if we stick to the timeline that the miskatonic massacre occurred around october 23rd or 26th 1985,

and the events of bride happened 8 months later,

then these evil gay fucks really came back to terrorize arkham during pride month.

Herbert West is such an interesting character to me. His whole being radiates an ugly car crash; it's horrible, it's gory, you're probably going to hell for watching but you just can't look away. His past remaining mysterious in the first release adds to this radiance from an audience perspective.

But the uncut version just makes him more of an enigma to Daniel. We, the audience, learn just a bit more about his backstory which should explain his character. But to Daniel, it only raises more questions. We saw what happened to Gruber but Daniel didn't, all he has to go off of is what he's told by others. When Herbert is vulnerable in the self-injection scene, we see Daniel come to a realization.

This man who has beaten death not only for himself and Daniel, this man who has ruined his life, this man who should probably have a strain of the plague named after him is exactly that; a man. Herbert goes through withdrawal for a split second in front of Daniel and suddenly everything makes sense. But just is the case with everything, the more questions that get answered; there are always going to be more left unanswered. Daniel saw that the work isn't just for Herbert's satisfaction, so who is it for?
