“Such a good wolf.” Theo smiles, pleased by his pupils blown wide, in a quiet daze of bliss, the only thing left to think about is how badly he needs to get off.

He stops when he sees him, his body moving with his slow breaths. Theo’s ears twitch as Liam approaches him and then his eyes slowly blink open like his mere presence had awoken him. Liam could see his back trembling as he came near. The blonde werewolf sighs heavily and crouches in front of Theo. He pets a hand down his flank, completely disregarding the flinch Theo can’t hide.

“Any reason you’re here instead of where I left you?” his tone comes out softly. Not at all how he meant it, but seeing Theo like this made him feel warm inside. He wasn’t the evil chimera anymore. Especially when he shifts and rubs his nose against Liam’s neck. He could feel Theo’s guilt, the once repressed chimera letting Liam in on his emotions. He didn’t know whether he should be grateful. “I should be pissed at you, you know?”

Theo presses his nose deeper into Liam’s hoodie, seeking out warmth and comfort. Liam could feel the cold coming off of his body. Guilt took ahold of him as his hands threaded through the thick fur. He can’t ignore the fact that Theo disobeyed him, though. It’s that thought alone that wounded him. He had thought the new stepping stone in their relationship would be enough, but he still couldn’t trust the chimera.

Theo whines when Liam pulls away and orders the dog to get up. Liam could feel his reluctance but watches as fur was replaced by pale skin and four legs turned into two. He rises to his full height and looks at Liam reluctantly. He purses his lips sheepishly before averting his eyes in submission. Theo left his post and he could feel Liam’s disappointment all over him.

He takes a step closer to Liam to explain himself, anything, but he frowns when Liam takes a small step away from the chimera.

“Are you alone?” Theo asks, casually causing Liam to shiver, a ragged breath of excitement rushing through his chest.

“Yeah.” Liam bites his bottom lip, closely watching the door and nervous someone might walk in, ruining his phone conversation he’s quietly having.
