I said I would continue this with my Skyrim self-insert OC, Stalks-In-Shadows, and I intend to keep my word. Yes, I forgot for a bit, sue me. Now, let's get into it.

Alone: Stalks has been very lucky in this regard. Even for a born assassin, you think she would be alone for the majority of her life- wrong. She grew up alongside another born Shadowscale, Veezara, who quickly became her closest ally, and her closest friend through her training, and later, life. Because they were lucky enough to be sent to the same Dark Brotherhood sanctuary, which they both celebrated when they saw each other again, as they had been separated for the initial journey.

Betrayal: Once again, very lucky in this regard. You'd think as an assassin, betrayal would be fairly familiar. Well, it's actually not. She's only been through ONE big betrayal, and that was when Astrid sold her out for the murder of the emperor. Despite that, her Family fought while she raced across Skyrim to get home and help in the fight to save them, even at the cost of their home. Her closest friend, Veezara had come along with her on the contract, so he was spared of severe injuries. Astrid had the worst of it, her body burnt...she was unrecognizable for months. Lucky for her, Stalks doesn't lose faith in her Family so easily. She refused to kill Astrid despite her pleading. If she had been holding on for that long, than there was still hope of healing and saving her. And since Gabriella was still alive, they had a chance. She did accept Astrid's request to have her lead the Family, and left Gabriella to heal Astrid, Arnbjorn to be with her, and the others to figure things out. Veezara and her? They had a contract to finish...and a SCORE TO SETTLE.

Bound: She's been bound many times. Being an assassin is not without it's dangers. She's gained scars, most of which are not visible due to her pure white scales. Just a part of the thrill of the job. :)

Break: Break? Hmm. Stalks has never had a moment where she's "broken". When Gaius Maro broke the deal and said "Your Sanctuary's being put to the sword right now", she was FURIOUS. and terrified. and worried. The Penitus Oculatus guards that were with him had to hold her back from lunging at him...he got to say his piece and escape for that moment, but the moment he gave the word to kill her, and walked away, Stalks let all hell break loose. The only reason they were able to hold her back, was because she was terrified that her Family was dead. But she tore them apart nonetheless. Literally. Being blessed by Hircine and born under two lycanthrope Argonians will do that. Her blessing, her gift, got her and Veezara out of Solitude, through the marsh's of Hjaalmarch and all the way home to their burning Sanctuary in Falkreath, to fight for their family...the only casualties were the bastards who were a part of the Oculatus...that's the only time she's truly "broken". Aside from that- she wept for her home, and for Astrid's painful recovery...and she tore Maro limb from limb.

Desire: Stalks doesn't have many "desires". Other than the hell her Family has been through, and wishing that she could have prevented it from happening to begin with, she got lucky.

Failure: The failure to kill the true emperor the first time...and to prevent her original Sanctuary from being razed to the ground.

Fear: Now that, is an easy one. Losing her Family. A home can be replaced, and she doesn't fear death...but her Family is something she narrowly managed to save. And losing Veezara would be heart-breaking for her.

Future: Stalks is aware that her future is uncertain. A Child of Sithis. A Chosen One of Hircine. An Argonian. She has no way of knowing who will claim her soul when she dies. Will she be reborn in the Hist? Serve her Dread Lord, Sithis, in the Void when she dies? Spend eternity in Hircine's Hunting Ground's? Either way...so long as she's with Veezara, she'll be happy. So in a way, she's either hoping to be claimed by Sithis or the Hist, because either way, she'll be with Veezara, or she'll know when she's found him again in the next life. And she'll fight for that future.

Ghost: The only thing that sometimes haunts Stalks, are some of her past contracts. She's an assassin, not a mentally sick lunatic. What she does, is just her job, it's nothing personal. Her job is to kill someone who deserved it. Not get rid of someone who annoyed another person. She believes some of her contracts have been innocents, and when she believes it, she mourns and gives them a proper burial. That doesn't mean she doesn't feel bad every now and then.

Guilt: Many things. Killing targets she believed were innocents. The murder of the emperor who was even so kind to her, his killer, and not only accepted it, but simply asked that she killed Amaund in return. He didn't even fight her. Killing Gaius Maro's son. She feels no regret for killing Maro himself, but she witnessed the goodbye between him and his son. His son had a beloved, who made him promise to come back to her...he didn't get to keep his promise. She feels guilt for many things. But it's what she's good at, and it's her job. She won't abandon her Family.

Hate: She hates Gaius Maro. Sure, he's dead, but she can still hate him for what he did to her Family.

Heartbreak: For a short time, she was heartbroken to be separated from Veezara, when they were sent to their final Sanctuary. That one didn't last, thankfully. The other, is the pain Astrid was put through and the conflicting, painful decision she felt she had to make. The loss of her original home.

Hide: Even as an assassin, she doesn't have much to hide. She hid her lycanthropy, except from Arnbjorn, a fellow were-beast who could smell it, but that secret was exposed a long time ago, and she's grateful her Family took it so well.

Hunt: She is not "hunted" by anything. No. SHE is the hunter.

Mask: She doesn't have much to "mask". Aside from her face when she's on a contract.

Midnight: Another thing she's lucky with, she doesn't have nightmares unless something is on her mind. She's an assassin for Sithis' sake, she's seen enough to not be scared by most things!

Mistake: Mistake? The only "mistake" she can think of was killing the emperor "decoy". Granted, he was a snob, but he wasn't the true emperor.

Monster: Oooooh~ now this one, is interesting. Even as an assassin, she's not very "monstrous" on her own. Her were-beast form, however? It's pretty damn terrifying seeing as a were-beast of her kind is not even documented. It's always "werewolves" and "werebears". No one's heard of a "Were-Argonian". Mostly because nobody lives long enough to see her and tell the tale. :)

Nightmare: What do you think?

Pain: Physical or emotional? Emotional is probably worse in this case. She's been through physical pain enough that she's built up a tolerance to what most would consider an unnatural amount to most intense pain.

Secret: Her lycanthropy, to her victims at least, on top of her being an assassin.

Skin: She couldn't be more comfortable in her skin. And no, that's actually NOT sarcasm!

Torture: Been there, done that, are you even trying? (lol)

Wound: Like I said, she has an unnatural pain tolerance...HOWEVER. She was once captured for what she assumes to be at least a week. Thalmor. They were trying to get the location of her Sanctuary out of her. Lashed her back more times than she can count, caught her left eye, but she took it with stride. She never broke, and by the end of the week, Gabriella and Veezara were the ones to rescue her, erase any proof of her capture, and eliminate all the Thalmor who were aware of her existence. To this day, if she's stabbed LITERALLY in the back, she won't feel it. That's a pretty common attack when going after more defensive targets. She only knows they've stabbed her because she will feel a very VERY numb throb that lets her know she's been stabbed, which she uses to her advantage. She's a strong bastard. :)

wild card character bingo, skyrim cicero, because i can't decide if i should kill him again this playthrough

cicero skyrim….. is a character that exists..

my general take on him is that hes a silly guy. a funny little elf that learned how to kill. and thats it. i choose to pointedly ignore how he was for a time a tumblr sexyman and to me hes maybe The most sexless character in all of the elder scrolls. so i can keep my sanity. but anyway i usually keep him alive not because i particularily like him (and i salute my astrid stan mutuals who do kill him 🫡) but like i said hes just sort of a weird creature to me so in my mind i usually just like trap him under a glass and take him outside so he can fly away. and then when he shows up at the end of the darkbrotherhood questline im like damn i wish i had hit this thing with a rolled up newspaper till it died but oh well. so like in conclusion hes okay to me definitely one of the elder scrolls characters out there that exists 👍

1. What is their birthsign and does it have any large significance to who they are?

well i play her with the lord stone so that would probably count as her birthsign even though i only picked it for gameplay benefits... im not rly into astronomy irl or in elder scrolls so i couldnt fucking tell you what this means for her in-universe. she is strong and a warrior i dont fuckin know. it fits

3. What factions are they a part of?

dawnguard and companions! in that order. when she was still new to skyrim she heard about the vampire hunters and they heard about her and she was like "that sounds cool i love hunting" <- clueless that she's about to get a goth gf

after the business with harkon was done she went back to whiterun and became a companions, eventually a woof and a harbinger. then she reunited with her goth gf :)

4. Do you consider them canonically dragonborn? If so, how are they faring at their prophetic duties? If not, what made you decide to do away with that part of the vanilla story?

she is not dragonborn, no! that's what nerissa is for actually. i think it's a bit more gay when someone who doesn't actually kill dragons for a living would still charge one with reckless abandon if it was threatening her vampire gf. plus i wanted a fucked up mora-loving scholar/wizard dragonborn oc so i just inserted her in the story too (that's nerissa)

6. How old are they?

old enough! i don't really have an exact number in mind. maybe like late 20s early 30s if i had to pick; serana is way older anyway :P

9. What skills that they fall short on?

she is very bad at wizard (except enchanting). at best she can cast like a clairvoyance or a candlelight. her gf is a powerful ancient vampire wizard and her best friend is a fucked up mora-loving scholar wizard so it balances out though

13. What questline had the biggest impact on them?

probably the dawnguard one. got a goth gf out of it and everything

30. What is their favorite type of dungeon?

one with lots of vantage points and/or corners to sneak around and kill things :)

32. Would you consider them to be merciful?

generally yes! like she'll kill bandits and stuff but they menace the populace so that's different. and she'll kill harkon but he'd menace the populace and her gf so really he was just asking for it. the biggest instances of tahiri going out of her way to not be merciful were killing grelod the kind (completely justifiable), following that up by killing astrid darkbrotherhood (she kidnapped her and asked her to kill other people which is very antithetical to how merciful tahiri usually is), and (much later on) the whole silver hand as revenge for what they did to kodlak (but it was vilkas's idea anyway).
