Big news today about "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" as the show teamed up with Audible to record a new story called "Slayers" that centered on Spike 20 years after the show ended and he's helping out a new teenage slayer Indria in LA pretending to be a villain again. While trying to find a watcher they get caught up exposing a multiverse and in a new reality were Cordelia became the slayer instead of Buffy and the big bad is Drucilla!!! :D The story was written by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden, and James Marsters, Chrisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, and Danny Strong are all back in their roles and newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes voices Indria.

They're going to be at New York Comic Con next month too revealing more about this and makes me wonder if others will be in the story too that they'll announce there. This story does remind me a bit of some of my old "Buffy" novels that was a 4 part series that included Buffy being trapped in another universe and us seeing one on the show before too. Also curious if what happened in the comics also happened in this story as well and what they'll mention about the other characters, and if this gets a print version as some of Audible's stories have.

The story premiere's October 12th and their NYCC panel is the next day the 13th.

What is it with me and fandoms that traumatize the main characters. Seriously in the past decade of my fanfic habits starting with the most recent.

Danny phantom: died at fourteen painfully brought back to life, but only halfway. Parents seem to want to dissect and/or vivisect him. Hunted by a sketchy gov agency, and a creepy robot man who wants to skin him. Not even mentioning Vlad...

Life is strange: groundhog day/week from hell. Watches best friend die/get murdered several times. Has to stop another friends suicide, potentially fails. Has to euthanize best friend in alternative timeline. Basically becomes reason for best friend's father's death. Gets kidnapped by a creepy pervert who likes to take pictures. And gets put in the position of the most fucked up trolley problem that might not even be one at all.

DC/Batman: do I even need to say anything 🤡🔫👩‍🦽,🤡🐦‍⬛🔨, 🔫👨‍👩‍👦, etc ...

Several cast members of the 20-year-old supernatural TV drama “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” are reuniting to slay again in a new Audible original, “Slayers: A Buffyverse Story.”

Original “Buffy” actors James Marsters, Charisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield Ford, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary and Danny Strong will star in the scripted audio original, with newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes joining the cast, according to Audible.

Picking up a decade after the final 2003 episode of “Buffy,” the audio series “brings fans a fresh story and a new world, filled with horror, heart, humor, and surprises at every turn,” and follows Spike (Marsters) as he goes “deep undercover in Los Angeles, convincing the forces of darkness that he’s back to his evil ways.”

“While he attempts to track down a watcher for his eager new protégé (DeLeon Hayes), their paths collide with the veteran Slayer of a parallel reality where Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) never existed…a reality where Cordelia Chase (Carpenter) is the one-and-only Slayer,” according to the official synopsis.

Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Eliza Dushku and David Boreanaz, who also starred in the original “Buffy” series, do not appear to be part of the “Slayers” project.

Along with Marsters returning as William the Bloody, Slayers also sees the return of Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase), Anthony Head (Rupert Giles), Juliet Landau (Drusilla), Emma Caulfield Ford (Anya), Amber Benson (Tara), James Charles Leary (Clem), and Danny Strong (Jonathan), as well as newcomer Laya DeLeon Hayes. Slayers is written by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden, writer of many Buffy novels, and directed by Benson, Golden, and Kc Wayland. In a statement, Marsters said “I’m ecstatic to be back with my dear friends for this next chapter in the Buffyverse, as we take listeners on a familiar but unexpected journey chock full of horror, passion and mischief.”

Workers are set to get more protection from sexual harassment in the workplace after MPs approved a new law.

The Worker Protection Bill, introduced by Liberal Democrat MP Wera Hobhouse, puts a duty on bosses to stop harassment instead of relying on employees to report incidents.

However, the bill had been watered down after opposition in the House of Lords over concerns it could expose employers to costly lawsuits.

One Tory MP said it had been "gutted".

In order to get the bill through Parliament, Ms Hobhouse and the government reached a compromise with peers to scrap a section which made employers liable for harassment of their employees by third parties such as customers or suppliers.

The wording of the proposed law was also changed - initially it would have required employers to take "all reasonable steps" to prevent sexual harassment, but peers struck out the word "all".

Reasonable steps could include putting in place training and carrying out impartial investigations into reported harassment.

The bill also means that there would be a 25% uplift to compensation for sexual harassment cases where an employer had failed to take the reasonable steps.

When the altered bill returned to the House of Commons on Friday, Ms Hobhouse told MPs: "I cannot stand here and say that I am completely happy with the amendments.

"But if I did not accept them the bill would not progress into law, and that would be a lot worse.

"The longer it takes for legislation preventing sexual harassment to become law, the more workers - especially women - will be left at risk of workplace sexual harassment - that would simply not be acceptable."

Conservative MP Danny Kruger said he did not think the new law was needed.

"I am happy that we have got to a place where the bill has been effectively gutted by their lordships," he told MPs.

"We need to stop bringing forward what I call performative legislation, intended simply to outlaw behaviour that we disapprove of."

Conservative minister for women Maria Caulfield said there had been "a strong level of concern" about the proposed law but added that the government had been "eager to find a balance".

She said she hoped the legislation would help prevent instances of sexual harassment in the future.

During its passage through Parliament, the bill received cross-party support from MPs, however it faced tougher opposition in the House of Lords.

Conservative Lord Hannan argued there were already "perfectly good, old common-law provisions" protecting people against harassment at work.

The Earl of Leicester said the bill could lead to customers having to agree to "formal and binding HR-style rules" when interacting with a business's employees.

The bill has now been approved in both the House of Commons and Lords and will become law once it receives royal assent.
