Okay. The Outsiders x RC9GN AU’s and I literally have about four of them. I’ll gladly talk about all of them in more detail anyway, but hear me out-

The first one doesn’t have a name, at all but it follows the idea that the greasers and the cast from RC9GN live in the same time period. Due to my headcanons that Norrisville is in Oklahoma, and Tulsa is also in the same state, something brings all of them to meet. Currently the idea is that a sports competition from the two schools leads to this, and now our favorite greaser boys are dragged into the shenanigans of the Ninja- this is pretty self indulgent but it exists now. So there you go

The next is honestly- and again, this is extremely self indulgent, what I say goes. By some main character shenanigans, and the will of the author, Ponyboy becomes the Ninja; Dallas Winston, on the other hand, also gains a mantle because I said so - currently the idea is either Phoenix… or something like the Kitsune but still,

Third idea — and this one I’m completely onboard with, and I will write it somehow but hear me out Randy Cunningham is a soc. Spike, the leader of the punk bots and the junkyard from show canon (“McSatchle”, “Escape from Scrap City”) is a greaser — his gang of course, are the other punk bots. Shenanigans ensue and then Randy discovers a little something about his family history

Fourth idea! This one’s insane and a little wild, because it technically works with Outsiders book canon (in other words, a divergent storyline) but following the latest in Dallas Winston’s arrests - he’s given one final chance to fix his act. And that solution is by being forced into a rehabilitation program for juvies — what this means is that he’s paired off with a family who will house him and steer him into the right side of the law. He’s placed in the Cunningham household, and is less than pleased by the entire freaking thing but of course, life has something in store for him… in ways he didn’t expect

I’m oddly surprised none of these have been done before- although the last one could also be written in the context of the book itself; Dallas is instead placed with the Curtises, and they do not die- because I am not that mean usually, and well, I’ll get to that later, but I am itching and shaking and growling and crying over these ideas

Halt's Playlist Part 2

I'm Something Else by SomethingElseyt - I honestly don't know why this song reminds me of Halt. It just kind of does.

Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver - This reminds me him and his family back in Hibernia, just because of the feel of the song. I hope I'm not the only one with this.

Arlandria by Foo Fighters - This song reminds me of both Halt and Morgarath. I don't really know why. But there is a line in the song that goes: 'YoU aNd WhAt ArMy!' That reminds me of when Morgarath was taunting Halt and pissing him off in The Burning Bridge

The Pretender by Foo Fighters - I guess this is just another song that I just have that feel that it relates to Halt. Also think modern day him would kind of like it.

It's My Life by Bon Jovi - Yes. Yes! YES! This is a very good song for him. Basically any song that is talking about being strong, and courage, and standing up for yourself and all that shit. And getting revenge. All those things remind me of him.

Too Much Love Will Kill You by Queen - Alright so, I feel like Halt's been through a lot of shit. And a lot of it happened when he was still pretty young. I mean, he had to go through his parents fighting, him fighting with ferris, him probably fighting with his parents, Ferris trying to kill him, leaving Hibernia and his family including Caitlyn, and then loosing Pritchard. And he was only around twenty and younger when all that happened. Then he probably had to go through a lot more. This is probably why he would push people away. My head canon is he is scared to get too close to be people because he doesn't want to loose them again. Hence, "Too Much Love Will Kill You.' (Geez I ended up rambling on about that one. I just love that fucking song. And Queen. There will be more Queen songs.)

Livin' On The Edge by Aerosmith - Again, this is one of those badass songs. And he is badass. Living on the edge, as in, he is constantly getting himself into trouble and danger. He is living on the edge. The edge of the entire kingdoms patience. Also side note: I feel like Horace would like Aerosmith.

God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You by KISS I head canon that since Halt likes rock music in modern AU, and he would've grown up in a rich, high class family, obviously, so he probably would of learned to play some instruments, like gutair. It's stupid I know.

Stay Gold by Stevie Wonder - This is because of another one of my modern day AU headcanons. Halt likes reading, and one of his favorite books is The Outsiders by SE Hinton (this definietly isn't just because thats one of my favorite novels.) Him and Crowley bot like it and would talk to each other all the time about the book and movie and characters at the gatherings, leaving Will and Gilan out of the conversation. Crowley even starts calling Halt after one of the characters that he reminds him of. Dallas Tucker Winston. Stay Gold is the song made for the movie soundtrack.

Getting Surreal by The Fratellis - This has the same reason for Dogtown which is also by The Fratellis, and that is just the sound and vibe of the song. I don't know, I just feel like he'd like it.

So a lot of these don't have that good of an explanation, and that might of been because I was watching Edward Scissorhands while writing most of this, so I wasn't focusing properly and it took a long time. The other reason why they don't have good explanations is simply because I don't have an explanation other than the fucking sound.

Hopefully some people agree with me on at least some of these songs. If you don't know them, and want to see what I mean when I say they remind me of Halt in some way or another, I'd reccomend litsening. Especially The Fratellis. They're a good band and they don't have enough love. They are very underated and under appreciated. Just keep in mind that basically all of these songs are rock songs.

If you do end up litsening to them, and you do end up liking them, can you let me know somehow? I just like knowing that people lke the same songs as I do.

Part 2 of X 

The only thing on Sodapop’s mind all night was you. The look on your face as you told him to leave was something he was not likely to forget any time soon. 

You were clad in nothing but your old bath robe as you wiped away the left over make up that didn’t wash away from your bath. Your eyes stared into the mirror miserably, your eyes were puffy from all the crying, your cheeks were red still flushed from the hot bath you had over an hour ago, your hair was wrapped up in a towel - you looked like a mess... exactly what you were feeling on the inside. 

You regretted kicking Soda out, you regretted the words you had said to him - he hadn’t deserved that, and you felt awful stupid for admitting something you had spent the past year trying to squash down for fear of ruining your friendship with Soda. 

A knock sounded at the door, pulling you out of your reverie. You wondered who was at the door, it was way past dinner time and a storm had just started rolling in, claps of thunder shook the earth underneath your feet as ribbons of lightning danced across the sky. Who in God’s green Earth would brave this weather? 

You pulled the door open, coming face to face with a soaking wet Sodapop. 

“Soda” You muttered, your eyes wide as you pulled him in side. “What are you doing here? Its below freezing, you’d catch your death out there” 

“I don’t care.” He said simply. “I had to see you.”

You handed him a towel from the bundle of washing you hadn’t yet folded and he took it gratefully. 

“Look, Soda, I’m sorry. I was upset and I shouldn’t have taken it out on you. Can we just forget that it happened?” You asked hopefully as you fiddled mindlessly with the strings of your robe. 

“No. I don’t want to forget it.” He closed the gap between you and wound his arms around your waist. “I love you too.” 

“Don’t say it if you don’t mean it, Soda.” You pulled away from him with a frown 

“I’m glad I was too stupid to realise your feelings before. I’m glad that I was with Sandy.” He put his hand on your shoulder gently as you started to protest. “I’m glad because when I finally wised up enough to see what was in front of me I knew I could appreciate it more. She was the wrong woman for me, I knew it, you knew, the guys knew it... Heck even my momma knew it. You’re the girl for me.” 

“Soda” You said softly, reaching up to stroke his cheek. 

“I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m just hoping I’m not too late.” 

You pressed your lips his softly and shook your head. “Of course it’s not too late.”
