Also just wanna I AM A HUGE shipping fan of Mater & Holley.

They are such a cute & unique couple that I wish we saw more of them together if only Pixar wasn’t trying to ignore Cars 2 into nonexistental oblivion.

I’d take it over Holley x Finn which I don’t mind the ship but it just feels a bit cliche compared to Mater x Holley plus I see them as more of close bonded work partners than a couple.

But gosh dangit! Let them date again Pixar!!! Let me see our fav British spy & rusty silly hillbilly together again pls 😭

I'm glad you're so passionate about them! Shipping as a general practice is not really my thing, so I don't have much to add to this, but I support you!

I am thinking a lot about Coco.  I’m thinking a lot about “Poco Loco.” I know “Remember Me” is the big song and all, but just...I’d bet that scene is the first time Hector really performed for a crowd like that in almost a century, the first time he really sang one of his own songs with another person with that absolute joy, and just how it came back to him, and yes of course music in movies always winds up looking natural, but they do just enough to show the two of them looking at each other and cueing each other to make it feel like they’ve got chemistry, and Hector is so happy and tells Miguel he’s proud of him...

AND ALL THE WHILE HE THINKS THIS IS THE GREAT-GRANDSON OF THE MAN WHO STOLE HIS MUSIC

He might not know that Ernesto poisoned him, but he sure knows Ernesto stole his music and never gave him a lick of credit or mentioned his name to another soul, and took his incredibly personal song that he wrote for his daughter and turned it into a cheap flashy ballad about a tom-cat ladies man. Knowing that and with all his bitterness, and he still just connects with Miguel like that.  Or maybe part of him was thinking it was almost like reconnecting with his old friend like when they were children.

Also, I love that the first song Miguel hears him sing is “Everyone Knows Juanita.” Not just because it’s cute and funny, but because Hector is defined by the lullaby he sung for his little girl, and in a way, the first song Miguel hears him sing also functions as a lullaby.

I just...I am emotions about Coco.  And Hector. Mostly Hector.

More on The Aken-Hamada Collective—you know, that AU where Obake and Cass are siblings?  I’m sure y’all thought I forgot about this, didn’t you? XD

Anywho…yeah this is what these two nerds do when the boys stay over at their friends’ houses for the night.  As I said before, I figure the Akens grew up in their equivalent of the 90s/00s so they probably grew up on boy bands—which makes it funny when 4 2 Sing shows up because:

Aunt Cass and Uncle Bob exchanged confused glances at that statement.

“The boy band market hasn’t been saturated since…I don’t know, when did the Jonas Brothers break up?” she asked.

“You don’t want to know,” Uncle Bob said.

“And why not?”

“Because the number of years ago it was is depressing.”

Aunt Cass went quiet at that, evidently calculating—

Buried her face in her hands after a few moments.

“And what did I tell you?”

Which is a total mood and the main reason I dislike Pixar’s new movie Turning Red is because I did not need to be informed that the Backstreet Boys were twenty years ago, dangit.

In other news, Cass is wearing an Oh Boyz shirt—since Big Hero 6: The Series and Kim Possible had the same people work on it, I figure there’s some crossover (they might have actually met Kim Possible once when they were kids and Obake kidnapped a boy band for Cass for her birthday).  2004 is the year the “Oh Boyz” episode aired and I was not ready for that to be that long ago. D:  Obake, meanwhile, is wearing a sweater that says I get my coffee from Austinbul—I have a bunch of those novelty touristy T-shirts from Dad buying them for me and I actually really love the personality that goes into them. :D Which means at some point I’m going to have to do the rest of Obake’s sweater so we can see it….

Did this in my sketchy-sketch and monochrome style, which I love—focusing on shading and tone is a fun challenge I like to impose on myself sometimes. :D

Also, it occurs to me that since these two goof off like this and possibly know the whole song and dance routine by heart, the “Krei-oke” episode might actually go like this:

“Remember how you said I could cash in on that favor?” Aunt Cass asked.  “I’m cashing in right now.”

Uncle Bob made a face at that.  “Now see, when I said that, I was hoping that’d involve helping you hide a body.”

She waved him off.  “Oh please, I know you’ll do that for free—this I know I have to cash in on for you to do.”

Uncle Bob looked like he was very dearly regretting everything leading up to this.  “In front of people?”

“Yes, Bob, that’s what karaoke is.”

Apparently this is the first photo of Barbie Toys Story 4 Fashions. Credit in photo.

Now does anyone know how Mattel still has the rights to Toy Story? Is it because the deal was made with Pixar and not Disney? Or is it because it was negotiated so that Barbie could appear in the film, Mattel gets the toy rights? Hmmm...

Alternatively, was the rights grab by Hasbro a couple years back exclusively for the Disney Princesses? (Because I know Hasbro also makes Marvel's toys...)

It probably sounds dumb to be interested in stuff like this, but dangit I want to know lol

Autumn, definitely! It has temperate weather like spring, but leaning towards the cooler side and with less allergens in the air. 

2. If you could tell your past self one thing you know right, what would it be?

3. Favorite lotion brand?

What sort of power? Like, spirit-ball power? Raw muscular strength? I’d find a way to hurt myself either way, so I’d say peeking into the future.

WALL-E. Pixar is Disney, it counts. 

7. One thing you wish you could tell someone from your past?

8. One place in the world you want to visit?

The USA, particularly LA! I want to visit many places, but this one has so many fantastic people and I’m kinda homesick.

Urchins Honestly, I love so many sea creatures. I’d have to say a cuttlefish, though!

11. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be?

Hm... there was a big kerfuffle for me in 2012, so I guess I wouldn’t have done the thing that caused that?

This guy. Lelouch vi Britannia. Time to bury myself again.

2. Your favorite trope for a character. What are the characteristic that would make you like them no matter what?

Incongruity between appearance and personality. I adore happy-go-lucky characters that are surprisingly knowledgeable/ready to cut someone, and characters that are frightening to look at but actually really sweet. 

3. A book that made you cry?

Wheel of Time. The last book kicked me in the gut. I was okay up until a certain part with a certain girl and then I was a mess for the rest of the battle. Which was half the book. I cried because I was happy. I cried because I was sad. I cried because I was stressed. I cried because no goddammit he should be dead kill him let him die he’s the worst chara- 

4. Do you think you’d be able to murder someone?

Maybe. It really depends. I know a lot of ways how, and physically I’m pretty sure I could, but I’m too rational and empathetic for my own good.

5. Your favorite character right now from any work and why?

hhhhHHHHhhh Lance, from Voltron.

6. Someone you’d like to see in real life?

Waifu, Baguette, Alice and Liz! I know the question says someone but you’re all too important.

7. Music or silence?

Music.

8. If you could learn any language, what would it be?

French, probably!

9. If you could bring back to life any character from any book/movie/tv show, who would it be?

Light Yagami. The first character I can remember hating with every shred of my being, and from the first anime I watched, as well!

Chicken Schnitzel! I can cook it, but I’ve never tried making it from scratch.

4. Someone cuts in front of the line you are on to buy limited items. How do you react?

My first thought was of a Veggietales episode where one of the characters says “Who’s going to name their kid Cubert?” and I think that applies nicely here. Not a good name.

7. If you could invent an ice cream flavor for Ben & Jerry’s, what would it be? (I want names too)

It’d taste like fried chicken. I would call it 

8. What is the worst name you have ever named anything? (stuffed animals, real animals, your child, etc.)

When I was little, I named a toy giraffe “Giraffe-y” and a fish “Bubbles”. I have not grown out of it - my main character is named Dasher. That is a terrible name but it refuses to go away. Save him. Save me. Please help.

9. What are you avoiding with a 50 ft pole?

“Well, that’s certainly something! How about we stay inside for a bit?”
