings: none
Summary: Daryl finally coming to terms with the truth, some saviors aren’t that bad.
——————————————————————————————————
You and Daryl didn’t get along.
Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that you were a savior, or perhaps it was about the fact that you had been there while Dwight was torturing him.
In all honesty, you had no idea what the real reason was but no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn’t change the fact that you two were working together now.
Rick had it in his head that everyone could live together, to build a better future, and a bridge.
The simple fact was that you couldn’t get away from each other if you wanted to. However, there were brief moments where you found yourselves on the same side, whether you liked it or not.
Aaron losing his arm was one of those times.
Those logs falling were the result of a panic by one of your men, who was more scared of a herd than doing what had to be done. If he hadn’t done what he’d done, Aaron never would have been trapped under that tree.
If he had just taken a moment to tighten the straps down, it would have all been fine but he didn’t.
No one ever did as they were supposed to and that resulted in a major catastrophe, during which you found yourself fighting side-by-side with Daryl.
Now, it was nothing to write home about really. Where the dead were concerned, it didn’t matter where you came from. It was the one common enemy you all shared.
However, when it came to being there when Enid severed Aaron’s arm without pain killers and directly on top of the smashed bone, that was a little different.
You stayed the entire time.
You didn’t have to and really, you had no real business being there, but that didn’t change that you were. You helped as Enid frantically read the pages of the notes Saddiq had left her and tried to find the right tools.
All in all, she was amazing but more amazing than that was the fact that you actually managed to get along with their people for once.
...And that wasn’t even all.
Once you’d finished and you were content with the fact that Aaron was going to live and Enid wasn’t going to drive herself to a panic attack, you went off in search of Justin.
You knew as well as anyone that asshole was responsible for this.
His only job was to radio in if there was a problem and set the second signal to drive the herd in the right direction. If that hadn’t happened, it was because he’d made a choice.
...And that wasn’t going to fly with you.
You were just as happy about this whole arrangement as they were but at least you didn’t make stupid choices to get back at them.
Did Justin really think that doing something like that was going to make any difference? A single man couldn’t change what was going on.
No matter what you did, Negan was locked away and the sanctuary in which you’d been living was long gone. It seemed simple, that was just what it was.
You didn’t buy into the perfect unified future that Rick was selling but you knew better than to put everyone in danger just to prove it.
Only an idiot would do that.
“What did you do? Do you have any idea what you did today?” you yelled, the words escaping your lips through gritted teeth. It was no secret that he thought this whole thing was a joke.
Frankly, he wasn’t wrong but this was too far.
“People could have died because of what you did, you asshole!”
You were content to just continue yelling at him for being such a jerk, but that wasn’t enough for Daryl who had caught up to you after leaving Enid.
He took it one step further, shoving the man out of the tent into the dirt. You were sure that would be all, he was feeling the anger and heat from what had just happened to Aaron but it wouldn’t go farther than that.
Right?
Wrong.
You were very wrong.
When you reached the outside of the tent, you found Daryl quite literally on top of the man, beating his face into the dirt.
It wasn’t much less than what you expected from him and really, it was all you’d been planning to do yourself but from him, it was a bit much.
He wasn’t one of you, and he certainly wasn’t going to help the situation by giving him a black eye.
“Hey! Hey! Hey! Let me handle this” you urged, doing your very best to get Daryl off the other man. If you let this go on for much longer, you couldn’t be sure he wouldn’t kill him, not that it would matter.
You didn’t give a shit whether the man kept breathing or not, as you didn’t have any loyalties to him just because he was a savior.
That wasn’t enough anymore.
“Let you handle it? Why would I let you handle it?” He grumbled, practically spitting in your face when he turned his attention toward you but it did enough to get him off Justin.
It was fair enough.
However, it wasn’t enough to just break up the fight. For some reason, Daryl’s words had opened up a whole other can of worms and you weren’t just going to let it go.
Instead, you decided to just follow him toward where he was walking, in the direction of the bridge.
“What did you mean back there? When you asked why you’d let me handle it? He’s my people, not yours” you asked, genuine curiosity forcing your hand.
You knew that Daryl didn’t owe you anything, and never would but you couldn’t help yourself.
You’d been spending an awful lot of time together recently and no matter what you did, that wasn’t going to change. Everyone here was united by one thing, and that was their hatred of one another.
It was only natural that you had a few questions for a man who clearly spared no feelings for you.
“Your people? Nah, your people are dead” he scoffed, throwing a single look over his shoulder toward you. It wasn’t one of any kind of concern or care, if nothing else, it was disinterest.
Not that you could blame him.
He had a point, not in the way Rick wanted him to, but a point nonetheless. Right now, you were all in a strange limbo, where no one knew where they belonged.
There were no Saviors, no citizens of Hilltop, no Alexandrians.
You were all just people.
“I get it, Justin’s an asshole but we aren’t all like that” you tried, a slightly defensive tone in your voice. You weren’t sure why but for some reason, you didn’t want him to think you were just another animal.
You’d just been living in a different place than he had, doing what you had to do to survive. Personally, you were pretty sure that anyone would have done the same in your place.
Many of the saviors were adapting just fine to life among the other groups, but the few that weren’t were going to cause problems for everyone else.
“Whatever, I’ll believe it when I see it”
All you could do was sigh. There was nothing you could do to convince him that you weren’t bad, and until he opened up to you, that wasn’t going to change.
~
Daryl didn’t want to believe what you’d said.
He didn’t want you to think about what was going on with all of you or what the future could hold for you. Most of all though, he didn’t want to think about whether or not you were right.
After everything they’d been through and all that Negan had done to them, he didn’t want to believe that there could be any good in any of the Saviors.
...But that wasn’t an option.
It wasn’t possible that every single person who had been living under the Sanctuary roof was a bad person, no matter how badly he wanted to believe that.
You hadn’t been around much since the two of you had the conversation but you did come to check in on Aaron pretty frequently.
For someone who didn’t want to spend time with anyone who weren’t her people, and for who he assumed was a heartless savior, you did seem to care a lot.
“What are you doing here?” Daryl asked, approaching you outside the medical tent. It had been perfect timing that brought you together, with you leaving your daily check on Enid and him just beginning his.
It was little more than a coincidence, but that was all you had anymore. You had to grasp on to the little things, and by those standards, Rick was right.
Maybe you could all live together, eventually?
“I figured I’d bring Enid and Aaron some fresh water on my break, is that okay with you?” You questioned, shaking the empty jug you’d brought with you as proof.
Every word out of Daryl’s mouth sounded like a trick question but you both knew the truth. If you were really as bad as he thought you were, you wouldn’t have bothered to come.
...And it didn’t matter what you had to do to prove that to him, you weren’t giving up that easy.

Rating CM Couples Because I’m Bored
*I think I put everyone that I can remember in here but if I'm forgetting someone, let me know!*
A/N: these are in no specific order and yes I know you didn’t ask for this but too bad :) also spoilers are in there if you have’t seen the whole thing!
----
Aaron and Haley
The high school sweethearts storyline was cute
Great parents
I still think she was cheating, it was a little shady that her phone rang right after he got off the landline
“Make sure he knows you weren’t always so serious” or whatever she said was sweet
Her death didn’t cause tears but seeing Hotch cry out her death did cause tears
Feel like her storyline could have ended better, they didn’t really need to kill her but they did it for the ✨razzle dazzle✨
Maybe they could have gotten a divorce and been great co-parents
Overall: 8/10 (her dying was a shitty end)
Gideon and Sarah (the lady from the cabin)
Very short storyline
She made him happy
The dance scene in the cabin in Fisher King pt.1 was adorable
Would have like to seen more of her
Overall: 10/10 (they were the least problematic couple)
JJ and Will
Love them
Will is non-problematic (stan him for clear skin)
Their family is adorable
He’s a great father (literally put his job on hold and moved states for her to continue her job after Henry)
She could have definitely treated him better
Could have included their other kid more, it’s always about Henry
Will is always about JJ, JJ tends to wander ? (the je*d situation)
Overall: 7/10 (cause of the je*d situation and they could have made the storyline better)
Spencer and Mauve
Again, short and shitty storyline
There was so much more that could have been done here (like maybe let him be happy for once??)
In suspense for the longest time about the secret phone calls and when Mauve was finally introduced, we got like 2 minutes of proper screen time with her
Their little dance was cute
Her death was absolute bullshit
She tells Spencer that she loves him on the phone and he's in shock so he doesn't say it back, then she hangs up
When he finally sees her in person, she’s minutes away from her death
He had to tell her that he didn’t love her even thought he did (at least it seemed like he did)
Bringing her back in season 15 was nice so we had some closure ?? (but why was she blonde ? they have hair salons in heaven ??)
Overall: 6/10 (hated the way it ended :( )
Derek and Savannah
Savannah was the perfect woman for Derek. She’s smart, has a good job with a weird schedule (like his), not to mention gorgeous
But making him settle down with the first woman he really showed interest in, didn't make sense
If he had a previous relationship that didn’t work and then introduced Savannah, it would have made sense
They were well suited, personality and looks wise
Would have liked to seen their wedding
He got married and we didn’t even get to see it :(
The way their storyline ended was a mess ??
He gets kidnapped and when she gets him back, she gets shot and they almost lose the baby, then Morgan almost gets himself killed again and barely got back in time for the birth
Overall: 8/10 (could have been better written but they were cute)
Matt and Kristy
Unproblematic favs
King and Queen shit
Great parents
Love love love their storyline, from CMBB to CM, it was all around good
They’re both hot and educated
I don’t understand where they had make to make a 5th kid when he’s never home, she’s a lawyer (that has to be time consuming) and 4 children to take care of
Their love as always on display, seen the rawest version of it in 13x19
Overall: 10/10 (love them)
Penelope and Kevin
The shower scene when Rossi went to her apartment was the peak scandalous moment for them
Her wants and needs were too much for him to handle
She was super independent and he wanted her to do what he wants in a way
The whole marriage plot was dropped real quick
He wanted a farm ?? (if I remember correctly) and she didn’t want that
The end of their relationship was weird
They had that moment at JJ and Will’s wedding and then that was it ?? He kinda just vanished after ?
Overall: 5/10 (average couple)
Derek and Penelope
Top tier
Would have be a power couple if they got together (already a power couple but would have officially been one)
The way they look at each other
The way the protect each other, especially him with her
They’re in love you can’t tell me otherwise
If they weren’t in love, why would he come back to the BAU and only see her ?
They probably hooked up on the lows
There was a lot of potential here
“You’re my god given solace” 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Overall: 10/10 (my favourites!!)
Spencer and Derek
Cute cute cute
That’s been there since day one
They always had a playful relationship but Derek was always protecting him, no matter what
Although Spencer wasn't physically capable of defending, he still tried in his own way
Their relationship has grown a lot since season 1
“we’ll be bound together through space and time and some day, in another life, we will meet again” “I'll be waiting for you” like come on, in love.
there was a lot of potential here too
Overall: 9/10 (-1 cause it didn’t actually happen)
Aaron and Emily
Could definitely see the tension between them
There was 100% chemistry there
They both think alike, they’re very critical thinkers which for obvious reasons wouldn’t have works
Would have been cute tho
In 4x03, you could see the worry on his face when she was inside. It was more than a boss/subordinate worry, he genuinely cares about her
Overall: 7/10 (could have been better)
JJ and Spencer
Would have maybe made sense if they introduced it season 1-2
Didn’t make sense after she was married and had 2 kids
The confession she gave him felt forced (under the circumstances, they were but still)
The awkwardness after was weird, like you’re telling me the team and Will didn’t pick up on it at he wedding ?
Overall: -1/10 (je*d)
Tara and Daryl
The moments they had were sweet afterwards like their hug
They both had grown a lot since their marriage
It was very mature of her to be happy for him after they split (she’s cool like that)
Very short storyline
Overall: 6/10 (they were very normal)
JJ and Emily
Elite
Would have a power couple if the writers had actually put them together
should have confessed to Spencer that she loved Emily and not him
All their moments were adorable
Hot moms and Co parent Will (would have been so cute)
Overall: 9/10 (power couple)
Emily and Andrew
Short storyline
Kinda pointless ?
Felt super last minute and rushed
Their dinner date was cute
Overall: 5/10 (they were eh, could have been written better)
Luke and Lisa
They were cute
Again a very short storyline
She was very determined to make Luke talk about his feelings (kinda pointless ?? he’d talk when he as ready)
Should have called it quits after Phil died
Wasn’t needed to drag it along, but they did and we didn’t even see her?? They just kept mentioning her
Overall: 6/10 (average couple)
Luke and Penelope
Adorable
Would have loved to see this storyline start earlier
Maybe get to see the date ??
Their little flirting/bantering was cute
There was definitely chemistry there
Overall: 8/10 (super cute)
Spencer and Max
This felt so rushed
She was there for 2 episodes
Dragging her into the Cat plot was shit
It was nice to see him happy tho
Would have liked to seen her nephew again, he was funny
Overall: 5/10 (didn't really like this)
Aaron and Beth
This was cute
They made each other happy
She was good with Jack
Understanding about his job (unlike miss haley 🙄)
Would have to seen this go somewhere else
Her taking the job in Hong Kong was just a shitty end for their relationship
Overall: 7/10 (could have ended better, at least she didn’t die)
Rossi and Carolyn
This was sweet
Her death was sad, it was clear he still cared about her
She was only there for like 2-3 (??) episodes
Overall: 6/10 (unproblematic but normal)
Rossi and Hayden
This was also cute
Joy was the only good thing from this marriage ??
Them dating for like half a minute was weird
Making Rossi say that racist ass comment after he was literally married to beautiful woman of colour was stupid
Overall: 6/10 (average couple)
Rossi and Krystall
Loved them together
Their little sneaky links were hilarious
Miss Krystall is a bad bitch
She’s super supportive
Overall: 8/10 (my favourites out of Rossi’s wives)
Rossi and Strauss
Hilarious together, it was cute
Rossi was always on her ass, he did what he wanted
Her death was kinda shitty, Rossi cared about her tho
Reid and Garcia bumping into him and then seeing her was funny
Overall: 6/10 (ended badly)

My thoughts on Episode 6--On the Inside
Very appropriate title by the way. Works in a multitude of ways.
As always, my randomness is going beneath a cut again to spare the eyeballs of those of you that don’t want to see it at all and also? Help those of you that have somehow stayed spoiler-free in this brand-new age of early release episodes. It is still so wild to me that I’m a full episode ahead of half the fandom. I don’t know what I’m going to do when we get to the final episode and they decide to make us all suffer together--because somehow I do feel they will do exactly that after spoiling us for the first 23 episodes. It is going to be agonizing.
Anyway. Without further ado, Shae’s stream of consciousness review (of sorts).
Not fair, Angela. Opening the episode with that shot of that big ass spider. I hate those suckers. So naturally, they’re an easy sell for setting the horror scene to me, lol.
Okay. Who the hell’s chasing Virgil and Connie? Walker No-See-Ums?
Barely a minute in and the atmosphere for this episode is moody AF.
What is this? Tara Jr. The Walking Dead? LOL. Where’s the Scarlett for this mini plantation house? Anyway. First three minutes of this episode? Just as attention grabbing as the first five episode openings this season. I don’t think people out there are giving our writers enough love for that. Every episode so far has opened like a mini movie.
With the way the Walking Dead logo keeps crumbling away with each successive episode, somehow it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Carol and Daryl spinoff was eventually titled The Living and had flowers growing out of each letter, lol. I mean, there would be a certain sort of life-affirming symmetry in a show that’s been promised to be much lighter in tone doing just that.
More Carol and Aaron? Yes, please. I don’t necessarily like Carol staying at home and sitting the sidelines like a figurative happy little homemaker in the B story while the rest of the mains are trying like hell to sell the A story, but if she’s going to be totally prohibited from the main storyline until it’s time to blow shit up? I’m going to continue enjoy getting to see her do what she should have been doing for seasons--interacting with others in the community, especially Aaron and the ladies.
Truly. I really am loving my girl getting some quality Aaron and Rosita time. It’s so long overdue.
Bless sweet Kelly. Riding off to her sister’s rescue.
Why isn’t Lydia shown as part of these plans? For someone that could barely read last season, I doubt that big ass map was a piece of cake for her and it’s all just guesswork anyway without her guidance. I mean, why does it feel like they are cutting some of this stuff that might not seem like much plot-wise but would go a long way toward establishing different character beats? Personally, I would have loved to see her involved in the search and sharing scenes again with Carol and bonding with Kelly.
Virgil be having that “I always feel like somebody’s watching me” feeling. Don’t you hate that, lol?
“You haven’t slept in days.” But how many days, Virgil? I’m going to need a number because I’m confused AF about this timeline at this point. What we’re seeing and what different pieces of dialogue is telling us is not exactly lining up. I’m going to find it awful hilarious if it hasn’t even been two weeks since the cave in. For reasons.
Connie’s spidey senses are clearly tingling.
Alrighty, then. She’s clearly got PTSD. Understandable. They’ve all had it. Some have been treated more sympathetically than others, though.
I mean, it never seems to cross anybody’s mind how Carol probably sees Henry’s head on that pike, Mika’s pale and bloody body, Lizzie crumpled face down in a bed of yellow flowers, Sophia with a smoking bullet hole through her undead head whenever she closes her eyes but whatever.
Okay though. But what if Connie had really shitty, impossible to read handwriting? AKA doctor’s handwriting. What then?
Leah’s face honestly twists my insides whenever I see it, lol. It’s quiet a visceral thing. No, that does not make me a horrible person. Not everybody wants or has to drink the awesome, great, redeemable villainess Kool-Aid. IMHO, she’s got a face meant for a Walker. Perfect makeover idea. Eh. Mostly it’s her expression and the deadness of her eyes.
Anyway. Why is it always the fingers? Eff that.
Listen. If ya’ll can’t tell Daryl’s conflicted AF with the situation he’s landed in, you don’t know how to read NR’s face and eyes. He’s not a masterclass like MMB but he’s pretty darn good when he wants to be.
I honestly feel sorry for Redshirt Frost.
“You do what you gotta do.” Frost knows what’s what and he’s willing to walk the walk for Maggie. Impressive loyalty. I’m left wondering how the current, colder incarnation of Maggie inspired it because I’m still struggling to see it. Anywho. My point is the dude knows the score and just gave Daryl the okay.
Daryl taking off his angel vest before stepping into the role of torturer/interrogator=him shedding the persona/the man Judith and RJ and Lydia and Carol know him to be. Pushing away his man of honor status so he can just survive somehow.
Pope never quits chewing whatever the hell he’s got in his mouth. It’s kind of distracting.
Ohhh. We’re back to the Haunted Mansion. I mean house. Where are the Hitchhiking Ghosts?
All the eyes scratched out of those creepy pictures=spooky.
The good old fogged up bathroom mirror shot. Somebody’s been watching and studying their horror movies, lol. Not gonna lie though. I’m legit bracing myself for the jump scares I know have to be coming.
I’m loving the music/score in these scenes.
Truthfully, I could care less about these Reapers. But they are hella attractive, lol. Listen. Angela knows what she’s doing.
Kelly’s horse is so pretty. Prayer chain for that baby.
More dead horses? Why?
Connie’s slingshot? Sorry. I maintain, no matter how much I like these two, that they have the lamest weapons ever. Endless supply of Virginia rocks or not.
So. Did Virgil and Connie enjoy a little equine for dinner? Did they kill it before the Walkers fed? What monsters! Yeah, no. Not if they were starving even if I personally could not have. The more probable story is they fled the camp in a panic and left the horse behind and then it went down. Sorry. I didn’t exactly study the wounds on the poor animal because it is so traumatizing to me to continue to see them meet such dastardly ends on this show. I don’t know who the hell has such a score to settle with horses but stop it.
Days. It’s only been days. Not weeks. So many times with all that Daryl and Company have had to contend with since the cave in? Those do not exist, lol. They’re just a convenient, appeasing piece of dialogue thrown at a fanbase primed and ready to read everything into not much of anything. There’s just not been enough time for it to happen unless Daryl has literally been up 24/7 for all of them. You know, strategizing how to attack the remainders of Alpha’s horde, figuring out how to defend Hilltop before it fell, healing from the wound he sustained at Alpha’s hand, sitting on that log all damn night with Negan waiting on Carol to come home, having a lover’s quarrel with his best damn everything, taking care of the Grimes babies and Lydia, being the reluctant leader. Kang, why you playing them like that? Daryl’s a super guy but he’s not a superhuman with clones. So many times my ass.
Seriously. Who been watching Connie and Virgil? The MIA Oceansiders? Beta’s Fee Fi Fo Fum Ghost?
Nice. A Michonne mention. Maybe the truth will start to trickle out.
LMAO at Connie’s “I’m not staying here.” Me neither, girl. I would be outta that house so fast.
They really “Quiet Placing” this episode. Honestly? I’m kinda loving it.
WTF was that? I know she can’t hear but you telling me all the little hairs on her arms, legs, and neck didn’t stand the fuck up and say fuck this shit, I’m gone? Pardon my language, lovelies, but that moment had my heart kicking up several beats.
Okay, okay. To be fair to Connie, every hair on her body been doing that since the front door closed. Maybe they’re desensitized.
Gollum’s chasing Connie!!! He/She wants their Precious!!!
The knee jerk reactions about this episode sight unseen are OTT, honestly. And I mean no disrespect by saying that. I can understand completely where they’re coming from because we’ve been burned so long in this fandom. But it’s obvious the spoiler source has their particular biases and reads into things in such a way that don’t line up with what’s actually being shown onscreen. Daryl’s loyalty in this episode and all along quite clearly lies with his family and his community. He’s been playing Leah since the start and is truly just trying to survive somehow.
Awful thought. The Reaper that’s so suspish of Daryl--haven’t quite caught his name or really cared to. I feel like he might try to get to Daryl somehow. When he realizes that Daryl cares no more for Leah than any human would care for somebody (they thought) they used to know? He’s going after Dog. Or Carol should she finally join this story.
I refuse to believe Carol isn’t going to be a part of this story. Because they messing with her mans, lol.
“You’re ever with us or you’re not.” Now where have I heard those words before? I wish I could find that Daryl gif because that had to be one of the funniest things ever, lol.
Unrealistic suggestion to Daryl, Leah? Breathing oxygen seems to piss off Carver. Oh look. He finally has a name for me, lol.
I love how all three of the ladies--Carol, Magna, and Rosita--look at Kelly with such indulgent, adoring “little sis, you alright?” eyes.
They are seriously the most beautiful quartet of characters. I mean all of them are lovely but Carol and Rosita this season? Ugh. The unfairness of the pretty.
Human bones. Terminus callback, lovelies. How it all would have eventually gone down if Gareth and Co. hadn’t met the business end of Rick’s red machete.
So many horror movie homages in this one.
Virgil’s like “let’s leave this Texas Chainsaw Massacre behind.”
Connie and Virgil have obviously bonded, ya’ll. I’m surprised by how much I’m enjoying their scenes together when the character mostly got on my nerves with Michonne. He’s a good actor and the core of his character is sympathetic, but I’m not going to lie. I wasn’t super enthused when he was the one that rescued Connie because I didn’t know how their scenes would play out. But there’s a nice synergy there.
Okay. Does Carver want Leah for himself? Because I’m sure Daryl at this point would love to scream “take her, I know where I fucking belong!”
Daryl’s digging in deep because Carver has shown him Leah’s potential weak spot. Nuance is truly lost on some people, LMAO. He cares about Leah as a human being probably. He’s Daryl, after all. The sweet one. But he sees her as his way outta this and he’s going to exploit it.
It’s nice to have a silent Negan for once, lol. I can pretend he didn’t take my baby Glenn away from me and enjoy JDM’s pretty.
So. These cannibal people were the watchers? Hmm.
I’m really digging Virgil 2.0. Yeah. Nobody’s surprised more than me.
Sweet, sweet scene between Virgil and Connie. His determination to reunite her with her family brings back the sympathy I felt for him when he told Michonne “I promised her flowers. Every day.”
Damn. How many of those creepy crawly cannibals are there?
How brave of Connie to confront her fears to save someone she’s obviously grown to care about.
The Kelly/Connie reunion gave me chills and made me cry. Thank fuck Angela didn’t cheapen that moment by having it focus on literally anybody else. Kelly is the most important person in the whole world to Connie and vice versa. Just like Carol is the most important person in the whole world to Daryl and vice versa. Angela fucking knows. Everybody does. Except the people busy building castles out of sand while the waves of Carol’s and Daryl’s converging stories keep crashing closer and closer to shore.
Such a beautiful moment given to us by Angel Theory and Lauren Ridloff. So authentic and sweet. Kelly and Connie are home to each other.
Poor Frost. That’s all I gotta say about that.
WTF, though. Was Mel just not available or what? I want to see more of the ASZ characters that I care about, not the Reapers. Like I’d be fine with the story if all the characters not named Maggie, Negan, or Daryl weren’t surviving on crumbs during it. Especially the 2nd billed actress on the entire show. Angela. Please. Fix this.
One last WTF. Seriously. WTF has Maggie done to inspire Pope’s obsession? It better be juicy after all this shit.
Overall impression of the episode--
One of my favorites of the season so far. The horror aspects were fantastic, IMHO. I truly didn’t expect to like Connie and Virgil’s scenes as much together so that was a nice surprise. She got the reunion that felt most true and earned for the character and her story and I thank Angela from the bottom of my heart for that.
I would have loved more Carol but I always want more Carol. I’m okay with her taking a backseat because ultimately? This was Kelly’s moment with her sister. Carol and Connie will eventually have their time to sit down and talk. And pick back up their blossoming friendship because I truly do not feel Connie blames Carol at all.
I do wish Lydia had been included with the girl group. Last episode felt like it was leading up to that.
The Reaper storyline continues to be the weakest link because every time we see them the dialogue and interactions feel totally recycled from the time previous. I feel like it would have totally been helped by a tighter focus and less stretching out because 8 episodes of this is really diluting what I feel like Angela and Co. are going for. I’m not here for Leah being redeemed or being a bigger focus in any of the episodes because she does nothing of interest for me. I’m just peeking in on that story for the Daryl of it all.
Speaking of the Daryl? You lovelies out there gotta stop taking that spoiler source’s recaps at face value because it’s obvious to me at least that there’ some bias at work. Every action and word coming from Daryl is coming from a place of loyalty to his family and wanting to protect them, no matter how he has to dirty his hands. Leah is just a means to his ultimate end. She’s not his future. She never was. His future’s already spoken for and 2023 can’t get here soon enough. But like Daryl, we have to just survive somehow.
Oh goodie. More Maggie and Negan next episode and looks like no real follow up on Connie and the ASZ reunions. Hopefully, this is yet another instance of the previews being deceiving but I’m not holding my breath.
Until later, lovelies.
Hope my word vomit didn’t bore you too much.

The moment I've been waiting for has finally come! As I indicated in the headline, I've reached 200 followers here on Tumblr, thank you all so much, this truly means a lot to me, also thank you for the feedback I always got on my works and even my random shitposts! <3
and to celebrate this very important and remarkable life event— I had planned a sleepover celebration which consists of games, questions, asks, and of course, requests! <3
The sleepover will be a week long, from September 15th till the 21st of the same month where you can submit asks and requests!
As for games, I have a list of them!
Kiss/Marry/Kill: you give me three characters and I will sort each one in one of these categories! (make it hard for me)
This or That: you give me two things/characters and I get to choose one that suits me better! (for example: night owl or early bird?)
make an assumption: you literally make an assumption about me and I either prove it or deny it!
never have I ever: you ask me about things I did or didn't do!
exchanged ships: you basically give me a character that you find as my significant other, and I will give you a character in exchange and why I think it's the perfect character for you!
Q&A: you can ask me about anything, whether it's my favorite food or even what fabrics do I prefer to wear, ask whatever you want!
Note on prohibited things that I won't be doing or answering:
No nsfw/dirty asks, writing requests or questions, it's uncomfortable for me, and it's an all-ages-friendly celebration. No further elaboration, please respect this. <3
AND FINALLY, THE REQUESTS!
As for writing requests, I will be taking fluff/angst/violence (blood and gore—due to the nature of the characters I write for) x female!reader requests only. And of course you can request the prompt you desire. <3
As for the characters, here's a list of the fictional men that I would be writing for:
Matt Murdock/Daredevil
Tristan Thorn
Michael Kinsella
Daryl Dixon
(might consider writing for other Charlie Cox/Norman Reedus characters. example: Ian Hamilton, Henry the vampire, Scud, Murphy MacManus, etc.)
You can ask for prompt included in this list or ones you come up with yourself:
Intimate moments
Gestures that make me feel love
Romantic rainy day prompts
gentle things that makes me fall harder in love
fluffy comforting/sick dialogue prompts
lighthearted first kiss scenarios
Sparring prompts
Forced proximity prompts
Date prompts masterpost
Note that I will be tagging the fic requests with #yuna's 2h sleepover celebration so that they're all sorted there, but they will be sorted in my main masterlist as regular requests! <3
tagging my moots to spread the word sorry for being a little too annoying hehe (and I tried to tag as much as possible but my memory is messing around with me I'm sorry if I forgot anyone) @v4leoftears @remonemo @fizanotfeeza @netflixmatt @bellaxgiornata @farfromstrange @itwasthereaminuteago @loveroftoomanyfandoms @little-miss-dilf-lover @tongueofcat @mattmurdockscox @courtforshort15 @chvoswxtch @mattmurdocksscars @kal-0n @murc0ck @babygrlmurdock @galaxies-and-moons-and-cox @acharliecoxedfan @mindidjarin @she-likesorchids @munsonownsmyass @saintmurd0ck @murdocklorian @abbyhaslongshorts @theradioactivespidergwen @softasawhisper @peterman-spideyparker @mattmurdocksstarlight @netflixmatt-main
That's basically everything I have for my first sleepover celebration, feel free to submit your requests and games anytime! Thank you for coming to my sleepover tonight! <3

She doesn't talk to him for years and he still asks to be on her podcast. Normam Reedus is literally a simp for Emily Kinney.
lmaoo right?! And let’s not forget this

Well I understand Bethyl and their special relationship, but what is wrong with Emily and Norman? I'm new to the show, so ... are they dating or what my friend told me Emily unfollow him and all of this? Would you please explain to me what happened?
I’m assuming you’re referring to my tags on that video I reblogged? So first of all, regardless of their offscreen relationship it was so nice to get cute/fun normily content while they were on the show together. So that’s one of the reasons I said that.
As far as the history...basically it’s never been confirmed but many of us believe that they briefly dated in 2015. There was actually an article in Us mag in June 2015 about it & they had at least one (unnamed) source, NR technically denied it (more like diverted attention with a joke on twitter) but Emily said nothing & when she’s been asked outright she’s essentially refused to answer. Neither of them have ever said ‘no, that didn’t happen’. So onto the unfollow part. In May 2017 NR posted a pic of D***e on IG (I just don’t like her for multiple reasons so I don’t write her name out lmao if you don’t know who I mean, you can just google NR & it will tell you who his ‘partner’ is) & basically it became clear he was dating her (tho I think there was already news out about it) and later that day or the next day Emily unfollowed him. So...it seems pretty clear the reason why she unfollowed. He would continue to occasionally like Emily’s posts & once commented for her bday & she never acknowledged him lol. But apparently as of last month she’s decided to give their friendship another chance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If you want to jump down the normily rabbit hole more you can check out my normily stuff and normily trash tags (you can look at the regular normily tag I have too, but the other two are more ‘streamlined’ to evidence lol)

I’m just gonna say it now: I think most everyone who ships Daryl with an existing character is pretty pissed about the fact that he is going to finally have a canon relationship with a brand spankin new, random character but please for the love of God if the actress who plays her has social media DO NOT SEND HER HATE. And don’t hate on her even if she doesn’t have social media. She got a role and did her job and had nothing to do with the plot & crap writing.

Normily My Caffeine Withdrawal Podcast episode (transcript of certain parts)
EK intro: I first met Norman Reedus working on The Walking Dead of course. Over the course of my four seasons on our show, I got to know Norman better and better and we became good friends. And in a sort of interesting parallel, our characters storylines also became more intertwined within the show. Norman is so special, he seems to have endless amounts of creative energy that I find incredibly inspiring. He also has great taste in music and coffee which makes him a perfect guest for this podcast. Welcome back to My Caffeine Withdrawal, I am so incredibly excited to share this episode with all of you today. Norman has so many fans and I know this to be true because everyday someone in my life or someone on social media asks me ‘hey, how was it working with Norman? What is Norman Reedus like?’ Well, now today you guys are going to get to know Norman in the same way that I know Norman! We talk about how Norman got into acting and when and why he moved to California, as well as what his life was like as an artist first starting out in Los Angeles. We talk about a book he’s been writing! And he tells a lot of great stories! But first, Norman explained his current coffee setup situation and how he’s currently weathering the quarantine from Costa Rica.
This gets long so putting it behind a cut!
I put a timestamp of where each segment starts at the end of them!
NR: Hi Emily!
EK: Hi!
NR: I just set this up cause I’ve been listening to your podcast which I really like and I know it’s heavy on the coffee so I brought my coffee setup down the mountain in my backpack on the motorcycle and this is my coffee jam here (I’m not 100% sure of the last 2 words) so, this is what I do. You ready?
EK: Yes!
*NR shows her & describes his coffee process*
EK: What was the thing um, on Instagram, you posted this picture of a hummingbird, that was crazy! What made you post that?
NR: It’s this person that I’ve become friends with, they only try to post positive things…*he explains more about the person & post* (starts at 6:08)
EK: You wanna hear something kind of crazy about the hummingbird thing? I don’t know if you know this about me but I’ve definitely gotten more like spiritual…but like *Emily giggle* this is gonna sound crazy and I don’t even usually talk about this stuff, but I sort of have this sign of when I’m like guided where I’m supposed to go, and my sign has been a hummingbird. And you had text me and I randomly looked at your Instagram and saw—
NR: Wow
EK: —It definitely was like one of those where like ‘go there’, maybe it was just if there is a god or whatever just being like ‘oh nice, connect with your friend, you know, like connect with Norman…’
NR: I actually believe all that. When I texted you I was having breakfast at this place by the beach, the lady that makes the honey, by her place. And I was listening to your podcast with Lennie. And I had already heard Lauren’s and I was listening to Lennie’s, and at the end of it you were like ‘you know what I hope during Covid everyone can reach out to a friend’ and I was like ‘I’m just gonna text her’ so I texted you at that moment. I have the same thing with a bird like my dad, before my dad died he was always talking about cardinals, those red cardinals. So everytime I see a cardinal I think the same thing. And then the night before, Danai called me out of nowhere. I hadn’t spoken to Danai in forever. And she’s like ’what are you doing?’ and I’m like ‘I’m sitting on my patio with all the lights off…’ and there was a meteor shower, it was called like the Gideon meteor shower, this huge meteor shower that happened. And I saw 21 shooting stars before I went to bed. I pay attention to all that shit—
EK: Yeah
NR: 21! And I was like talking to her I’m like ‘there’s 11! There’s 12!’ and it just kept going. I believe all that stuff.
EK: I grew up Catholic so I kind of, like…religion in general felt sort of overwhelming even though prayer and stuff like that came naturally to me and then just over like the last like 5 or 6 years or so I’ve like really embraced it where I’m sort of like ‘yep, I think these things are happening, I have little signs that tell me like where to go…’. I guess I don’t really talk about it with people much but it’s just, like I read about it and stuff. Yeah.
NR: I believe it, I believe all of them. I’m not really religious but I believe all those signs all the time. I see little signs in everything, yeah.
EK: Yeah! (starts at 9:38)
--
EK: That sounds like you’ve had a very productive quarantine, or whatever this corona-pocalypse quarantine time.
NR: I’m not good with sitting still, you know what I mean, so I’m always doing something.
EK: Yeah! Yeah. I mean that’s one thing, when I was thinking about—when I was around you more working on the show, was that you were always…like you know sitting down to dinner and then like noticing this saltshaker and this fork should be next to each other in a certain way and then you can take a picture. You know what I mean, like I remember that about you like always making something, I guess. Or looking for the art in it or the picture. Or, you know, which um—
NR: it’s ADD or something I dunno what…
EK: I admired it because I feel like I can be so slow. Like, I love making stuff but I can sort of like piece it together over weeks and then I finally do—like in my head somehow, like I’m more of like a turtle! You know just like—
NR: Yeah but you make music! I mean, we all wish we could write songs and perform songs. You know, you make music. We all wish we were musicians, you know what I’m saying, so. (starts at 18:18)
--
EK: I remember you telling me a story of how you got an agent by like going to a party and then someone said ‘do you want to be in a play?’ and then you were the understudy and then the guy just happened to have to call out so then you were in the play, you didn’t have to be the understudy and then an agent—and that’s how it all started with acting, um, *laughs* did I just tell your story for you?!
NR: You’re right. No, no you’re exactly right. That’s exactly what happened. (starts at 26:08)
--
NR: I actually made an album, a music album
EK: You did?!
NR: Yeah
EK: Oh, that’s—you wrote all the songs and stuff? Or did you—
NR: I didn’t write any of it. And I didn’t really sing it, it’s more of a spoken word thing
EK: Yeah!
NR *tells story about how this came about, which involves an igloo*
EK: Wait, why were you in an igloo in Switzerland?! *laughs*
NR *tells more of the story…it’s long ok I don’t wanna transcribe it sdhfhsfh*
EK: Yeah I wanna hear your album! I mean…
NR: It’s out—
EK: It is?!
NR: It played…it did pretty well in France, it was on the radio and shit
EK: Yeah, will you email it to me or something, so I can…
NR: I will. Yeah yeah.
EK: I also wanted to make sure today to get some of your music picks because I remember back when we were on the show you always gave me the best music, like stuff that I hadn’t heard. I don’t know if if it’s just like because of your friends in New York or like maybe you’re a little bit older than me so you know different bands than I do. But, I remember like Dinosaur Jr., you like introducing me to Dinosaur Jr. Like I didn’t really know Dinosaur Jr. before you
NR: That’s crazy that you don’t know Dinosaur Jr. then (? I really can’t tell for sure that last word he says)
EK: I know! I think I might have pretended that I kind of I knew but like you introduced me for sure and I like totally dove in. But yeah during this quarantine, what have you been listening to?
NR: *lists some bands* Sean Lennon’s band that he made with Les Claypool is really good. He was on Ride with me.
EK: Oh, he was?! I’ve only see—I haven’t seen all the episodes of that, I’ve only seen, um, a few of them (adsdfdjf don’t lie Emily it’s probably actually 0 but we all understand babe) (starts at 35:10)
--
EK: It was so fun to talk to you today
NR: Yeah I miss you! I miss you, it’s good to see you and hear you.
EK: I miss you too, I’m going to check out that sock method…although I think it’s just pour over it’s just with a special…reusable—
NR: Yeah, a dirty sock
EK: Yeah, but something about it, yeah….*both laugh* Thank you for being on here, it feels so good to like chat with you
NR: Yeah, I miss you it’s good to hear your voice
EK: I miss you too, yeah. *she starts talking about twd & the connection with everyone etc* (starts at 41:36)
NR: *after he mentions everyone from the cast he’s still in touch with* You get these friendships with people and it becomes a big part of your life, your friends on the show, so. I’m glad I’m talking to you
EK: Yeah, I’m glad I’m talking to you too. (starts at 44:03)
From Emily’s end blurb: I hope you guys enjoyed Norman and I’s little catch up call over Zoom, I hope that you learned something new about Norman you didn’t know before. You know, Norman and I really hadn’t connected much over the last couple years (we all know this Emily and we pretty much all know why lol) we’ve just been on sort of different paths (yeah, that’s a way to put it I guess haha) but again and again I’m finding that one of the blessings of this time, being stuck at home, is remembering and reconnecting with people I care about and people that care about me. Maybe you have a friend you used to work with that you haven’t caught up with for a while and now you’ll feel inspired to send them a little text saying hello.
(How do they literally have chemistry on a *podcast* okay bye I’m going to go fly into the sun now)

Okay...so it’s time to tackle Episode 10x18 and why it didn’t bother me that much.
Despite getting to watch TWD Season 10B early thanks to a forgotten AMC Premiere account, I waited an entire 24 hours before I watched 10x18 out of fear of the inevitable.
And by now I’m sure you know exactly what I’m referring too.
However, after I did finally break down and watch it Friday evening, I was surprised that it didn’t bother me nearly as much as I thought it would.
Some might say that’s just because of the tinfoil hat now firmly placed tightly around my head after the previous episode convinced me even more Beth Greene might just show up out of the blue one day soon to a TWD universe production near you. Okay, I’ll give you that!
However, there are very logical reasons why I don’t feel the least bit threatened by this new woodland harlot, Leah, (I’m just joking, geesh) and I’m going to tell you what they are!
Before I begin, I want to make clear that while I’m not thrilled about the idea of Daryl being in a romantic relationship with anyone but Beth, I didn’t really even hate Leah but saw her instead as what I believe she was meant to be. On her own in another situation she probably would be a great character. However, when I have mentioned in the past that I liked this episode, I was mainly referring to the parts with Car*l. Not because I am petty and enjoyed the fight, but because I think these are conversations that Daryl and her need to be having.
Nevertheless, here’s my take of 10X18. Consider yourself spoiler warned if you haven’t seen it yet.
Daryl was probably at the loneliest part of his life when Leah enters the picture.
Let’s take the time and set this scene a moment...
At the point in the story when Leah first appears, Daryl has been wandering the woods for three freaking years looking for any sign of Rick’s body.
While Daryl is away, everything he knows has changed and life has just continued to carry on without him for everyone else he loves. Rick and Carl are both long gone. Carol is busy being a wife and mother. Michonne has pretty much shut off Alexandria from everybody including Team family. Maggie left for parts unknown with Georgie and has taken little Hershel with her.
Literally every single thing that Rick and Team Family ever tried to build during this apocalypse is shattered and everything the man has ever loved is gone.
We also can’t forget that the person Daryl would have naturally clung to during this sad time happened to “die” before he ever stepped foot into Virgina. Therefore, Daryl is left with absolutely no one. It’s a damn miracle that he didn’t off himself and might have - had he not been so obsessed in finding Rick’s body.
Leah is Daryl’s exact mirror in female form.
So he meets Leah after accidentally breaking into her cabin and almost immediately we can see she is literally like him looking into a mirror. Now, I’ve already read many people trying to compare her to Car*l and even Beth and while I do get what they are saying, I also disagree. This lady is no other than the female version of Daryl Dixon. He has surely found his exact match in her.
Here’s how we figure that out:
Leah is tough as nails but obviously has a heart because she doesn’t immediately kill Daryl for busting into her cabin and ultimately lets him go.
You come to find out she had abusive parents and a very shitty childhood just like Daryl.
You find out her life sucked until she found her group - who had given her not only hope but finally a real family.
Like Daryl, her life also greatly improved during the apocalypse.
It takes Leah a very long time to trust Daryl enough to even tell him her name.
You find out she had a son who was born very much like Judith was. Her “sister” died giving birth to him, causing her to raise him as her own.
Something horrible happens to the group (horde of walkers) and everyone else gets killed. She takes her son and runs to the cabin only to realize that he had been bitten and ultimately dies.
It highly implied Leah blames herself for what happened to her family.
Like Daryl, at this point in the story Leah has lost everything she has ever loved, has sought refuge in the woods, and is completely alone.
Yet, in no way, shape, or form was Leah ever supposed to be a replacement for Beth. Instead, I believe she actually demonstrates why Bethyl worked so well.
While I’m okay with the character of Leah, she’s no Beth. Not even close. As I stated before, she is just like Daryl and that’s really the problem.
Because we need to understand the thing that made Bethyl work so well was their fundamentally different personalities fitting together like peanut butter and jelly - both perfectly fine on their own but together making the perfect combination.
And TPTB spent a lot of time and effort back in the day showing us how much this was so.
While sometimes opposite people clash, we were shown that their different natures surprisingly completed each other very well. In other words, they were each other’s yin and yang. This was most obvious with Daryl helping Beth realize her own strength and Beth showing Daryl how to move forward. However, I could create an entire meta...and there are many that already exist out there...listing countless examples of how we saw them bringing the best out in each other. The combination of this along with their utmost (even sometimes brutal) honesty, shared history, and absolute trust in each other, created a foundation for a very healthy relationship.
In contrast, two people with nearly identical personalities and the same exact kind of unhealed trauma like Leah and Daryl, are usually not good life partners because they can hinder and get in the way of each other’s forward progress.
While you can understand why these kinds of people gravitate together and form bonds over shared experience, resulting romantic relationships can often be rocky. Many times the shared trauma can result in both partners having the exact same kinds of problems with trust, communication, and reckless expression of feelings. There is nobody in the relationship to model different kinds of behaviors and ideas since both tend to have the same life experiences to draw upon. Instead, each serves to the other as a living testament to and as confirmation of why their negative thoughts and behaviors are correct.
In other words, there is nobody there to throw the life preserver when both people are drowning. Nobody to even suggest to either partner a different way of doing things.
Also, when the relationship’s foundation is based solely on shared trauma, the trauma itself can become the only thing holding the two partners together.
This is why I never thought Daryl and Car*l would ever make good romantic partners. However, at least they have different types of personalities and kinds of trauma. Car*l is just...well Car*l - a force all on her own - and there’s nothing to suggest she ever experienced abuse in childhood. However, Leah being an exact carbon copy of Daryl gave that relationship even less of a chance.
And what I have just described seems to be exactly what we really do see happen between Daryl and Leah in Episode 10x18. I could list various examples but for time’s sake, I’m choosing not to because I am sure you can see it too - at least now that I’ve brought it up.
Just know I also believe this is why NR seemed to imply the relationship was not good in earlier preview shows.
Daryl flat out told Leah he didn’t know if he could choose her.
As many others have already pointed out throughout the weekend, I believe the biggest difference between Daryl’s reaction to Leah and his reaction to Beth is the simple fact he really didn’t seem to want to stay in that cabin with Leah forever. He doesn’t even seem all that upset about it either until he starts talking with Car*l later.
This drastically contrasts with the “Oh” scene with Beth. Hell, Daryl didn’t even care if the looney person who had been tending the funeral home and dressing up corpses came back! He wanted nothing more than to stay there and live happily ever after with her. There was no hesitation.
I would go as far as to say Beth is the only person able to completely divert Daryl's attention away from the rest of his family - much like she did when he spotted the Grady car and began his pursuit. However, Beth would never even ask such a thing - because not only is it her family too - but also because Beth was much too unselfish to let Daryl make those kinds of choices.
So you might ask yourself why he changed his mind in the end and made him decide to go back to Leah?
I believe he makes this choice because of the conversation with Car*l. She basically tells him that everyone else has found their place and it is time for him to find his place too. It begins to slowly eat at Daryl how they have all moved on without him. It’s important to remember that by this time in the story, he’s pretty much done scouring the river for Rick. He’s already checked out that “one last place” he hadn’t been. So now he’s beginning to ponder Car*l’s words and wondering where his place is now? Where does he go from here? It’s logical to think maybe he’s supposed to be in those woods with Leah after all.
Daryl and Leah’s relationship doesn't seem to leave much of a lasting impression or effect on Daryl.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe Daryl most definitely cared about Leah. Yet, we can’t forget how we first found Daryl all those years later after the time jump in Episode 9X6.
If you remember right, Daryl still wasn’t doing all that great. His relationship with Leah apparently does absolutely nothing to change his outlook on anything.
In comparison, we all know what just a few short weeks - perhaps a couple of months - in the woods with Beth Greene does to Daryl Dixon. It changes his character profoundly!
Daryl might have went back to Leah at the time...BUT he made it crystal clear to C*rol that he knows where he belongs NOW. That’s what the entire fight between them was really about.
There is a line that Daryl spits out during his fight with Car*l that sums up exactly why he wasn’t able to give up everything and stay with Leah. He tells Car*l that he knows where his place is…and he’s referring to being with his family at Alexandria. He’s angry that she doesn’t seem to understand that it’s where her place is as well.
AK later points this line out on TTD as important too. In fact, she literally states that his relationship with Leah is purely in the past and they will not go there again. It is rare for a showrunner to flat out proclaim something like this. It means she felt it was important for the audience to understand that this was done. She also points out that the fight is really about how sick Daryl is of Carol running away every time things get extremely difficult.
I would go a step further and say that Daryl is probably projecting what he now realizes was going on with himself when he was wandering the woods and choosing to stay there with Leah all those years ago. He’s upset with himself for having done so and he’s upset with Car*l that she has yet to have come to the same conclusion.
Ps: Be on the lookout for another post - a part two of sorts - later this week detailing all the things I’m still tinkering in my mind about this episode! ;)
Until then, keep calm and Bethyl on! She’s coming soon...

Random musings on 10.18 Find Me
Other Carylers have spoken about the episode and their interpretations of it and what it means for Caryl and their future and I've been sharing those and don't have that much to add to what’s already been discussed. Others have written well thought out and detailed analyses and interpretations and said it way better than I ever could. Most of them have been writing about Caryl forever and I started less than a year ago. I do want to speak to some technical stuff and a few other things, since I never do know when to shut up. Spoilers for 10.18 below the cut.
Brief talk on techie stuff... Wow, the cinematography in the plus six are really taking it up a notch. 10.18 has some of the most gorgeous images in the history of the show. The colors, the framing, and Caryl; separated by a stretch of water that's a literal stand-in for the divide between them, in an episode stuffed with signs and symbols and parallels. "Find Me" has some of the most visually breathtaking shots in the history of TWD... and do you know why? Because the plus six were filmed on digital cameras, for the first time in the history of a show that has always been shot on 16 millimeter film. Turns out, the digital process not only has fewer "touch points" (thanks for nothing, COVID) but it's also cheaper, faster, and easier on the environment.
TWD almost switched to digital for Season 2, and while AK claims now that they can still give it that classic TWD look, in a 2019 interview posted on comicbook.com, she said they were committed to shooting on film to preserve it's look and feel (confirming that film and digital are noticeably not created equal, an opinion/truth they are apparently backing off of, now). If the new episodes look different, its because they are. I am torn between which style I prefer. The grainy, Kodak-y type images of TWD as shot on film are increasingly rare on any screen, simultaneously nostalgic and beautiful and born of toxicity. The gallons of chemicals used in developing standard film are not environmentally friendly and probably need to go the way of the dinosaur.
Digital is wonderful in its own ways, so minute in its details, and can easily capture images and light conditions otherwise incredibly difficult to duplicate on actual film... But digital doesn't look the same, it doesn't feel the same, in the way that CD's and vinyl records don't sound the same. Purists curl their lip at the new and improved version of the medium, but the truth is,most people don't notice the differences.
TWD has always used the sun and the moon to their best visual advantage and both the celestial backdrops show up in "Find Me." The sun filtering through the trees onto Daryl or in his general direction has made repeat appearances in S10. Is this a metaphor for his finally finding his enlightenment? (Or is it nothing deeper than AMC uses the light to make everything look as cool as possible?)
10.18 shows us more of Daryl's soul (in a single episode) than we've seen before. His character goes through all sorts of colors, screaming in the rainstorm, grimacing as puppy Dog licks his face, meeting and spending time with this strange, lonely, gruff, almost mirror reflection of himself, someone who is grieving and angry and alone. Fighting with Carol! A real fight, but an honest and not altogether unhealthy one. You gotta work through to acceptance and let go of the past before you can look forward to a future, and these two have enough trauma issues between them to fill a psychiatric journal. They’ve a long, arduous road ahead of them, but they WILL reach their destination. Together.
Daryl throwing the fish at Leah's door and Leah throwing the fish at Daryl are my favorite moments in the episode. I laughed out loud. I did not get the impression that they only encountered each other once every several months, I took it that the time jumps measured the progression of their relationship, i.e. that it took that long for them to warm up to each other. When Daryl did go to stay at Leah's, it was literally out of necessity, as he was getting frost bitten in the woods and probably would have lost at least a digit or two had he remained in his camp.
For the first time, I didn't really enjoy the Caryl banter? (Please don't hurt me.) There was a sadness, a tension, and a sense of loss there I just couldn't shake. Carol was trying to run away from the horrors of the Whisperer's aftermath, and Daryl knew it, and he was annoyed by it. Carol's attempts at lightheartedness seemed forced. I feel like Daryl is a man with a whole lot on his mind at this point, and that Carol is a woman who is habitually trying not to think about the real stuff if she can avoid it. She jokes and banters but she's almost too cheerful... or maybe it just seems that way because Daryl's so grim. Not grim as in we're-all-facing-our-end-of-days-doom grim, but not in a laughing mood where Carol's concerned. He thinks she's running again, and seeing Leah's cabin reminds him that Leah probably ran from him, too. He lost both his brothers, Rick and Merle. Daryl has abandonment issues and an overdeveloped sense of responsibility going back as far as we know. He loses people and can't find them again, no matter how much he searches.
Revisiting Leah's cabin, the devastation of Alexandria, and everything that's been building up over, about, and because of Carol has pressurized within Daryl till he finally takes a shot, and who can blame him? But he also shows his development and maturity by trying to express his disappointment with controlled words of frustration (compared to camp- or barn-rage Daryl in S2), telling Carol exactly what it is she does that's widening the chasm between them.
Carol to Daryl early in the episode "I don't want to lose you because you can't figure out when to stop," and Daryl to Carol "That's on you. 'Cause you don't know when to stop.") Daryl doesn't know when to stop searching for his lost brother and blaming himself for things, Carol didn't know when to stop her revenge-fueled pursuit of Alpha. Daryl also tells Carol "That's all that matters. You being right." (after she says she was right to go after and destroy Alpha to avenge her son.) At the end of the ep., Carol says it again: "I was right" (this time about their luck having run out), then she goes to fix the door.
So now Caryl know and have established what gets each other's goat. That could be a good thing, but tptb will undoubtedly attempt to convince us its a bad thing,, ya think? Neither of the characters knowing when to stop and their mutual annoyance over the fact could be something the show runners milk for a while.
Î wanted to know whether Daryl went back to the cabin after leaving his note, to see whether Leah had returned to it, or not. I want to know what Carol did with the note. Did she take it with her, or did she put it back? They never showed us. Daryl seemed anxious and tense about her finding it, and I did not miss the symbolism of Carol being the woman who eventually finds the note Daryl left behind years ago: "I belong with you. Find me." I mean, how perfect is that?
Contrary to spoilery bullshit stinking up the Twittersphere, Carol did not seem exactly “upset” at finding the note, though clearly she was sad. She knew exactly what the note was, so Daryl must’ve told her about it, that he left it. Maybe he didn't tell her exactly what it said or everything about Leah, but my impression was that she realized what it was and where they were, and it was all yesterday's news to her. Seeing the note seemed to make her sad for Daryl because she knows Daryl can't handle losing people, and that he punishes himself for failing to help or save people by pushing everybody away and isolating.
Leah didn't so much choose to be there in the cabin as she ran for her life from a dangerous situation and the cabin was just the place where she and her bitten son ended up.
So many yawning gaps in the Leah storyline. How often did they see each other? Did Daryl move in with her toward the end of their relationship? I felt like he did after the time she found him freezing in the woods, but that he'd leave for days to go look for Rick, or hunt, or who tf knows. Maybe he'd leave to see or meet Carol. Carol knew about Leah, but when? Before, or after it was happening? Why is that important? I just want to know when he told her. Really hoping they didn’t leave things purposely vague so they can fill in the gaps to screw with us later.
Timing is everything. Like, how much time passed between Leah telling Daryl to choose, and the time Carol told Daryl she couldn't keep visiting? Or did he leave Leah's cabin and return to it that same day? Which would imply Leah abandoned Daryl practically the instant he walked out the door following her ultimatum. It seems like Daryl was gone a while, it was dark when Leah told him to choose, and daylight in the scene with Carol at his camp and when he was walking in the woods. It could have been days. That makes a difference. Leah was obviously not Daryl's first choice, no matter that he ran back to her in the end.
The fact that Carol knew about Daryl's relationship with Leah is a crafty move on the show runner's part because we can't really be pissed at Daryl if Carol knew about it the whole time and was cool with it.... but we all know now that Daryl didn't tell her everything.
No one is talking about how Leah obviously abandoned Dog, she left him shut in the damn cabin for who knows how long after she left. And she DID leave. The cabin looked abandoned when Daryl left the note. He obviously went searching for her with Dog, but for how long?
Not to say there was nothing between them, but I never felt for an instant that Leah had Daryl's heart, or that he ever offered it up to her in the first place, but I am also 100% sure that’s because I’m ride-or-die for Caryl and can’t bear to entertain the thought. No matter what else they were, Daryl and Leah are isolated, damaged, traumatized people who wanted someone to hold on to. Someone to try and forget with. It's not like there were a lot of other people around to choose from.
So did Leah just leave Dog behind because the memories associated with him were too painful? (i.e. he was born on the day Leah's son died) Or did she feel that Daryl needed the companionship and gambled that Daryl would drop by soon and take him in? It really bothers me that she just split and left the dog locked in the cabin like that.
Grateful they didn't show us anything extra of Daryl seeming to genuinely give a shit, tbh. (Throwing a fish at someone's door, having sex with them, sleeping in their bed or eating their cooking doesn't necessarily constitute giving a shit in this world, just saying.) That was both refreshing (cuz u know, Caryl is endgame), and kind of tragic. I felt like Daryl was rather emotionally detached the entire time, but that Leah was maybe falling in love with him. Not in a good way, but in a possessive, demanding, all-or-nothing type of way.
How very very clever of AMC to leave us with all these ambiguities. So much room for interpretation, so many gaps to never be filled in. Bastards. On the bright side, all these holes in the story and missing material provide endless new opportunities for fanfic writers like me who can't break free of the bonds of canon. So, yay, I guess?
I am sad to give up the virgin Daryl trope, I was beginning to think that one was ours in canon to keep, but you know, it is what it is. It was a good, long run while it lasted, and I'm grateful we got to write inexperienced Daryl fics while we could still entertain the fantasy that Daryl was actually inexperienced. So, R.I.P. virgin Daryl. I'm not as upset about his getting laid as I thought I'd be (although it was incredibly underhanded, AMC, to pull this shit so very late in the game, there better be a good reason for it).
All the Leah thing means to me right now is that our man has probably picked up some skills during his time with her, and Carol's gonna be the ultimate beneficiary. Plus, Daryl's evolved over the years from throwing a fish at a woman's door to delivering her dinner on a tray with a flower, so...progress was made, even if he didn't start out with the woman we wish he had. (News Flash: The love of his life was unavailable and actually married to another man at the time, so there's that.)
There are a staggering number of Caryllels in this episode. Someone once said here that Kang loves her symbolism and they weren't wrong. No matter what's to come, we can be confident about where this road ends. At this point in TWD, to not eventually give us Caryl canon would be the absolute greatest trolling of a fandom in the history of trolling fandoms, and besides, we're getting a spin-off.
Another thing, the fact that Rick and Leah both basically disappeared on him shines a bright light on Daryl's determination to stick to Carol like glue in 10A and B. He was terrified that she was going to disappear on him, too.
What happened to the Caryl fandom following the spoilers wasn't worth it. How many times have we freaked out over spoilers? You think we'd learn. And you KNOW we are valued because AMC went so very far out of their way to provide the vaguest-ever depiction of a sexual encounter for Daryl. Remember the Eugene spying scene with Abe and Rosita, guys? Shane and Lori screwing on the ground in the woods? They could really have tortured us, and they chose to be kind.
I'm looking forward to "Diverged." Honestly, I could give a shit about most of the other characters, but they'll have to make do for us over the next couple of weeks. Just about the time 10.18's been dissected and interpreted to death, Caryl will reappear on our screens and mess with our hearts and minds some more. I can't wait.
Thank you for coming to my rant, and Caryl on!

Sense8 AU!aftg
In the honor of absolutlynothing I’ve decided to put out there one of the many au I have on my phone and archive it there
Big shout out to @a-m-peengoo and @bluesuederose for participating in this mess with genius lines and always be there to bear my 36 ideas per hour. We did a masterpiece girls.
Here we go it’s gonna be long
The cluster:
Kevin: Nomi. He’s just a fuckin hacker who’s running away from his family (riko). When he’s bored, he spends nights crashing the Pentagon system for fun, and makes every screen in the White House play Best Exy Actions Compilation (the longest and hardest part is choosing one compilation to play).
Dan: Will. One of them have to keep them under control. Plus, Dan with a gun i can’t even-
Matt: Riley. Soft, blue strand of hair, a heart of gold, maternal. As a DJ. Yes. SO SOFT (he still knows how to box)
Allison: Capheus. Listen. Imagine Allison in high heels, skin tight leather pants, driving a bus. Also, a F1 pilot champion who can drive anything (even if it’s the first time)
Andrew: Wolfgang. Duh. Do I need to explain myself. Just think abt him saying “This is Berlin. Those are my people. And we go to our knees for no one”.Boy he does NOT like this situation, at all. Will keep the others out with sheer willpower and no blockers. The cluster’s deadliest weapon. PLUS HELLO???? ANDREW IN A PASTEL PINK BOMBER SHOOTING ON A HELICOPTER WITH A BAZOOKA????
Aaron: Felix? Sorta? not a senseate but a great doctor. Senses bullshit and when someone is in Andrew’s body real quick (Andrew: says more than 2 sentences and is pleasant. Aaron:.....who’s that bitch where is my brother) . Later helps to manufacture blockers.
Neil: Kala. A pharmacist that uses his skill for arson and may or may not be running away from mafia/family matter and currently hiding in India. Him saying “Bring it, bitch” to Riko is my sexuality and Andrew’s. Can create explosives from a Fanta can and spices I mean it’s already canon in aftg. (plus andreil would work even better bc technically Neil can’t even touch Andrew for real)
Nicky: Lito. The drama, the sass. Also the scene where he discovers the Twinyard in Germany are his cousins would be hilarious. The scene where Lito seduces the nurse but with Nicky (“engaging into heterosexual activity? me????”) or the scene where Lito screams in the museum but with Nicky
Erik as Hernando. That’s it that’s the post.
Renee: Sun. I mean, a korean fighter lady in prison trying to be a better person and had a silent bffs relationship with a german gangster? Come on. Also. Allison in a bus and Renee doing art martials stuff.
Riko: whispers i guess he can eat Allison’s high heels
Now the ~scenes~ (it’s just shitposting):
Aaron, on the verge on several break downs: wait so you have like … DJ Blue Matt and F1 pilot Allison Reynolds in your head? since when? ANDREW SINCE WHE-
*
Neil: what’s a better use of a multiple thousands dollars education than precise arson?????
*
Aaron: why does your boyfriend always end up burning things up?
Andrew: he lits up my heart as well
Aaron: FOR FUCK SAKE
*
Kevin, shocked and betrayed: is there a better sport than exy?
Aaron and Allison: YEAH A REALLY GOOD CAR RACE
*
Allison: you’re - you’re like the spirit of Lucy Liu. In Charlie’s Angels. I watch it once a day. Renee:.....that’s sweet actually :)
*
Neil: does a molotov cocktail
Matt: I tHoUgHt yOu wErE a PhArMaCiSt
Neil: Yes? That’s PHYSICS
Matt: no that’s ARSON NEIL
Alternative:
Kevin: breaks into the Pentagon virtually
Neil: breaks into the Pentagon physically
Matt, again: i thought you were a PHARMACIST!!!! Neil: Yes I am??? That’s irrelevant
*
A senseate sibling, escaping, grabbing a vehicle at random: someone knows how to drive that?
Allison, in stilettos : no, but I sure will soon
*
Just Allison driving Renee around to fight people
*
Everytime someone mocks a senseate sibling Neil or Nicky shows up to roast them. Sometimes they do it both at the same time. It’s apocalyptic. The sass. The drama.
They can also bullshit their way out of any situation. Neil is such a smooth liar and Nicky is just ridiculous. The FBI agent charged to arrest them somehow ends up crying abt childhood trauma while hugging a teddy bear.
Neil, caught in the act of making a string of explosives by the FBI guy: uuuuuuh….Nicky?
Nicky, currently dealing with a white mom in retail: somehow convince the FBI to buy christmas lights
(Yes Nicky works in retail bc his family cut ties with him but he hopes to be an actor.ON BROADWAY)
(From retail to actor to cluster negotiator real quick)
A fuckin moron to Allison: a hottie like you driving a bus? what is this, hooker on wheels?
Neil: please let me have this one
Allison: seats back and enjoys Neil roasting him
Nicky: brings the popcorn
Nicky, to the FBI guy: You can’t arrest me Daryl I’m your long lost little brother
The FBI guy, a white man: My name is not Daryl Neil: THAT’S WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE
The FBI guy, texting Neil (don’t ask): I guess I’m still in love with my ex
Nicky: aaaaaw we have to help this sweetheart
Neil: do you want me to burn his current boyfriend’s car, buddy?
(Nicky: DON’T REMIND HIM THAT HE’S SUPPOSED TO ARREST US)
*
A fuckin homophobe: ready to get your ass kicked, faggot?
Andrew: appears through Nicky
Nicky, smiling: fuck yeah, baby
*
Andrew, between two bazooka shot, to Neil: we’re nothing
*
Nicky, through Andrew, all cheery: Hi!!!! :D
(Aaron jumps like a scared cat)
*
Andrew: ready to kill ppl for mafia business
All the senseate siblings in the back minus Renee, eating popcorn and enjoying the show: Kick ass, Drew!
*
Andrew, on the hospital bed: has an emotional moment with Aaron
Aaron: sir or ma'am, idk who you are but it’s family only, I will ask you, as his doctor, to leave my brother’s body
*
Aaron: Andrew is2g if you’re making psychic love to that fuckin red hair rn i will-
*
Andrew each time a senseate is hurt: Aaron it’s for you
(Just Aaron doing med tutorials for a whole cluster while Andrew repeats it with a bored tone to everyone)
(Aaron, sighs: it is Neil again? Just let him bleed for a few minutes)
*
Neil, making bomb with kitchen stuff: If it means losing you then no
Andrew, falling in love: oh
*
Bad guy: You have no weapon, blondie!
Allison, with Renee and Dan behind her: Think again, sweetheart
*
They made a little “honorary cluster member” badge to Aaron (he does not cry STFU NEIL)
*
Dan and Neil both knows by heart the laws of different countries…..for very different reasons.
*
Luther: humiliates Nicky once again
Renee: calmly breaks his hand at dinner while smiling like an angel, all the while stopping Andrew from killing him with the other hand
*
Neil, a pharmacist: blowing shit up and arson
Aaron, a doctor, watching him: yk what hold my beer I know several ways to stop a man’s heart
*
The whole “You don’t know how to use a gun” “No, but you do” with andreil or matt and dan
*
Just Drew and Renee kicking some mafia asses together as buddies
(While Neil blows some shit up in the background and Allison/Nicky cheer)
*
Matt has the perfect ear too
Him and Kevin are the remote operation/communication team but one day all the fighters/criminals of the cluster are busy so they both start to fight as well and fuck they are good at it
Nicky: I expected this from Biceps Matt but Kevin??? You can land a kick like that???
Kevin, outraged: I WENT TO THE EXY OLYMPICS WHEN I WAS 16
*
Speaking of Kevin, they all call him “nerd” or “einstein”
Allison: so the nerd can fight uh
*
Aaron, counting down on his fingers: so you have F1 Pilot Superstar Allison Reynolds, former gold medalist and tech genius Kevin Day, a human diapason, a multilingual arsonist, World no.1 Taekwondo Champion Renee Walker, a cop, an actor…..what are you there for??
Andrew, literally a mafia king:....ice cream and crime?
*
Neil to Andrew, after the whole debacle with his father is out: You did know there were mafia out of Germany too, right?
Andrew: I can’t even have that for myself fuck this family
*
Dan, every time before each “mission”: okay guys I know we need to do it but I’d like to remind ALL of you *looks pointly at Neil and Andrew* it’s STILL illegal and morally dubious
Neil: …….like I said to Nicky, irrelevant *without missing a beat blows up the entire building and puts on stolen Gucci shades*
Alternative:
Neil: ok saint theresa why were you the one to suggest we explode Riko’s brain off then
Dan: ...don’t turn the conversation around me it’s about you
*
Allison “guess we’re detourning a place next” Reynolds and Kevin “It’s not that hard to pilot” Day
(Kevin: But why are you on a plane to Russia? I thought you were in India last time?
Neil:....don’t ask)
*
Aaron to Andrew, where they are trapped and betrayed: your boyfriend wouldn’t happen to know how to poison a whole room with gaz?
Neil: I was born for this moment
(Andrew: just bc you’re my brother doesn’t mean you have the right to dirty talk my boyfriend)
*
Andrew: be gay, do crime and eat ice cream
Nicky: AND BLOW NEIL’S D-
*
(before they know abt Neil’s past, when Andrew is angsty bc he caught feelings)
Andrew: You shouldn’t get close to me, it’s dangerous, i’m mafia
Neil: oh haven’t you heard-
*
Jeremy, bouncing out of nowhere: Hey Kev ! Love how you BI-nary code ahah have you heard of the ARCHIPELAGO
*
Neil, sipping tea: so my father is the Butcher
Matt: okokokok coolcoolcoolcool yk what arson doesn’t sound like a bad idea after all
*
(this one is not funny sorry) but Neil taking over each time someone is hurt bc he is used to deal with it
“Give the pain to me”
*
Andrew and Aaron like to fuck around a lot with the whole sensate stuff (since only one of them is a sensate)
Bad guy: only one of you is a sensate, which one is it?
Twinyard, in a perfect and flat tone: try to guess
A bad guy is spying on Andrew and waiting to kill him in Germany, via a cam, thinking he’s safe BUT SUPRISE MOTHERFUCKER it was aaron dressed as Andrew in a mafia meeting and now you have to deal with a 5 feet tall mafia boy
*
For real tho they are a little protective of the normal doctor who heal them every time (yes even Neil but don’t tell him) so you bet something like that happens one day:
Aaron: comes home from work angry
Andrew, cleaning up blood or counting money: whassup shithead?
Aaron: There’s this older doctor he’s great and all but he’s a fuckin asshole to me he belittles me everyday bc i’m young and we lost a patient today bc he rathers humiliate me than let me save him
Andrew, a dangerous glint in his eyes and a whole cluster behind him: oh?
Kevin, opens his computer and digs up dirt on him: give me a sec
Allison: I can roll over him with my truck
Neil: there is so many ways to mix two meds and kills him ON ACCIDENT
Dan: let’s see how he deals in prison
Nicky: oh this is going to be fun
Kevin, reciting facts like he’s reading a grocery list: so yeah he smuggles meds from the hospital so local drug dealers, illegally sells meds for himself on the black market, does tax evasion, is friend with a local senator and both of them are involved with minors….i have already several reservation at X hotel btw and cases of work harassment on nurses and interns, threats to others older doctors in serve, and OH. OH. We have a spanking kink on our hands too.
Every members of the cluster, turning to Nicky and Neil:....go wild
Nicky, giggling: not that’s it’s a shame when it’s consensual but not here so - let’s start with the spanking :D
Neil: Can I make him cry
No violence is used but the doctor is found on the floor drowning in his own tears after a few minutes and after an hour he’s resigned and leaving the country
Andrew was dressed as Aaron for that (that being: smuggling Neil and Nicky into the hospital to meet the doctor through him) and sends him a selfie of a 5 feet surgeon and the man crying on the floor
It’s their best memory as a family (Aaron hates Neil a little less after that)
Neil to Nicky: why did you stop me from pushing towards suicide??? He’s gonna do that in another country
(Kevin: no if I can help it)
Nicky: bc we don’t do that to people!
Neil, Andrew, Aaron, Allison:...........right
Neil: killing even indirectly is no good but destroying their life and humiliating them publically is good?
Nicky: YES!
Matt and Dan: WAIT NO
(Allison: don’t brother Neil you’ll just hurt your head)
(Neil, close to tears: but...but...but arson?? Andrew, with knives out: alright fuckers who broke his heart?)
*
Matt and Dan bc they’re fuckin weak to Neil: ITS OK BUDDY ARSON IS GOOD
*
I have to end on this note:
Storyline wise, Neil would have make the perfect Wolfgang too….if Wolfgang was a twink.
