i feel like some of you are unable to wrap your heads around matt being a flawed person beyond "uwu my flawed traumatized baby"

he lies, he's reckless, he wrongs and disrespects the people he cares about, he's a hypocrite of the highest order, he decides that sometimes he knows best and that he is right to bulldoze over the motivations of other people.

after outing ayala as the white tiger in court — which i do think is in-character, he's a great lawyer but he's known to take risks and allow his daredevil-ness to bleed into how he presents his clients — he tries to moralize to hector with borrowed lines from maggie. matt, with his current rejectionist viewpoint on vigilantism, thinks he has done hector a favor by making it impossible or hard for him to be white tiger. he makes false equivalencies and says things that he knows are bullshit because he's deluding himself.

despite all his altruism (which he is currently going on a year of suppressing), matt is a spectacularly self-centered person. it's an argument he and foggy had multiple times. but as the audience, we can see the extent of it in a way that foggy can't: matt filters the world around him through the ways he thinks about himself. vigilantism lost matt his best friend, therefore it is not only okay but right for him to take the white tiger from hector (it would protect his loved ones).

but we know that matt is still experiencing a great deal of cognitive dissonance. it's not really as simple as "vigilantism bad" for him, is it? so we get matt saying things he would not otherwise say, not only to justify himself to hector but also to convince himself.

daredevil is so funny because matt murdock is here with his only superpower being heightened senses/radar sense but throwing himself into fights like he's got the healing factor of Deadpool or wolverine. buddy if you fall three stories into a dumpster you're Gonna feel it in the morning. a knife wound to the arm is gonna stand out when you exclusively wear well-fitting crisp white shirts to work.

whatever you do, don’t think about how matt murdock’s holy silver cross necklace dangles in front of your face while he fucks you oh-so-deviously.

don’t think about how matt murdock's breath against your neck was like that of a silent confession, each exhale a sinful prayer that made you tremble from the need of it all.

don’t think about how matt murdock will have you moaning out a variety of expletives and the occasional ‘oh god, matt’ when he angles those dexterous hips just right.

don’t think about how matt murdock smirks at you with such sinful lips, or how they had been buried between the plush of your thighs only moments before.

don't think about how matt murdock's voice, intoxicating and rough, pulled you in like a prayer you didn’t want to answer. every word he uttered was like a unholy promise that set your heart racing with an urgency that was impossible control.

don’t think about the way matt murdock uttered praise down at your blissed out form was practically unhallowed — “come on, angel, you can get louder than that.”

don’t think about how matt murdock’s very touch was downright unholy. your skin beneath his tempting hands burned with nothing but pure need and desire, and it was practically etched into just features just how well he knew.

don’t think about how matt murdock’s pace was a rough, steady assault, each movement building a tension too intense to bear. it was almost if he was testing your limits, drawing you closer to the edge with every deliberate and divine thrust.

and absolutely don’t think about the way matt murdock has your back arching, eyes rolling back as pure euphoria washes over your angelic form. that silver cross of his dangled before you, taunting, served as an all too familiar reminder of how every intimate encounter with matt murdock was sure to be sacrilegious.

I think we need more fics where Peter Parker is genuinely a vigilante, like he's still the teen from the MCU who occasionally helps out the Avengers, but we really see him immersed in the vigilante sphere; dealing with Fisk, being friends with Daredevil, the Defenders, Deadpool, etc, taking on really gritty things that any other vigilante is shown dealing with. These fics always hold a special place in my heart. Especially when we see how this life mixes and clashes with his Avengers' life.

Couldn’t stop thinking about what would've happened if Matt actually answered the door, when Karen and Foggy showed up at his place completely wasted. So I made a few excerpts

[TRANSCRIPT: PANEL 1: Karen is laughing. Foggy bangs on the door: “Open the door Murdork!” PANEL 2: Matt opens the door: “You’re really making a lot of noise, Foggy”. Karen is giggling to herself. Foggy is excited: “He’s alive!" PANEL 3: Karen hiccups. Foggy puts his arm around Matt, visibly drunk: “Listen! Did I ever tell you that my mom really wanted me to be a butcher?”. Matt smiles to himself: “You don’t say” PANEL 4: Karen grabs Matt excitedly but stumbles over her words: “MATT! We HAVE to go to Mexico to pet.. the d-donkeys”.
