Hey, all you wonderful women and fabulous moms! Sit back, pour yourself a cup of whatever (whether it's coffee, wine, or a protein shake), and get ready for a giggle because today was one for the books.
The Soapy Saga Begins
Imagine, you're feeling great, just finished your stationary bike workout, and you're vibing off your afternoon TruVy shake. The house is unusually quiet, and you think to yourself, "Could it be? A peaceful day ahead?"
Girl, don't kid yourself. Mother's intuition kicks in: *It’s too quiet.*
I walk towards Raelynn’s room, and I see it — the unforgiving FLOOD! Forget spa day; this is more like an unexpected adventure in indoor water sports.
Raelynn’s Soapy Experiment
Door swings open and—WOWZA!—it's like Niagara Falls had a baby and it decided to live in my daughter's room. There's Raelynn, standing in a puddle, clutching her Barbie like it's a life raft.
"Mommy, Barbie needed a bath!" she says with the cutest, most innocent look on her face.
"A bath?" I repeat, my eyes darting between her and the lake she’s created. "Honey, this isn't a bath; it’s a monsoon!"
Cleanup on Aisle Raelynn
So, there we are, my mom, Raelynn, and I, towels in hand, tackling her newly-formed 'Barbie Lagoon.' It was messy, it was soggy, but it was nothing compared to other things we could’ve walked in to! We laughed, we slipped (ok, maybe that was just me), and we transformed that flood zone back into a livable space.
Life Lessons and Laughter
Here's the deal, mamas: Motherhood is unpredictable. One minute you're a health queen, and the next you're a crisis manager dealing with indoor floods. And guess what? That's totally okay.
So let’s toast to the unpredictable, the messy, and the moments that give us those forehead wrinkles we pretend we don’t have. Keep living that mom life like the rockstars you are. When in doubt, wine it out! 🍷
Till our next mom-venture, keep slaying and stay slightly soggy!
XOXO,
Annie 💕

Unicorn Dreams Come True: Navigating Motherhood in a New Place
As the sun set on another warm Florida evening, I found myself reflecting on the rollercoaster of emotions and events that had filled my life over the past month. My daughter, Raelynn, was about to turn four, and our recent move to the Sunshine State earlier this year had thrown us into a whirlwind of change. While Raelynn was adamant about having a unicorn-themed birthday party, the reality of making new friends in an unfamiliar place weighed heavily on my mind.
Raelynn had her heart set on a unicorn-themed birthday party, and I was determined to make her birthday dreams come true. Little did I know just how much this endeavor would put my motherhood skills to the test.

As the days ticked by and Raelynn's party drew closer, a sense of stress began to creep in. The challenge of planning a birthday party in a new town was a challenge in itself. We hadn't had the chance to make many friends since our move, and I worried about Raelynn having a lonely celebration.
Then, a glimmer of hope emerged when my husband's coworkers expressed their interest in attending the party with their kids. Fearing the possibility of not having enough entertainment for the children, I decided to take a leap of faith and rent a bounce house. It was a decision that was proven to be a lifesaver!!
Tumblr media
On Raelynn's big day, the weather cooperated, the sun shone brightly, and the bounce house was delivered. Raelynn's face lit up when she saw the bounce house and all her friends. But the surprises didn't end there. In what felt like a scene straight out of a fairy tale, a "real unicorn" (or as close as we could get) made its appearance at the party, courtesy of her daddy's willingness to dress up and entertain not only the kids but the adults as well.

The stress that had been weighing on me for weeks melted away as I watched Raelynn and her newfound friends bounce, giggle, and play. The sugar rush from the unicorn-themed treats was undeniable, but it only added to the magic of the day.
With each passing moment, Raelynn's smile reassured me that we had made the right decision to create a day she would remember forever. As the day progressed, we gathered around the swing set she had received as a joint gift from her grandparents, great-grandparents, and her parents. The joy in her eyes was visible as she proudly showed off her new swing set to her friends.
Tumblr media
In the end, it wasn't just a unicorn-themed extravaganza; it was a day of connection, laughter, and celebration. As a mother, I learned that sometimes, taking a leap of faith and embracing the unknown can lead to the best moments. The stress of the past month had disappeared, replaced by the pure joy of seeing my daughter's happiness and knowing that, even in a new place, our family was building unforgettable memories together.

When You Think You're Getting a 20-Minute Shower Break - The Baby vs. Naptime Battle
Welcome back to Motherhood Unfiltered, where we share the raw and real moments of being a mom. Today's story is one that many of us can relate to—a tale of hope, anticipation, and the unexpected chaos that can turn even the simplest plans upside down.
The Elusive Shower Break
Picture this: It's midday, it’s raining (but a pretty rainy day), and the kids are (seemingly) in a peaceful state. Your older child is engaged in their tablet, a moment of silence you've been needing. The baby, after some snuggles and a bottle, finally goes to sleep. It's the perfect time for you to run to the bathroom for a warm, uninterrupted 20-minute shower. Or so you thought…..
Baby Time
Just as you're about to step into the bathroom, you hear it—the baby knocking on the side of their crib. A skeptical glance at the baby monitor confirms your fears: naptime is over before it even began. The baby is awake, and he's not happy about it!!
The Cry that Shatters all your Hopes & Dreams
You wander over to his room, praying that maybe, just maybe, you can trick him back to sleep with another diaper change & a quarter bottle. But the moment you enter the room, you're met with that “nails on a chalkboard” cry.
Battle of Wills
As a seasoned mom, you know this is not just any cry—it's the kind that escalates quickly, to the point where you're not only worried about your baby's distress, but also the possibility of an impending clean-up mission. 🤢 Your little one is determined to make himself throw up if it means getting your attention.
The Multitasking Mom
In an instant, your plans for a relaxing shower are tossed out the window. You become a multitasking mom extraordinaire. With the baby in one arm, you text your partner or your mom for emotional support and advice. Your older child, oblivious to the unfolding drama, continues to be absorbed in their tablet.
Soothing the Storm
You try everything in your mom brain to soothe the baby—rocking, singing, and even some gentle shushing. It feels like a race against time as you navigate the delicate balance of comforting your upset baby and ensuring he doesn't reach that point of no return.
The Endurance Test
As minutes tick by, you realize that motherhood is the ultimate endurance test. The warm, relaxing shower you had envisioned seems like a distant fantasy. Your only comfort is the knowledge that this too shall pass, and someday, you'll look back on this moment as a memory and just laugh at the things we go through as mamas!
So, here's to all the moms who have experienced the "almost" shower break, only to have it derailed by a determined baby. These are the unfiltered moments that define motherhood—unpredictable, messy, and full of love. While that shower may have to wait, the bond you share with your children is worth every moment of chaos and uncertainty.
