Rebel Grrrls #1 by Danny Harrell and Robert Ahmad. Cover by Ahmad. Variant covers by (2) Francesca Fantini, (3) Rich Woodall, (4) Becka Kinzie, (5) Danny Harrell, (6) Dongarra Harrell and (7) Daniel Lansdown. Out in July.
“Cursed with the power to resurrect the dead through music, three girls from rural Alabama set out to tour dive bars, basements and county fairs throughout the south. If making it as an all-girl punk band wasn't difficult enough, these cursed souls are pursued by a ghoul, disguised as a record executive, who has been tasked with using them to resurrect enough of the dead to overthrow the living. Despite the forces of hell patiently awaiting its time to rise, these riot grrrls are intent to prove that they're no sellouts, and that they can make their mark on their own. Will it be revolution, girl style… or Armageddon?”

Ep. 144 - The crash of the USS Shenandoah
In 1925, The US Navy's first zeppelin - the USS Shenandoah - was ripped apart by turbulence over Noble County. The 14 crew killed included her Ohio-born captain, Zachary Lansdowne. But after area residents stripped the crash site of its wreckage, investigators had little physical evidence to explain the spectacular disaster.

LEEDS UNITED 4 WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0 Leeds United: Casilla, Ayling, Jansson, Cooper, Alioski, Phillips, Klich, Roberts (Shackleton 90+1), Hernandez, Harrison (Dallas 77), Bamford. Subs not used: Peacock-Farrell, Berardi, Douglas, Gotts, Brown. It was so great to be back at Elland Road to witness our best performance of the season so far - against a team full of players who were playing in the Premiership last season - especially as our form since I was last here has been patchy to say the least, allowing Norwich City and Sheffield United to move ahead of us into the automatic promotion places. Leeds were third in the league ahead of this game, with West Brom, Middlesbrough and our next opponents Bristol City just below us in the remaining play-off spots. As usual, plenty has happened both on and off the field over the last few weeks. The EFL and the Football Association both launched investigations into "spygate" on 15th January, after receiving complaints from Frank Lampard and Derby County about the fact that Marcelo Bielsa had sent an intern to observe one of their training sessions. The next day, Bielsa called a press conference, and rumours began circulating that he was about to resign. Instead he took on the EFL, FA and all his critics by first of all announcing that he had sent a staff member to observe training sessions held by every other Championship team this season. He then treated the assembled journalists to an hour long coaching masterclass about the meticulous way he prepares for games. Bielsa has a team of 20 people who spend literally hundreds of hours doing video analysis of each of United's opponents, which builds up a huge database of information on players, tactics and formations to the extent that he knows exactly how the opposing team is going to play. Bielsa's obsessive attention to detail is truly mind-blowing. Sending an intern to peak over an opponenet's fence isn't really necessary and doesn't tell him anything he doesn't already know, but it's always been something he's done to reassure himself that he's covered all the bases.... To every Leeds fan watching this matchless display of shithousery, genius and football madness it simply confirmed the extent to which Bielsa is already a Leeds United legend. He completely owned Lampard, as well as demonstrating that he probably knows more about Derby County's squad than fat Frank does. Sadly, his audacious honesty was mainly spun in a predictably negative way by the media and a couple of days later the EFL announced that 11 Championship clubs had written to them demanding a detailed investigation of the extent to which Bielsa had spied on them. The 11 clubs behind the letter were: Blackburn Rovers, Brentford, Bristol City (whose owner Steve Lansdown also made a public demand for a points deduction), Derby County, Hull City, Middlesbrough, Millwall, Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Preston North End and Swansea City. The following clubs did not agree to back the complaint: Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers, Ipswich Town, Queens Park Rangers, Reading, Rotherham United, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic. It took the EFL over a month to decide that the appropriate punishment for Leeds United was a huge fine and a sanctimonious lecture. An EFL statement declared that: “After finalising its investigations into the incident at Derby County’s training ground on Thursday, January 10, the EFL reached the conclusion that the conduct undertaken by Leeds United in observing opponents’ training sessions is a breach of regulation 3.4. Leeds United has fully cooperated with the EFL’s inquiries and following a comprehensive review of all the evidence provided, the club has now formally admitted a breach of regulation 3.4. As a consequence, the club has been fined £200,000 (inclusive of a contribution to costs) and received a formal reprimand and warning to the effect that the club’s conduct fell significantly short of the standards expected by the EFL and must not be repeated. In addition, Leeds United has agreed to support a new EFL regulation that makes it clear that clubs will be expressly prohibited from viewing opposition training in the 72 hours immediately prior to a fixture, unless invited to do so. The EFL has informed all the Championship clubs who sought additional clarification regarding the conduct of Leeds United of the findings that relate to their club”....
Leeds United issued the following reply: “We accept that whilst we have not broken any specific rule, we have fallen short of the standard expected by the EFL with regards to regulation 3.4. We apologise for acting in a way that has been judged culturally unacceptable in the English game and would like to thank Shaun Harvey and the EFL for the manner in which they conducted their investigations. Our focus can now return to matters on the field”....
After the EFL made their announcement, the Football Association confirmed that they would not be taking any further action. Leeds United refrained from public comments while the EFL was making its deliberations, while being regularly pilloried in the media by various pundits and representatives of some of the other Championship clubs - which often included false claims about what had happened outside Derby’s training ground - and clearly took the view that it was better to accept the punishment and move on. At least there was no points deduction.... Leeds made two signings during the January transfer window - the first was goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, who joined from Real Madrid and immediately relegated Bailey Peacock-Farrell to the bench. The second was 17 year old midfielder Mateusz Bogusz from Ruch Chorzów - one for the future.... However, there was controversy on transfer deadline day when our apparently successful attempt to sign winger Daniel James from Swansea City dramatically fell through at the last moment. James, who wanted to come to Leeds, arrived in Yorkshire the night before, passed a medical at Thorp Arch and was driven to Elland Road around 6pm to complete the paperwork and go through the process of media interviews and photographs. Swansea owner Jason Levien is understood to have agreed the sale of James directly with Andrea Radrizzani. The deal was for Leeds to pay £1.5M to loan James until the end of the season with an obligation to buy the player in the summer, with the eventual fee dependent on whether or not Leeds achieved promotion to the Premiership. However, a late complication arose over United's initial intention to pay the £1.5m loan fee in June. Sources at United insisted they were willing to grant City’s late demand for £750,000 up front but were then met with silence from Swansea’s boardroom. Leeds claim that all attempts to communicate with Swansea in the last 90 minutes of the window were met with silence and as a result the deal could not be finalised. It later emerged that Swansea had pulled the plug on Leroy Fer's transfer to Aston Villa at the last moment in basically the same way. Swansea City are one of the 11 Championship clubs behind the letter accusing Leeds of breaching the obligations stated in the EFL's Regulation 3.4: “In all matters and transactions relating to The League each Club shall behave towards each other Club and The League with the utmost good faith”.... Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins resigned 48 hours later. After the "spygate" saga began, Bielsa began revealing his starting line ups in advance during his pre-match press conferences. Next up after Derby County was an away game against Stoke City in which we didn't play very well and lost 2-1. Pontus Jansson was sent off after receiving two debatable yellow cards, earning himself a one match ban. This was followed by a 2-1 victory against Rotherham that set us up nicely for an encounter with promotion rivals Norwich City at Elland Road. It was the biggest game of the season for both clubs but didn't really live up to the hype and turned out to be a relatively comfortable victory for Norwich, who won 3-1. Leeds as usual had most of the possession, but not for the first time were very wasteful in the final third - and at the other end, poor defending contributed to each of Norwich's goals. The only positive for Leeds was that Patrick Bamford returned to the bench and scored our consolation goal after coming on as a late substitute. A Leeds win would have left us six points clear at the top of the league, but we ended up level on points with Norwich instead. We picked up a decent away point at Middlesbrough a week later but the game was marred by a bizarre incident involving Jack Clarke. He played the entire first half, but after being substituted he collapsed while sitting on the bench during the second half, and had to be taken to hospital after being treated by paramedics. He hasn't played since then, although he is apparently back in training. The next game was an excellent 2-1 win against Swansea City, in which we somehow managed to lose yet another key player to injury - Kemar Roofe suffered knee ligament damage which might keep him out for the rest of the season. We also managed to beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1, but were then defeated by a mediocre QPR side who had lost their previous seven games. Izzy Brown played a 10 minute cameo during that game - his first appearance for Leeds. There was a lot of doom and gloom before the West Brom game but it turned out better than anyone could possibly have imagined. We got off to an incredible start with a goal after 16 seconds. West Brom kicked off and launched the ball forward, Liam Cooper headed it back into their half, Jack Harrison collected it, drove forward and then squared the ball to Pablo Hernandez who fired a clinical strike into the top corner from 25 yards out. Amazing.... Leeds dominated the game from start to finish and the fans were behind the team all the way, with non-stop singing, chanting and celebrating throughout. West Brom have a lot of dangerous players but they were never able to really threaten us because every time they got the ball we chased them down, harried them and took it off them. I don't remember Marcus Gayle having a single shot on goal and Kiko Casilla only had one notable save to make all evening. In contrast, we created several chances before scoring our second goal on the half hour mark. A neat passing move ended with Mateusz Klich sliding the ball through to Tyler Roberts on the edge of the box, who flicked it on to Bamford, who got behind the last defender and slotted the ball into the far corner of the net. We kept up the pressure and scored two more excellent goals in the second half. With 60 minutes on the clock, Roberts won the ball in the centre circle, beat one man and then found Bamford on the left side of the box, and his deflected shot beat the West Brom goalkeeper. Bamford has looked a bit rusty since making his comeback but on this evidence he's getting back to his best and will hopefully keep scoring goals for the rest of the season. Jamie Shackleton came on for Roberts in the first minute of stoppage time and started off another great move, which ended with Klich flicking the ball back to him as he ran into the box and provided a perfect cross for Gjanni Alioski to tap home from close range. All in all an incredible 4-0 victory that sent us temporarily back to the top of the league, but will end up meaning nothing unless we can somehow finish the season as strongly as we started it. With 35 games played it looks like a three horse race for the automatic promotion places, between Norwich (who beat Millwall over the weekend to reclaim the top spot, with 69 points), Leeds (who moved up to second, with 67 points) and Sheffield United (who only managed a draw against local rivals Sheffield Wednesday and moved down to third, with 65 points). Our next fixture will be a tough one, away at Bristol City. I still can't believe we'll get promoted, but at least we're still in the running....

St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne
St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne
Church in Melbourne, Australia
For other uses, see St. Patrick's Cathedral (disambiguation).
The Cathedral Church and Minor Basilica of Saint Patrick (colloquially St Patrick's Cathedral) is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia, and seat of its archbishop, currently Peter Comensoli.
Quick Facts Location, Denomination ...
In 1974 Pope Paul VI conferred the title and dignity of minor basilica on it. In 1986 Pope John Paul II visited the cathedral and addressed clergy during his Papal Visit.
The cathedral is built on a traditional east–west axis, with the altar at the eastern end, symbolising belief in the resurrection of Christ. The plan is in the style of a Latin cross, consisting of a nave with side aisles, transepts with side aisles, a sanctuary with seven chapels, and sacristies. Although its 103.6-metre (340 ft) length is marginally shorter than that of St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, St Patrick's has the distinction of being both the tallest and, overall, the largest church building in Australia.
Location
The cathedral is located on Eastern Hill in Melbourne, in an area bounded by Albert Street, Gisborne Street, Lansdowne Street and Cathedral Place. Just to the west across Gisborne Street is St Peter's Church, constructed from 1846 to 1848, which is the Anglican parish church of Melbourne.
History
In 1848, the Augustinian friar James Goold was appointed the first bishop of Melbourne and became the fourth bishop in Australia, after Sydney, Hobart and Adelaide. Negotiations with the colonial government for the grant of five acres of land for a church in the Eastern Hill area began in 1848. On 1 April 1851, only 16 years after the foundation of Melbourne, the Colonial Secretary of Victoria finally granted the site to the Roman Catholic Church.
Goold decided to build his cathedral on the Eastern Hill site.
Since the Catholic community of Melbourne was at the time almost entirely Irish, the cathedral was dedicated to St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland.

View of the main entrance to the cathedral
William Wardell, Melbourne's foremost ecclesiastical architect was commissioned to prepare plans for a cathedral, but the project was delayed by severe labour shortages during the Gold Rush of 1851, which drew almost every able-bodied man in the colony to the goldfields, and the foundation stone was not laid until 1858. An earlier building by stonemason David Mitchell (father of Nellie Melba and later partner of John Monash) was demolished for the cathedral. The cathedral was designed in the Gothic style of late Thirteenth Century, based on the great medieval cathedrals of England, in response to the revival of Gothic architecture as promoted by Augustus Welby Pugin and others as the most appropriate for the building of churches. The style is specifically Geometric Decorated Gothic, showing this style at its most complex in the large west window of the nave. The eastern arm with its chevet of radiating chapels in the French manner is still principally in the English late Thirteenth Century style, giving the most complete essay attempted in that style during the Nineteenth Century. William Wardell was a remarkably ambitious and capable architect; he went on to design the second St Mary's Cathedral, Sydney in a similar style, even larger than St Patrick's, but with a completely English square East End.

In 1974 Pope Paul VI conferred the title and dignity of minor basilica on it. In 1986 Pope John Paul II visited the cathedral and addressed clergy during his Papal Visit. The building also saw a green ban in the 1970s.
Construction
In 1858 William Wardell was commissioned to plan the cathedral with a contract signed on 8 December 1858 and building commencing the same year.

Although the nave was completed within 10 years, construction proceeded slowly, and was further delayed by the severe depression which hit Melbourne in 1891. Under the leadership of Archbishop Thomas Carr the cathedral was consecrated in 1897 and even then it was not finished. Given the size of the Catholic community at the time, the massive bluestone Gothic cathedral was an immense and very expensive undertaking, and there were long delays while funds were raised. St Patrick's was one of the two largest churches brought to substantial completion anywhere in the world in the 19th century. The other is St Patrick's Cathedral, New York, United States.
Daniel Mannix, who became Archbishop of Melbourne in 1917, maintained a constant interest in the cathedral, which he was determined to see finished after the long delays during the previous 30 years. He oversaw the addition of the spires and other elements in the late 1930s. The building was officially completed in 1939.
The cathedral is 103.6 metres (340 ft) long on its long axis, 56.4 metres (185 ft) wide across the transepts and 25.3 metres (83 ft) wide across the nave. The nave and transepts are 28.9 metres (95 ft) high. The central spire is 105 metres (344 ft) high and the flanking towers and spires are 61.9 metres (203 ft) high. The bluestone used in its construction was sourced from basalt deposits in nearby Footscray.
Restoration
To celebrate the centenary of its consecration in 1997, the cathedral was closed throughout 1994 to be upgraded. Nothing was added to the main building. Rather, it underwent significant conservation work, with funds contributed by the federal and Victorian governments, corporate and philanthropic donors and the community of Melbourne.
The cathedral's stained glass windows had buckled and cracked and required a full year to restore to their original state. Teams of stonemasons and stained-glass craftsmen used "lime mortars and materials long-forgotten by the building trade — like medieval times". The 1992-97 restoration works were undertaken under the guidance of Falkinger Andronas Architects and Heritage Consultants. The works were awarded the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (Victorian Chapter) John George Knight Award for Heritage Architecture 1996. One of the gargoyles restored by the masonry team was modelled on the then-Premier of Victoria, Jeff Kennett.
Music
Cathedral choir
There has been music at St Patrick's since 1858, but the present cathedral choir was founded in 1939 when the Vienna Mozart Boys Choir found itself stranded in Australia at the outbreak of war. The National Museum of Australia holds a collection of the choir's memorabilia from this period. St Patrick's choir has between 50-60 members who are all students of St Kevin's College in Toorak, through a scholarship program from the archdiocese. The choir has made commercial recordings in the past, mainly from the 1950s to 1990s. Selected recording before the 1980s have been deposited with the National Film and Sound Archive (Screensound Australia).
Cathedral singers
Formed in May 1996, the St Patrick's Cathedral Singers supplement the musical resources of the cathedral. They sing weekly at the Sunday evening Mass. Entrance is by audition and some scholarship are available to eligible students from the Australian Catholic University.
Pipe organs
The cathedral's original pipe organ was built in the late 1870s by Robert Mackenzie and completed in 1880 by George Fincham. The current installation built by George Fincham & Sons, Melbourne in 1962-64 and incorporates a substantial part of the original. Installed in the west gallery of the cathedral, it comprises 81 speaking stops spread over four manuals and pedals. Some of the stops can be dated to 1880 or 1896, when the instrument was enlarged. The organ was refurbished in 1996-97 for the centenary of the cathedral. In addition to serving the liturgical needs of the cathedral, the organ is occasional used for recitals and recordings.

Bells
The bells of the cathedral were acquired by Bishop Goold, Melbourne's Roman Catholic leader at the time, when he visited Europe in 1851–1852. He bought a peal of eight bells for £500 (with some records showing that it cost £700). They arrived in Australia in 1853. The peal of eight bells is in F natural, with the tenor weighing 12 long cwt 1 qr 10 lb (1,382 lb or 627 kg) and the treble 4 long cwt 12 qr 14 lb (798 lb or 362 kg). The peal set weights around 3,556 kilograms (7,840 lb). The bells were all cast by John Murphy of Dublin in 1852.
The bells were hung in a low frame at ground level in the western aisle in 1868. The consecration service was attended by around 5,000 people. The eight bell bears the coat of arms of Bishop Goold. The bells were eventually hung at the south-eastern tower.
The ringers of St Patrick's began the custom of ringing in the New Year in 1871. And by the 1880s, St Patrick's Cathedral became the leading tower for Australian change ringing. The bells were rung for the requiem mass of Pope Pius X in 1914. By 1959 the belfry fell into disrepair and the bells became unringable. The bells remained silent until in 1988, when the peal was sent to Eayre and Smith Bell foundry in England as the major Victorian project among Bicententennial bell restorations. Upon their return, a ninth bell, an Angelus bell, was added. An electronic chiming mechanism was also installed at this time for all the bells. The original manual method was retained by the electronic mechanism, in order to replicate how the bells would have sounded if they were rung by hand. The entire eight headstocks had to be replaced just ten years after this installation. The ringers are affiliated with The Australian and New Zealand Association of Bellringers.
The bells are unusual in that they were cast untuned, they ring anti-clockwise instead of clockwise, and they are thought to be the only ring of eight bells cast by Murphy which are still in operation today.

Best photos from Saturday's NHL 100 Classic in Ottawa
It was cold, snowy and the only way an outdoor classic in Canada should be played.
The Ottawa Senators braved the frigid temperatures and skated to a 3-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens at the NHL 100 Classic on Saturday night in Ottawa. A spectacle like this is always best enjoyed through photos, so here’s some of the best snapshots from the weekend’s festivities at Lansdowne Park and Parliament Hill:

Game Announcements at PAX Unplugged 2018: Metal Gear Solid, Medium, Clank! Legacy, and TMNT: Change Is Constant and City Fall
by W. Eric Martin
• PAX Unplugged took place in Philadelphia from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, and several publishers quietly announced games at the show or through one or more social media outlets, with IDW Games' announcement of a Metal Gear Solid board game from Emerson Matsuuchi being the buzziest reveal: [twitter=1068579678603149313] I saw only this banner when I visited the IDW booth, neither Matsuuchi nor anything about the game, but he has confirmed via email that Metal Gear Solid is "not a retheme of Specter Ops", so you'll have to speculate along new lines as to what this new game might be. • IDW Games also announced a new pair of titles in its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game universe that started in 2016 with Kevin Wilson's TMNT: Shadows of the Past. TMNT: Change Is Constant and TMNT: City Fall are both standalone games containing five unique heroes and more than forty miniatures in total, while also being compatible with one another. Change Is Constant follows the first two story arcs of IDW's TMNT comic universe series, while City Fall focuses on the story of one turtle's unexpected recruitment into the Foot Clan. Wilson is overseeing development of these titles, with the design being led by Daniel Lansdown and Pete Walsh. IDW Games plans to Kickstart this pair of games in January 2019, the same month that fifty thousand other games will also hit the crowdfunding site.
• At the 2018 Origins Game Fair, I played a single round of Medium from designers Danielle Deley, Lindsey Sherwood, and Nathan Thornton. Playing only one round is kind of lame seeing as it took at most two minutes to learn the rules and play, but it was late — and as it turns out, sometimes the smallest bites are the best ones, that nibble of something delectable that outshines everything else you gorged on during the day. Medium is a quick-playing party game for 2-8 players that challenges you to think like your teammate. Each player has a hand of six cards, and on a turn one player lays down a card, then their teammate lays down a card. On the count of three, these two people need to call out a word or phrase that connects the words revealed on those two cards. In my sample round, the words were "football" and "moon" (on cards revealed at random, mind you), so I called out "waterboys". (The football link should be obvious, and the moon link comes via this 1985 song from the band The Waterboys.) If my teammate Dan had also said "waterboys", we would have scored points. He didn't, though, so we then had to take what we had just said — let's go with "waterboys" and "half" since "half" works for both of the previous words — and on the count of three call out a word or phrase that connected those words. If teammates match on the second round, they score fewer points, and if they match on round three, they score even less. If you don't match after three rounds or if you freeze and don't call out anything at all, then your team scores nothing and refills its hands before the next team goes. Whichever team scores the most points wins. Chris Kirkman of Dice Hate Me Games had showed me Medium at Origins, and now Greater Than Games (Dice Hate Me's parent company) has picked up Medium for release, most likely going straight to retail in 2019. If you want to try out the game for yourself before it hits the shelves, you can download the rules and sample card packs from the BGG game page.
• Finally, we have this brief video announcement from Dire Wolf Digital, co-publisher of Clank!: A Deck-Building Adventure with Renegade Game Studios: Youtube Video For those not interested in a video, you can cut to the chase via this image:
Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated, due out in Q4 2019, appears to be a co-publication between Dire Wolf and Penny Arcade, and the game bears this brief description for now:
Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated extends the deck-building fun of Clank! with legacy-style gameplay! Found your own franchise of the legendary adventuring company Acquisitions Incorporated, and shepherd your fledgling treasure-hunters to immortal corporate glory over the course of multiple games. Your game board, your deck, and your world change as you play to create a unique campaign tailored to your adventuring party. Be cunning, be bold, and most importantly be ready...
I have no history with Penny Arcade, so I didn't realize that "Acquisitions Incorporated" was anything other than an in-joke until I saw this press release on the Dire Wolf website that provided background info:
Acquisitions Incorporated is the show that kicked off an entire genre based on a simple premise: "Friends having fun playing Dungeons & Dragons". Starting as a simple podcast in 2008, "Acq Inc." has grown into a beloved franchise encompassing sell-out live shows, video game appearances, and weekly streamed spin-off show, Acquisitions Incorporated: The "C" Team.

Spotify makes its stockmarket debut
WHEN Spotify, a music-streaming service, went public on April 3rd, its founder, Daniel Ek, rang no bells on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Rather than the “pomp and circumstance” of an initial public offering, the Swedish firm, which is widely credited with turning round the fortunes of the music industry, opted for an unusual direct listing. No new shares were issued. Bankers did not sign up new investors, set a target price or stabilise early trading. Existing investors were simply allowed to trade their shares publicly.
Despite the low-key approach, and even as other tech firms’ shares wobbled, there was plenty of interest. That will cheer other firms considering going public. The share price ended its first trading day at $149, comfortably above prices reached in private markets earlier this year. That values the company at $26.5bn, making it the largest firm to list since Snap last year, and the eighth-largest tech listing ever.

Like many other tech “unicorns”, or startups valued at over a billion dollars, Spotify has yet to turn a profit. With over 70m paying users (see chart) and, by its own estimate, a 40% market share, it has plenty of appeal. But investors will be watching for signs of slowing revenue growth, says Laith Khalaf of Hargreaves Lansdown, a stockbroker. Spotify’s main rivals, Apple, Amazon and Google, have deep pockets. Low prices and bundled services could lure its customers away. If record labels were to demand higher royalties, that would increase its costs.
Traders took a few hours to reach a price—hardly surprising, since sales were not lined up in advance. Oversupply did not flood the market, even though existing shareholders were not subject to the usual lockup period. Nor did undersupply lead to jerky pricing.
Spotify has shown that direct listing is feasible. Matthew Kennedy of Renaissance Capital, a research firm, reckons Spotify saved over $30m in fees to investment banks (although some were paid for advising on the listing).
Bankers need not fret for their futures, however. Spotify was hardly typical of the usual run of firms going to market. Its brand needed no introduction. It did not need to raise capital: the listing was a way for existing shareholders to cash out. Even if another company were in a similar position, its founders might prefer to pay bankers’ fees rather than run the risk of early volatility. And some, no doubt, would like to have their moment in the limelight.

Championship promotion race: Norwich and Sheffield United lead the charge for Premier League places
The race for one of the most lucrative football prizes, promotion to the is popping up in the championship
In the next two days, the picture will be clearer for those clubs fighting at the top, with Norwich and Sheffield United chasing after those £ 160 million windfall in the automatic promotion spots.
With only six games left of the season, here is the low point for the riders who compete for the place at the top table of English football.
NORWICH CITY
84 points from 40 games, +34 goal difference
Delia Smith is already planning a promotional banquet. The Canary Islands have almost succeeded in escaping from the coal mine that is the championship and they would go to the play-off sites only for a disastrous form.
The side of Daniel Farke was not exactly loved at the start of the season, but was beaten six times.
With a winning series of eight games behind them, probably against nine against relegation-endangered reading on Wednesday, it looks clear from here.
Teemu Pukki has been pounding them in this season and will enjoy taking his counter from 26 to 30 by the end of this campaign.
This young, lively side is a surprise package, I love a late goal and will be welcome in the Premier League when they finish the job.
Still to come: [April1917] April 10 – Lecture (H), April 14 – Wigan, April 19 – Sheffield Wednesday (H), April 22 – Stoke 27 – Blackburn (H), 5 May – Aston Villa (A).
Teemu Pukki leads the competition with 26 goals and Norwich seems to win the championship. "

2. SHEFFIELD UNITED
77 points out 40 games, + 30 goal difference
What a fantastic job Chris Wilder did to lead the magazines to an automatic promotion site with six games and left over.
They lead Leeds alone in a lonely place and this struggle can come to the wire.
West Brom are seven points back, so it seems a straight duel between the two northern powerhouses for the second unless Norwich unravels. Billy Sharp has taken a remarkable form and has placed Sheffield United in second place "
Sharp is in a remarkable form and has shot Sheffield United in second place"
Billy Sharp took a remarkable form and fired Sheffield United in 2nd place
While Norwich Pukki had to bear the target charge, Sheffield United relied on the razor-sharp instinct and the ability to capture the 33 -year-old Billy Sharp.
There is still life in the old dog and they will need it to shoot when Leeds carries out the final attack.
On Wednesday evenings, they head to St Andrew's to defeat Birmingham and visitors there have had a terrible recent record. The Blues have won their previous four league games against United at home and kept a clean slate in three of them.
With winnable games against Millwall and Ipswich still to come, Wilder may have quiet confidence in delivering an unlikely promotion.
Still to come: [10april1945] April 10 – Birmingham (A), April 13 – Millwall (H), April 19 – Nottingham Forest (H), April 24 – Hull Chris Wilder will know that it looks like a straight shootout with Leeds for automatic promotion "class =" blkBorder "img Chris Wilder will know that it looks like a straight shootout with Leeds for automatic promotion"

3. LEEDS UNITED
76 points from 40 games, + 24 goal difference
The 1-0 defeat of Birmingham on Saturday came at a terrible time for Marcelo Bielsa & # 39; s side.
They have played quite a sparkling football this season and most people seem to have a weakness for the extremely crazy but fascinating manager (with the exception of Frank Lampard).
How will the obsessive streak of the Argentines deal with the nerves of a scrap with Sheffield United over six games?
As an impartial observer, it would be wonderful to see Leeds again in the Premier League, but instability has become an integral part of life on Ellend Road.
Predictions in the championship are a silly game, especially when it comes to whites. They visit Preston on Tuesday night and can raid Sheffield United with a win and seize that mental initiative.
They would not mind if the low Ipswich lurked until the last day of the season, but games against Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa are probably crucial.
Still to come: April 9 – Preston (A), April 13 – Sheffield Wednesday (H), April 19 – Wigan (H), April 22 – Brentford Aston Villa (H) , May 5 – Ipswich (A)
<img id = "i-cca81a688c89aba1" src = "https://dailym.ai/2G2pdov /12050230-6902703-image-a-43_1554813935947.jpg "height =" 488 "width =" 634 "alt =" Marcelo Bielsa & # 39; s Leeds are fantastic to see but have been defeated by Birmingham "class =" blkBorder img- share

4 WEST BROM
70 points from 40 games, +23 goal difference
The Baggies could still snatch automatic promotion, but it would be an almost flawless run-in with others require results on the road.
Few would like to see West Brom in the playoffs and their team is incredibly strong for the championship.
Everything less than promotion should fall as a disappointment and Darren Moore paid the price for his party's performance in proportion to those lofty expectations. Dwight Gayle is one of the many strong players and West Brom looks for the play-offs.

Dwight Gayle is one of the a large number of strong players and a West Brom look for the play-offs
Caretaker boss James Shan suffered the first defeat of his temporary tenure against Millwall at the weekend and a difficult trip to Ashton Gate on
With a ten-point lead over Derby in seventh place, it seems that the Baggies will have been shot at least through the playoffs.
Winnable games against Reading and Rotherham combined with a few points from elsewhere should seal the deal.
Still to come: April 9 – Bristol City (A), April 13 – Preston ( H), April 19 – Hull (H), April 22 – Reading (A), April 27 – Rotherham (H), May 5 – Derby (A)
5. Aston Villa
Another club from the Second City with ambitions of Premier League football. It has been a strange season for Villa, but they are currently one of the teams in the rankings.
Six victories over the trot for Dean Smith's men threw them in the middle of the playoff race.
This storied club is another giant that sleeps and spotted in the playoffs is far from certain. Villa is seven points drifting from West Brom and only three for Derby on the seventh.
The shape of Jack Grealish is probably crucial for Aston Villa during the last six games "
<img id =" i-af50a9053891caff "src =" https://i.dailymail.co .uk / 1s / 2019/04/09/13 / 12050614-6902703-image-m-46_1554814202710.jpg "height =" 457 "width =" 634 "alt =" crucial for Aston Villa during the last six games "
The shape of Jack Grealish is probably crucial for Aston Villa during the last six games
If you can keep up with the momentum, start with Rotherham on Wednesday night It would be no surprise to see them at Wembley in May of the season with hesitation when they look away at Leeds and Norwich at home, but the Canary Islands may already be on the beach.
to arrive: [10april1945] April 10 – Rotherham (A), April 13 – Bristol City (H), April 19 – Bolton (A), April 22 – Millwall 27 – Leeds (A), May 5 – Norwich (H)
6. Bristol City
Bristol City has that sweet, sweet game against West Brom on Tuesday night.
Undoubtedly, Ashton Gate will bounce and with the support of billionaire Steve Lansdown, the Robins can become an established top flight in the future.
They were able to capture Villa on the fifth with a win and distance from the chasing group.
But is this their year? Lee Johnson has many admirers and the 37-year-old has strengthened the club, but April 27 can be vital to their immediate ambitions.
They play Derby at home and a win can mean a lot in the play-offs. The Saturday trip to Aston Villa will also be a big game. Aston Villa (A), April 19 – Reading (H), April 22 – Sheffield Wednesday (A), April 19 -, April 27 – Derby (H), April 30 – Millwall (A), May 5 – Hull (A)

7. Derby
Frank Lampard's rams also have a game in hand and are the best placed side to break into the top six.
It was a very impressive first season for the Chelsea legend, and the promise of the first half of the season declined somewhat in 2019.
That said, nine points from their previous five games have Derby going to shake at the end of the season. After that it's Blackburn and then Bolton, so Lampard will think of his chances of six points.
<img id = "i-ff38e7deefeb1d7c" src = "https: //i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2019/04/09/13/12050644-6902703-image-a-49_1554814385335.jpg "height =" 417 "width =" 634 "alt =" Derby has a game in and can enter the top six with a win against Blackburn "<img id =" i-ff38e7deefeb1d7c "src =" https://dailym.ai/2UtiKNB -image-a-49_1554814385335.jpg "height =" 417 "width =" 634 "alt =" <img id = "i-ff38e7deefeb1d7c" src = "https://dailym.ai/2G1UBof 04/09/13 / 12050644-6902703-image-a-49_1554814385335.jpg "height =" 417 "width =" 634 "alt =" <img id = "i-ff38e7deefeb1d7c" src = "https: //i.dailymail .co.uk / 1s / 2019/04/09/13 / 12050644-6902703-image-a-49_1554814385335.jpg "height =" 417 "width =" 634 "alt =" Derby has a game in hand and can go to the top six with victory against Blackburn
8. Middlesbrough
The possibilities of the possibility are in no way about Middlesbrough being able to make the play-offs but at the moment it seems unlikely.
Tony Pulis put a terrible run of six consecutive defeats under pressure, the first time since 2000 that Boro did this.
Rounding off the season against Rotherham and Reading should certainly help their chances if they are still in contact with the big boys. Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis saw his party lose the last six games in a row "
] Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has seen his party lose the last six games in a row"
Middlesbrough manager Tony Pulis has lost his side in the last six games
This trio is sitting all at 57 points and still has a real chance to reach the playoffs. You would think they should win at least four of their remaining six games, and perhaps Preston have the best chance of winning three. A few defeats would all confirm a new season in the championship.

The world’s largest festival of light, music and ideas, Vivid Sydney returns in 2018 with a spectacular new precinct at Luna Park, the return of much-loved Customs House, and a fantastical blend of everyday objects and Australian-inspired motifs on the sails of the Sydney Opera House. Vivid Sydney 2018 – Lighting of the Sails by Jonathan Zawada
Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Adam Marshall said, “Vivid Sydney has delighted and inspired people from around Australia and the world. With the Festival now in its 10th year, visitors and locals alike can once again expect to be mesmerised by the Vivid Sydney program, with larger installations and a gripping Music and Ideas offering, so I encourage visitors to start planning their trip early to get the most out of this year’s exciting line-up.

Vivid Sydney is owned, managed and produced by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW and in 2017, attracted a record-breaking 2.33 million attendees to Vivid Sydney, delivering an incredible $143 million of visitor expenditure into the NSW economy.
VIVID LIGHT For the first time, Vivid Sydney’s dazzling Light Walk extends to new precinct Luna Park Sydney, where the iconic amusement park comes alive with large-scale projection on the facade of Coney Island. The show celebrates the history, magic, creativity, engineering, fantasy and imagination that have come together to create millions of memories on this unique and special site. This year also marks the first time Luna Park’s iconic Ferris Wheel will be lit for the festival following an LED refit, which has included a massive boost in the number of lights adorning the wheel. Vivid Sydney 2018 Vivid Sydney’s bright lights will illuminate the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney again in 2018, where visitors will follow a pathway that weaves through an exciting nocturnal environment inspired by nature. Here, Parrot Party inspired by the New Zealand Kea Parrot and the Australian Rainbow Lorikeet, comes alive as people gather, breaking into song and radiating colourful light. Aqueous will dazzle with its interactive landscape of meandering pathways of light, which will flow and glow in full illuminated interactivity, engaging visitors in collaborative play. The Bloom, a giant electric, metallic flower with petals adorned with mirrors that refract and reflect light, puts you in the centre of the flower capturing the perfect photo moment, and He’e nalu gives the joyous sensation of surfing a wave.
In celebration of their 100 year anniversary, May Gibbs’ iconic and immortal characters, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and their stalwart companions come to life on the faade of Customs House, as they journey through the Australian Bush and encounter the weird, the wonderful, and things quite unknown altogether. This whimsical piece will be narrated by renowned Australian film and television actress Noni Hazlehurst AM, Patron of the Australian Children’s Laureate, and beloved by Play School devotees far and wide.
All eyes turn to the World-Heritage listed Sydney Opera House at the centre of the Vivid Light Walk for Lighting of the Sails, created in 2018 by award-winning Australian artist Jonathan Zawada. An art-meets-technology water fountain, light and laser experience takes Darling Harbour visitors into a dream-like dive under the ocean, while the iconic rooftop of the Australian National Maritime Museum will be projected with BBC Earth and Sir David Attenborough’s Blue Planet II, exploring the fascinating world beneath the waves.
A pop-up market inspired by the colourful neighbourhood street markets of Brazil, built from scaffold and recycled materials and lit by lasers will transform the Chatswood CBD. The Concourse will take visitors on an immersive, deep dive into space featuring NASA’s amazing imagery and 360-degree projection.
Barangaroo glows under layers of light and sound that evoke the surrounding waterways, with the precinct coming to life through the magnificent art of puppetry with a breathtaking, giant luminescent creature venturing along the waterfront in a theatrical display of sound and light.
Precinct contributor Coca-Cola returns to light up the streets of Sydney’s iconic Kings Cross and to support another KX program in 2018. The colourful strip along Darlinghurst Road will be transformed with a spectacular display of light and life.
