2023/04/08 English
BGM: Underworld - Rez
I usually write my ideas onto a memo pad, which has the name Mnemosyne from Maruman. Once, when the corona disease started, I bought this memo pad at Tokyu Hands in Himeji city and started writing various ideas. The different fact from other people's might be the one I am using English to write. Sometimes people ask me why I use English, but I can't answer the reason why certainly (by the way, I have never study abroad. I just learned English literature at a university, and never studied anymore). But once I heard that some people might be good at using English better than Japanese. Then, I might be one of that kind of people. Once I wrote my ideas onto a memo pad of Daiso, but it never went well. Just trying to write in English by my feeling fit my mind smoothly. At least, this is the fact from my point of view. Now, I never think about trying TOEIC, but just learning English like that.
Today was a day off. In the morning, I went to AEON and tried to read Manuel Castelle's "Communication Power" because I wanted to do a different things from my routine by my feeling. TBH this books is a paperback in English, and I heard that this is the book Audrey Tang, a Taiwanese politician's favorite book so I had bought it from curiosity. But it is tough to read because I am not used to read English. I have to accept the fact that it would work better for me to read more easier English books. I have to say I lost. In other words, I should wait for the time as pleasure when I can enjoy this book after I can improve my English. So I decided to read the English books as Haruki Murakami's "Norwegian Wood" and Paul Auster's "Moon Palace". There is no royal road to learn. Especially, on learning any languages we shouldn't be hurry to grow. Practicing every day will work as growing up. At least, I could have learned that from my experiences. I swear that I will learn English on Discord from today again.
Next Sunday I will be busy to go to vote, so today I did it. I read David J. Charmers's "Reality+". The topic has changed into about fake news, which lead me to think the possibility I have been cheated by any fake (in other word, the possibility I have been believing fake this moment). But the point is the fact that I might have the will "I want to believe sweet fact" or "I wanted to be cheated". Then, how can I find the true from the vast sea of fake? All I can do is just training my hunch every day to find any fishy things. When corona disease started, I almost believed the opinion that "Influenza is more dangerous from this corona". And about vaccination, I got confused deeply but decided to get. But even now I can't say that choice must be correct. The possibility of finding which is correct might be found after my death. It is not zero.
In the evening, I read Toshiya Ueno's "Reading autobiographies from philosophers". In this book, Toshiya Ueno talks about the danger of "finding myself". Not about having any interest in oneself, but facing other people's words which can give another point of view to "crash" oneself. This book recommends to read/encounter various autobiographies of philosophers as that activity. Me, when I learned I am autistic, I said a lot that "I am autistic" and tried to keep that fact as my identity firmly. But the fact says that I can be consisted by many identities. Sometimes opposite identity would tear me apart, and show any paradox or confused self. Then, I have to face that kind of paradox or confusion. Ignoring that diversity in myself would not be realistic. I learn English and enjoy several cultures from foreign countries, but also have a nationalistic essence that enables me to say I love sushi and miso soup. Then, it can just be OK.

hello I was wondering what utensils you use for your traditional art? It looks very neat but I'm very bad at discerning what things people use to draw with lole [also im not sure when your rant post was but I hope you're doing a bit better ^^]
hey ! sorry I didn't see this before !!!!
for my traditional art I use a mechanical pokemon pencil 0.5 ( I don't know the model.. it's ditto and pikachu themed tho ) sometimes pentel twist erase click 0.5 mechanical pencil, 0.5 2B uni nanodia blended hi quality leads ( my absolute fave type of lead I need more but they don't sell in my country. lol. I'm. yeah, heartbreaking ), for eraser I use a coca cola eraser I got from daiso ( it smells good but it can get dirty and stain your paper so I'd invest in something better, like a mono eraser. I really really like the smell tho lmfaoooooo ). most of my sketchbooks I get from daiso, but what I really like is honestly printer paper ( I like the grainy texture plus is cheap ) but I think paper is very personal ? to me I like using grainy textured papers with my graphyte pencils, and more smooth papers with my inking pens !
some other materials I like to use that's worth mentioning:
- normal eco grip fabel castell 2B pencil ( good for sketching and I like the sounds, it definitely isn't 2B enough, very very light graphyte )
- sakura micron pigma tip 1 pen ( black ) ( soooooo nice for doodling )
- sakura micron pigma fine tip F pen ( black ) ( inking, but I don't like inking. but doodling feels very nice too )
- pilot super grip 0.7 black ballpoint pen ( this is the one. my absolute favourite pen. for everything. writing, drawing, anything. super comfortable for a ballpoint pen. surprisingly dark ink )
- pilot hi-tec-c 0.3 pink pen ( this one is soooooo nice for sketching and the sounds, goshhh so nice, I only have a pink one, tried to find other colours but never found this model ever again )
also thank you so much for your sweet words ! i can't say I feel better but I mean. it will pass. I'll be fine <3

i’ve promised to make a ‘what’s in my pencil case’ post for @kankenstudy so here it is!
1. 2B faber castel pencil
from drawing graphs to sketching, its the best pencil for my grip
2. black sarasa pens
i’ve always liked 0.5 tips and these pens are extremely smooth
3. blue and coloured muji pens
muji pens are affordable and they look really aesthetic so thank god for these!
4. stabilo highlighters
i’ve for the swing cool ones as it’s the easiest to highlight on my textbooks
5. mildliner highlighters
i’ve got the pastel ones which comes in a set and they last quite long
6. sharpies
the best permanent marker! i have a fine point and an ultra fine point
7. post it’s!
it’s so convenient if you need to write small notes here and there so i strongly encourage getting a stack of these
8. a roll of washi tape
you never know when ya need it! i got mine from daiso and they have the alphabet on it :”)
9. others
this included glue, a good scissors, correction tape, a stapler, a ruler and an eraser
10. a ball point pen
while i favour ink pens, there are times where i’m lazy to lift my wrist and write neatly so ball point pens are my hero because they glide!
everyone has different stationary and here’s a list of mine! happy studying y’all ✨☀️
love, @lila-studies 💞

Hey! I was just wondering (as a fellow Aussie) how you buy a lot of your stationery (like muji) because I don't live near a major city and I struggle to find most of it online without crazy shipping.
Hi there! Well, I live close to the city of Sydney, so I have access to places such as Muji. But I mainly got my stationery in Japan because I lived there before. But in Australia, I get my stationery from these places:
Ebay. I would say that this is your best bet. You can find super cheap stickers, washi tape, and sticky notes here ($1-$2). Those are mainly China or Hong Kong based sellers. Also, you can find other stationery (such as everyone’s favourite mildliners, Sarasa, Pilot pens, etc.) for decent prices without the high shipping cost. These are around $2-4 each. Of course, if it’s a higher quality pen/mechanical pencil, it would cost more than that.
Amazon. Like eBay, you can also find a lot of stationery for decent prices here. Sometimes I find other things (eg. Stabilo pastel Swing Cool highlighters) that I can’t find on eBay.
Officeworks. There’s a lot of great stuff here at Officeworks! They have pretty much everything. You can find things that are popular amongst the Studyblr community, such as Pilot pens, Uni-ball, Pentel, pastel Stabilo highlighters, etc. I’ve seen mildiners on their online store (haven’t seen them in store yet.) It has a shipping cost, but you can choose the pick up option. They also have very high quality brands, such as Parker. Also they have super cute desk supplies and storage. A lot of my folders and book stands are from here.
Typo. This is one shop that I miss when I’m abroad. They’ve got super cute stuff here! The pens are aesthetically cute, but are pretty average when it comes to writing. So for practicality, I don’t recommend the pens. But notebooks, diaries, decor, storage, etc. it’s great! If you like Moleskin or Leuchtturm1917 notebooks (but find them too expensive), Typo has notebooks that are great alternative to them. They’re still slightly pricey ($20 or so), but they’re good quality and so much cheaper than Moleskin/Leuchtturm. I’ve been using one for a few years now.
Kmart. Kmart has seriously upped their game in the past years. They still maintain their super cheap prices, but their stuff has improved so much! They have really cute stationery and storage that’s worth checking out. The pastel rainbow washi tape that I always use is actually from here. I think it was $6 for the pack of 14.
Big W. Like Kmart, they have nice stationery for cheap. I’ve also seen Pilot frixion pens here. I like their storage, folders, notebooks, and sticky notes. I recently bought pastel artline pens from here.
Target. A little bit more expensive than Kmart and Big W, but again, they’ve got really cute stuff here.
Daiso. In Australia, almost everything is $2.80, but it’s still very cheap. I haven’t used their pens or highlighters before, but I’ve seen some people around use them, so I think the quality of them can’t be bad. But for me, Daiso is great for simple pen cases, folders, storage, sticky notes, stickers, and pen holders. They’ve also got some nice acrylic storages. They have acrylic drawers for makeup/stationery, but it’s very small, so I bought one just to store my stickers and small sticky notes. My main acrylic drawers (that you might see in some of my posts) was bought from eBay (Amazon also has them.)
Miniso. This only opened near me a year or two ago, I think. Like Daiso, this is another Japanese store with really cute things. I’ve seen a lot of people using highlighters/pens from Miniso. But like Daiso, I like Miniso for their pen cases, storage, etc.
Kikki K. This is expensive, but you find it in many places. I absolutely adore their things, but I don’t shop here so much simply because it’s too expensive for me. But their stuff is adorable, unique and high quality.
Muji. I have easy access to Muji stores where I live in Australia, but I bought all my Muji things in Japan, so I haven’t needed to shop there yet. It’s there when I will come to need it though. However, if you don’t have easy access to one, I guess that your only option would be to buy it online. You can check eBay because there will probably be some there.
Kinokuniya. I don’t know where you live, but again because I have easy access to Sydney CBD, I sometimes buy my Japanese stationery (and books) from Kinokuniya. This is the only place I have seen mildliners sold in-store (in Australia.) They cost $3 each.
Rakuten/Dokodemo. These two are Japanese websites where you can find things for their original prices in Japan and you can find Japanese goods that you can’t find in other places. However, they have high shipping costs, so it would only be worth it if you buy a lot, I think. I’ve only used these when I’m desperate. Before buying on here, be sure to check eBay and Amazon first because if they have an item, it’s most likely cheaper there.
In Summary:
For writing implements and washi tape, I recommend eBay, Amazon, Officeworks. The advice I always give is: with Japanese or German stationery, you can almost never go wrong. So keep an eye out for them. Brands include: Zebra, Uni-ball, Pilot, Stabilo, Pentel, Artline, Faber-castell. You find find some of these even in Woolies (Extra tip: Woolies has $8 alternative notebooks to Moleskin/Leuchtturm notebooks that are really decent.) In Australia, German brands are found quite easily in most places. Also, the Crayola supertips are super popular amongst the Studyblr community (I’m not a fan of calligraphy so I don’t have them) and you can find those anywhere. For folders, sticky notes, deco, and storage, I recommend: Typo, Kmart, Big W, Target, Daiso, Miniso, and of course, eBay, Amazon, Officeworks. If you don’t mind pricey, but super cute and unique, Kikki K. If you’re desperate for Japanese goods, Rakuten and Dokodemo.
The important thing is to make use of what you have around you. There’s a lot of hidden gems in common Australian stores that other countries don’t have.
I hope this was helpful and good luck!

2 & 15 :)
I have a big pencil box that sits under my desk. On top is one of my favorite sketchbooks. They come in a pack of 2 at Micheals for $5 (used to be $4, the butt heads), then there’s a pack of acrylic paint I’ve never opened, a bottle of ink for ink washes, and a colored pencil sharpener.
Inside the actual box are all kinds of pens, markers, brush pens, and pencils. It would take me forever to list them, but there’s a lot of Prismacolor markers and pens, Faber-Castell pens, and a whole lot of miscellaneous art stuff. Couple bottles of India Ink (Higgins, ProArt, Speedball Acrylic), a bottle of sumi ink, a bottle of purple “Fine Italian Writing Ink”, a bunch of pencil lead, some brushes I use for washes and inking... and a pack of sticky notes.
I have this cute kitty pencil case that I carry with me. I got it at a Daiso. It says “We are stars that shine indefinitely” and “you untouched are loved” and “you make me so happy good friend” on it. Inside I have a Kuretake No. 8 brush pen filled with Kuretake ink. Some Prismacolor Premier fine liners (which are my favorite inking pens. I usually have a 005 that I use for fine detail, an 01 which I use for everything else, an 03 I use for outlining, and an 05 I use for blocking in blacks in areas too small for a brush pen). One purple Bic Round Stic Grip pen that I like sketching with, one green Foray ball point pen that I also like sketching with (for Forays were on clearance at Office Depot, but I LOVE them. No idea where they’re sold now). One black Pilot G2 that I use for writing. A Staedtler 925 pencil that uses 0.5 lead (I put colorful lead in this) and a Zebra M 301 (FAVORITE) mechanical pencil (0.5 lead) that I keep regular lead in. Then we have purple and green 0.5 Uni Nano Dia Color mechanical pencil lead (which I separated out by hand ahahah, they come in rainbow packs), and some Pentel HB Hi-Polymer Super 0.5 mechanical pencil lead. A white Prismacolor colored pencil that I use for highlights on toned paper. A mechanical Tombow Mono KNOCK eraser which I got in San Fancisco and now am obsessed with, a tiny nub of a regular eraser, a small ruler. Also inside, I keep a little felt friend my girlfriend made for me in like 2007, and a brush tube of jojoba oil that I use on my dry cuticles. As for weird art habits: I hoard supplies and sketchbooks and barely ever even use them!

254: Another Daiso Doodle without an infosheet! This was going to be a page full of Graf von Faber-Castell Violet Blue in my Sailor x Pent Saijiki Sakura, but wouldn't you know it, I used the pen so much outside of the doodle the ink ran out! I filled in the gaps with Robert Oster Pinky (a favourite) in my Platinum Kumpoo, Sailor Shikiori Yozakura in my Pelikan M200 Amethyst, and the recent Sailor 123/Pelikan M600 combo. How psychedelic!
