The way their dynamic evolved over the series—it’s undeniable that there was something there.

Skinner was her anchor in a way that Mulder never could be. Where Mulder was the storm, Skinner was the harbor. He was the one who stood behind her, protected her, fought for her—even when it cost him. And let’s be real—he was in love with her. You could see it in the way he looked at her, the way he never crossed lines but was always there, unwavering.

Mulder and Scully? It was always chaos. Passionate, sure. But also unstable, exhausting, push and pull, never solid ground. With Skinner? It would have been stability without losing intensity—a slow, deep burn instead of a wildfire that consumes everything in its path.

The show left so much unspoken between them, but it was there—the tension, the moments where Skinner would risk everything for her. Not out of duty. Not because it was his job. Because it was her.

In an ideal world, this is how it should have gone. Scully and Skinner wouldn’t just burn hot—they would last.

There's nothing better than having a show where you genuinely enjoy many different pairings and you know the characters would end up happy in different ways. Even more so when you still enjoy them 30 years later.

I honestly live for some Skinner/Scully. I really think that Skinner would be surprised every time Scully kissed him and would have a moment of shock before he kisses back. Even years and years after being with each other.

I want to do another one of them but after Skinner's hair has migrated to the front of his face.

6. Show us a bit of a WIP!

Oh gosh, I don't feel like I even have WIPs, just random notes and snippets, but I guess that's what WIPs are in the beginning. Since most of what I'm poking rn is kind of a mess, here's a random snippet from my Skinner/Scully S8 rewrite, of them running into an OC, Skinner's little sister Francesca (who I'm finding is very fun to write). I'm not sure if it'll make it into the fic, I just think it's cute.

"Waltie! I thought you were supposed to be working," Frannie says as she walks up. She stands on her tiptoes just a little, tilting her cheek up for him to kiss. "I am," he says, obliging her with the greeting as always. She wears her usual perfume, the same floral scent their mother wears. "There's such a thing as a lunch break, you know." "An actual lunch break, Waltie?" she raises a brow at him, a smirk playing on her lips. "Now I've seen everything. And who…?" Having noted that Scully is sitting at the same table that Walter just got up from, she glances around him toward the redhead. "Oh, yes, Frannie, this is Dana Scully, a colleague of mine. Scully, this is my sister Francesca." He gestures between the two women by way of introduction. Scully gets up out of her seat and as the two shake hands, Frannie's gaze darts briefly to the soft curve of Scully's belly under the white blouse, then up to her face, over to Walter's and back to Scully's. She has a look in her eyes that tells Walter she is beginning to come to an entirely wrong conclusion.

13. What's a character or ship you haven't written/drawn yet but would like to some day?

Hm... I mean, technically I haven't written any Skinner/Scully yet (just drafting and notes) but as far as characters or ships I haven't done anything with yet, I do eventually want to include Bashir and maybe Garak in something at some point, and maybe Odo and Quark too. (I do have a DS9 WIP but not with them).

23. Has your favourite character/ship changed over time?

For ships, I didn't really ship non-canon stuff when I was younger, so there I've just collected more ships over the years. For characters, certainly some have changed and some have been added. A good example is Deanna Troi. When I was a teen I didn't quite get it, I thought she was "just pretty", but as an adult I have so much more appreciation for her character and skill set. Space wife <3

The recent influx of Kudos on AO3 has been making my mornings better and definitely improving my motivation to carve out time to write on WIPs. Honestly, I've been a bit surprised by the number of them lately.

Any Skinner/Scully or Skinner/Scully/Mulder of mine automatically includes Walter gradually picking up Mulder duty whenever Dana is otherwise occupied, without anyone really asking him to. Mulder can't decide if he's disappointed or if he's happy the chances of getting picked up in a timely manner have gone up.

"Get in the car."

"Wait, where's Scully?"

"It's 3 am, Mulder. She's sleeping. Now get in the damned car."

mulder will do shit like call scully from jail and be like hi I got arrested trying to catch homeless bigfoot in an alleyway. I know you’re a six hour drive away but can you come pick me up. and scullys problem is that she will come pick him up eventually
