This isn't hate towards anyone or any ship in particular but y'all are WEIRD ASF for taking Ochaco crying and like breaking down as a moment hinting at a ship. I'm not particularly active in the tags but I've been watching this all go down. Ramblings below the cut

Listen I like izuocha I think it's really cute but I wish that more time had been spent developing it, and as a multishipper I also love bkdk😭 but I don't hold hope that it's going to be canon. BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY it doesn't matter what's canon like y'all can still ship the ship you like 😭 I think we all just need to stop arguing but also like just because Izuku and Ochaco are in a scene together and like talking doesn't mean it's going to be a confession, and in any other work I love the emotional confession but rn I think they're both obviously struggling and they just need to talk about the war and like lean on each other for comfort which is a really nice platonic moment. I feel like we tend to disregard the canon friendships and platonic moments WHICH ARE BEAUTIFUL for the sake of shipping and shipping moments, which while that can be true and like further evidence we should also appreciate some moments for what they are and beautiful as platonic. Yeah I'm done rambling that's just my two cents.

Okay little rant about shipping culture

Like why have ships become about like canon ability like ykwim like shipping can just be for fun😭 like just cause I think a ship is cool doesn't mean I think it's canon or should be canon. Like what happened to rarepairs and shipping from other fandoms😭 like y'all are always arguing about which ship is better because of how canon it is like it's really not that serious 😭 like I understand not wanting to ship something that has no canon basis or whatever but why go out of your way to shit on other ships and make like shipping wars because you don't like a ship😭 is it really ever that serious 💀💀

Okay this was supposed to be like a short rant but wtvwtv. I just wanted to give some examples

For one Bkdk, like I personally ship it but I also think that izuocha is cute(and like a bunch of other ships with them) and idgaf about canon tbh in the context of shipping 😭. But anyway y'all always arguing about which is more canon and which one is more important like it really doesn't matter what's canon you can like a ship even if it's ridiculous and be a multishipper.

And ik I'm not in the fandom anymore but mleven and bylr, dude the amount of arguing and like harassing over those ships was ridiculous like leave each other be someone can like a ship without it needing to be canon.

AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING ik I used to be the same way about byler IK😭 I've realized the fandom is low-key toxic and we all just need to chill🥰.

And um I don't feel like thinking of other examples rn but like I just feel like everyone needs to stop worrying sm about what's canon and what's not, like yes it's really nice to see canon moments between your ship. But it's not that necessary and we need to stop placing canon ships on such a high pedestal. Like shipping is for FUN 😭. Anyway this has been my rant if a ship is legal leave it be 🥰

Disinterest in any of his own relationships

Distaste at the thought of himself being in a relationship

Interest in other people's relationships (kinda sorta)

Him stating he doesn't want a relationship

ANYWAY IF I SEE ONE PERSON SAYING, "oh but he just needs the right person so he can have his little romance" (which is just a super invalidating thing to say to anyone??) or saying he's implied to have something with Tashiro imma lose it 😭

Imo I see his relationship with Tashiro as strictly senpai&kouhai and more of a parallel to Miyano&Hirano if anything.

ANYWAY I'M PROBABLY GONNA MAKE A MORE LENGTHY POST AFTER I REREAD THE SERIESESESESES BUT YEAH🫶

The pacing is kinda crazy especially when compared to like some other shonen because some take literal twenty chapters to just get through like one fight 😭 or have an unnecessary amount of exposition chapters😭 while kagurabachi is just like moving on one right after the other like as fast as possible.

Honestly, I don't mind it; it's just a little concerning because Chihiro is constantly not fighting at his best, and currently, Hakuri can't even use his power, so, like, half of their plan is just kinda out of commission. So like, how is this gonna work, like is Hakuri gonna die(KNOCK ON WOOD 🤜🪵 DON'T KILL MY FAVE 🙁🤜🪵)but fr like we need a serious regrouping and rest chapter cause they can't keep fighting fight after fight with no serious rest.

Ramblings about Harusono's works and like friendships and intimacy because I can

I put this under a cut cause it got so much longer than I intended😭

So like I seen some people point out the like weird almost pre romance vibes between sasaki and Hirano. Like I was thinking maybe this just comes from Harusono not being very good at writing friendship and the desire to be closer and admiration without making it seem romantic😭. Because like Butai ni Sake it's about theatre and coming out of your shell and friendship and it's cute and great but then there's like THIS

(these are just some examples there's more though)

AND IT'S LIKE WEIRD cause like it FEELS romantic but it's NOT. It's not meant to be romantic. Butai ni Sake is not a bl and it's not a romance. So then WHY IS IT SO DAMN ROMANTIC?? I feel like this comes from in part due to Harusono's artstyle which is flowery and pretty and light and soft and makes everything a little bit more romantic and the way she draws characters looking at each other with just like pure LOVE in their eyes and even though it's platonic or is not meant to be romantic, it just FEELS so just intimate and romantic.

And it's like this beautiful intimacy of the friendships, Maki and all of Asahi's middle school friends trying to get into the same high school as him because they miss him even though he went ghost, and Asahi and Imari wanting to act together forever and in the future choosing to make a theatre troupe, and Botan just KNOWING all of her friends so so well, the entire theatre club traveling to give Asahi a ride to school so he would be comfortable, Tsumugi and Imari being childhood friends and knowing each other so well that even when Tsumugi says he hates Imari he still wants him around (they need to be studied I swear), Asahi's middle school friends going to see him in the play and being so happy he's doing well despite his changes. These are all just beautiful moments of friendship but like when Harusono writes and draws it, it FEELS more intimate than friendship. It's like these are moments of friendship but the way they are portrayed is just woah.

Anyway back to sasahira lmao😭😭 the whole like thing in the stairwell from the light novel, it IS romantic framing and it's weird cause this is a friendship and they recently met and it shouldn't be as intimate as it feels but it is. ALSO it reminds me of the first chapter in Adachi to Shimamura. Also I feel like we don't talk enough about how like Kagi and Sasaki are kinda similar but also very different but like not that much, but Sasaki isn't Kagi and Hirano isn't Miyano which is exactly why their relationship isn't romantic because they're THEM. (does that even make sense lmao 😭)

BUT LIKE ALSO she does know how to write friendships without them seeming romantic or weirdly intimate because we see that in Butai ni Sake and Sasaki to Miyano, the friendships between Miyano and Tashiro Shirahama and Kuresawa, Botan and Asahi, Ogasawara and Sasaki, Hanzawa and everyone😭, the art club director and Asahi.

And it's now it's like really weird because we have these friendships that don't seem strangely Intimate or romantic and it's like, so maybe that is intentional? And it's like WHY THOUGH?? Or maybe it's not intentional and it's just a result of misinterpretation? I'M LOSING IT OH MY GOSH😭

Yk what's kinda sad? Is that kenhina seems like it used to be fairly popular. Cause there's a bunch of older kenhina content and the tag has like a lot of members it's just dry now. I bet this came about when people started to hate on any ship with Hinata that wasn't with Kageyama. Like now I'll see posts being like, "the old hq fandom was so bad Hinata was getting shipped with everyone blah blah blah..." like yes??? It's a fandom ofc people are gonna ship Hinata with different people😭 especially when he interacts with them.

But I think this comes from the larger issue of fandoms and shipping culture just becoming more strict which probably is cause of the amount of non fandom people calling us weird and like making fun of us. And like now I see so many fandoms trying to separate from the past fandoms and be like, "oh no we're normal now" and it's just making fandoms not as fun anymore😭 like who cares if we get made fun of 😭 fandoms are spaces for weird people to be weird about something they enjoy and if someone who isn't like that wants to make fun of us then let them. It's not for them. Y'all remember when people would ship characters from different universes just for shits and giggles😭 bring that shit back, that was so fun. I remember when I was younger, before I had really joined any fandoms, and watching ColeyDoesThings and Strange Æons on YouTube and just thinking that fandoms and Tumblr sounded so fun and then I joined expecting that, and it was like that for a while but it seemed to shift to more rules and strict shipping and people CONSTANTLY making fun of each other even within fandom spaces. Like yeah I think some stuff is cringy but I just move on cause they're having fun. I'm so sick of the arguing and the making fun of each other and the shipping wars. AND MULTISHIPPERS🫶 oh my gosh as a multishipper, I literally have been attacked so many times for saying that I enjoy two ships in a ship war (ex. bk//dk & Izu//ocha) like ship wars are so stupid and another reason why fandoms become less fun, I and many other people are in fandoms to consume fun content about the ship I like, not argue with other people about which ship is better ESPECIALLY when I enjoy both ships. And even when there is a ship I can't stand I would NEVER go into their tags and hate on it. That's just a dick move even if they do the same. Oh and like I'm guilty of some of this too but I realized that it wasn't what I wanted to be doing 😭. But like the main point was that people hate on rarepairs so much and it gets so tiring 😭 just let the few of us enjoy our ship in peace. Anyway bring back weird fandom culture.
