my favorite female character Meg!!! doubly so because I feel she's probably not popular because she's designated The Love Interest. but she's sooo "puts her under a microscope." - she's so very autism flat voice/resting bitch face coded - add to this she canonically has had issues with male superiors in the past and so her trust in men is Lowww means people around her read her as a bitch (and she is, bless her) - her interactions with fraser, especially once they begin to acknowledge there's mutual smthin going on there, are so fucking funny, because neither of them can just have conversations, it's gotta be a mix of powerplay/who-knows-what-this-is/wants to step on/wants to be stepped on nonsense and so often it's in public!!!! - she was introduced as an authority figure and pretty much has remained so all season, so a lot of her scenes aren't only about love-interest stuff, which is often where female characters fail to get fleshed out -- she's doing her own thing, and if anything, liking fraser is very very annoying to her because she's got shit to do dammit!

my favorite male character fraser and rayv come as such a set pair, argh. the things i like about fraser are the things that rayv corresponds to, the whole martyr-and-guy-who-refuses-to-let-him-be-martyr, the need to give everything and the guy who takes some of the strain, but... i do think fraser edges him out Just (not that kind of edging, stop), because in my heart of hearts, i am always drawn the most to characters who want to be used, characters who want to give every piece of themselves, and within that, characters who are very capable -- AND he fulfills the criteria for another one of my favourite character archetypes, the not-so-talked about butterfly-under-the-wheel (as i first heard @gjdraws call it) he's an atypical version of it, because usually the butterfly-under-the-wheel is partially defined by their inability, that is, they exist to create wonderment/beauty/hope in the world around them, but they don't actually have very many skills and would probably die without the far more pragmatic other characters around them. they do sometimes have a skill (see, lito in sense8) and where fraser fits is that while he has many skills, they're often impractical for survival in the specific world he's in (chicago, capitalism, Society) and his alienation with the world, his unique way of looking at it, constantly makes said world dangerous for him in ways ray has to help him with. he also sucks with money (very common in this type), is considered almost unreal in terms of attractiveness, and ofc... suffers a lot. my sweet sweet butterfly-on-the-wheel

my favorite book/season/etc feels unfair between two seasons -- i will say, i called s2 a denouement the first time i watched it and i think now im watching it slower i am far more able to see it on its own merits, without s1 hanging over it if i do a favourite amount of episodes divided by the amount of episodes in the season however and don't count the Pilot [i leave to calculate] think s2 has more of my very favourite episodes, but i think s1 is more evenly placed in quality overall. what does that tell you? idk, the Pilot's the favourite, shall we say?

my favorite ship relationship generally (romantic, platonic, third thing, you know the deal) is fraser and ray. like i said, they're thematically a pair, that's just what they are. but i have a reaaal need to explore meg and fraser and ray, considering the shenanigans of two people who feel various kinds of unhinged things about one emotionally somewhat oblivious (but very caring) man

a character I’d die defending gosh, this'd probably go to meg too. specifically her relevance! i think her addition in s2 is incredibly welcome and changes up the dynamics in interesting ways and if you take in her actual personality -- that is, look beyond her "just" as a love interest, she's got a whole lot of interesting foundation, fascinating speech patterns and behaviours, and chemistry with fraser (whether one wants that chemistry to be romantic/sexual is obvs subjective, but their scenes together are Good and tell us a whole lot about both of them in my opinion) i'd also defend victoria As A Scheming No-Good Villainous Person, because I think there's no need to soften her in order to make her cool, idk if that is being done, but i would die on the "her being absolutely terrible" hill is great actually (maybe i'm defending her from some of the writing not wanting to commit, despite... literally all the atrocities... she shot dief!!!??? she burnt down his dad's cabin????? she framed him and tried to send his most important person to jail??????? murder????? and you're telling me that despite all of that she wasn't manipulating him by batting her big beautiful eyes and pretending to be the victim! i desire cruel women in my life dammit!)

a character I just can’t sympathize with i mean... looks above. victoria? but i think she shouldn't be sympathetic anyway. she needs to be a bit vile, a bit fucked up, a bit possessive and destructive for my taste oh and fuck frank zuko of course

a character I grew to love 1. irene! i struggled with her on my first watch and now she's in so many of the private discussions i have about this show -- she does sadly fall right into "fridged woman for man angst" but there are more than enough bits in there + carrie anne moss' performance is absolutely stellar, that you can really feel her as a character as well -- someone trapped, searching for freedom, and nostalgic for something that was probably never going to work out even if they had been able to try it and bitter and stronger than people in the story give her credit for (and ohhhh where's that fic you wrote about her and fraser talking!) 2. frannie. i needed until s2, because s1 just... kept making her weird and stalkery and shallow in ways that i had to just, at times, mentally rewrite (her total lack of situational awareness whilst her brother is drowning in front of her only to be put upon when he's been saved and needs "her good blanket" to keep him warm is like. i simply do not see that scene). but after heaven and earth, beginning with that scene between her and ray, she changes! and you can buy someone building a fantasy and refusing to step out of it because of pain until jolted back into reality and it being a very subtly tragic thing, only to bounce back and take it on the chin. that's frannie!

my anti otp um. i guess fraser and allosexuality/alloromance. that man's relationship to these things is not normative -- he may be analysed to enjoy sex or to want romance, but textually he is so fucking leftfield with these things that if those underpinnings don't exist i can't understand him. my man was canonically asking people to describe what love is supposed to feel like as a 30+ year old man, and had had sex like... possibly once in his 20s (and the consensual aspects to it are vague) and then that same woman at one point in his 30s, who first severely emotionally blackmailed/coerced him and later threatened his life and the lives of his friends that and like. whatever happens to him whenever someone (meg, usually) pushes him around/grabs him/orders him about

will Riley and Nomi were obviously found out by the bpo and known to be connected (although I don't remember how whispers learnt about Nomi and Will being connected)

sun was probably the easiest to find out that was related to them since Nomi did a lot of hacking to help her which is something Sun couldn't have done on her own (and while the point of hacking is to leave not trace of you behind every person has its own style and no doubt the obp would be on the lockout for any hacking activity that smelled like something Nomi would do)

After that Capheus and Lito would be next in that order. Both showed out of the blue extraordinary capabilities that didn't make sense they knew and clearly marked them as sensates(just no way to know who they were connected to) just like the people visiting Capheus said. The only difference was that Capheus acts were widely known while Lito only had Dani and Joaquin as witness.

And finally Wolfgang mad Kala who showed it the less. In fact they didn't show it at all.

Kala with her perfect idyllic life never needed to make use of the others abilities (besides that one time will helped her defend herself at the temple).

And Wolfgang although did use the others abilities and pulled of amazing feats thanks to them all of those instances were stuff that would be credible he did on his own because they were in line with the type of person Wolfang is and what he's capable.

So now that I have Netflix I’m finally watching sense8 and I love it.

I think my favourite thing about Lito is that even in his darkest moments when he’s drinking and crying alone in an empty bathtub he’s not just chugging hard liquor from a bottle, he freshly blends himself a nice cocktail.

Only 9 episodes in and I’m so invested, I don’t even care about the plot, I just want every character to be safe, warm and happy.

Haleigh walked out of the bathroom in black shorts and one of Ardian's shirts after a shower. She smiled seeing Carlito where she'd left him-- on their bed with her phone on Facetime with Ardian.

"Oooh, Mommy wear your shirt, Daddy," Carlito giggled.

Haleigh sucked her teeth, laughing at him as she brushed her wet hair up into a ponytail. "Bug! You supposed to keep a secret."

Carlito shook his head. "You tell Mama me pee myself, it was a secret."

Ardian listened to them go back and forth, just smiling. He was away doing press for the New Edition Story for the next couple of days, he didn't want to leave then but he didn't have a choice.

"Look here, lil tattle tell. It's time for bed so tell Daddy you love him." Haleigh climbed into the bed next to Carlito. She pulled him close to her and took the phone.

"Ooh me sing my song for Daddy?" Carlito asked stalling.

His parents laughed at him, Haleigh stopped him before he could start.

"No, sir. Your daddy heard that song three times already today. Save some for when he comes home. Say love you and blow Daddy kisses."

"Papa take me to get seafood, Daddy. The shrimp had eyes," he squealed.

Ardian laughed, "I know, Lil Man. Remember you told Daddy about it yesterday?"

"Oh," he paused tapping his chin, "Simba took me to the park taday. We slided."

Haleigh rolled her eyes laughing and got his attention. "How about this? If you don't go to bed, you don't get to have chocolate pancakes tomorrow and Mommy is gonna give you oatmeal instead."

"Love you too, Lil Man," Ardian said then blew kisses back to his son. "I love you too, Pig Tails."

"We'll call you in the morning on our way to see Nonna and Nonno." She told him using her free hand to rub Carlito's back.

"Um, yeah. If I don't answer, I'll call yall right back. We got an interview early tomorrow and I'm not sure when it'll be over."

"Alright, Ardi. See you later. Tell Daddy see you later, Bug," She said turning the phone slightly. Carlito mumbled incoherently as he drifted off to sleep.

After hanging up, Haleigh laid beside Carlito a little longer to make sure he was sleep before going downstairs. She wanted to clean up the toys, he had taken out when Simba came over. Carlito had to show off all the toys Ardian had gotten him since coming home.

Deciding against turning on any music, that would definitely wake Carlito, Haleigh hummed to herself as she cleaned. Once the toys were put away, Haleigh started to straighten Ardian's games that Carlito had gotten into. In the midst of cleaning, Haleigh heard noises coming from their back sliding door. She wished she had the dogs but they were with Rezar so he could take them to their appointments.

Her first thought was Carlito. She had to get upstairs to him. She jogged through the hallways towards the staircase but she locked eyes with the two people at her backdoor. It was then that she remembered Carlito had opened the blinds earlier that day so he could see out. The man trying to open the door smiled creepily at her and she took off upstairs.

By the time she got to the second floor she heard glass shatter making her move faster. Haleigh locked the bedroom door behind her, scooped Carlito up in her arms, grabbed her phone and went into the closet. Thankfully Ardian had put a lock on it. She laid Carlito in a corner out of the east and covered, glad that gee was still sleeping.

"She's a lot cuter in person."

"I don't care of she's cute or not, she's gettin done."

Haleigh was trying not to panic as her encounter with Todd replayed in her head. The doorknob started to jiggle and she panicked. After putting her phone near Carlito's hand she ran to another part of the closet just as the door popped open.

"Where you at, girl? We just wanna talk to you a friend of ours."

Haleigh watched then with get hand to her mouth until she dare them going towards where Carlito was sleeping. She grabbed one of Ardian's watches at them, hitting the bigger one in the head. He yelped and turned to glare at her.

"You raggedy bitch. Get her, Carlos!"

Haleigh tried to run from the closet but Carlos grabbed her. She wasn't trying to leave Carlito, she just didn't want them near him. He drug her by her hair out of the closet with his partner right behind them.

"Let me go! Let go!" She fussed trying to pull away from his hold.

The other man attempted to grab her legs at she kicked wildly at him. She landed once kick to his nose, slowing him down for the moment. Carlos dropped her and she took her chance to run only to be caught just as she got to the stairs being pulled back by her shirt.

"Got dammit, I think this bitch broke my fuckin nose!"

"How the hell you let this little ass girl punk yo ass like that? Laura ain't send us here to play."

The other man laughed a bit, "Yeah she sent us to take something from you since you took her son."

Carlos laughed with him letting Haleigh hit the floor. "Now are you gon let it go willingly or you gon make us take it?"

The two of them attempted to hold her down and take her clothes off but she was fighting much more than they hoped. From the corner of her eye, Haleigh saw Carlito standing near them with the phone in his hand. She couldn't let them do anything in front of her baby

Haleigh kicked at the other man in his nose again making more blood gush out of it and then in his temple. He fell back holding hits nose them passed out. Carlos fought back more than his partner, he got on top of Haleigh trying to hold her down, Carlito started to cry.

"Get off me mommy! Stop that!" He yelled holding the phone tight to his chest.

Haleigh was able to roll onto her side and kicked Carlos down the stairs. She sat quickly and beckoned for Carlito to come to her.

"Come on, Bug. We gotta hurry, just step around him," she encouraged as quickly and nicely as she could.

"Him get me, Mommy."

" I promise he won't, baby but we have to go now. Come on, please, big boy."

Carlito thought for a second then quickly ran pass the man unconscious on their floor. Haleigh picked him up and ran down the stairs as fast as she could. She side stepped Carlos, who laid at the bottom of the staircase morning and groaning.

Grabbing the keys to her jeep, Haleigh ran out if their house to the front seat. She got in, locked the door then pushed Carlito to the back. Her hand shook as she tried to start the car.

"Get in your seat and buckle up, Bug."

"Me can't do it. Me need help," he cried struggling to hold the phone and the seat belt.

Haleigh looked up, finding Carlos in front of the SUV holding his back. She quickly started the engine and pulled out of their driveway, speeding down the street of the neighborhood.

"Mommy, slow down. Me can't not do it."

Haleigh glanced at him briefly trying to figure out how to help him without stopping.

"Aren't you a strong like Daddy, Bug?"

"Mmhm, yes ma'am."

"Well then baby you can do it. Daddy does it. Just please do it so you dont get hurt cause Mommy can't stop right now." She explained constantly looking in her rearview. She didn't see anyone following her but she wasn't taking any chances.

Finally there was a click.

"Me do it, Mommy!"

"Good job," she praised through her tears. "Mommy is so proud of you. Wanna go for a drive, Lito?"

"Yes ma'am. Where we go?" He asked still cradling the phone.

"How about we go to grandpa's farm," she said referring to Kandice's parents.

"Otay, Mommy. Me sleep?" He asked yawning.

"Yeah, just give Mommy her phone. I'll wake you when we get there."

Haleigh grabbed the phone from her son, trying to look at it and drive. She wanted to get it as far away from the city as she could. When she unlocked her phone she found that Carlito had called Ardian, leaving most of what happened on his voicemail. She would call him after she let her grandparents know she was coming.

No shoes, no purse, just pajamas and her son. But as long as she had Carlito, she had one of the two most important things to her.

My one qualm with the Sense8 finale: why was Lito missing from nearly the entire final fight scene??? You didn't get to see his reaction to Kala nearly dying, his reaction to the helicopter blowing up, and he didn't add anything to the final fight! I want more Lito, dammit!

A crossover BroTP I’d dig: Aw well you know Riley and Will would probably parent the shit out of those kids - actually, the entire cluster would, really. That would be sweet - and I think some would kinda have their favorites. 

Nomi and Amanita’s is El. They love her a lot and spend time with her the most, and Nomi understands what it’s like to be kidnapped against your will + being unable to leave/having to be trapped for “tests” so she really sympathizes for El and she and Amanita have basically made it their mission to personally destroy anyone who harmed this baby girl. 

Wolfie, on the other hand, is really attached to Will (the smol Will - sidenote Will and Will laugh a lot about their names and will jokingly answer things at the same time), and he’s dedicated to protecting this kid and making sure he doesn’t ever have to go to the Upside Down ever again. 

Lito loves Lucas the most because dammit he speaks the truth and he appreciates that a lot. Also, Lucas is the only kid that loves Lito’s movies. 

Sun likes Dustin the most. She thinks he’s funny, and that he’s probably the smartest of the group. 

Will and Riley adore Mike the most. He has a good head on his shoulders and he reminds Will of himself as a kid. 

Kala loves all the kids equally (although feeling Wolfie’s emotions more intensely have made her have a soft spot for Will, admittedly).

Capheus actually likes baby Holly the most. She’s adorable and always waves to him which he thinks is adorable. 

A crossover Frenemies I think would be inevitable: lmao Nancy is such a smartass that I can see her and Kala getting into a smart-ass argument because Nancy will say something snarky and Kala will just have to say something snarky back. But, that’s their dynamic and if Kala says something sarcastic and Nancy doesn’t say anything snarky back Kala knows something is wrong and she’s dedicated to helping Nancy.

Also Steve + Jonathan are so dramatic in their own ways that I can imagine them looking at Lito and being frenemies with him somehow. They probably insult his movies.
