People hate when I’m constantly talking about chocolate women and how I love being dark skin. I flaunt my skin tone because it’s the most talked about. Apparently being dark is bad so I uplift my skin tone even more. I know so many dark skinned girls and women including myself that have dealt with hate, discrimination, and so many negative comments about the color of our skin. So many girls feel as if they’re not good enough, ugly, and not confident. I myself had to grow to love the color I am and now I’m in love with it. Growing up dark skin was not the easiest thing to deal with as a kid/teen. Ive been called every name in the book. I took all of my childhood and until I got to high school to love myself on the outside. And have that confidence within myself. To love every part of my body. I was 15 and not understanding why was it such a big deal and the favoritism of light skinned people. Don’t get me wrong I love all skin tones & they’re all beautiful.. But when some tells me I’m pretty for a dark skin. What exactly are you saying? Because to me that wasn’t a compliment at all. To me you’re saying usually dark skinned people are ugly. You don’t hear people saying your cute for a light skin.. I just don’t get why mainly this generation is always competing with the color of their skin. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. There’s actually people out there that aren’t happy within themselves because they are dark complected and if you are one of those people.. I suggest that you should love the color of your skin and it shouldn’t matter if your light or dark. We’re all made different. Learn to love yourself and I promise everything else won’t affect how you feel. Because baby I’m chocolate and proud.
