Paint the Town Red 🩸

“So they won.” Liam ridicules, taking in the view of Theo’s truck and the sleep deprived chimera, but making sure to scornfully call out what he already knows.

“It wasn’t a fair fight.” Theo struggles to get his viewpoint across and rip the proud look off the wolf’s face.

“You said that. Is this the point where I’m supposed to be impressed?” Liam laughs, taunting him with a smile.

“Fuck off.” He growls, the disappointment of having to admit his mistakes creeping up on him. It’s always there. Always at the back of his mind and throwing it in his face doesn’t make it any easier to swallow.

“I like you Teddy. You have a lot of potential. I might even keep you.” Liam’s fangs roll over his tongue, the hateful gaze in his eyes torturing Theo until he’s ready to snap.

“Get out of my truck.” Theo hisses, eyes laced golden.

“Only because you asked nicely.” Liam growls, with a sinister look.

A small shudder falls over Theo, haunting every thought in his head.

The wolf licks his bloodied lip and smiles.

“Yeah, okay. You act like the name Raeken means something.” Liam scoffs, sounding insulted, the expression on the wolf’s face mocking his wounded pride.

“That’s—

“Lost your spark. How pathetic.” Liam abruptly cuts him off, blood soaking his lips, as the fear of his latest victim creates a sting of old memories.

Who the fuck is this guy?

“You’re nice to look at. What a shame.” Liam wipes his hands on Theo’s shirt, still fresh with blood, and walks away.

Liam leans closer, their breaths mingling, his dark eyes glimmering with an inscrutable mischief and sincerity. “Because, Teddy, you have something that intrigues me. A fire that burns brightly even in the darkest of nights. And I have a penchant for the beautiful things in life.”

Theo's heart pounds in his chest as he grapples with the duality of Liam's nature —a predator with a magnetic allure, and a saviour with hidden motives. “And what do you get out of this?” he presses, trying to regain some semblance of control. Control, he’s now realising, he’s never really had in this twisted game of cat and mouse.

“Pleasure, of course,” Liam replies with a smirk. “Watching you squirm, feeling you melt under my touch. It’s intoxicating.” He leans back, his fingers brushing lightly over Theo’s skin as he assesses the hunter before him, a predator evaluating his prey. “But there’s more. I want to see how far you’re willing to go. How deep you’ll dive into this world of shadows and secrets until you snap.”

Theo shudders at the thought. He had always managed to keep a safe distance from the supernatural, yet here he was, tangled in the web of a creature he’s been trained to hunt. “I’m not like you,” he says, a hint of defiance creeping into his voice.

“Ah, but that’s where you’re wrong, Teddy. You just don’t know it yet,” Liam murmurs, his voice low and sultry. “You crave this, the danger, the thrill of the hunt, and now you’re caught up in something far more exhilarating than you ever thought possible.”

Theo feels whatever little of his resolve is left start to crack, desire battling with disbelief. “You think you can just toy with me like this?”

“I know I can.” Liam's smile is predatory, and the confidence in his voice sends a shiver down Theo's spine. “You’re already mine, whether you want to admit it or not.”

WIP Monday ⛓️🌹

(because I just finished chapter 5 after having like a 3 day block 🥳)

Liam sighs in agreeance with Theo. He bows his head to the dusty floor. “Why Hayden..?” The words escape his lips featherlight.

Theo exhales, couldn’t be regret etched on his face. “Call it a technicality.”

Liam sputters at the nonchalant response. She meant so much more to him than for her to just be a technicality. Like her life didn’t matter. Theo acted like he couldn’t care less.

“A technicality?! She died!”

“Yeah, and I saved her!” Theo shot back, his voice rising. ”Me! I did that, Liam! I was going to save them all!”

Liam’s eyes twinkle with mischief, his anger finally simmering. So, he does speak. Maybe getting Theo to talk will be easier than he thought. He just needed to be patient. With Theo locked away down here, time was on his side.

Voice quiet and steady, the easily angered werewolf replies, “And now she’s worse off than she ever was.” He pauses, looking him in the eyes. “You can’t play God, Theo.”

Theo’s face falls as he watches Liam walk away without another word. Liam pauses at the door, listening to Theo’s frustrated grunts and the creak of the metal frame of the chair as it struggles under the weight of the chimera. Pushing the door open, he leaves Theo alone in the dark, still tied to the chair. With hope, he would still be there when he gets back.

the writers putting a song with lyrics like ‘i don’t know where i belong’, ‘if i make it home when our worlds collide’, ‘help me find my way ‘cause i’ve been feeling so lost and afraid’, etc in the background of the scene where theo makes it clear liam has voluntarily chosen to ask for his help and starts offering insight into liam’s emotions— specifically his anger and how it’s really just a manifestation of fear— is so crazy like. you paired a song literally called NOBODY KNOWS with a conversation about how they feel and how liam wanted theo to be the person who came with him when he was worried about getting out of control. but i wasn’t supposed to read into any homoerotic subtext. oh Okay.

Made this in like 5 minutes cuz I loveee seeing this trend on tiktok and immediately thought of my babiess 🥹

It’s clear that Liam was Theo’s light throughout the season from the moment he freed Theo from hell however in these scenes to me, it feels as though Liam was the one who was lost in the darkness especially in the Zoo scene, where he got triggered and angry and Theo was there to help him and calm him down, literally proved that Theo was his anchor 😭❤️

The second being the elevator scene where Theo literally saved Liam’s life once again and helped him fight the hunters and the iconic “im not dying for you” scene 🫶🏼🫶🏼 to me it felt as though Liam finally saw Theo for who he was after changing and trying to be better and just being Liam’s savior hence the light :)

“What’s your favourite scary movie?” Theo asks, just as he comes to a stop in front of her front door. This is definitely one of his favourite parts of the whole night.
