hiii i saw ur post about the marvel insta page and you mentioned a theory about karen being dakota north? im not super familiar with the comics but i would love to hear you expand on this!
Yeah absolutely!!
So Dakota North is a character who originally had her own comic, then began showing up as a supporting character in a few street level Marvel comics. She first shows up in Daredevil during the Brubaker run, replacing Jessica Jones’s brief tenure as the investigator for Nelson & Murdock.
She’s pretty cool; very willing to do whatever it takes to crack a case, always helping out at the firm, and keeping both Foggy and Matt in check. She’s especially good at calling Matt on his bullshit when needs must.

The recent set photos from S2 of Daredevil: Born Again show Karen and Matt in disguise. We also know from other set leaks that Matt is a missing person at some point in S2. So, for their incognito looks, Matt’s rocking the classic hoodie/sunglasses combo, but Karen seems to have gone all out; she’s wearing a leather jacket and a bright red wig. In my opinion she looks uncannily similar to Dakota North.

The original Netflix show ended with Matt and Foggy hiring Karen as in investigator in the new Nelson, Murdock & Page firm; also, she and Dakota have both dated Matt; they have similar (though not identical) personalities, lots of drive and a passion for seeking out the truth, etc.
So with all that in mind, and the set photos showing Karen dressed in that wig and jacket, my theory is that Dakota North will be Karen’s alias while she’s in hiding. It would be a cool way to give the comics a little nod, without bringing in a whole new character.
Obviously it’s just a theory, but that costume looks pretty intentional to me!
#also I just finished the brubaker run a couple weeks ago so it’s on the brain currently#ddba spoilers#daredevil born again spoilers#daredevil born again season 2#karen page#Dakota north

*matt @ nelson and murdock playing a voice message marc sent him right after a "good morning, handsome" message*
marc *in the voice msg*: fortunately you're blind cause otherwise you wouldn't be able to look at someone's eyes after what we did last night. *end of message*
matt:...
foggy: ... how classy.
dakota: i have so many questions I'd rather they remain unanswered.
matt: i think I'm gonna reschedule my lunch date with marc for today before he comes pick me up
foggy: yup, you should

Marvel published Dakota North #1 by Martha Thomases and Tony Salmons on this date in 1986, which featured the debut of the title character. Although her series was short-lived, she'd go on to be a supporting character in the pages of Cage, Daredevil and Captain Marvel.

February 1987. Created by Martha Thomases and artist Tony Salmons, this very stylish, agreeably lightweight series looked and felt like a better-than-average '80s TV detective show. Sadly, while pistol-packing private investigator Dakota North had all the narrative mod cons (semi-retired CIA father, hunky but none-too-bright police detective love interest, too-cool-for-school teenage brother, an array of $100 haircuts), what might have lasted three or four seasons on network television managed only five issues at Marvel in 1986–1987.

Dakota North subsequently made trademark-preserving guest appearances in various other Marvel books (the 2018 collection DAKOTA NORTH: DESIGN FOR DYING includes most of those, along with the five issues of her own series), but the original vibe was lost, and Dakota was eventually overshadowed by the angstier, more superhero-adjacent Jessica Jones.
