Well guys, here it is.

I noticed a few things when I was watching Coco the last time. And now, thanks to the wonderful @a-little-ray-of-fantasy, here they are! Enjoy!

Here is an adorable little niño listening to a kind mariachi who is clearly singing his heart out for his adorable audience and if that isn't afterlife goals I don't know what is.

And now we see the most adorable little niña cuddling her....ecidna? Kiwi? alebrije while her mother looks proudly onto both of them! Honestly they were so cute to spot I didn't even pay attention to the mains. WHERE IS THEIR STORY DANGIT! Where can I get my movie about the mother and daughter who both died (without a father figure/husband) to see them through? Never mind guys these are the ones we need to protect.

The Way You Keep Me Guessing: Coco Teacher!AU

@slusheeduck and I are co-authoring this Coco teacher!AU story together, alternating every chapter or so. (AU started by @scribblrhob, also frequently referencing art by @upperstories )

Part 4: An Unannounced Visit

Imelda groaned as she stood in front of Hector’s apartment door. Her hand was hanging in the air, refusing to knock when she told it to. It had been months since she’d even let herself look at Hector’s apartment, let alone actually try to visit.

But she’d come all this way after weeks of putting it off and she wasn’t going to fold now. She summoned a vision of Miguel eating his second hot pocket of the day and the horrifying thought sent her knuckles rapping against the cheap wood.

She did not retreat in the time it took for the door to open, steeling herself against what was to come. She was here for Miguel, not Hector.

The knob rattled from inside and the door swung inward as Hector opened it.

“Imelda?” His mouth hung open in shock, and then his whole face lit up. “Does…does this mean we’re not taking a break anymore?”

Miguel insisting that Hector be the one to play through it as his first real attempt at playing video games because of the nonviolence optional gameplay. “I’ve heard it’s fun, and like, you can seriously play through the whole game without hurting anybody. Plus it has skeletons in it and it’s about family! You’ll love it!!” Famous last words.

Héctor names the fallen child “Coco”. Miguel roles his eyes but they’re both smiling.

Maybe Miguel’s played through part of the tutorial level but did a soft restart so he could help Héctor through some of the earlier fights (not including Toriel’s).

So much back seat gaming. But Héctor doesn’t mind because sometimes the keys are hard for him to navigate and the mouse (Why is it called a mouse, Chamaco? Does it eat electrical cheese or something??) gets stuck.

“Wow, and I thought flowers hated me before,” Says Héctor, referring to Flowey.

Héctor loves Toriel immediately because she reminds him of Imelda when Coco was first born.

The minute Hector fell in love with the game was when Miguel prompted him to take more than one piece of candy. Whoever wrote the dialogue for the narrator was a genius.

“This Ghost has a pretty,” Héctor elbows Miguel, “Killer theme song—“ “Napstablook killed you again.” “DANGIT.”

Héctor gets easily frustrated with a lot of the puzzles and actually finds a lot of the solutions by accident. Sits all bundled up in a ball, brow lowered in concentration.

Accidentally kills one of the weaker monsters and IMMEDIATELY feels bad about it, but Miguel tells him it’s alright. He does another reset and Héctor is back at where he last saved... no harm done... (this comes into play later)

“This woman rescued you from a deranged daisy, gives you food and a warm bed purely out of the goodness of her own heart, and the only option left to talk to her is to LEAVE???” “You gotta progress the game somehow!” “NO! I’m getting more snail facts!!!!”

“She ran out of snail facts.”

Actually tears up a bit during the fight with Toriel because he relates to her as a parental figure. “She’s just looking out for this kid!!!!!”

Kills Toriel completely by accident, and both Héctor and Miguel are shook. “I thought you said I could play through and finish the game without hurting anyone!!” “You can! Just— just reset again, we’ll figure it out!”

When they finally figure out how to spare Toriel, Héctor needs to excuse himself from the room and wipe his eyes because her speech left him so emotional.

Jump forward to:

“I know what you did.” 🌼

“I THOUGHT YOU SAID THAT GAMES DONT REMEMBER THINGS THEY DONT SAVE, CHAMACO.” “TH-THEY DONT!!!!!”

30 minute break, revisiting life choices.

First BatiM, now Coco, I kind of get the feeling everything gets Undertale AUs now XD

I’ll never be able to escape Undertale. Aaaaaand I don’t want to! I like silly Undertale AUs.
