How the M6 laugh when they find something REALLY funny

The Arcana Mini-HCs: M6 uncontrollably laughing

Julian: will laugh so hard he stops breathing. His shoulders are shaking, there's no sound coming out of his mouth, and then out of nowhere he's taking a deep, loud gasp before going off again

Asra: laughs until they cry. his hands are covering all of his face except a wide, dimpled smile and when they lift their head to hear the next part of your joke their eyes are glistening with delighted tears

Nadia: a loud, throaty guffaw that she only lets out late at night after several glasses of Golden Goose when there's nobody else around. the type to cover her mouth when she does to maintain some dignity

Muriel: constant stream of high-pitched giggles. he's hunched over with a fist in front of his mouth and his eyes crinkled up with delight, and every new joke is met with a quiet wave of "heeheeheeheehee"s

Portia: snorts when she laughs. she's a little self-conscious about it, but if your response to the first surprised snort of laughter is more laughter, she won't mind. the type to keep a hand on her forehead

Lucio: slaps everyone and everything in sight. "HAH!" *bangs table* "HAHAHA!" *slaps knee multiple times* "HAHAHAHAHA!" *smacks MC between the shoulders* "BWAHAHAHAHA" *stomps foot*

that is the difference between peeta and gale. peeta went through them with her, and understands it was to keep them both alive. gale may not have seen it, but he basically refused that katniss said it was an act.

you picked the right man, good job katniss.

Grabbed the latest issue of Sho-Comi because Mahou Shoujo Dandelion has been making waves on Twitter in advance of its release and I had to see how it actually turned out.

Mizuho Kaeru seemed a tad overwhelmed on socials about just how much anticipation the series was receiving based on concept and characters alone, but Mizuho should honestly be proud of how well they've lined up trending tropes in Dandelion.

You've got the nasty-cute monster dude (Shade) who would do anything for his bright ray of sunshine (Tanpopo). Throw in the nostalgic magical girl element and it's not hard to see why both Japanese and English-speaking fans have been anticipating this first chapter. So, does it live up to the hype?

I'd veture that yes, Dandelion is worthy of the excitement that has been building around it. It was good as a lunchtime read on my phone and while I'll probably have to re-read it to get everything I want from it, my initial impression is a positive one.

I'm not a fan of grumpy/sunshine type stuff but Tanpopo's strengths as a character really helped me enjoy what was on offer here. You can see why the Special Magic Warrior Management Organisation was interested in her, she's got a good heart and she's got gumption, even if Shade is the one who continually helps break her fall.

The complication here is of course that Shade, while obliging of Tanpopo in his own way, is also monstrous. He plays into this when he wants to, menacing Tanpopo herself at one point because he's A VILLAIN OK?? (Sure buddy.) With Tanpopo becoming Dandelion, how will their dynamic change? Can this uneasy relationship develop further when our leads are technically on opposite sides of a battle with life-altering stakes, despite a potential unspoken desire to present a united front?

What I like about Mizuho's approach in this first chapter is that the world these characters live in is already tinted with grey and what should be a black & white / good vs. evil situation is far more complex than this right out of the gate. The "monster of the week" that shows up here is grotesque and violent, hardly the sanitised version you'd see in childhood cartoons. However, the magic warrior org is quite willing to lop heads (literally) when they have to, showing that they are not all sparkles and rainbows either. Tanpopo and Shade are very much walking into unknown territory here and I'm interested to see how Mizuho handles things in chapter two.

I just have to add that I absolutely loved this moment where Dandelion, newly transformed, performs her first magical action -- restoring the umbrella she'd used defensively as Tanpopo. So much about her character expressed in this simple yet powerful action. LOVED ITTTTTT.

If the hype remains then I can see this one turning out to be a solid little series. There's definite potential here in both the characters and scenario. I highly recommend grabbing the magazine issue and supporting any other official releases that become available if you can. Mizuho is also happy for people to produce fan art, so maybe draw pic or share a tweet/post/etc. about it if you don't have the money to invest and help keep that hype train moving this way instead!

In almost all yennskier fics there's an element of geraskier, them being exes or Jaskier having unrequited feelings for Geralt, and while that's fine and all, I'm desperate for some fics WITHOUT geraskier, with Jaskier having to deal with all the angst that comes with being in love with your best friend's girlfriend/ex bc even if Yennefer loved him back, Jaskier is too loyal to Geralt to ever do anything about it.

Imagine them all traveling together post Voleth Meir and Jaskier and Yennefer desperately trying to hide their feelings while failing a bit more each day.

Imagine the secret lingering looks and gentle touches and maybe a kiss or two when they're left alone and can't hold back.

Imagine Jaskier writting song after song about her and having to lie when Geralt and Ciri ask who it's about. Yennefer would pretend not to know.

Imagine Jaskier going back to his usual manwhore self, sleeping with any willing person around except Yennefer and imagine Yennefer slowly giving in to Geralt's attempts to get back together, hoping her feelings for him will rekindle one day. Imagine the jealousy!

Yes they do, they're pretty casual about positioning. Lapis just prefers bottoming because it's less effort lol, he likes being bossy without as much of the work. But Malady is pretty into it.

Asra: one quick spell has a draft of wind blowing the goose up into the sky. if you laugh, they might take it a little further with the poor goose, like changing the sound of its honk or the colors of its wings

Nadia: not used to geese. will not realize the danger she's in until you communicate it, at which point she will either 1) call the guards, or 2) try to woo you by using a nearby baguette as a sword and defending you

Muriel: the ultimate poultry whisperer, the crisis will be averted before you even realize it's brewing. will consider bringing it back to the woods, but sadly remembers that there aren't any ponds for it

Portia: if you're with her, she's pulling you out of the way in no time and dodging expertly. if you're safe or not present, she's taking the goose on in a fight and somehow winning without any animal cruelty

Lucio: screeches back at the goose in an attempt at intimidation. threatens it with his spiky arm and sword, all while stepping backwards away from it and calling for MC to do something about it

Geralt is exasperated, but he can't be too mad at Jaskier. Jaskier's been acting kind of sad recently. Maybe he's working through another breakup. Geralt can be concerned, but he's not angry. He'll just roll his eyes a little and drag his drunk bard to their room and make sure he passes out on the bed and not the floor. Except drunk Jaskier has quite a lot to tell this mysterious new man who came and brought him to his room. Does this man know Geralt? He's sharing this room with Geralt, did you know, mysterious man? Oh yes, dear old Geralt, his bestest friend in the world... He's also MADLY in love with him. Terribly so. Hasn't had a fling in months, not that Geralt has noticed. (And shit.. He hadn't.) Jaskier is just so stuck on Geralt. Has been for years, but lately it's gotten so bad he can't even fuck around or flirt too much without just feeling... sad. But fret not, mysterious man. As long as you don't tell any of this to Geralt, I'll bother you with my sorrowful tale no longer :)

Jaskier wakes up with one hell of a hangover, and a suspiciously antsy and overly-friendly witcher. Geralt's clearly nervous to bring up something.. But what?

Speaking of Viz though, Magical Girl Dandelion just got it's simulpub release on the app! The only reason this really came about is because of the massive wave of support from shoujo fans online thst boosted it's popularity. A sort of proto-Love Bullet, if you will.
