Em contrapartida, o medo de que notassem a parte incomum de sua vida e a utilizassem para lhe atacar, fez com que o Martin se tornasse uma pessoa tímida e bastante reservada.

A resposta para todas as coisas estranhas que aconteciam consigo lhe foi dada somente Quando completou dezessete anos. O seu professor de música, além de dar aulas, trabalhava em uma gravadora responsável pela carreira de diversos famosos do país e queria levá-lo para conhecer e tentar um contrato ali. O que Louis não esperava, era a presença de três pessoa famosas no ramo da música para ouvir a sua voz e analisar a sua capacidade enquanto músico. A pressão daquele momento transformou a mente do jovem em uma mistura de ansiedade, nervosismo e estresse. Sentia algo estranho acontecer em seu corpo, estava com enjôo e completamente atordoado, por isso decidiu ir ao banheiro.
