Humanity is obviously a central theme to DMC, but I have yet to see anyone mention how every single character within DMC is connected to each other with loss. I'd love to see a fanfic or even simple headcanons explore two or more characters' bonds over shared loss, especially ones that seem a bit odd.

Please, I beg to see Dante and Nico interact and see bits of Nell in each other. You guys, Nico and Trish bonding over demonology and devil arms, especially angus's research.

Idk how, but bring in Beryl. Have her relate to Lady over the overlaps and differences between their families. Beryl's dad went insane and died after possessing demonic power in an attempt to revive his late wife. While arkham killed his wife to possess demonic power and went insane and died. Not only that, they're both human devil hunters and have cool big ass guns.

(Ik Trish and Lucia dont out right lose family like most of the cast, but they still do experience loss. For Trish, it's her home and everything she knew until she left with Dante. In Deadly Fortunes, it's stated that she dedicates a lot of time to studying devil arms and demonology because she misses the underworld. For Lucia, she doesn't lose anyone, but she does have a loss of self after finding out she's a demon. Yall its a bit insane but parallels between Kyrie, Lucia and Trish with all of them having their worldview shattered. )

Thought other people couldn't see or feel him like you could you still like to occasionally mention him to strangers you know you won't meet again.

For instance, tonight you and Jack had to decide to get takeout since you didn't feel like cooking after work, and pancakes didn't sound good.

So as soon as you got home you called up your favorite food place, and began to place the order.

"What do you want dear?"

"Oh, a simple burger and fries are fine sunshine."

You smiled and nodded "and my husband wants just a burger and fries please!"

Jack's head swung in your direction, and he just stared at you. Did you just call him your husband?

When you were done with your call Jack immediately was at your side his hand on your face as he gives you a very passionate kiss.

When you separated you could see the love and adoration in his eyes "I think I really like being called your husband sunshine."

Joseph

It wasn't a surprise to see you and Joseph out around town. Ever since he got his job he loves to take you places, and get you things he couldn't before. However this time you insisted on spoiling him.

It was weird for him at first, but eventually, it felt nice to be taken care of. What he didn't expect was when the two of you stopped at In and Out burger for lunch.

You had made your order to the man behind the counter. When the man turned to Joseph for his order you spike up.

"My husband wants the number three please!"

While you continued to talk to the cashier paying for the meal all Joseph could do was stare at you. Not only didn't you remember what he wanted, but you call him your husband??

His face turned red as he looked away trying to hide it. It wasn't until the two of you were sitting at the table does he takes your hand, his face still red, but a smile on his face.

"Thank you my lovely spouse for doing this for me." He kissed the top of your hand his eyes never leaving yours "I love you so much."

Dante Sparda

Being the son of Sparda meant there was always someone trying to pick a fight with Dante. This was no exception as one of the local churchgoers decided it was a great idea to rant and rave in front of the shop.

While they didn't dare step foot in the building their voices could still be heard making Dante let out a sigh. He was seriously getting tired of this.

You would think saving the city multiple times would give him more credit than his name. Finally he stood and made his way outside.

He opened his mouth to yell but he was interrupted by your voice.

"HEY! Don't you guys have any respect? Do know how many times my husband has saved you from demon hoards?!"

The crowd grew silent, but Dante's brain was going a million miles an hour. You called him YOUR husband. Dante felt giddy like kid.

So he practically bounced over to you as he threw his arm around you. From the corner of your eye, you could almost mistake him for his younger self by how excited he looked.

"Now get out of here my amazing spouse and I have some other business to attention to."

V

The two of you were lying in your room. The light from the silent TV was the only thing lighting the dark room. It has been hard for V to cope with the fact the was no longer Vergil. It got worse when Vergil was around.

"It's like seeing a ghost." That is how V describes it.

Today happened to be one of those days so after the mission he asked to come over which happily accepted. As soon as he came over the two of you immediately ended up cuddling on your bed his face on your chest as you run your fingers through his hair.

You kissed the top of his head as you began to whisper sweet nothings to him. This is what V has been missing out on his whole life.

"My sweet husband. Always working so hard."

V's breath caught in his throat. Your....husband? Did you truly love him that much? He looks up at you with the biggest puppy dog eyes you have seen.

"Husband...?"

You smiled at him "Yeah one day I would like to make that true. If that's what you want too that is."

He stared at you a little longer before he smiled back at you "I would like nothing more my darling spouse."

I suppose I'm a little late to the party, but I needed time to collect my thoughts.

Here's the thing, everyone's caught up on Caiti's age and whether she consented. To me, that isn't anywhere near the point. Her being so young is certainly creepy and strange, but not the point.

Here's the first thing, though less important than the next. As an adult, it is blaringly clear how irresponsible these "adults" were. Two grown ass men supplying alcohol to underaged girls in a hotel room. They were up drinking until 6am. They were one noise complaint away from getting the cops called.

Second thing. While underage drinking in the US is fairly normal, 18 is still pretty young here. Also, publicly admitting to supplying alcohol to an 18 year old is crazy, but not the point.

18 year olds can't compete with grown adults when it comes to alcohol. They don't have the same tolerance. There never should have been any "one upping."

No one should have gotten that drunk. The fact that there was a girl leaving, vomiting in her hand is fucking ridiculous. When someone, regardless of their age, is drinking too much too quickly, you cut them off and give them water. This is how college parties are run. Once you start wobbling a little too much, your speech is slurred, and you stop being a person, someone gives you water and walks you home.

And nobody walked her back to her hotel room?? Two grown men. I don't give a shit how tired you are. You always walk a girl home. Who the fuck raised you??

I am an adult man in college. I have been around a lot of different men. I have hung around men that behave like this. Let me promise you this: they got those girls drunk like that on purpose. They both wanted something. When they didn't get it, they just let the girls go. They were never interested in their safety. They were never interested in who they were.

And let me promise you this: there's never just one girl. And any well brought up man would have cut them all off and sent them on their way. There is way more to this situation than lets on.

And of course George never asked for her consent. It was never a question. They brought those girls back to that hotel room with the thought that they'd get something out of it. To George, he heard 18 and thought, "oh cool, she's legal."

I see this happen all the time in college. Usually men don't grow out of all of it, but they usually grow out of begging like a shitty dog in some random girl's DMs. To hear a grown ass man, 26 years old, behave like a fucking 19 year old sophmore in college is pathetic. I'm not interested in giving pathetic men any more time.

Also, love and light to Caiti, she looks like she's 16. "I didn't know she was 18!" First off, doesn't matter. Second off, I would've guessed she was a minor, so I know you checked first. Or else you're even dumber than the fucking college kids. Damn.
