i've been promising K.aeya tummy for you guys for too long, so here is. enjoying himself a little too much there. tbh i've been fixating on him, even though i haven't played g.enshin lately.

just a messy sketch for now since i haven't posted anything in a while ✌️ (hi, haha) i do plan on finishing this, and doing an emeto version, so maybe stay tuned for that? i'll probably give him pants though

Terry gripped his backpack. If he managed to sneak away through all the chaos, then he could put on the Batsuit- The ceiling above shakes again. The fluorescent lights that hang onto it to give the lab a more 'sophisticated' feel swing cautiously. They give an ominous groan and Terry, without even thinking about it, pulls Dana away from it on the spot. A hole bursts open and contents of debris from the floor above spilled onto the ground before them. "Remind me to never go on a field trip again." Terry sighs. "Agreed." says Dana. The mess from the floor above had separated the group from their intern guide. If Terry could save him, he could make an escape and change into the suit in the same breath. The building was starting to come down on them and there had to be people on the rest of the floors who hadn't been able to evacuate. It would give everyone a scare disappearing like that, but he had no comms to contact Bruce, and with that there came no back up. Terry and Dana turned to each other at the same time. "You have a plan?" Dana questioned. Terry had no idea how his girlfriend was able to pick out his thoughts out like that. Sometimes it freaked him out, but it made things easier too. While she was frustrated with his odd disappearances, lackluster excuses and constant bailing on plans last minute, it was clear Dana knew whatever he was up to was important, even if it wasn't tending to Wayne's 'demanding' regime. Sometimes Terry stared at her, knowing that the Batsuit was hiding in his bag, or that he was wearing it like a second skin and wished he could tell her he was Batman. But then, Dana would be a liability. Bruce always warned against it. He had already been furious when Max had managed to figure it out. Terry scoffed lightly. "I do have a plan." He admitted, eyes flickering to worried classmates behind them. Their rose-tinted glasses painted an odd picture of Neo Gotham, 'nothing ever happened.' Clearly they didn't check the news enough. "I'll meet you outside? By the buses?" Dana smirked. "If they don't send us straight home first." She gave him a peck of a kiss before letting go. "Be safe. For real."

orison wip

My hc is scully was with child from the ivf and she lost the baby in Orison… I know… Im absolutely not well. 🤗

Shes gone in the morning when he opens his eyes.

He sits up “scully?” he calls out although he doesnt know why. He knows shes gone. 

No answer. 

He gets up and walks around, still nude, to the bathroom, kitchen, and extra room. She’s gone. Long gone. The sink is dry. 

He looks on the dining room table for a note.  they always leave notes. 

It was three words long. 

Mulder, Im sorry 

He let out an audible groan of despair and exasperation. he hadn’t wanted her to regret it and she was. Their first time and she was ashamed. He rubbed his face and got the sleep from his eyes, thinking what the plan was.

He called their office.

No answer.

He dialed again. 

“Hi sir, Is scully with you?”

“No. Why agent Mulder? Skinner said with a sharp tone of warning.

“Sir, were going to need a personal day.”

“Agent mulder! Where is she…” he hears as he pulls the phone away from his ear.

He calls Maggie.

“Hi Fox.” Comes her sing song voice.

“Hi Maggie. Is um… Is scul… is Dana there?

“Yeno.” Then a pause. “Sorry Fox, shes… I haven’t seen her today.”

“Thanks Maggie.” he said, closing his eyes. He exhaled a sigh of relief at finding her so quickly. All of his anxiety, well most of it drained away. He hoped he hadn’t ruined everything by letting himself become her solace. 

“Im coming over. I need to see her.”

“Okay” she said a little quieter. “Bye Fox.”

Hes already pulling on underwear one handed as he tosses the phone on the bed and searches for his shirt and pants in the tangle of clothing on the floor.  

Cringing at the thought of scully ever finding out he’d talked to her mother in the nude with the memory of her still on him. He hadn’t washed after all, just got up, used the toilet, wet a washcloth with warm water, and handed it to her so she could clean herself up before she got up. He’d fallen asleep as she was in the bathroom but he remembered her coming into bed and wrapping her in his arms, whispering its “Its not your fault Dana” as she sobbed into his chest; As he teared up in her hair. 

Maggie opens door and lets him in. 

Scully’s sitting on the couch looking worse for wear, face pink and puffy and blank. Unreadable for a moments that feel like eons. But then her face softens, and his own melts from apprehension to he meet her with the same expression. 

Maggie interrupts their silent communication glancing from one to the other.

“Ill be upstairs I have to get back to the laundry.” She says gently. Retreating without either of them glancing at her. 

Mulder stood in his spot leaning against the molding of the living room entry. Waiting for her to speak.

“My mom is not good at stealthy stuff” she said finally. 

“I would’ve come anyway if she was” he chanced a small smile at her.

She gave him a tense smile back “ of course you would.”

“You think you can just leave bc youre ashamed? How many times have i been embarrassed in front of you? We’re past that Scully.”

“This is different”  she said in a quiet whistful voice as she looked away from him to the sky outside the windows.

He went to her, he could no longer hold himself at the distance he knew she wanted. 

Instead he knelt down on the floor in front of the couch at her knees. He whispered her name like a secret word, like a prayer, like it was the most sacred word in the world. He leaned against the couch hands itching to touch her. But waiting for her to find his face. 

“Dana” he said again with the same reverence. She closed her eyes and turned to face him. When she opened them it was a revelation. His heart compressed as if squeezed in his chest. And he felt a wave of emotion crash over him. 

He found her hand in her lap and wove his fingers through hers. Playing with them like he’d done a hundred times before. 

“You told me, you said you didnt want me to regret it.”

“Do you regret it?” He tried his damndest to not let the cold chill of panic flooding his spine show on his face or in his voice. He knew it would be no use she knew him.

She looked at him, sorrow on her face and he prepared for the worst. 

“Not you” she reached a hand to his cheek. 

“I regret how I did it. Why I did it”

“I couldn’t see your face and put on a smile this morning when you woke up.”

“I don’t need a smile scully I don’t need anything other than who you are.”

A tear fell down her cheek off her chin and into their hands. 

“Dana” he said and leaned his forehead to hers. “Our baby” he managed, before his voice failed him.

He choked back a sob.

“I didnt realize how much love I would have even before…” he said his voice shaking. As he found her face with his hand and held onto her as if she were a life raft.

“Oh mulder” she called out in a high pitched desperate cry as sobs shook her body. He wrapped his arms around her and they cried together and touched together and kissed and held each other. Away from everything and everyone. A family for a moment in time. A family forever.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I try to! Comments are the only payment fanfic writers get, and it's an incredibly valuable and underrated currency. Fanfiction as a community is one of the most generous you'll find, and I'm incredibly proud to be a part of this particular one.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oh man, probably La Comtesse de Saint-Germain.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

In this day and age I feel like we deal with enough shit, so I try to end most of my fics happily. I think A Gem-Like Flame probably has the most uplifting happy ending, but then, I'm a sports nerd.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I haven't yet.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Um, probably pretty vanilla het MSR. No shame.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I've only written one, but it turned out really well, I thought. It's an X-Files/His Dark Materials novella-length crossover that takes place in Lyra's world, pre-Lyra, called Out of the Little Grove.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Anyone who steals my fic is going to catch these hands.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, a couple of years ago someone asked if they could translate one of my fics to Russian. It's out there somewhere.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I jumped in and helped @monikafilefan get Five Years and a Lifetime over the line for a fic exchange a couple of years ago. A fun, collaborative experience, that was like 85% Monika. It's a great fic, check it out if you haven't!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Mulder & Scully are my OTP. Always and forever.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I'd love to finish Madam Scully's Spiritual Services, Inc., it's an AU where Scully works for her sister's Psychic Boutique while prepping for med school. Scully ends up being actually psychic and she helps newly minted FBI agent Fox Mulder solve a series of murders. I have it almost completely plotted (except for the nitty-gritty hard stuff), but I don't think I'll ever get it done, sadly. It's just too big a story to tackle with where I am in my life. Though I never say never.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm decent at dialogue, have a pretty firm grasp on plotting, and, I hope characterization.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

My character work is probably my weak spot, which is why I have so much fun writing fanfic--the character work is already done, I just get to play around a world where everybody already knows the characters.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

When I do it, I hope like hell that I'm doing it right. I think it's necessary for some stories and you just hope you're properly respecting a language you don't speak.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The X-Files, in the year of our lord nineteen hundred and ninety eight.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

It's a toss up between Proof of Life, an AU where CNN conflict reporter Dana Scully is kidnapped and imprisoned with fellow kidnap victim and photojournalist Fox Mulder, and they, you know, fall in love. And North of Zero, a post-col novel where Mulder and Scully get William back and have to save the world. The one I totally pantsed (made up as I went along), and it came together like alchemy. I love that story. If you don't like AU, you'd like Proof of Life. If you don't like post-colonization stories, you'd like North of Zero. I don't always like everything I've written after I'm done writing it (a writer's life), but I'm incredibly proud of both of those fics.

Now the big bang is done I have promised myself that I'm going to finish and clean up some of the chapters of other WIPs that are nearly done. One of them is Ch2 of God Forbid You Leave Me!

So here's a little tease of what is to come:

Despite his pain and drug induced sleep, Jamie was out cold for hours. The boys came home after their day out with Leslie. They were good kids, if Higgins did say so himself, as they came in quickly with minimal gawping at the sleeping footballer on the settee. “Is Jamie Tartt living with us?” Stevie hissed, jaw dropped and stare fixed on Jamie. “He’s staying with us for a few weeks as he’s not feeling well. So we need to be welcoming, kind and careful,” Julie explained quietly, sternly staring each of the children down until they started nodding rapidly. Seemingly satisfied with the response Julie nodded and returned to the washing up. “Why’s he staying here and not in Manchester?” Dana muttered, dropping his bag in the corner, only to pick it up when Julie glared at him. “He lives in Manchester doesn’t he?” “He needed to get away from Manchester for a bit and we are more than happy to have him here,” Higgins chimed in, and if he put a little extra emphasis on the ending of that statement then every little helps. Dana shrugged and the boys hurried off to drop off their stuff and play upstairs.

They're all pretty happy. I'm partial to Time Waits For No One - it's a cute little thing I wrote.

My all time favourite ship is Carter Grayson/Dana Mitchell from Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Love a Red/Pink couple.

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a couple of old Glee fics I want to go back to but I doubt I will. Anything Critical Role related, I probably won't go back to either.

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue. Keeping track of timelines.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Finishing fics. LOL

All jokes aside, I think my writing gets a little weak outside of dialogue and my pacing could use work.

I also struggle to write things that are stictly canon. I prefer to write with my emotional support original character.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I don't typically do it but I will google a translation if I need to for the fics I read

came up with this depraved scenario where mondstadt characters go to this cafe set up by the traveler to stuff themselves and get their tummy rubbed after. if you press on the right place, they burp and relieve some pressure. but if you press on the wrong, then you make them puke! or at least that's how i would do it.

Are you still playing with the X-files/Obitine crossover? I was sure that was one of your WIPs. I recently started watching the X-files myself and would love to hear whatever your thoughts/premise were for it

This ask is over a month old and I have no excuses other than to say that I suck at Tumblr. But here we are!!

I think about the X-Files crossover constantly. It's mostly just VIBES but let's break it down anyway.

This first came up as an idea when I was wrapping Resolute Theater Presents, and I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye to that specific version of Obi-Wan. He talks to old buildings with Oujia boards, he studies astrology, he has strange rituals... he's weird.

Obi-Wan is often the straight man in a dynamic, and it's usually only because he's paired with a loose cannon [Anakin, Ahsoka, Quinlan, Qui-Gon, etc.], but that doesn't mean he's not weird [we all remember the worm episode]

Anyway, in this way, I think he's a great comp for Mulder. Yeah, Mulder believes in weird stuff, but he's completely serious about it. He knows how people see him and he just doesn't care, he is completely resolute in his pursuit of the truth and Scully just has to hope she can keep him from getting himself killed while breaking into a top-secret government black site or something.

Speaking of Scully...

Dana Scully is one of my favorite characters of all time. She's smart, she's strong, she's clever, she kicks some serious ass, [she has to shoot Mulder to stop him from doing something stupid more than once], and she is so fucking hot.

I would still lean closer to the Obitine dynamic. In X-Files they don't know each other until Scully gets assigned to Mulder, but I'd like to keep the "previous relationship" dynamic on the table. Maybe they trained together at the FBI academy? I'm not sure, but I think adding the whole "I've seen you naked" thing to the dynamic only makes it better.

Unfortunately, this is kinda as far as I've gotten? It's surprisingly difficult to come up with a plot idea that fits... Like, it's such a broad genre. It could be a deep-state conspiracy with Palpatine as The Smoking Man and Anakin as Krychek, or it could just be a fun monster of the week. There are so many possibilities that I've had a hard time getting past just the concept.

All this is to say, yes, I'm still thinking about this, and if anyone has plot ideas, especially ideas for a one-shot, I would love to hear them.

I was tagged by @nectargrapes (thank you!) and I thought I'd take it as an opportunity to talk a bit more about the characters in UNDERGROUND ELYSIUM; a medium-length (hopefully) WIP I intend to write a first draft of for the upcoming camp nano.

-Imperatrix Lucretia is the (villain) protagonist of the tale. Thrice elected, she is who implemented and saw through the idea of taking advantage of the apocalypse to bring humans under vampires' thumbs.

-Dana is her rival on the upcoming election. They have history: in the past, she was severely punished by a crime. This has left her obsessed with Lucretia and ravenous for revenge against her.

-Madam Constanza is Lucretia's severe, yet unruly mother. An ally, and a complication.

-Rivka is the Head of the Sentinels: peacekeepers and guardians of the Imperatrix. She and Lucretia have... a thing. Not a healthy one lol.

-Graciela is Lucretia's personal maid; a human who serves every waking need and often provides sustenance as well. She was picked because she was a ballerina. (I don't picture her dressed in a common maid's uniform because it wouldn't fit Lucretia's ~aesthetic LOL, but here it serves to point out her role.

-Zosia is the zealous High Abbess. A thorn in Lucretia's (firm believer of the separation of church and state! xD) side.

-Imogen is the highest judicial authority on the land. Generally considered to be a wildcard.

-Anouk: the token male character. A vampirito (term used for male vampires), part of Lucretia's political cabinet. Graceful and ambitious.

Hey Dana! Honestly, girly, the more I read this story the better it gets! I remember when I first came across your story I was a bit skeptical since I didnt see how the hybrid au would mix with the supernatural/ghost stuff well….but, lord, you proved me wrong! Now, I m obsessed with it and I get this little jolt of happiness everytime the 7th of a month is approaching bcs I know I can read your new chapter! Hands down, my fav author here ❤️

Seeing all the growth and change in the emotions of the hybrids towards yn, made me wonder if you could give us an insight into their thoughts when they first saw her at the center before she adopted them? I m curious what they were really thinking about her and what they thought her motives were?

OOOh yes that sounds like a cool WIP Drabble idea, I'll add it to my list to tackle (one day LMAO!) In a nutshell, though, I think most, if not all, were somewhat distrustful of her. In particular, Namkook and Taehyung. Yoongi already knew her somewhat, and Jimin/Hoseok just wanted to get the hell out of that shelter. As for Seokjin, I think he was mostly resigned to whatever fate had in store for him 🥺
