Dallas flirting with Soda is so funny to me 😭 cus Steve gets all jealous, and Dally is just making fun of him going, “I’m gonna steal your girl” while grinning and trying not to laugh his ass off, while Steve gets all mad.

I don’t ship them, but I have to say, the dallypop dynamic is kind of fascinating.

Dallas, all teeth and sharp angles, spitting vengeance against the world. Soda, tough as a rawhide whip but twice as gentle. Dally, sneering in the dark, and Soda, smiling in the sun. Dally, fierce and proud and loyal to a fault, beaten by life until the blood runs down his chin, grinning with red teeth, the smile of the damned. Imagine my poor boy Soda, he’s lost Sandy and then… then he realizes that Dally is right there and always has been. The kiss once and Soda thinks he could fall in love with Dallas.

And the next day, Dallas Winston kills himself by jumping in front of a train.

And all Soda can think about, what’s eating him up inside, is that never once has he been good enough to make someone stay. Sure, every girl in town would just love to be with him, but he doesn’t care, not even a little, because the people he really loved, he couldn’t get them to stay.

And if he loses one more person, nobody is going to be able to make him stay either.

I have a little hc of mine that Twobit would sneak into Dallys room in Bucks roadhouse and just spend some time with him. He’d yap about literally ANYTHING to Dally and he’d either try to listen or straight up zone out. If Twobit really wanted Dally to listen he’d jokingly flick/pinch Dallys face just to snap him out of it— which would usually result in Twobit getting a hit back or two but he didn’t mind.

If Dallys sleeping, or trying to, Twobit would cuddle up next to him and just lay there with Dally. Even if Dally would grumpily shift around in bed, Twobit would try to make Dally feel comfortable while still holding him close.

ANDDD vice versa, if Twobits at home, Dally would find a way to sneak in or just have Twobits ma let him inside. He’d do the same thing to Twobit if he’s in the mood, like cuddling up with him and just hanging out in general. Dallas would also drag Twobit out to drink or pick on him by shoving him around, causing them to have playful fights here ‘n there

sorry this is so lateeee, I had exam retakes all week.

I hope these are ok :)

General:

Soda is the type to flirt with his friends. He’s used to them rolling their eyes or jokingly going along with it, so when he meets Dally and he joins the gang, naturally, Soda flirts with him. He is honest to God gobsmacked when Dally flirts seriously back.

Dally calls Soda pretty boy.

Dally had Soda’s attention ever since they met, he just found him so interesting.

Soda was the first in the gang to meet Dally, they met at a rodeo.

Soda always had a thing for Dally but managed to convince himself it would never work out because Dally was too avoidant and uncaring. This changed COMPLETELY when he saw how good Dally was with Johnny.

Both of them find each other's accents attractive but are too embarrassed to say it.

Soda was a little intimidated by Dally and his reputation.

Soda is a LOT more open-minded about  Pony and Curly’s relationship because he’s dating Dally and he doesn’t want Ponyboy to think he’s a hypocrite.

Dallas used to be in a gang back in New York.

The closest Soda’s ever come to New York gangs is when he took Pony to the movies to watch West Side Story.

Their first kiss was after a rumble, Dally had a bloody nose and almost got arrested they were running from the cops, and they’d ducked into an alley to catch their breath Soda was laughing, he’d moved closer to Dally so he could check if his nose was broken. And no one had ever really cared about Dally like that, he was all hopped up on adrenaline and endorphins and how Soda looked in the lamp-light and he kissed him.

Their relationship isn’t technically a secret but they don’t talk about it.

Share clothes like crazy; jackets, shirts you name it they’ve shared it.

Soda thinks Dally’s hair is the prettiest thing he’s ever seen, used to get distracted by how badly he wanted to touch it.

They aren’t super into pda but they’re CONSTANTLY roughhousing.

Before they got together Dally went to the DX purely to see Soda.

Soda makes fun of him for being named Dallas but being from New York. 

Soda thinks Dally is one of the most attractive people he knows, he just finds his appearance striking.     

Canon compliant 

Never actually got together.

Never hung out alone much because Soda didn’t want to cause trouble for Darry in case the social found out.

Made out a couple times.

Kind of a situationship-type deal.

Dally had Slyvia and Soda had Sandy, but there was always tension between them.

Dally still called him Pretty Boy, but it always had a bitter undertone to it. Soda could never bring himself to mind.

Soda HATED hearing about Slyvia cheating on Dally when he went to prison because he knew deep down he’d never do that, he’d wait for Dally forever.

Cradled Dally after he died, had to be dragged away full-on sobbing.

Dally’s death fucked with Soda more than he was truly aware of because he never truly had time to process it; he had to help Pony grieve Johnny and then there was the rumble and the court hearing and Sandy’s baby. By the time he had the chance to finally breathe and realise how much he missed Dally, he was leaving for Vietnam.

Dallypop headcannons because I love them

They are the definition of Golden retriever and black cat dynamic

Once they started going out Dally refrained from stealing from the DX. That's not to say he doesn't steal. He does, just from other stores instead

Soda understands that Dally has a hard time expressing his feelings and won't push him, but encourages him not to keep everything bottled up

Surprisingly Dally confessed first. He just gave Soda his ring and stood there waiting for his reaction

Soda immediately pulled him into a hug

Soda will give Dally some sort of treat as often as possible. He loves spoiling his boyfriend

Dally will try and bring Soda everywhere because he loves to show off his pretty boy

Speaking of which Dally calls Soda pretty boy all the time and Soda will call him Darling

Once Pony is able to sleep by himself again Soda is constantly inviting Dally over because he loves to hold someone while he sleeps

Part of me is drawn to dallypop friendship because the parallels are so starkly conflicting—Soda who breathes hope like his lungs were made for nothing else, and Dally, teeth bloody with the devil’s grin.

The other part of me is just really amused by the “ugly loser crime goblin and his gorgeous twink bff” dynamic.

the dallas drawing was a run back to my olden days back when i used to only use highlighters for drawings, i thought it'd be fun to give it another go — did NOT expect to like it so much, because i actually took a break from it for a while bc of how tiring it got. but I'm real proud of it :D

a lot of these drawings have come from over the span of the past few days, the dinner booth drawing being a little over three weeks old but i thought I'd show it off since i don't plan to make it digital unfortunately. i might in the future if i change my mind, but until then I'm happy with how silly it looks :3c

sneaking aj into my doodle post was a bit unintentional, but I haven't drawn him in FOREVER so i thought I'd do a lil sumn sumn... I'll probably do some more sketches of him with time, i have to get back in the hang of actually drawing him again 😭

the drawing of steve being beaten and bloody is OLD. like, two weeks old. i made it sometime around his birthday because i thought it'd be fun to draw him beaten up like he was on the sodablog, and i never really added onto it afterwards. the rest of the sketch is kinda cut off just... because,, yeah... it wasn't finished 💀

i have a few more drawings to show off but THOSE i am probably making digital, just because they're... idk they're needing of their own post i feel

i could've given the dallas drawing his own post, but nawww... he's just the star of the post! i really do miss using highlighters more frequently. i only drew that picture because i had a scrap piece of paper that had no purpose, so i was like "ykw??? drawing time." and it just somehow turned into dallas i guess 💀

I haven't been doodling as much since I've been working on bigger pieces back to back (and also most of the doodles i did do today were art requests which i posted with the asks that requested them) but either way!!!

Now I see a lot of Dallas with Tim or with Johnny content. But y’know what is would like to see? Dallas and Sodapop as a couple. I love tropes where one person isn’t use to genuine kindness and falls head over heels over the one person who is just that..

ive actually heard about this ship a bit but never read content for em, so this is a moment in history☝🏽☝🏽, ship name wise, off the tope of my head is like texas coke, cause soda in texas is called coke and yada yada yada, but booooo, and then there was fizzy state, but that sounds stupider, so listen i swear ill have a better one one of these days i swear

•as soon as i read this i thought “soda has no room to talk about pony and curly anymore”, if ur dating dally, ANY advice u have about dating should b thrown out the window and ur voice should fall on deaf ears
